Montreal’s Most Iconic Foods | Eater Montreal

"Over 50 years old, St-Leonard landmark Café Milano remains a hub for Montreal’s East End Italian community and one of the city’s primo sandwich shops. Diners can’t go wrong with a panino stuffed with steak, sausage, or capicollo — and a mandatory espresso and cannoli for dessert. Now with locations in Laval and the West Island." - Valerie Silva

Chinese Restaurant Chain Opens in Downtown Montreal Serving Rice Noodle Rolls | Eater Montreal

"At 5188 Jarry East I found a limited-time AP sandwich crafted by renowned Montreal sushi chef Antonio Park: a sub packed with steak, kimchi and Swiss cheese, released as part of a Sysco takeout initiative that will feature more chef collaborations in the coming weeks." - Valerie Silva

St-Léonard Italian Fave Café Milano Is Expanding to Laval | Eater Montreal

"I consider the Jarry Street café and eatery a St-Léonard icon that has been operating since 1971 and was founded by Matteo Paranzino; after nearly 50 years it is now preparing its first expansion led by his son Marco Paranzino alongside partners Frank Barreca, Donato Ladogana, and Chris Guerrera. The original location remains open 24 hours and is known for Italian-style espresso and a menu of sandwiches, salads, and desserts — specifically steak, capicollo, meatball, and sausage sandwiches, plus sweets such as filled cannoli, biscotti, and lobster tails." - Tim Forster

Veal Cutlet salad is my go to for lunch. Add bocconcini and fried onions, yum! Chicken nuggets (pictured), fried zucchini sticks, fries, all the desserts- sooooo goooood!!!! The coffee is great.

A great place for some good sandwiches and cannolis with beer on tap!

Food and service was good. We ordered sandwiches and a salad. Sandwiches were great, salad was under-seasoned and lacking some flavour and toppings given the price. But overall really good and i would go back.

I would give these guys a 10-star if I could. I came in from Las Vegas with my band, and our drummer picked this place, and so glad he did. The food was amazing, the staff was super friendly, and we all had a great time. I can’t wait to come back. Oh, and their espresso is to die for! Thanks so much! Michael

The food is good overall, and the sandwiches and sweets are definitely worth trying. Their salads can be great too, but you have to be really specific with your order to get the best result. The only downside is the coffee—it’s a bit on the weak side.

The sandwich was outstanding! The chicken breast was the best I have ever eaten; tender on the inside, mildly crispy on the outside, and flavorful. The bread was light and crunchy, and it had a nice, soft texture on the inside. The seasoning was simple—no greasy, heavy sauces to worry about! Coffee was rich and real; no fake flavors or syrups used! The only caveat was that lunch time service was a little slow because it was uber busy. We will go back and try other items the next time we are in St-Leonard.

Ordered 5 Milano special subs for the family ... What happened to this place? Where's the passion guys? The quality has really dropped. They used to be the best. Not anymore. Barely any meat in the subs, a tone of salad, tasteless and the bread sucks.Total garbage. Never again.

I was really looking forward to a nice, relaxing time at this café, especially since I ordered two drinks and a pastry from them. But when I sat down with my friend and wanted to try a pastry I had bought elsewhere while still being a paying customer they told me to close the box if I wanted to stay. It felt unnecessary and rude, as I had still supported their business and wasn’t taking up space without ordering. Instead of creating a welcoming atmosphere, they made me feel unwelcome over something so small. A café should be about enjoying good food, drinks, and company, not enforcing unnecessary rules that make customers uncomfortable.
