Google
Cafe Mei has the most authentic Taiwanese breakfast! The mayo in the toast tastes exactly the same as what I had in Taiwan! Please try all their items, they would meet your expectations of Taiwanese breakfast

Went in as the place opened at 8am on a Sunday. No problems with parking, no lines inside and we were the first ones in. Food was solid. I had Black pepper teppan noodles Taiwanese milk tea Taro & pork sung/floss sandwich (pork sung/floss or bak hu, is a cut meat stewed in sweetened soy sauce & other spices, then dried) Service was self-service, but the lady taking the order was friendly. And the orders were ready for pick up quickly. After more people came in, order numbers started to be called out for pickup through a PA system. Atmosphere was solid. Just general customer chatter, no music background other than the sounds of a Chinese news channel. But all perfectly good setting for chatting with others.

Google
This is a Taiwanese breakfast shop with burger , sandwich , iron noodle and pancake . Not only Taiwanese people like it, Japanese people like it too , because the bread is very soft and similar to Japanese bread. I usually order burgers + eggs, but if I'm in a hurry, I will order small sandwiches. They even have taro & Meat floss sandwiches, sweet mixed salt , how fun ! The milk tea is delicious, thick and milky. Business hour is short around 2 pm only .

I stopped by Cafe Mei in Fremont for a quick breakfast and tried their Signature Pork Sung Sandwich. Wow, what a treat! The sandwich was perfectly toasted, with a flavorful pork patty, fresh cucumber, and that sweet mayo that ties it all together. It felt like a true taste of Taiwan, just like the reviews mentioned. The staff was super friendly, and the vibe was cozy yet trendy. Only wish they had longer hours for us late risers! Highly recommend for anyone craving an authentic Taiwanese breakfast sandwich.

Google
The workers are very nice and easy to order. The breakfast sandwiches are so good!! The tuna and the signature sandwiches are delicious! They're toasted perfectly. We also got the corn chowder and it was light but refreshing. I had to go back and get a to go sandwich with ham. The bread is so light and eating them was addicting. Will be coming back as a regular for sure

Google
As a Taiwanese, they do serve very authentic Taiwanese breakfast!! I love the egg roll the most! And the sandwich and daikon cake were good too. The staffs were very nice and the dine-in environment was clean. Highly recommended!

Google
Friendly staff, especially Grace is very passionate. Tasty and authentic black pepper teppon noodle, classic Taiwanese milk tea and corn chowder there. Tastes like Taiwan. Will definitely come next time.

Google
Super excited to try this place since I love the breakfast sandwiches in Taiwan which are so simple but absolutely delicious. Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 - missed our order of Original Taiwanese Pancake (TW Crepe w/ egg) even though we reminded him to add this again when he read the order back to us :((( Togo House Special Sandwich (ham, egg, and cucumber) and Togo Signature Sandwich (pork, ham, egg, and cucumber) 5/5 - are pretty yummy overall. The bread seems like a milk bread that is soft and fluffy with a slight sweetness to it. Fairly conservative with the mayonnaise and cucumber. The pork is very flavorful compared to everything else so it seems overly salty in comparison Daikon (Turnip) Cake 3/5 - is not fried as much as we would like and it's a tiny portion. Appreciate that the pieces were cut into bite sized and could actually be dipped into the sauce container Black Pepper Teppan Noodle 1/5 - was over cooked. Sauce was nice but the texture of the noodles ruined the overall dish for us. Not sure if it's because we ordered to go but definitely recommend avoiding this dish Milk Tea with quarter sugar is good. You can taste the tea more but my sister says it tastes really water down because it's not sweet Ambience: N/A - ordered food to go. Crazy plaza for parking and the shop was super busy Service: N/A - attempted to order online through our phone but it had an error on checkout process. Then tried to order online from a computer and when checking out, it says that the online order option is closed. So called in our order through the phone. Not sure if language issue but he had a little difficulty understanding or hearing us Value for price: 3/5 - only get the sandwiches and avoid everything else! There seems to be slightly different names for these dishes online vs in the store so not sure if that's causing some confusion too. Daikon vs turnip cake. Taiwanese pancake vs crepe

