The Best Vietnamese Restaurants in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"This polished French Vietnamese white tablecloth spot on Canal dishes swanky entrees like five spice lacquered duck and Vietnamese barbecue catfish, with most dishes incorporating Vietnamese spice and ingredients. Cafe Minh offers banh mi sandwiches at lunch, also on the non-traditional side, with the likes of charcoal pork and garlic beef dressed with sambal aioli and vegetables." - Beth D’Addono

Good food and a relaxed environment. Lots of great options on the menu. I went with the seafood spring roles then the stir fried shrimp. Both were tasty and had some good flavors, but I’d hoped for a bit more spice or zest. The service was immaculate though, so may come back just for that

I’m not gonna lie. This is officially one of my new spots! I’ve been here three times already in the last three months. It was so good yeah… it’s pricey but you pay for what you get. 😏🙈 excellent customer service wonderful food and great service.

Google
What a wonderful dining experience. Who would’ve thought Vietnamese with French flare? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Started off with the Crabtini, followed by Seafood spring rolls, Crawfish cake with corn maux choux. The mains glaze chicken stirfry and Sea scallops & Japanese eggplant with an Asian chili sauce. For dessert the banana crème brûlée is to die for! If you haven’t dined at Cafe Minh…..What are you waiting for?

We went on Valentine’s Day and they had a special menu. I wish they didn’t and the only trace of Vietnamese cuisine was random vermicelli in Bouillabaisse. Food lacked flavor, and service lacked attention. Armature level at both. Given the prices definitely would expect more on both. Best part was comedy, when the waiter explained that Mardi Gras cheesecake had “colorful sprinkles and shit”. Cheesecake was too sweet.

We had heard how good Cafe Minh was, but had never been until last night. We arrived around 5:30 without a reservation, but were still promptly and congenially seated. Our primary server was Andy, who was knowledgeable, consistent, and had plenty of assistance as needed. This was a pro wait staff without pretense. There are two wine lists, one by the bottle the other by the glass, and we were satisfied with the bar's chardonnay and pinot Grigio selections. Every dish we ordered came with its own distinctive sauce or flavor. We sampled the pumpkin puree, which is not your grandma's pumpkin soup. We shared the perfectly fried calamari with a sweet side sauce, rather than the marina to which many of us are used. We shared an exceptional steamed mussels, where the sauce was enhanced by the fresh spices and fresh vegetables. Minh provides a whole small loaf of fresh bread for dipping as well. my wife also ordered the perfectly prepared spring rolls. The entrees were a bouillabaisse that my son thought "best ever", a whole flash fried spelled trout, and a marvelous pompano with grilled shrimp. My son allowed us a small sample of the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. It was an exceptional meal, perfectly timed, and wonderfully served.

Google
This place is special. And incredible. We went for an evening dinner out and arrived to find out the power had gone out on the block. Everything was candle lit, the door was open, and we were warned that there would be limited menu offerings. We braved it and the food was sublime. Sorta French. Sorta Vietnamese. Upscale but comfortable. Nothing short of wonderful. I can only imagine how fantastic it is with the kitchen fully functional. We will return to find out :)

Google
A truly great restaurant. Minh and his staff are always on there game. The service is friendly and professional and what the kitchen produces is consistently amazing. Go and you will go again.

Google
Never disappoints and always accommodating. Viet French food and not tour typical Vietnamese rice and noodles etc( which I love ) but Seafood ,Beef, and Special dishes with classic French, Vietnames and Creole/New Orleans influences. The creativity of Chefs Minh and Cynthia is in every dish. Their daughters are in the kitchen, too. The front of the house is run by the wonderful Ms.Lyla

Yelp
I wanted to update my 2013 review. My comment that the place is pricey is a little misleading. It is a little pricey for an everyday lunch, but the price matches the quality. I have eaten here several times since my last review. This charming restaurant is underappreciated. My recent lunch was outstanding. I typically order 2 appetizers and did so again, and I was stuffed. I started with the beggars purses then ordered a Oyster Rockefeller variation that was delicious. The kitchen did a magnificent job on the tempura oysters. Yelpers have under reviewed this place. It is clearly a 4+ star establishment.

