A True Hidden Gem in South Eugene! Cafe Med is hands down one of the best-kept secrets in Eugene. Every visit feels like coming home to family where warmth, hospitality, and delicious flavors meet. The Italian cuisine is consistently outstanding, with every dish beautifully presented and bursting with complex flavors. From the perfectly cooked steak to the delicate fish dishes and the incredible tuna tartare, I’ve never had a plate that didn’t wow me. Their cocktails especially the espresso martinis are divine, and the wine list is impressively curated. Whether you’re a regular or a first-timer, the service will make you feel like a VIP. The cozy, elegant ambiance completes the experience, making it a perfect night out. Plus this is where my significant other and I had our first date and we keep coming back as it is almost as amazing as him. Pro tip: Reservations are a must, and trust me you’ll want to keep coming back.

Genuinely such a good atmosphere (especially outside). The service was lovely. Our server was so kind. She was so on top of it even with all tables full. I’m assuming it was the owner or manager but he came up to me and my friend. He was also kind. You could tell he cares about the customer experience as well! Food was DELISH! An amazing GLUTEN FREE selection (they even have GF calamari). The drinks were cute. My friend got the limoncello martini, and I got a honey lavender mocktail. I liked this mocktail cuz it is actually a nice flavor. Not just a super sugary drink, as most mocktails tend to be in my opinion. I got a special that night which was a spaghetti pasta with a cream red sauce and spicy sausage ($30), to die for. My friend got some salmon pasta, I took a bite, sooo good.

They have: The best bread I’ve ever tasted in my life! The best pizza that I’ve ever tasted in my life! I gobbled up the bread and pizza so fast that I didn’t get a chance to take pictures! We tried it for the first time 7/21/24 and that’s the day it became my new favorite place to eat in Eugene. Can’t wait to go back on Tuesday! Definitely visit this place!! Update: The bolognese is immaculate! I don’t know what the chef has going on back there, but I daydream about eating this dish when I’m at home! I absolutely love this place!!

Google
This is a great date night place. We had the branzino special, bolognese, and calamari as the appetizer. The latte was a wonderful after dinner treat with the mousse. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I highly recommend this place for dinner. We will be back.

I just found my new favorite Italian restaurant in Eugene! As a Jersey Italian, I am a bit spoiled when it comes to food. I finally have a place that tastes a little closer to home. We got the mussel appetizer which was to die for and a massive portion. My fiance got the bolognese for his main course- the sauce was absolute perfection. I got the chicken piccata which had a very complex flavor and texture and they didn't scimp on the capers. Not only was the food phenomenal but the service was out of this world. Our water cup and wine glasses were never empty during our entire meal and we felt very well cared for. The ambiance was intimate. Perfect date night. 10 out of 10 recommend!

Google
We absolutely loved this restaurant!! We are new to Eugene and come from a big city known for its good restaurants - and we were very impressed!! From the moment we arrived we were nicely greeted with a smile, and sat in the gorgeous front dining area that feels like you are in a greenhouse. The music was great, and now the food - WOW!!! We could tell the ingredients were top quality - as could my husband who trained in culinary arts. Thank you for a lovely experience - we will be back again and again! 🙌🏼

Google
My friend and I are trying a restaurant we've never been to every week. When Cafe Med popped up in our search, we didn't expect too much since our first choice for the week was closed. I'm so glad our first choice wasn't open because Cafe Med was an absolute gem of a place. The restaurant has romantic classy vibes and the food was incredible! I ordered the calamari, linguine clam special, and my friend had the tortelloni. The meal came with a soft delightful bread. All were delicious! They ran out of crab cakes and a creme brulee type dessert, so I'm definitely going back there to try those.

Google
I went for the first time this week and had to come back again to order the pasta I didn't get to order the first time. Everything was so good from the bread to the salads to the pastas and dessert. The staff is so concerned, genuine, friendly and helpful. My 2nd visit I had a question about my dish and they went above and beyond to make sure I had a good experience. Can't wait to visit again!