Yelp
Came here around 930am on a Saturday the line moved fast. Loved the food! You essentially order and seat yourself. I was surprised by how many people there were that moved in and out for such a small cafe. Here's what I got(: Toasted signature pork sandwich: 10/10 this was so tasty. I loved the thinly sliced onion Pork Sung Crepe: 9/10 good texture and came with a nice dipping sauce that was garlicky and sweet Soy milk black tea: 10/10 I got this at 25% sweet and they really mean it! lol I'd probably get it at 50% next time

Yelp
We were in town to check out Cal, my husband's alma mater, and actually take a tour around the campus. My husband found a Taiwanese breakfast joint to check out. We happily went. The place is in a nice big shopping center with plenty of parking. The parking lot was pretty packed by the time we went. There were already several people there when we got to the entrance. The place was packed. We ordered several things like their dan bing (egg crepe), soy milk, etc. The food was good but the table was little too small for all the things we ordered. The place was so packed tightly like a sardine can. I understand this is probably the only Taiwanese place around but I could barely get around the actual restaurant. We were seated by the window but I had to get out of my seat and weave myself through any spot just to get the plastic utensils all the way across the restaurant. That's not a good feeling. There were also a lot of people standing around waiting for their to-go orders as well, complicating the maximum capacity of the place. The lady checking people in told us the place was better than the places in Taiwan. This is Taiwanese breakfast. You can't beat the originals in the home country. My entire family was just in Taiwan as well. Not a great selling point. Just say, instead, the food tastes just like what you would find in Taiwan. Trying to oversell the place when the environment doesn't feel inviting. I'm happy Taiwanese food is reaching a wider audience and there's practically no other Taiwanese breakfast around with the amount of people waiting to eat there. Need to clean up the ambience for sure. I'm counting down the days I go back to Taiwan for freshly made breakfast.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this breakfast spot on a whim when another cafe nearby we wanted to have a girls' brunch didn't have any seating. It was quite crowded when we arrived around noon but managed to snag a seat in the back! With four of us, it was really snug and close but we were just happy to find seating to eat. I am always a fan of finding Taiwanese food spots as a nod to my ancestry and nothing like Taiwanese breakfast foods to bring you back to childhood memories of visiting the motherland. I had a pork sung crepe while my friends ordered the noodles and the tuna sandwich. The pork sung crepe was authentic and truly delicious and the hot soy milk was fine (it was just average but can't expect Fu Hang level soy milk outside of Taiwan!) Service was quick and ordering via the kiosk touchscreen was efficient. Only gripe would be how crowded it is with seating inside, it really felt like we were shoulder to shoulder with other customers. We finished our lunch and headed over to another spot for drinks and were able to sit and chat longer. It felt too crowded to hangout long at Cafe Mei but definitely a good spot to eat!

Yelp
Omg can there be another Cafe Mei closer to me! Insert sad emoji here. Ever since I tried a Taro + Pork Floss sandwich at a boba place that is no closer, I have been on a hunt. Thank you Yelp for letting me find this spot, because I keep coming back for more! This Taiwanese cafe is located in a plaza full of other shops and restaurants so there are definitely a lot of choices, but if you're looking for something light and convenient, definitely check out Cafe Mei. They have plenty of seating inside and parking isn't too bad. However, do they get really busy so I suggest you place an online order in case you don't have the time to wait. Their Taro Pork Sung sandwich is everything you expect for the name. The texture and flavors really balance each other out; especially being in between soft bread. I love the light sweet, starchy taste from the Taro and the crunchy, flavorful pork floss together. It's a flavor combination that definitely gets my taste buds dancing! I also tried their Corn Chowder soup and that was delicious. It's comforting and a perfect soup for those upcoming cold days. They also offer drinks and other sandwiches and savory crepes, but if there is one thing I highly recommend, it is their Taro Pork Sung Sandwich!!!