Yelp
All around the best Vietnamese-influenced restaurant in Nola proper. Beautiful ambience for date night or client lunches. The owners Minh and Cynthia are the most wonderful down-to-earth chefs I've met during my 5 decades as a native New Orleanian. The brisket Pho is the best pho in the city!
google avatar

Yelp
Let's just start with the service. Excellent. They're on target, are fun when you quip with them they quip back most appropriately. Ambiance. Oh, yes. I like clean white tablecloths on the table but I come from another time that likes to be casual, likes to dress up, likes to cook, but loves to go to a great restaurant. And I almost always see someone I know there and they have been going there for decades. Recently I had wonderful soft shell crab which also came to the table looking like a very special dish and believe me, it was, very, very special But then my dinner partner said here, try the mussels and don't ignore the liquor in it. OMG, it's like you fall into flavorful heaven. Minh's has been an open secret for a long long time. I love the place. Very special and very very excellent from top to bottom.

Yelp
The food was very good.... However... we waited about 15 mins before anyone brought water or spoke to us. Other tables were getting serviced but not us. When someone finally came over they didn't even say "so sorry for the wait, we are very busy." Nope! Just "do you want anything other than water to drink?" Well liquor, WELL IS $13!! What the actual?!? I dunno man. The food is good but this place is acting all bougie and they can't even take down their Xmas ornaments suspended from the ceiling that have been up for the past year or more. Just really annoyed when our bill came back over $100 for what we had. We had a glass of wine that was $16.... It costs $12 for a BOTTLE at the store! We looked it up!!! Don't recommend.

Carol H.

Yelp
Wonderful food. As someone who has to be gluten free, the staff was very knowledgeable. I had the beef pho, and it was amazing. Very fresh, with a great balance of flavors. The beef was so tender, I could cut it with a spoon. The atmosphere is very elegant and the wait staff a solid 10!

mark s.

Yelp
I had the ossobuco with wild mushroom risotto. It was a special of the day, and it was fantastic. They know how to cook and all the food I saw looked great and well presented. She had the stuffed rolls which were great too. Would highly recommend

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Cafe Minh for awhile so when a friend called to join him there, I was all in. Our waitress was warm and helpful. She rattled off a specials list almost as big as the menu. Which was terrible because everything sounded so good I wanted to order it all! We started with a sampling of appetizers. First was a special of clam chowder. A modest sized cup of New England style with more broth than cream, so a lighter version that was flavorful and good. The crab watermelon appetizer came next. Fresh herbs, lime, a hint of jalapeño with house made shrimp chips made this refreshing and ample offering our favorite of the night. Last in our appetizers round was the shrimp beggars purses - beautiful homemade dumplings with a rich dipping sauce that hit a perfect balance of sweet, spicy, savory. I need to take my dumpling loving daughter back for these. For entrees I got the special of lobster tortellini (I couldn't resist) and my friend got a spicy catfish dish. The tortellini was homemade and large with an herbaceous tomato cream sauce. It was topped with fried lobster which I don't think did the lobster justice. Loved the ravioli though and would get again. My friends catfish had a balanced savory sauce that also went great with the ample steamed vegetables it was served with. As a surprise, the chef came out to say hi to us and then delivered us to desserts: mango cheesecake which was divine! I will definitely be back to bring my daughter who will be over the moon fir those dumplings!

