The 12 Best New Restaurants in Mexico City | Eater

"Café Milou is a petite brasserie located on a quiet Condesa street. The classic French menu is simple, but all dishes star local ingredients, from the pork rillettes, terrines, and trout confit to heartier options like roasted chicken or bone marrow with capers. The charcuterie and cheese selection are musts, best enjoyed with a glass from the mostly French wine list." - Natalia de la Rosa

Café Milou is a charming little spot—perfect for starting your morning right. The fruit plate was fresh and beautifully presented, the avocado toast was crafted to perfection, and the lattes were smooth and delicious. Sweet vibes, great flavors, and a cozy atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

Google
Milou is a wonderful, tucked-away cafe on the border of Roma Norte and Condesa. Their prices are affordable and portions are generous for the area. Equally, their coffee and beverages are delicious and the outside atmosphere and street are quiet and cozy. A great place to come with a group for breakfast or brunch.

This review needs an update. This place is just average now. The portions got way smeller than they used to be and the service quality also went down as they decided to expand with the tables at Hugo. Nothing against that, only when you do it and compromise the quality of your service. Also if you need to update your prices do that instead of having something poorly made. I’m leaving the old pictures and the ones from my most recent visit. They weren’t even kind enough to hand me a cloth and got a cappuccino that was prepared with total lack of consideration of the service expected when you go to a restaurant. I could have had better in my home. Totally disappointed and would not recommend this place any more.

We came here for brunch on a weekday and quiet frankly this place pleasantly surprised us. The food was soooo good, we had the seasonal fruit, which was a delicious mango. Even the coffee was great, we had a latte and a cappuccino. For the main meal we ordered a couple of avocado toasts, one with scrambled eggs and one with poached eggs and they were arguably one of the best avocado toasts we have ever had, absolute perfection! Highly recommend this place

One of my most disappointing experiences in CDMX. Service was rude (shocking for CDMX where everyone is friendly and nice). I had to ask for water 3x before I could get it. I tried to order on the way back from the bathroom and the waiter told me to go sit in a rude tone. Once I sat, he didn't even come to take the order. And I actually had to call him again at some point. I ordered cured salmon and poached eggs - There was literally no salt on the dish, and the salmon was inedible and fishy- It tasted like they used old salmon and tossed it. The only acceptable thing was that I told one of the other waiters, a nice one, about the issue. He sought out more information to understand. Unfortunately, he didn't offer to take it off the bill even though I only ate a bite because of how fishy it was.

Google
Cutie little brunch restaurant in condesa area. Ordered scrambled eggs with salmon and it was great, good portion and satiating. Fruit granola was also fresh. Service was great, the staff were all very attentive and friendly.

Google
Delicious French food in a cute little place. The service is really nice and helpful. We got there with some food from the supermarket and they offered to put it in the fridge while we ate. Try the steak tartare, one of the best in the city!

Google
My Benedict was delicious, I ate it very quickly. Was about a 20 minute wait around noon on a Saturday. Delicious latte. Mimosas a bit orange-juicy but we really enjoyed our experience there

Yelp
Loved the breakfast options here! The service was also very good. The staff was attentive. We ordered the lattes, smoked salmon Benedict and the bacon & onion egg on toast and it was perfect. We came here around 11am on a weekday and it wasn't too busy.

Yelp
Horrible service. They took advantage of us as Americans and charged us for food that never came. If you are American do not come here. I have never been so angered over bad service. The waiter also added a 20% tip for himself when he didn't think we saw. Unbelievably rude/

Yelp
Cafe Milou has breakfast down pat. They only have several items on the menu but have done well to ensure everything down to the last chive was perfection. I wouldn't have minded eating here every day. Like many other establishments in CDMX during COVID, employees wore masks, gave hand sanitizer, and checked every guest's temperature before folks are able to sit down. There are a few outdoor tables for open-air dining.

Yelp
The cutest little joint. Great ambiance and the little food we had was also amazing. We shared a fruit bowl and their Benedict.

Yelp
Great brunch, especially when Lardo's wait is too long. Simple egg dishes, great croissants, good coffee.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop. The service wasn't the best but the ambience and aesthetic made up for it.

Yelp
Nice little French café. I've been here for drinks with friends and for brunch on a Sunday. I preferred this place for drinks. They have good wine. I chose the rosé and I loved it. I also tried a desert and it was good. When I came for brunch I found it too expensive and not that delicious. We shared (between 2 people) a bowl of fruit, Benedict eggs and each of us had a pan au chocolat. The bread was delicious. The rest was good but not that amazing. My matcha latte was pure but I thought it lacked flavor. The place is super cozy and it's little so I would probably call to see if there's space before showing up.

Yelp
Beautiful little French bistro in Roma very close to Condesa. We were excited that they were open late for dinner on Sunday. Pro tip: lots of neighborhood restaurants close at 7 or 8 on Sunday nights. We started with the hummus and had the chicken dish and the leeks (Poireaux) in buerre blanc with the cholocat dessert. Staff was wonderful. Paul was great when we told him we speak Spanish but a few of the words on the menu were giving us trouble (marrow and leeks). Everything was fresh and delicious wish we had more time in the city and we would have come for breakfast.

Yelp
I had the best croissant I've ever had in my life (since going to Paris) here. We also had a Croque Monsieur and Eggs Benedict which were quite good. The mimosas are mostly juice (but it's freshly squeezed so delicious) The only reason it got 4 stars is because the wait for the food was really long.

Yelp
This is a charming and buzzing place; with such character inside and out. Old wide plank wood floors, alternating with old but cheery tile. The windows and even walls are open on cool days bringing a wonderful breeze into the restaurant. Breakfast is delicious and varied; staff friendly and helpful.

Yelp
We got here and host was really rude. 20 minutes went by and we asked if we could order coffee and the waiter walked away from us as we were asking. Cute place terrible service. We had to leave unfortunately. Do not recommend

Yelp
Perfect little French cafe! Got a cappuccino and a croissant on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Could have stayed for hours slowly transitioning to their amazing wine list, but for another time! Their homemade butter and jam was really special. Will be back!

Yelp
Excellent food to share, tapas style. Perfect French wines to pair. Great service. Highly recommended for a relaxing meal!

Yelp
Small but delicious menu of classic French bistro/cafe dishes. Their strength were the ones incorporating garden fresh vegetables. A Peas and tomato dish were bursting with flavor and seasoned with a deft touch. The kitchen is tiny but manages to accomplish many culinary fears you would think would require a much larger one. I guess that paring their cooking down to the essence of the primary flavors of each dish works in their favor. Bravo!

Yelp
Good ambience, bread and butter was excellent. Babaganoush was poor, cheese/charcuterie was subpar, lyonnaise was good. Bourguignon was just ok. Would check out other options in the city for dinner.

Yelp
amazing experience in this new wine bar on the edge of Condesa and Roma Norte - you feel transplanted in Paris - with an extensive wine list, great bistro dishes