Yelp
Where do I even start. Camille our waitress had every recommendation on point. I especially asked for her go to and she advised on the ravioli with lobster and crab and a hint of lemon. Words can't express how good it was. DEVINE. Wife order the spicy pasta, kids orders gnocchi with Alfredo and pabadelli with cream sauce. Everything was just so good. She nailed it. The wine, just as good with a Brunello. Top shelf. The owner Toby, just as good as they come. He stated he recognized me from West Palm. He was a few counties off as I'm from Miami, but damn. I'm sure I've seen him when he had a restaurant in Miami. Just a wonderful gent, just chatted on wine and Miami. Head to toe, place is what we needed as we got tired of eating bar food in Oregon. Place was warm, food was excellent and my family and I got a reason to get dressed up and go out. If in Eugene, make this a pit stop hands down. You won't not be disappointed .

Yelp
I reviewed this restaurant maybe a couple years ago now. I felt it was time for a new one. I had friends in town from afar and decided to take them out for a birthday dinner. Two of us ordered the same thing - it was the orchiette puglesi. I may have spelled that incorrectly, but basically it's these little ear shaped pastas with nice spicy sausage pieces of sundried tomatoes, and broccoli rabe (like broccolini but slightly bitter) in a delightful light sauce, probably butter based. The pasta was cooked to my perfection, al dente. Both my friend and myself ate every bite. You'll see the photo attached. The other person in our party had the meatball appetizer and a Caesar salad. He was very pleased with both. So you may ask, why only four stars? Two reasons. The first being our red Cabernet Sauvignon wine was rather chilly. Both of us prefer our red wine at room temperature. It still was a delicious wine. The other reason was because one of our desserts, a pistachio ice cream with a of caramelized top, was very, very frozen and icy. The tiramisu, on the other hand and a chocolate mousse were very delightful. Service was excellent and attentive. We enjoyed our evening tremendously and it is certainly on the list of my favorite restaurants. Another issue is the difficulty in parking. The spaces are so very close together if you can even find one. Despite being there on a Thursday evening, even the street parking was full. I don't think the restaurant can do very much about that so it's really not fair to criticize them. I guess it's just to put it in your awareness of parking can be difficult.

Yelp
The vibe is a bit like a Mediterranean beach house I suppose. The service is friendly and helpful. The kind of place where they have the complex specials memorized. You might want to make a reservation, but at 5:30pm on a Sunday night we had no trouble getting a table for two. You can sit outside on a shady patio, or inside. Acoustic ceiling features helped dampen noise. It's a nice place for a romantic dinner. Foodwise, I really enjoyed my Bistecca, mashed potatoes and asparagus. The Lemon Lavender mocktail was good but nothing special. My husband really liked his Tagliatelle Bolognese.

Yelp
Epic meal experience! 4 of us sitting down to a meal, each with our own dietary concerns and everyone was thrilled! WIN! We made a good attempt to try as many dishes as we could and everything was fantastic! Our server really knew the food and the wine list and took great care of us! We even had limonchello and coffee after dinner. The restaurant has an "outdoor patio" that is enclosed along with an indoor space. We sat outdoors and we're completely comfortable. We will certainly be back for our next Italian fix!!

Yelp
Favorite place in daEug. I've not had anything bad. It's all good. Been plenty of times as well.

Yelp
I really enjoy the ambiance and service at this restaurant. Our waitress (Camille maybe?) was very authentic and sweet. Each time I am seated in a tucked away corner which is quiet and enjoyable. The buratta and prosciutto appetizer is a huge portion and so worth the price! It makes me feel like I'm in Bologna Italy. The pasta dishes are always excellent.

Yelp
Cafe Med is a gem!! I love the cozy space of the restaurant and the careful attention to details. Wine, appetizers, entrees, and dessert were all decadent and delicious. They even were able to serve us hot Grand Marnier for a fun celebration with desert. Best of all, the service was impeccable. So kind, fun, and accommodating. I would definitely come here again!

Yelp
Food was delicious! Staff were very welcoming and friendly! Will definitely visit here again when we're in town!

Yelp
Omg. I love ! The atmosphere is romantic the service was excellent. Our server Camille was very attentive and fun. We had fungi papardelle and the rib eye. The rib eye was cooked to perfection & seasoned perfectly. I loved the focaccia too. Sorry no pics this time !!!

Susan S.