Yelp
Can't remember when I enjoyed a meal or companionship more than my first experience at cafe Minh. My friend Cindy is a fellow foodie adventurer and worthy dining companion. I have been dying to try some upscale Vietnamese fusion (love me some Vietnamese groceries) and I heard this was the spot. I have seen the chef on tv and was impressed with her creativity. I called her daughter Twee who I met on a previous culinary adventure and she set up the trip and opportunity to say hi to mom in person. Mmmmmmmm Not sure where to begin as the awesome started early. Started with wine while I waited on Cindy. I sprang this adventure on her an hour or so before so she was a sport for tagging along. I ordered something unusual and Spanish (Rioja) for dinner. I often troll the bargain end of the wine list for potential treasures. This paired well with our diverse offerings. Appetizers were clam chowder, watermelon crab salad with shrimp crackers and some homemade pot stickers. The watermelon appy took first prize for creativity and taste. I'm honestly not a huge fan of melon but the balance of crab and melon and herbs and those delightful crackers was divine. Not sure how u even make a shrimp cracker but they were like little mini works of art, in shrimp. Delicious alone but the savory for the melon was a great taste pairing. Very unique. I had bbq catfish Vietnamese style with plenty of veggies. Nice! Love me some well cooked bak Choi. This dish is a Vietnamese staple I find irresistible. Cyndi ordered Lobster special because she's a Ho for lobster. Very creamy yummo! Chef came out (on her birthday) to say howdy and we got to chat about her restaurant, her cuisine and that chunky little grand baby. I was overstuffed after dinner but she surprised us with 2 lovely desserts. This was way above and beyond hospitable. That's how they roll here tho. Hospitality in the restaurant business is a dying art. For me it separates a great meal from an extraordinary dining experience that keeps me coming back. I was honored to be treated like royalty and it was a pleasure to meet Chef Cyndi. Twee hope to see u there on my next journey so I can pinch that baby's cheeks. Do yourself a favor and set up a visit here soon with a pleasant dining companion. It'll set u back a few shekels but it's money we'll spent on a very memorable romp thru foodie play land. Can't wait to hit it again!

Yelp
Always love this place. We shared a whole fried speckle trout with the chef's amazing ginger sauce. The side of steamed vegetables were delicious too.

Yelp
We were looking for something different for a birthday and wanted to help Support New Orleans restaurants. We gladly flashed that vaccine pass at the door. It felt like a private club at that point. We had beggars purse with a fantastic thick dipping sauce and delicate wrapper. Also the special shrimp cake appetizer. The shrimp were super fresh and the dry was crisp and not oily. The bBQ catfish entree was AMAZING. Tons of lemon grass flavor, perfectly done catfish and beautiful vegetables. Lastly red curry shrimp pasta. Delicate coconut and red curry flavor w fresh perfectly cooked shrimp. We will absolutely be back!

Yelp
Cafe Minh is pretty terrible. There's just no other way to put it. It's WAAAAAYYYYYY overpriced. Atmosphere is blah and outdated. Service is ok but not polished. It blows my mind that this place is $35 an entree. Atmosphere: C- Just blah. Outdated. It was clean though, so points for that. Value: F The prices are outrageous compared to the quality of food and the experience. At $35 an entree, MUCH more is expected. $15 for a glass of HOUSE WINE. Not kidding. Food: D The scallops were really good. Other than that, everything was just ok to downright horrible. The duck was inedible. The fat wasn't rendered leaving the skin chewy. The risotto was bland and had no flavor. The bouillabaisse was bland and came with no bread. We had to ask for bread...which we were charged for. The entrees are $35 and the butter (fake butter) came in the plastic packets that you find at cheap diners. Service: B- Service was very friendly but unpolished and clumsy. Definitely not what you'd expect at a restaurant at this price point. Our bill was $131. If we didn't have a $100 gift card from a friend, we would've been pretty upset. There are a lot of great restaurants in New Orleans...and even in Mid City. Never again.
google avatar

Maddy M.

Yelp
Absolutely love this MidCity gem! Family owned. The chef use to own another restaurant in New Orleans back in the day that my grandpa always raves about. The daughter is usually helping wait tables and run the restaurant. Everyone is a complete delight to talk to! The food is beyond fabulous. Thai centered but there's a little French flare in there. Always check out the specials. A few of my favorites, the Red Curry Shrimp is so good, comforting, light but pasta filling at the same time. And a little spicy. The Beggar Purses are the perfect example of what all dumplings should be. There are tons of vegetarian options and LOTS of seafood. Got take out recently and it was a great experience.
google avatar

Brandon B.