Yelp
Stopped by here for food after being in Fremont for some tasks. I was craving Taiwanese breakfast and loved how conveniently located this place is! I got the toasted signature pork sandwich, corn & tuna & bacon crepe, and an iced soy milk. I loved all the layers and the sauce of the signature sandwich. Every mouthful was a delight! I think the flavors are a perfect combination and are sandwiched wonderfully between the soft white bread! I sometimes struggle with eating a full sandwich, but I ate every bite of this one because it was so good I couldn't stop until I was all out. I ate the crepe the next day so it wasn't as fresh, and I didn't like it as much (I think tuna is not my favorite in general). I had the soy milk along with the sandwich, and wowwwww. Not too sweet, just the right amount of cold, and rich soy milk goodness. Trying to make additional plans in the Fremont area so I can come back here for breakfast There's a good amount of seating inside, but you can order to dine in or take out. There's both a kiosk to order at as well as a cashier to take your order.

Yelp
Classic Taiwanese breakfast! There aren't many places that serve these in the states, so I'm thankful this place is open. The Egg Crepe with Corn, Tuna, and Bacon is snack sized. It's already cut into slices, so it's easier to eat. Every bite had all the fillings + green onions. Never had this combination of fillings before and it was a fun experience. It was lightly salted that paired well with the stronger flavors in the dipping sauce, which was garlicky, sweet, and tangy. Toasted Signature Pork Sandwich - 3 layers of fillings between 4 slices of bread. It had pork, ham, egg, cucumber, tomato, onion, and mayo. The meats are savory and juicy, especially the pork patty. The veggies are so fresh and the mayo brings everything together. The bread is well toasted, not soggy at all, and held all the fillings firmly. All crusts are cut off and the entire sandwich is cut in half for easier eating too - much appreciated. The breakfast items were not too heavy, but still filling. The Black Pepper Noodle with Egg is teppan style, which reminds me of the night markets with hot sizzling metal plates. It has minced pork, mushrooms, caramelized onions, garlic, and black pepper sauce. The mouth-watering sauce is so savory and fragrant. Lots of black pepper, can really taste and see it. I love how saucy this dish is and the noodles really soaked up the flavor well. Definitely get the extra fried egg on top, it's part of the classic experience. HUGE portion size, ended up splitting it into 3 meals (no complaints here!). Iced Milk Tea. I got the larger size 20oz/700cc (smaller size is 16oz/500cc). You can also make additional customizations for the sugar and ice levels. Mines was 50% sugar, no ice. Perfect amount of sweetness to me where you can still taste the tea more. It had good strength, not watered down. Super refreshing after a hot meal. You also get a $0.50 discount on the drink with a meal order. Great menu selections, website was easy to navigate. Convenient to place an order online and pickup. Fast service, everything was ready when we arrived. Takeout containers have cute stickers. They have cozy and trendy vibes with authentic flavors. Really makes me miss the tastes of Taiwan!

Yelp
wow i haven't been here for a hot min and i gotta say that it's even better now! breads are softer now which makes it even closer to the taiwan taste!!! and they now have tuna and egg burger??? damn nostalgic to the max! it was always a treat when my mom let me get mei er mei in elementary school! one signature sandwich, one house sandwich and one tuna and egg burger - pure heaven!

Yelp
Whenever I visit Fremont, Cafe Mei is always in my mind when it comes to breakfast options. Their Taiwanese breakfast sandwiches simply can't be beat. I'm honestly a bit shocked there are no other Taiwanese breakfast sandwich options in the entire Bay Area -- not one! I've tried a handful of their sandwiches, but the one I keep coming back to is the taro and pork floss sandwich. This is one of their larger, more expensive sandwiches, but I love the contrast of the salty pork floss with the smooth, more muted flavor of the taro filling. The squared-off, fluffy slices of white bread used for all their sandwiches are best enjoyed un-toasted in my opinion. Lastly, I also love that you can customize any of their drink options. Their hot, sugarless milk tea is the perfect option for anyone not looking for a sugar rush for breakfast. Definitely recommend trying out Cafe Mei if you're in the area.

Yelp
Plenty of parking in the lot. Fair amount of indoor seating. Clean interior. Service was speedy and extremely friendly! Prices were very reasonable. We shared the togo signature sandwich, radish cake, pork sung crepe, and black pepper teppan noodle. The sandwich was pretty solid, I liked the soft fluffy bread and the fact that was it was very light. Radish cake was pretty standard and came with a garlic dipping sauce. Pork sung crepe was pretty good and also came with a garlic dipping sauce. The black pepper teppan noodles were probably my favorite! Noodles had good texture and dish overall had good flavor. Would come back - the food was super comforting and not too heavy!