Yelp
My husband and I chose to share a salad and a main dish. The Arugula Salad was excellent. However, for our main dish ($35) we ordered the ravioli stuffed with crab and lobster. We were served 7 ravioli with less than a teaspoon of crab mixture in each one! A huge disappointment, Cafe Med!

Yelp
Came to cafe med tonight for Mother's Day dinner and was very happy with the experience! The inside of this restaurant is super cute. Blue and white decor with string lights and rustic art. There's an outdoor covered patio as well as indoor seating. The menu had a wide selection of options, not just pasta. I loved the focaccia bread that came in the bread basket. So salty and oily. Delicious. For Mother's Day they gave mothers the option of a Bellini or mimosa on the house which I thought was so sweet! My family really appreciated that gesture. The food was super flavorful and tasted very high quality. Portions are large and filling. Service was great. Food came out fast and we felt very welcome and accommodated. Overall definitely come here if you want good Italian food or are wanting to impress some visitors!

Yelp
My partner and I went here for date night and enjoyed the food and vibe of this place. I got the papperdelle and it was fantastic. The mushrooms tasted fresh and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The bread that they gave was also delicious and we had to be careful not to fill up on it before we got our food. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. We had a table outside in the corner. It was nice and private which we liked, but it was a bit loud from the building next door - I think it was their air conditioning unit that was making all the noise. Nothing Cafe Med can do about it, just something to note if you're sensitive to sounds like that. I also strongly recommend making a reservation especially if you plan on going at peak times because they fill up quickly and this is not food you want to miss out on. It was fairly pricey to dine here, which is fine for a date night or as a treat every once in a while, but I can't afford to make a habit of going here regularly. The parking situation can also be difficult because of how small their lot is and how many businesses are around them. Just another reason to go during the quiet times when nobody else is eating dinner though!

Yelp
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Loved the Pink Martini soundtrack. I have celiac and there were plenty of gluten free options to choose from. The chocolate mousse is to die for. If I were local, I would become very fat and very broke and it would be worth it!
google avatar

Katherine R.

Yelp
Lovely lil pasta spot with Mediterranean vibes! I only knock off one star due to the noise - as other reviews have mentioned, this place is *loud*. No acoustics. Dinner time is very very loud compared to other restaurants mostly due to the small space. Pasta is DELICIOUS. The spinach ravioli was to die for, and the daily risotto with pesto and shrimp was a hit as well. Delicious Limencello martini!
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
I think we have a favorite new spot for a romantic dinner. The place has two small rooms - packed, bustling and loud, but in an exciting way. Everyone is smiling and happy and having a great time. We feel attractive in the perfect soft light. The food is exceptional. My husband had the tagliatelle Bolognese. It was delicious. Bolognese usually tastes of tomato and not much else. This had a lot of savory flavor and was so good. The proprietress caught us on the way out. She was smiling and in the zone. She asked how it was. I told her honestly it was great, and I told her that her prices are too low. Our two pastas, side of fries, limoncello martini and cappuccino came to $64. She laughed and agreed. "I'm working on it." she smiled.

Yelp
Ok this is my new first choice for Italian. Lasagna is usually the first dish I try when there is a new Italian place because I always try to see if I can get lasagna that is as good as the lasagna that my friend's Italian mother taught me to make in Italy. Well, here it is! In Eugene too! The family running it and the chef are from Italy so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. My husband got the farfalle with salmon. He enjoyed it a lot, the pasta was perfectly al dente and the vodka sauce compliments the salmon well! When we asked if the pasta was made in house we were told the pasta is made in Italy and flash frozen and sent to Eugene for the restaurant, how cool! They bring you focaccia bread and balsamic and oil before the meal that was also delicious. The service was also great! We were not disappointed with anything. The space is small inside and probably seats about 24 total plus a few bar seats. They have an additional sunroom type outdoorish seating area that probably seats another 12-15 more. So reservations are definitely a good idea especially as more people discover this gem. The interior has a good ambiance it feels nice but not so fancy that you'd need to dress up a ton. It does get loud in there when it is full so they could probably use some sound dampening to help with the noise. This place is also located about a stones throw from another local Italian place so it will be interesting to see if they affect each other's business or not! I'm looking forward to coming back to try more pasta as well as the classic pinsa made with with '00' flour. 10/10 recommend checking it out!

