This is a lunch buffet. It would have been a four or five star review but at 12:40 with a place that might have been one third full there were two of the main courses empty or nearly empty. Several of the other items were down to little selections left. I had to wait for for them to refill the items. Service was good with the waiter suggesting an ice tea when I had a hard time making up my mind. I just gave them an upgrade to four stars as I tried it again today and all the trays had food in them so they have improved.

Google
Our server Sandy was awesome! The fruit was fresh and the omelet was decent, but that’s about it. The price is an all-in $22 which includes tip, drink, taxes, and buffet which is convenient but very overpriced for the low quality of food. The grits were flavorless and turned into concrete from sitting on my plate for just a couple of minutes and the pancakes were like hockey pucks. If the buffet was included in my night’s stay, I’d have no complaints but I’ve had free breakfast buffets at budget motels that were better than this.

We ended up doing a short notice birthday party for my daughter and her volleyball team and it was amazing! Everyone was very pleased with the food and the service at this breakfast buffet! The hotel property is beautiful and located close to many things. A special shout out to our waitress Maria and everyone who helped her! The omelette station was great and the rest of the options were delicious and everyone from kids to adults were satisfied! A special thanks to Holly the event coordinator for working with me trying to fit this event into a crazy volleyball tournament weekend. The other party venues at this hotel were beautiful and she tried so hard to make something special happen for us. It was greatly appreciated! They event put together a beautiful mini dessert platter in lieu of a cake to sing happy birthday!! Thanks so much- definitely the highlight of our long weekend!

We have been coming here for months now. I get one day off and love the family breakfast time and they have a huge selection and great food. All you can eat and to order omelette station. Friendly staff, clean and inviting!!

Best Breakfast Buffet in Orlando, Florida! Located within Rosen Plaza. All the staff is super nice and friendly. If you’re in Orlando you have to try out this buffet. They have an Omelette station which is to die for 🥰🥰. I got free self-parking when I came to eat there and you don’t have to be a hotel guest. It is reasonably price.

This place is beautiful. The food is amazing and so good. We come every Sunday for breakfast and the workers have come to known us.

So, just before coming here I went to the Hyatt to check out their #breakfast #buffet and almost paid 25.00 for a basic continental buffet at the Hyatt with 1/4th of the food on this fantastic buffet. The breakfast buffet here is extensive, offering fresh lox and capers, yogurts, pastries, various sausages, an omelet bar, free coffee/oj, fruit, corned beef hash, potatoes, crispy bacon, turkey sausage, donuts, and a TON more... I’m so happy I found this gem- 13.99! Awesome staff also! Thanks #rosen #matisse

Everything about this restaurant is amazing!! It is clean. The staff is unbelievably gracious and the food is wonderful.

Yelp
The only good thing about this place is the service. The servers are polite and attentive. The food? The pancakes were crunchy and cold, the scrambled eggs were wet and lukewarm, and the bacon was room temperature. The orange juice tasted watered down. Not impressed with anything at the Rosen Plaza so far. I'd been better off buying a cereal cup from the shop.

Yelp
The servers here are all fantastic. Very attentive for a breakfast buffet. I stopped twice and both times was impressed wjth them. The food spread is nice with fruits, bagel, salmon and omlette station. The over all taste is decent but not exceptional. Overall great option for hotel breakfast buffet at about 20$

Yelp
Don't know why the ratings are so low. Nice healthy quick breakfast, great selection at a reasonable price. The staff couldn't be nicer.