Yelp
Cafe Mei is quite famous -- it's a recognizable name and was on Taiwan news shortly after it opened, and my relatives in SoCal asked me about it knowing I live in the Bay Area! I had already had Cafe Mei a few times (so delicious) and didn't think my relatives would be interested but was excited to hear otherwise! So I picked up several to-go sandwiches for them on a trip down and kept the sandwiches with ice in a cooler and they were still in perfect condition after the ~7 hour drive. There's no other place that's able to encompass / execute the exact flavors of Taiwanese sandwiches. Count me impressed if my relatives from Taiwan said so, hah. My favorite sandwiches are their signature and special to-go sandwiches and the toasted sandwich. These are all cravable, even from out of town. I also like their daikon cake (although on the "soggier" side, the flavors are on the mark, which is hard to find in the Bay Area), the egg wraps (no need for the extra fillings like tuna, etc. imo, stick with the classic), and their corn soup (very homey feeling.) Their milk tea is also very classic and reasonably priced. Their food, however, is overall a bit pricier but very typically Bay Area priced. I've always ordered online for pick up. Particularly when it's less busy, workers will kindly greet you from the back. Otherwise, just grab your items yourself on the shelf and make sure you also grab napkins/chopsticks/etc. on the opposite wall. Typically pretty bustling inside. I just wish they opened every day of the week and opened for slightly longer hours.

Yelp
What a HIDEEN GEM!!! Which genius came up with this idea, slapping Taro & Pork Sung together on a sandwich!?! I can totally eat like 5 of these by myself, hahaha (okay, realistically speaking, maybe 2!) Their Toasted Signature Pork Sandwich is also good! However, I would have much preferred the soft toast instead of the toasted one. I'll definitely return for more and explore the other delicacies!~

Yelp
Low-key comfort Taiwanese cafe food w/ gentrified Bay Area pricing $$. Original Taiwanese crepe: not much crisp to it. Kinda small, street-food-like portion. Just alright overall. Toasted ham & egg sandwich: I'm guessing one reason people are loyal to this spot is because of the bread. Bouncy and lightly toasted! Neatly placed filling but nothing much to write home about in terms of taste. Almost everyone around me at the cafe had a sandwich in hand lol. Hot soy milk black tea: very soothing! Fan of the soy milk used (silky smooth), but could've had a stronger tea flavor. Casual medium-sized cafe and it was filled with families when I visited on a Sunday. Staff was pretty slammed at the time (lots of takeout orders!) and parking got pretty full by 11 am.
google avatar

Ann T.

Yelp
Affordable smaller restaurant with efficient service! I ordered takeout at the restaurant for three people and they told me how long to expect to wait. Taro with pork floss sandwhich was so good!

Yelp
TAIWAN'S ICONIC !~ i'm so jealous it's in fremont, i'm a sj resident. I absolutely love this limited seating cafe, its ambiance, and their DELICIOUS comforting food! the staff work very efficiently and are kind, welcoming people! i love that this cafe welcomes everyone with open arms and doesn't fail to satisfy. you can also order online for pick up or use self ordering kiosk. i've tried a few of their sandwiches; Togo Sig. Sandwich, Togo House Special, Togo Pork Sung, Togo Ham and Cheese, Toasted Ham and Egg Sandwich, and Toasted Pork Sung Sandwich. ALL are amazing! I highly recommend to try out the whole menu, seriously lol. I definitely will be visiting often and can't wait to try their popular crepes, burgers, black pepper noodle and more!

Yelp
Authentic Taiwanese Breakfast finally can claim its "the best Taiwanese Food" in California (Sorry the one in Tustin CA doesn't beat this). They have simple menu unlike other Asian ethnic restaurants that tried to serve everything yet screwed everything, they are just focusing on one thing, delivering traditional Taiwanese breakfast experience here. Taiwanese grilled egg sandwiches, hamburgers, and egg cakes with pork sung. It may seem pricey when compared with the prices that they charged in Taiwan, however, this is Silicon valley and the quality of the ingredients that they served is quite justifiable for the price. Service is excellent too, thanks for the store manager May took good care of me makes me felt like I am eating at the local Taiwanese breakfast shop
google avatar

Hoang N.