Yelp
Finally first rate Italian food has arrived in Eugene. Cafe Med brings five star Milanese cuisine to a much in demand community looking for the real thing. We started with the best Caesar salad we could imagine along with an order of the excellent meatball appetizer in a magnificent red sauce. We had three in our party. Each of us had a different homemade pasta for a main course. Wow! Fantastic and wonderfully unique. Next time I will try the halibut or pork scaloppine. We split tiramisu for desert. A great choice. Cafe Med is special. The classy and inviting warm family atmosphere helps make you feel very special too. For Italian cuisine there is no place finer in Eugene.

Yelp
Food 4/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 4/5 One of our favs! Food is intersting. Well prepared and served at proper temp.

Yelp
This is definitely someplace we will be returning. Service was amazing and food was incredible. We had the Greek salad, salmon and mushroom ravioli specials. All were delicious. The atmosphere was so nice, small space but we still felt like we had our own space.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice people, nice food, we all enjoyed it. It has a homey, yet romantic atmosphere. Owner is nice and everything was enjoyable. Even helped me get a table at a time the restaurant was completely booked.

Cindy H.

Yelp
Both the food and service were excellent. Portions were generous. We had a lovely experience
google avatar

Kari Z.

Yelp
The service was excellent, our appetizer was an arancini ball and the sauce was impeccable. My Negroni was delicious. My husband's wine was great. My gnocchi was bland, portion was great. There was no way I was going to finish it. my husband got a pork dish that was similar in quality to my gnocchi - seasoning was off the potatoes were a little weird. When we were offered dessert, they were out of many of the things. We would love this restaurant to be a go to, but only for appetizers and drinks for now.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is doing a LOT of things right. From the variety of food, the service and atmosphere, this is the place for great Italian food. Parking is a little tight, but there is more on the south side of the other building and some street parking behind it. I highly recommend you make reservations as seating is a bit tight. Also, check out the Fried Polenta! Worth the stop when needing an Italian food fix.

Matt T.

Yelp
One of our favorite places to eat in Eugene and #1 for authentic, inspired Italian dining. The food is consistently fantastic. Staff is friendly and attentive. I'd definitely recommend making a reservation over walking in. They can be busy.
google avatar

Ari L.

Yelp
The food is beyond words, I've never had Italian that comes close to Cafe Med. I sat at the bar top, sipped a glass of Noir and enjoyed excellent service. Each server worked together to make sure we were checked on often, which felt very caring. Once the sun went down, the interior l took on a dreamy candlelit atmosphere that felt intimate and still connected at the same time. Will definitely be going back for more!
google avatar

Yelp
We went for our first time to Cafe Med on Valentine day and it was amazing! We were so impressed with everything! From the amazing service to the choice of food on the menu. It was nice that they didn't restrict the menu to just a few items, it was a full menu. I had the gnocchi with gorgonzola and spinach... DELICIOUS! My husband had the ribeye with fries... again DELICIOUS! It had a nice crust to the steak & great flavor! The fries were perfectly crispy. It was all so delicious that I forgot to take a picture! We will be back & yes, we highly recommend going!

Yelp
What a treat. Old school Italian from a family with delicious, authentic food in a cool setting with great service. Felt like a recent trip to Italy. The pasta and risotto were really great, fresh salads, interesting cocktails. Also recommend the chocolate mousse for dessert. All in all we can't wait to go back.

Yelp
My cousin was in town visiting and she was wanting pasta for dinner. I had heard great things about Cafe Med and convinced her to give it a try. We called to check if we could get a table - not until 8pm. Too late for us so we made a reservation for the next night; which filled up because we called to see if we could push it back by half an hour and not possible. The food was incredible. Starting with the pillowy soft bread to dip in the tangy and fruity olive oil & balsamic vinegar, with just the right amount of salt on the crust. My chopped scallops with linguine was so simple but bursting with flavor. My cousin got mushroom ravioli which she really enjoyed. We didn't stay for dessert because by the time we had finished our dinner we were desperate to leave. Cafe Med is a small place and they have maximized seating. But haven't done anything to soften the noise. Between the music and cacophony of noisy conversations it was draining to be there. We were seated near the bar and a couple came and got drinks, waiting for their table, and it felt like they were on our shoulders. Our waiter, Sebastian, was so sweet but it appeared he was the only waiter for the inner room & he was a bit frazzled. We had to ask a couple times for bread, he forgot the side of sauce for my cousin. I almost suggested we leave after using the restroom which had a sizable colony of gnats living in there. All in all, I may go back because the food was delicious. But I would choose an odd time so that it would be a bit more peaceful.