Yelp
Meh... marginal at best. The scrambled eggs were weird... Like those powdered eggs. The pork sausage was weird to me as well. Even their biscuit gravy was unusual...salty with a strange flavor undertone that I can't describe. I can't say I cared for any of it except for the coffee... The coffee was good because that is pretty hard to screw up. They also had some yogurt and granola with fresh fruit which was good. They had an omelette station, which might've been quite good, but unfortunately, I did not see it until I already had a plate loaded up with the powdered scrambled eggs and other items described above. When the server seats you, it would be helpful if they briefly gave you a 10 second orientation of items available before you get up and start looking around so you won't miss the omelette station - which is kind of hidden at the end of one of the serving stations. They slipped-in an 18% "service charge" on the bill that they didn't tell me about. If you are a normal tipper... You might inadvertently miss that - and end up paying 40% (if you are a 20% tipper). I don't mind them adding that in principle, because there are a lot of foreign tourists that are not used to tipping that come to see Mickey Mouse... So the servers would suffer as a result, but since that goes contrary to convention in the United States, it is critical to tell your customers that there is already an 18% gratuity (or service charge or whatever you want to call it) added to the bill. I was a party of one. I usually tip 20 to 25%, but whenever I catch a place slipping in a service charge, they don't tell me about, I don't give them one penny more than what they have charged me, so it ended up cost costing them what would've been a larger gratuity.

Yelp
Updated and added a star. Love that you get a free buffet breakfast for 2 when you book their fall package. The buffet items were all fresh and replenished promptly to keep up with the bustling morning eaters. This time there were real plates and silverware. We had a very attentive server. He was always there when we needed him. The omelet bar was back and that was awesome. There were so many options to build your omelet with. The scrambled eggs were a weird texture. A combination of chewy and crunchy? We Loved the yogurt with many toppings-fresh fruit or make a full on parfait! The fresh oatmeal was good as well and had many things you could add to it. The regular coffee wasn't the best I've had but it was drinkable. Maybe I'll try one of their specialty coffees tomorrow. My all time fave part of the buffet is building my own bagel with lox, cream cheese, red onions, capers, and tomato. They let me carry that back to the room as well as a coke to go! Super cool! Will add more buffet pics tomorrow. Was too hungry.

Yelp
Ok this place had decent buffet selections, most were fresh. The omelet station was very nice and the fruit selection was great. The issues were coffee was very weak, the price was 13.95 including beverage not a bad price but they don't tell you tip is added no matter how many people are eating I think 18% is a little much for buffet Do yourself a favor there is a quick serve grill next door that is much cheaper and looked good.

Yelp
This was a great breakfast buffet. Our server, Brahim, was extremely attentive to refilling our coffee and juice and removing dirty plates in case we wanted to go back to the buffet and get a fresh plate. The food was great. From the crispy bacon to the made to order omelet. There was a great variety of breakfast food. Ignore those old negative reviews on here, clearly they listened to the feedback and are doing it right now. We will come back.

Yelp
Good food and good service. Plenty of choices on the breakfast buffet. Nice hotel atmosphere.

Yelp
We were staying at the Rosen for Christmas, which offered us two breakfast vouchers for each day we were there. I paid full price ($13.99) both days for my meal, while my parents got in free. During peak breakfast hours, which seems to be... all morning when it comes to the holiday season, the place can get a little hectic. The server assigned to your section can be a little hard to find. So make sure you make a list of everything you need so once you DO flag down the server, you can get what you need. My parents were SO impressed with the spread. Everything from smoked salmon to an omelet bar to the usual hot breakfast offerings to fresh fruit... basically anything I can think of. Overall, this is definitely one of the better hotel breakfasts I've had, even though it wasn't completely free. It's convenient and a lot of pretty good food!

Yelp
Listen I don't mind paying the money for a buffet and it's a breakfast buffet but To have to pay $20 to park there because it's inside a motel or whatever is ridiculous that's crazy