Yelp
Walk in, order on machine on your left, wait for your number and pickup food. Good amount of tables for big or small group. Good breakfast, Taiwan milk tea (not Hong Kong style).
google avatar

Yelp
Can't believe I waited so long to come here. Had wanted to check it out since opening and it's a shame I didn't until now. Definitely planning to return often as it was legit authentic good. Got the hot soy milk and toasted egg sandwich and couldn't believe how good it was!!
google avatar

Winnie L.

Yelp
I haven't been here in a year and had a sudden craving. Nothing gets me out of bed early on a Saturday morning than knowing I'm gonna get some good breakfast. Made the 40 min drive to get here. It was full but people were leaving and tables opened up. Taro Pork Sung Crepe with Egg, Bacon Cold Soy Bean Milk My go to favorites here. It's all made to order fresh so it's always fresh. Many people order for pick up which is why it took a little long for the food to arrive. We were still hungry afterwards esp playing so much tennis this week and ordered more. By the time we left around 12, there was a line to order and people waiting along the wall for tables to open up. Get here early!

Yelp
This place is definitely a hidden gem!!! Everything is so good and tastes just like my childhood

Yelp
Taiwanese cafe that has very authentic sandwich, crepes, radish cakes and other specialty food and drinks. The cafe is open early. The sandwiches are very nostalgic of the Taiwan experience. The sandwiches are made with the softest milk bread and filled with pork floss, eggs, veggies, ham, etc. The most unique sandwich is the taro and pork floss. I would actually get it as a dessert and eat it over several sessions as it's a large sandwich. The go to sandwich is the egg, pork floss, cucumber and mayo sandwich. It's delicious! The crepes and radish cake come with a nice garlicky sauce. Plenty of parking. Casual. Good service. Please come and create your own adventure

Yelp
This place was absolutely popping on a Sunday! We went in around 11AM and there were two lines - one to sit down and another to order from a kiosk. The Kiosk line was really busy so we ended up moving over to a person when she came by the podium. We were ordering to go - one house special to go sandwich, two soy milks, one pork hamburger, taiwanese style egg and scallion crepe, and radish with egg. I would recommend no egg with the radish cake because its literally just a fried egg thrown on top of the radish cake. I also wish it was crispier - but other than that it was hot and fresh and tasty. Sandwich was mid, love them way more from taiwan but the bread was nice and bouncy and soft, just didnt have much flavor in the ham or the cucumer. Crepe was delightful and really filling, would order again. Husband loved the pork burger - it really reminded us of eating in Taiwan so it was pretty tasty. Soy milk very rich and creamy! We got fifty percent sweet and next time i might go for 75%. In total with 15 percent tip we paid about $43.

Yelp
Chanced upon Cafe Mei while looking for breakfast places that opened prior to 9AM and am super glad that we gave it a try. We arrived on a Saturday morning a bit before 9AM. It wasn't busy at all so it was fairly easy to put in our order then take a seat. When your order is ready, they will call you up to the counter to get it. My friend and I decided to share: Taro/Pork Sung Sandwich - this was delicious. It was a great blend of savory with a hint of sweet. It was also a great blend of textures. Definitely recommend. Toasted Signature Pork Sandwich - this was like any other sandwich to be honest. There wasn't anything particularly special per say but it was solid. Radish Cake - comes with a garlic sauce. Solid, good texture, and good flavor. Soy Milk - you can adjust the sweetness for this but keep in mind that their sweetness levels are not the same as a boba shop. It is a lot less sweet than most places. I would recommend getting this at 100% sweet. Overall, I would definitely come back. Would recommend.