Yelp
This place is really really nice. As authentically Italian of an experience I could have besides actually going to Italy. I have to say right away that both my husband and I thought our meals were good. That being said, I couldn't give them 5 starts do to a big 'womp womp' that was entirely my fault. I am a vegetarian and have been for over 10 years. For our outing to Cafe Med, I do what I always do which is look up the menu online and decide on what I am going to order before arriving. I decided on their mushroom ravioli dish since there appeared to be no mention of meat in this dish. Now, what I should have done is confirm this with the waiter before ordering. But I am shy and stubborn, so I just assumed I was about to enjoy an Italian vegetarian ravioli meal. The first couple of bites had me floating in a bliss of savory flavors and creamy textures. I went to cut one of the raviolis in half to share with my husband when I saw it ... meat. Not just meat, but the worst kind of meat for a vegetarian, veal! I was basically eating babies. I was very embarrassed and ashamed by this huge mistake I have just made, but instead of saying anything, I just quickly ate up the remaining of the raviolis. The worst part? IT WAS DELICIOUS. This is not at all on the fault of Cafe Med. I should have asked the waiter what on the menu was vegetarian and he would have happily helped me select something. So I learned a very valuable personal lesson here. But I would still very much like to go back to Cafe Med despite this experience. The next time I will be equipped with questions.

Yelp
I don't do reviews on Yelp often but this time I felt I had no choice, as Cafe Med deserves to have Eugenians from all parts of town know just how superb it is. I had an incredible meal, from service to atmosphere, menu options, taste and presentation. The wait staff were kind and attentive but not over bearing. The menu had a huge number of gluten-free and other food sensitive options. I sat underneath a lit up tree that was making soft squeaking noises at me as I tasted incredible flavors and enjoyed the calm vibe. I felt like I was on a 2 hour Italian vacation. Thanks cafe med! 10/10, I would recommend this spot to anyone.

Rachel C.

Yelp
We have been to Cafe Med a few times now. Everything we have tried has been excellent! One special we had, a mushroom and truffle ravioli, has now turned into a menu item. It's our favorite! Also, wonderful calamari and affogato. Love Cafe Med!!

Derek S.

Yelp
Everything went well- Ambiance, service and food. The owners and chefs are from Milan so authentic Italian from appetizers to dessert, will come back tomorrow for more. The calamari is fresh and the best I've had in a long time.

Yelp
Amazing food and a great experience We were traveling through Eugene and stopped by we didn't have a reservation, but they found a way to see us. We had great food and outstanding wine. This place is amazing.

Yelp
Finally tried this place and loved it, our waitress was amazing, got to meet the chef and loved the food, the bread to snack on is the best focaccia.! Also my pasta dish was amazing!

Ella D.

Yelp
This is the best place I have ever been. For 3 years, my best friend and I have been trying to find a perfect spot. This place blew us out of the water. Delicious drinks, amazing food, and the best service I have ever had. We had a beautiful table and were greeted with great servers and the owners introduced themselves. You could tell they put their heart and soul into this place which is truly seen and adored from visitors like us! I don't have enough kind things to say other than I will come back every week and leaving was even sad!
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Decided to check out this new spot that my boyfriend found last minute. We met the owners and they were soooo welcoming and friendly! The vibe was super cozy and it's a perfect spot for date night. I got the filet mignon while my boyfriend got the pappardelle Al Telefonica, which were both delicious! My filet came out cooked perfectly! We sat in the outdoor patio, which was heated and covered completely! I would suggest making a reservation beforehand though! We were able to get in since we went before the rush, but it was a close call. Will for sure come back to try other items on the menu, and I suggest everyone else give this place a try!
google avatar

Robyn Jo C.