Yelp
We were attending a trade show at the Orange County Convention Center, were hungry for lunch but wanted to forego the usual convention center food and also needed to talk about some business items while we ate. We walked to the nearby Rosen Plaza Hotel and found Cafe Matisse. They were offering a lunch buffet, but from where we sat it didn't look terribly extensive, so we all ordered from the regular menu. Aside from the buffet, their lunch menu itself is pretty varied. Service was a bit on the slow side, but in the end we were able to order our food, discuss everything we needed to take care of and head back to the convention within an hour. I ordered the open faced prime rib sandwich, but when it arrived it was a bit more than I'd expected. It was a full-sized cut of prime rib, probably 10 oz., placed atop an open, white hoagie-style bun and drizzled with horseradish sauce. It was served with fries, lettuce and tomato on the side. To be honest, I started to laugh a little, because this open faced sandwich did not resemble any kind of sandwich, open faced or otherwise, that I'd ever seen. This was also not a typical lunch portion, this was a full-sized meal and a half. Anyway, I got through it and it was very tasty! In all, I'd recommend this place to convetion attendees. It's not really a far walk from the convention center, and on this day we'd checked the restaurant at the Peabody hotel and while that place was packed and had a 45 minute wait for a table, we went here to Matisse, walked in and were seated immediately. Also, the price was fine for what it was. Even with the huge slab of prime rib I was served, my sandwich and fries was only $9.95 which is more than reasonable.

Yelp
This is one of Orlando's best kept secrets. Cafe Matisse is inside the Rosen plaza Hotel. It is a buffet style restaurant. I have dined here several times, I am surprised I've never had the opportunity to give it a review on Yelp! Every year the Knights of Columbus have huge event here right after Thanksgiving Day. I usually participate in this event. My wife and I went on Friday evening to check out the hospitality suite. We really did not like the selection of food that they had there. So we went downstairs to Café Matisse. I was promptly greeted by the hostess, she informed me that the Knights of Columbus were being given a 25% discount on the buffet. Did I mention the buffet includes prime rib? I was all over it. I approach the prime rib carving station, to notice that the prime rib had already been pre-sliced. The man at the carving station asked me, "Would you like two?" I said, "no I'll just have one to start." I should've taken his advice, I wound up making three trips. My wife and another guest both had a lot of seafood, which they enjoyed. They kept raving about the Mac and cheese. I tried some, it was very good. Overall the food was good, the service was good. Just a word of caution... Pay close attention to your bill, the tip is automatically added on. Even after I swiped my credit card, and credit card machine prompted me if I wanted to add a tip.

Yelp
Pretty decent buffet and super Keto friendly! For 16 bucks, I think it is a great deal. Tons of vegetables and meats- exactly what I was looking for. I also tried a small bite of the key lime pie (sorry to say, probably not worth that bite of sugar, but everything else was good). Very extensive selection of salads. And that roast beef was really good. I'm a big fan here.

Yelp
I stayed at the Rosen Plaza hotel and ate at the breakfast buffet here one morning. It was $13.95, plus tax and 18% gratuity (even though I ate alone). The total was $17.53, which was not worth it. I did like that they serve made to order omelets at the buffet, which was pretty good. There were a lot of options, but the food was average and not warm. The service was excellent and my waiter was great. If you're in a rush, the buffet is an ok option, but I would not recommend it and I would not go back.

Yelp
While staying at the hotel we ate here and had the dinner buffet. (We received a discount for being hotel patrons. They also had a coupon online.) The buffet wasn't huge, but all of the food tasted good. The selections were geared towards an adult palate (prime rib, mushroom stuffed ravioli, vegetable medley, etc.) but at least kids six and under eat free, so we didn't have to pay for them to say that they didn't like their food. We were there at the very start of the dinner service, but I was surprised that it was so empty. There were, maybe, five other tables seated. (This isn't a complaint. I appreciate a buffet that isn't packed with people.) Our server was a little slow returning for refills and such, but she was very friendly. I would definitely return, just maybe not with the kids. They preferred room service.

Yelp
Easy to eat gluten free/ celiac here. The chef came out to the table to discuss options and what could be cooked without cross contamination. The baked gluten free vegetarian tart was quite good. At the breakfast buffet, the salmon with cream cheese on gf bread was great. Lots of good fresh fruit. The staff was very friendly. You could take some of your coffee to go. You can often find a coupon online.