Yelp
I absolutely love Cafe Mei! They're popular for their Taiwanese breakfast sandwiches that make for a quick grab and go breakfast or midday snack. They also have a decently sized seating area if you want to wind down and eat your food. Service is usually very quick as you order right when you enter, sit down, and wait for either your order to be called or a nice staff member will bring out your food. My go-to is always the Taro Pork Sung Sandwich ($8.75). You would never expect taro and pork sung to pair well together, but it's such a delicious combo in this sandwich! They also put just the right amount so no ingredient is overpowering the other. It's encapsulated in a white bread that's pillowy soft and melts in your mouth. It's so easy to devour this sandwich and it'll leave you satisfied! I only wish that the cafe was open longer since they're only open from 8am-2pm, but nevertheless super delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
Very authentic Taiwanese dishes in Fremo t. Wished they open in San Francisco. They serve all the traditional Taiwanese breakfast eats. Loved their Dan Bing and black pepper noodles. Will definitely come back. My doggie gives it 4 paws up.
google avatar

Jina M.

Yelp
Really tasty sandwiches. Has that yummy Asian Japanese sandwich flavor. The serving sizes are really tiny though so make sure to order more than you usually would. The Togo sandwiches are basically half of a very small crustless sandwich. The price seems high for the amount of food but it's definitely yummy and high quality. Good service too. Can't complain
google avatar

Valerie T.

Yelp
Whenever I hear something from Taiwan is opening in the Bay Area you bet I'm excited! I go back to Taiwan every year to visit my grandparents and Taiwanese sandwiches were a staple for me growing up. While it's unclear whether they're part of the Cafe Mei franchise in Taiwan, their sandwiches are still just as good as the ones in Taiwan. The bread is so soft and moist! I've tried the Taro Pork Sung Sandwich and the Togo House Special Sandwich. I love almost anything taro, and the fresh taro complements perfectly with the pork sung. I would also recommend not toasting the Togo House Special Sandwich so you can enjoy the soft bread! I'd recommend ordering ahead or coming early as they're pretty popular especially around mealtimes, and they close at 2 PM. I do wish they were open longer!
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
Still great Taiwanese breakfast! We arrived for Sunday lunch and it was a little busy. Ordered online ahead for pick up. We like their signature pork sandwich (looks basic but flavors are amazing), egg crepes (the garlicky soy paste is so good with it), and black pepper noodles. Their pork floss taro sandwich is also yummy if you are into savory and sweet at the same time. Someone in my party accidentally dropped their sandwich on the ground and could only save half of it. Asked if we could have a new one and they said no. I understand since it was kind of our fault, but it would've been nice if they could actually just give us a new one lol.
google avatar

Quynh L.

Yelp
If I could go here everyday for breakfast, I WOULD!!!! I've been using the online order and pick-up system here, and it's a game-changer. It's super convenient and fast, making it easy to grab a bite on a busy day. My go-to favorites are the Toasted Signature Sandwich and the Pork Sung Pancake. The sandwich is a flavor masterpiece with its three layers that perfectly complement each other. I love the lightly crispy outside of the sandwich bread, which is incredibly soft when you bite into it. The Pancake is OHHH SO GOOD!!! if you're into taiwanese pancake breakfast then you will love this! It's soft, comes with different fillings and the sauce is garlicky but so tasty. Highly recommend giving them a try!
google avatar

Linda M.

Yelp
Restaurant is popular. Service is quick considering how many people are there. I was really excited to try the pork and taro sandwich, but I was not impressed. I didn't even want to eat it actually. The egg crepe was ok, but same not super impressed. I'm surprised honestly what's all the hype. Maybe I'm just not into this type of cuisine? Anyways just throwing in my two cents. There are tables, but they are all filled and it's quite crowded. I wouldn't love to eat in that environment and would rather take food to go. The restaurant is order at a kiosk not table service.

Yelp
3.5 stars Wow, this plaza gets super busy on weekends. The parking lot is packed. The restaurant is also busy , there was a line out the door and the sign said 30 minute wait for food. I ordered the : Signature sandwich - comes with white bread , pork patty , egg and mayo. It comes in a half portion and a ton of white bread. This is a classic combo and filling. Egg crepe with green onion - comes with a sweet soy sauce. Husband enjoyed this Taro pork sung sandwich - unique sandwich , but not my favorite combination. Soymilk (hot) - not too sweet. This concept is unique as this is Taiwanese breakfast. Food didn't blow me away though, however it is fresh.
google avatar

Jack D.