Yelp
Food is beyond delicious and carefully crafted. The service is great and the ambiance is wonderful. Sitting here will transport you to a different time. I have yet to find a menu item that isn't delicious. The rolls of Breasola with a lemon dressing -that is so fresh and full of flavor makes you wonder how something so simple can bring you so much joy. The tiramisu is one of the best I have ever tasted, hands down. YES, it's made in house. Don't you fret, espresso is served! The PINZA! THE PINZA will have you questioning why do we even eat regular "pizza" and have you craving more AND MORE. The family operated staff work well together, ensuring you will leave feeling delightfully satisfied. You will not be disappointed with eating here! Parking might be tricky during busy hours. One of the best places to eat in Eugene.

Yelp
We had a delicious dinner at Cafe Med this weekend. It doesn't look like much on the outside but the internal ambience is like and indoor/outdoor cozy patio. Service was attentive and informative. The food was excellent from the perfectly cooked salmon, the bolognese and the gnocchi. We didn't care for the arancini starter as they were quite large, had peas inside, made from (we think) polenta versus rice (which we are more familiar with) and gad a strong essence of saffron. The Caesar salad was delicious. Would definitely return!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing food, great atmosphere and the service was absolutely top notch! Great way to celebrate our anniversary!

Yelp
We've eaten at Cafe Med a half a dozen times since they opened. The first 3 times were spectacular! The last 3 were not as good. I'm not sure what happened but the quality of the food just wasn't great. One time my wife ordered the salmon and it was raw in the middle. Another time she ordered the ahi and it was served well done floating in a sauce. My go to meal was the filet- delicious the first three times but after that not as good. Perhaps they were using a new food purveyor. I think I've given it as many chances as I can considering it's not an inexpensive restaurant. I'm disappointed that it hasn't been better. The people that own the restaurant are fantastic and Eugene needed options.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was so good! They have GF options and the service was exceptional. Very small restaurant so In wouldn't recommend large parties.

Yelp
Food here was incredible! Service was great! All around fantastic meal! Everything was great I highly recommend if you are in the Eugene area!

Yelp
Cafe Med is a downright lovely experience through and through! It has been on my wishlist for far too long so I had built it up in my head and it was still even better than imagined. It can be tough to find vegan options at nicer eateries and Cafe Med accommodated me without batting an eye. Even more, my dish was fresh, flavorful, and full of perfect veggies. The wine list was well rounded and the salads were diverse. The staff were caring and made us feel really welcome and even surprised us with a treat at the end. I am grateful for the experience and am so happy to live nearby as I will be back again and again! There is so much heart in the place - thank you!

Adriane T.

Yelp
What a jem of a spot. Family owned and operated. Cozy atmosphere. Amazing food and service. Our server, Ocean was knowledgeable and prompt AND so personable. He shared with us the family and restaurants history dating back 100 years to Milan Italy. The cuisine is legit Italian. They made us feel like we were part of the family. We will 100% be back and tell everyone to go!!! Thank you Cafe Med!
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant was delicious! Don't let the look of the restaurants exterior fool you. The food and service was amazing! My friend and I ordered the tortellini and lasagna, respectively. Both of these dishes were amazing! The sauces were light, fresh and smooth. I loved that the pasta tasted fresh made. The serving sizes were perfect. The prices were on the upper end but well worth it. I can not wait to return to sample more menu items.
google avatar

Sara R.

Yelp
Delicious food and plentiful portions. Excellent service as well! It is best to make reservations, though, since it can be busy even on weeknights.

Marissa M.

Yelp
Cute little place with friendly staff. Great specials. They do have a small off menu selection for kids upon request.

Yelp

Yelp
My friends and I dined at Cafe Med last night. Our reservation was honored and we were promptly seated. Our server, Crystal, was very professional and friendly. Service was excellent. Our Triicolore salad was fresh with just the right amount of dressing. It was large enough to be shared, as are most menu items. My partner and I shared the Farfalle with Salmon, it was tasty and more than enough for two. Our friends reported that the Pork Scaloppine was cooked perfectly and finished with a creamy wild mushroom sauce. We shared a Tiramisu, which although it could have used some rum, was rich and flavorful. The corkage fee is $20. Didn't see a wine for less than $45 on the wine list. We met the owner and told her how wonderful our experience was. If they can maintain this level they will be one of the top restaurants in Eugene.