Yelp
Pretty solid breakfast buffet spread. If you're going to serve lox AND smoked salmon, you're going to get a thumbs up from me. Excellent pork and chicken sausages too. Omelette bar is nice. But please take away the donuts. Gross and shouldn't be considered a breakfast food.

Yelp
Cafe Matisse is another Rosen buffet (like Cafe Gauguin at the Rosen Center). This buffet is smaller than Cafe Gauguin, but also pretty good. I would say it's better than any other buffet type restaurant you can find on International Drive. (10x better than Ponderosa or Golden Corral). The buffet is not open every day. It varies depending on if conventions are in town, or if the hotel occupancy is high. I definitely suggest calling prior to going to see if the buffet is open, and if so, what they are having. I often will call Cafe Matisse and then call Cafe Gauguin to see what each is serving, and make a decision based on menu. For Orlando residents, they participate in the Orlando Entertainment Book, making it an even better value - for buy one-get one free buffets. Definitely a GREAT deal then. On holidays, Cafe Matisse offers expansive buffets (that are delicious). You must make a reservation for them (Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving), as they sell out quickly.

Yelp
Buffets never have and never will be my thing...and Cafe Matisse in the Rosen Plaza Hotel is no exception. Something about the stench of breakfast, lunch and dinner all combined into one smell and people all around you gorging themselves just does not appeal to me, nor is it appetizing in any way. However, I will say that buffets can be convenient and affordable at times which is the only reason I've eaten here...twice. The first time I dined here was for breakfast and despite my hatred of establishments such as this, it really wasn't too bad. Their fruit was very fresh and plentiful. Most of the classic breakfast items were on the buffet line like eggs, bacon, pancakes and waffles with a few international treats mixed in like crepes filled with a sweet cheese mix of some kind. However, as is usual with massed produced food, the bacon was not crispy, the foods that were supposed to be hot were not and the oatmeal and grits were so thick it was rough trying to get it in a bowl. The omelet station did a good job, but was terribly slow and used too much butter for my liking. Lunch was nothing special, but does the trick if you're hungry. The salad portion was all fresh and had quite a bit to choose from with all of the usual items present. The rest of it was a hodge podge of meats, pastas, rice and a few mystery items that I couldn't decipher. Dessert, as is usualy, wasn't bad with chocolate cake and ice cream...by far the best part. Service is average, but nothing special seeing as it is a buffet establishment which pretty much means self-serve with the exception of your drinks. Prices are not cheap, but much better than some of the other tourist trap restaurants nearby. Quality is average...I've had a lot worse than this before. Overall, it's okay.

Yelp
I only had a carry out salad here but it was very good with grilled chicken, candied pecans, and apples. They let me substitute the "chicken salad" kind of chicken it came with for "grilled chicken" that I wanted. It was a good size, fresh, and filling.

Yelp
If staying at the Rosen Plaza Hotel, Cafe Matisse is in a convenient location, tucked inside the lobby area. The few times I swung by the restaurant during my stay this week there were few guests, which is a little worrisome on one hand but very welcome on the other hand if one is in a hurry. I decided to get an early lunch at Cafe Matisse on a Friday. I was seated promptly and presented with a menu I believe I had seen before upon my hotel arrival a couple nights previously--the room service menu. Needing gluten-free fare to avoid general abdominal cramping, I had hoped the spinach salad would be safe, as it came with grilled chicken, strawberries, and a strawberry vinaigrette. I was disappointed to find the strawberry vinaigrette to be more like a strawberry syrup, and the chicken was grilled, but also seasoned with some sort of glutenous herb mix. The taste took me (way) back in time to childhood when my mother prepared chicken with Shake n' Bake. Do they still make Shake n' Bake? I digress.... Anyhow, after an unhappy stomach earlier in the week, I was sure to ask the server about gluten-free options. She didn't know, so she consulted with the chef. The chef came out to my table, and when he said one of the salads would work, I jumped on the option. He told me he would freshly grill the chicken without seasoning, which made me super happy. The salad arrived at my table - mixed lettuce, huge chunks of apple, chicken cooked perfectly, and a gluten-free balsamic on the side, all packaged into a very generous portion. I don't like hijacking the kitchen staff to answer questions, but it was worth it to avoid a gut bomb. If you're in a hurry and aren't as picky or high-maintenance as I am, I think Cafe Matisse is a fine option. I found the staff to be extremely polite, prices not sky-high, and the food OK.