Yelp
Taiwanese breakfast is hard to come by as it is as so few places in the bay area even do it. The food here is solid, wished there were more menu items that you'd find in Taiwanese breakfast spots in Taiwan like rice rolls, fried donuts, sweet peanut milk, etc. Ill always support Taiwanese owned restaurants that offer good food.
google avatar

Claire L.

Yelp
I've been craving Taiwanese sandwiches since coming back from Taiwan and this place really hits the spot! We came in at 11am and ordered at the kiosk. Servers were super friendly and hospitable. It felt very homey. Sandwiches were exactly what I was craving. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
This place filled my soul with nostalgia of Taiwanese breakfast. The ambiance and food brought me right back to Taiwan. Upon entering, you can order either at a kiosk or with the cashier. It could get a bit crowded since you order at the entry way, so be prepared with what you want to help move the line. There isn't too much seating. I came early at 9 am and was able to snag a table, but it got really busy as it approached 10 am on a weekend. As for food, we ordered the daikon cake, egg crepe, and corn cheese crepe to share. I got the toasted egg ham sandwich for myself. The egg crepe (Dan bing) came out steaming hot. I liked it better than the corn cheese crepe. The sandwich is toasted to perfection with a light spread of mayo. It's simple, yet absolutely delicious.

Yelp
Super yummy lunch spot! I get the black pepper pork noodles every time, with an extra egg. The bacon egg crepe with the sauce is also delicious. Go early as they close mid afternoon!

Yelp
* Taiwanese breakfast time!!! Tastes same as the Cafe Mei in Taiwan :) *All self-serve; Order at the kiosk, seat yourself, & wait until your number is called to take it to your table (or for to-go) Iced soy milk: perfect amount of sweetness Traditional milk tea: good amount of tea vs milk for those who don't like thicker, milky milk teas Black pepper noodles: Tasty!! The noodles are very soft but not at all soggy Corn, tuna, bacon crepe: Comes w/sauce; I added it all onto the crepe and luckily it wasn't too overpowering in garlic and not too salty; The flavors blend in perfectly and tuna isn't fishy. Awesome breakfast item!!! Signature pork sandwich (toasted): Slight crunch on the outside, lots of good ingredients on the inside Pork burger w/egg: Same as the signature sandwich mentioned above but in a burger form and without ham or cucumber

Yelp
I had the Taiwanese signature breakfast sandwich with grilled pork, egg, ham, cucumber, and special mayonnaise between soft, crustless white bread. It was so delicious, just like the ones in Taiwan. The original egg crepe with onion was on the healthier side, as there was little to no salt, which is actually what I prefer. I find it almost impossible to find saltless options when eating out, so it was quite refreshing. You can always add flavors if you have a heavier palate. I did not try the sauce. Service was great. Ambiance was clean.

Yelp
I would say everything about this spot was amazing except for how much everything cost. One of my favorite breakfasts is Taiwanese breakfast and I was so happy to make it in time before they closed up for the day (come for breakfast-lunch)! The food itself was great, it brought me back to the small stalls and shops in Taiwan but given that it is Taiwanese breakfast, I wasn't expecting the prices to be as high as they were. Although the service and ambiance of the spot were also great as well! Great food, great service, great atmosphere, just know the prices add up pretty quickly

Yelp
Fremont has a variety of Taiwanese foodie spots. My friend would come here frequently when he is back home because it offers authentic Taiwanese breakfast and it reminded him of home. The staff were welcoming and ordering system was easy peasy. This cafe had a delightful atmosphere with affordable, delicious food options. No wonder it was busy and lively, even on a weekday morning. I tried the pork sung sandwich and it was delicious. The soft, fluffy milk bread went perfectly with the egg and pork sung. There was only a small amount of mayonnaise and cucumber, but that didn't bother me since I was too hungry to mind. I paired this with their soy milk and was glad I started my day here. I recommend this spot with my whole heart if you enjoy Taiwanese street food! I will come back here for sure!

Yelp
I needed something quick and easy to eat on the go and decided to drop by to pick up a sandwich. I love that these are an option since not a lot of other places have these convenient options. I ordered the toasted signature pork sandwich and a honey green tea. The sandwich was packed, with 4 layers of toast and fillings! There was tomato, cucumber, ham, egg, and of course pork. The bread was perfectly toasted as well and held up well against the copious amount of fillings. I love how it was presented, with each bite having a bit of everything. The honey green tea paired perfectly with the sandwich and wasn't too sweet. Staff was super nice and helped us find our order upon arriving. The order was made very quickly as well. Even though we did an early takeout order, the place was already pretty full. I can see why it's a popular place!

Yelp
If you're looking for an authentic Taiwanese breakfast spot in the Bay Area, this is a must! I've been missing all the breakfast sandwiches and foods from Taiwan and this really hits the spot. The sandwich is made perfectly and I can't wait to go back to try other foods there!

Yelp
Must come early to get a table since the seats are limited. We came at around 9:30AM and the restaurant was already pretty packed, there was a self service ordering tablet that made the line lead out the door. The food took quite long as we only ordered 2 drinks and 2 entrees. A sandwich and egg crepes. The wait was about 35 minutes total which kinda sucked. Also I didn't really like the seating area inside as the tables are way too close to each other, it feels really cramped inside, and people are always shuffling to get to a seat.

Yelp
Cafe mei is great for to go food that you pre-order online (they didn't pick up the phone for orders). We got the egg crepes and egg and cucumber sandwiches. Both were delish and we wished we order more. We had to wait 10 minutes for our order. Other than that pick up was efficient. The restaurant is located in a mall with many other restaurants- ie parking space may be hard to come by on the weekends.

Yelp
I walked in here shortly after they opened on a weekday and was warmly greeted by the staff in Mandarin. I honestly felt like I was transported to a breakfast cafe in Taiwan - love it! We ordered breakfast to go: Taro veggie sung sando ($8.75) Cheese crepe ($8) Signature sando ($5.5) Soy milk black tea ($4.50; got a $0.50 discount for ordering with a meal) The taro veggie sung was packed between slices of soft bread with the crusts cut off. I've had veggie sung before, but not with taro paste, so it was a nice combo of savory and sweet. I did wish it had a little bit more flavor, but overall, not bad. The cheese crepe is not your traditional French crepe. It's a Taiwanese-style crepe and is clearly indicated on the menu as such. All the crepes come filled with egg and green onion as a base. It's savory and came with a sauce to douse over it. I added some hot spot and it was delicious! Reminded me of breakfasts my mom would prepare for me as a kid. Signature sandwich comes with cucumber, ham, egg, and a pork patty. My boyfriend inhaled it and although he seemed to think it's nothing special, it's a quick and filling meal. I ordered the soy milk black tea without any sugar, and although I appreciated that I was able to do so, the ratio of tea to soy milk tasted off. It was more black tea than soy milk, so in hindsight, I should have just stuck to plain soy milk. Regardless, would definitely come back if I was in the area and wanted a quick bite!

Yelp
Super yummy Taiwanese breakfast spot. So far this is the only place I've discovered that creates Taiwanese breakfast sandwiches and it tastes pretty similar! I would definitely come back! My Taiwanese mom and my husband both liked this place a lot as well! I do wish there was more cucumber on the sandwich tho!

Yelp
We came here for a late breakfast and it was so good! There are multiple small tables inside, so there is plenty of room to sit. They also take orders quickly at the front to eat there or you can get their prepackaged sandwiches to go! We got the toasted signature sandwich and the toasted egg and ham sandwich. Both sandwiches were delicious, but I think the signature one is the best! The ham and egg is just ham and egg, but the signature has vegetables like tomato, onion, and cucumber that add nice texture and freshness to the sandwich. I will definitely come back here!!

Yelp
The food is really good! The drinks are on the pricey side. When you go in, you can order with the staff or self-serve kiosk that is a bit hidden imo. The radish cake was very thin without any radish chunks which I'm not used to. The Taiwanese danbing were really good and the sandwiches too!

Yelp
Finally tried this cafe out! Love Asian themed cafes! We only had time to Order one Sammy, so we got the pork sung Sammy to go. It is not the most filling sandwich, but it's very good. I know I could make something like this myself and at home, but the way they prepare the sandwich is so neatly put and cooked sooo well (the egg) , idk it's still worth the money! Will def come back again soon!