Yelp
Ate here two days. It is really not that pricey for a buffet. If you're staying at hotel you get a 20% discount card to present to server. The bagels are to soft even after toasting 3 times. The baked goods need improvement. The muffin I had didn't taste like it was suppose to. I forgot now what kind it was. The flank skirt looked dried out at yesterday's dinner, so my hubby and I ate somewhere else. Otherwise the food was good.

Meghan H.

Yelp
We were given a free lunch because the package that we booked could not be honored. With that being said, I read the menu and was kind of unimpressed. This place primarily serves a buffet but we came just after the breakfast buffet ended and the options which were available were a la carte Based on what would be the best bang for my buck, I had the pasta with shrimp. My husband had the smokehouse burger - he said that he really liked the fries and I thought that they were reminiscent of Burger King fries circa 1994 (which was probably the last time I had them). I had the shrimp, spinach, fava bean, sundried tomato cavatelli pasta, which was supposed to come with sundried tomatoes (once again, hello 1994) but instead they substituted roasted cherry tomatoes (thank God). It was subtle at first; I added salt, pepper flakes and requested extra parmesan. To my surprise, I received an entire ounce of shaved parmesan which I mixed in with a couple squeezed lemon wedges. Granted, I felt the need to doctor up the dishes, but they were absolutely amazing after all was said and done.

Yelp
Very good food, good dervice, and reasonable price. The buffet is not extensive but uou get the prime rib, and 2 or 3 other proteins, good salad bar, and good sides. You also get 5 different desserts and ice cream They have a good 25% discount coupon on the website of the hotel.
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
I went to the breakfast buffett. The coffee had a large piece of something floating in it. My strawberry had a dead caterpillar in it. Then I was given a free meal and 25% off the remaining 2 people's bills. However an 18% gratuity was mandatory added on the whole bill and no one mentioned I was supposed to get a 50% off anyway for staying at the hotel. The manager asked my room number so I guess they used that to make the numbers work for them. The highlight of the meal was the eggs. The pancakes were not very good and the bacon was dry.
google avatar

Jim J.

Yelp
It looks like the prime rib buffet is done for went 2 times in Nov and Dec and only entree menu available which was nothing special. Better places across the street at The Pointe.

Steve F.

Yelp
Only serving soup and salad at the lunch buffet. I did not know that until I showed up because they did not publicize that information anywhere. Nice job management.

Alicia C.

Yelp
Please don't waste your time (and namely money) dining here. For the price of $18.95 + tax you would expect a wider selection of choices. Proteins: Horribly salty chicken Pan seared cod in a cream sauce that had no taste Pork (looked dry so didn't take) Prime rib (sliced by a "chef" Who was more interested in speaking to a workmate. The "sauce" this same "chef" offers for the prime rib is really a jus) Starch: Pan burnt potatoes and that's literally it No rice or pasta options Hot Veggies: Carrots in a supremely sweet orange glaze Overdone green beans Steamed cliche cauliflower, broccoli and carrot freezer bag Salad Bar: Only saving grace - caesar, greek, mixed greens, spinach and then the add ons such as olives, sunflower seeds, cottage cheese, tomato, onion, cucumber and a few others Dessert: Chocolate cake Pineapple cake Chocolate mousse Some other unidentifiable mess There are too many great nearby restaurants to waste your money here. They seriously need to improve the options and quality of ingredients to at least be able to seriously compete with other restaurants on the strip.

Yelp
My family and I had lunch here on Saturday before visiting ICE! at nearby Gaylord Palms. Very poor selection and quality of food. 18% tip automatically added to bill. For 3 people for a buffet lunch, with taxes and tip, total was just under $50. The quality of food was equivalent to Golden Corral. Would not recommend this place.
google avatar

Chris W.

Yelp
Worst breakfast buffet over priced and tip included at 18. Percent for only 2 people and its serve yourself it was $34 for us and the bar is Skippy with a lot of breads and things to fill you up. The best part was the omelet made to order. Hotel is great this place sucks
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
While staying at the Rosen we enjoyed dinner at Cafe Matisse. They weren't offering the buffet so we decided to give the full menu a shot. While the menu was burger heavy we decided to try the Short Ribs, and Salisbury Steak. Both were well prepared, and service was quite fast. Both meals where very good, and prices were line with what you'll pay at any hotel/resort restaurant. Upon our next business stay at the Rosen we will make to stop on by.

Amanda S.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the dinner I had here! I ordered off the menu instead of doing the buffet since I wasn't that hungry. I had the Grilled Cheese and Creamy Tomato Soup -- SO good! Everything was cooked perfectly and really delicious. The grilled cheese was on the fancy side as it included brie along with cheddar and another cheese (pepper jack? my memory fails me). Great value for the price you pay for that particular item on the menu. All the buffet food my friends were eating looked awesome as well and they loved it. I would recommend this place and return!

Elwin M.

Yelp
Be careful when you receive your check. They automatically add an 18% gratuity fee, but still have a space on the check for a tip. The menu probably indicates an automatic gratuity fee; however, we all had the buffet and did not look at the menu. We did not see any signs posted and none of the servers notified of this policy. By the way, there were only 2 people in our party and both had the buffet, so the server involvement with us was limited.

Steve E.

Yelp
I ate breakfast there 7/22/15. Service was excellent. Waitress was excellent. She checked on my several times. Management checked on me as well. I ate the buffet since it was just about two bucks more than what I was going to order. Omelet made to order was perfect. Breakfast potatoes were cooked to perfection. Would have been a little bit better if they were warmer. Bacon was good. Fresh fruit was exactly that, fresh. It should have been cut into smaller chunks, but nevertheless excellent. All said and done with tax and MANDATORY tip just a little too pricey to eat everyday while I'm staying here.

Mary B.

Yelp
I stayed at hotel and ate here several times this past week. It was ok but I had a gripe with Sunday brunch. There was none. Breakfast service did not exist when I went there after a long day traveling the previous day. I don't know about others but I expect the descent hotels to have at least some sort of breakfast food on Sunday morning and through to 2pm. They were not even apologetic about it or considerate of my fellow travelers whose bio-clocks were 3 hours behind. They could easily have put lunch items out and scaled down breakfast gradually as the time got later. Who doesn't like an egg on their burger? For my money the Lite Bite was a better deal and the lady working the food prep area was very nice. I did Matisse buffet one night and it was also "ok" but the place was empty. Saturday night I had southern Cobb salad and it was very odd. Nuts? Really. Hardly any blue cheese either not to mention mystery dressing. Overall it was as mediocre as the hotel

Linda F.

Yelp
It is unusual to find a restaurant in a hotel that provides the kind of service you get in your neighborhood establishment. The wait staff was not just cordial, it was friendly. Service was efficient with multiple fillings of our beverages and check-ups on whether we needed anything. Since we were there for lunch, the salads were the perfect choice. We passed on the luncheon buffet and ordered these freshly made salads, mine was loaded with strawberries, blue cheese, bacon, and a wonderful vinaigrette. This was accompanied by two warm dinner rolls. The price was another nice surprise. Hotel restaurants are usually high priced with less than stellar food. This place is an exception. The best meal I've ever had -- no. But it was much better than what you can find in most establishments like this. The 18% mandatory tip was not a turn off for me, I actually added to that because our service was so good!

Amr H.

Yelp
Very bad quality bread was frozen and old the rest of the food was old and over cooked just go somewhere better like ihop