Yelp
Awesome! Really great food! A little on the expensive side, but, well prepared dishes all around. Atmosphere is pleasant and casual. Service was good. Check it out! The food is the star here.

Yelp
WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! Was just taken back to pre-December 2009, just prior to my move to Maine, to a restaurant where I dined at least once every few weeks for many years. Ordered delivery. One must consider the challenges faced by a restaurant, and customer, when food is delivered. Cooling of dishes, thickening of sauces, thickening of risottos, etc. Ordered the scallops and Japanese eggplant appetizer, which I had regularly more than TEN years ago. Upon opening the container, I was whisked back to ten plus years ago. The aroma was the same. The presentation refreshed my memory. The tastes...well...they were spot on. I truly felt that I was back in pre-2009.....the dish, which had been delivered to my door, was that good! It's a must have dish here. The fresh spring rolls were delicious. The French onion soup, ordered without bread or crouton, was very good, but not great. The risotto, which had thickened, wasn't perfect, but this was a function of delivered food vs food served tableside. Added a touch of high end white truffle oil, mixed it a bit and lightly heated, dressed with a touch of real Maine sea salt and a hint of fresh cracked black peppercorns, and the risotto was fantastic. The Ga Roti also whisked me back to more than a decade ago. It's not an elegant dish, but it is one loaded with flavors and I was not disappointed. Cheers to a fabulous and consistent restaurant!

Yelp
I've been meaning to try Cafe Minh, as my better half has lunch there every few weeks. Today the stars were aligned or something, because we both happened to be in the area at the same time, and were able to meet up for an hour in the middle of a crazy, busy day. My first impression was that I was underdressed. I was in workout gear, minus makeup, sweaty hair in a pony. This is a linen tablecloth kind of joint. Also, not real noisy and I didn't hear a lot of laughing. I got to Minh first, so I had time to order a drink and check out the menu. My iced green tea was delivered to me and I knew I was meant to be here today. Man, it was good and fresh. Once my sun and stars arrived, we ordered and the wait wasn't long before our food made its way to the table. Btw, our waiter was great. He told us about today's specials and was very attentive throughout our visit. I had the lemongrass tofu with veggies and rice, and the man of my dreams had the blackened scallop salad. Wow, I was not disappointed. My tofu was diced and seared in a lemongrass sauce. It was served with a semi crisp veggie mix of carrots, asparagus, broccoli and cauliflower, along side a mound of sticky rice. It was very lemongrassy, which Ioved. I was a little put off my the strong aroma of fish sauce, so when I leaned in to take my first bite I was pleasantly surprised to find it really delicious. My husband's scallop salad was even better than the tofu. The scallops were perfectly blackened and the salad was fresh and dressed with a very light, but seriously tasty dressing. I really enjoyed my lunch, and the next time I visit I'll be sure to dress appropriately.
google avatar

Joan S.

Yelp
First time dining at Cafe Minh. The vegetable stir fry with seared scallops was delicious. The restaurant was very clean and the service was excellent! Will definitely return.

June C.

Yelp
One of the BEST in New Orleans. The food is EXCELLENT and the staff is EXTREMELY welcoming! No TVs blaring in one's ears.
google avatar

Lyn M.

Yelp
I love this place! The menu is creative ans inventive, and it is always delicious. I had not been in awhile and was having lunch with a friend who said he didnt eat out much but loves fried oysters, Asian food, and pot stickers. So I utilized the trusy Yelp! app and searched for pot stickers in Mid City. Thisplace came up firat and, when I pulled up the menu, there was also fried oysters. Done and DONE! First off, we had the amazing Kayla as our server and she was quite knowledgeable when it came to the menu. We ordered appetizers of shrimp spring rolls, fried oysters, and pot stickers. When the appetizers came out, the presentation was just lovely! Colorful, and well-presented all on one platter, which was so thoughtful. The flavors and textures were robust, crunchy, soft, delicate...all wrapped into one. When it came time to order entrees, Kayla quickly recommended the lobster ravioli, topped with a panko(ish) crusted, delicately fried lobster tails. Love at first bite! The pasta for the ravioli was so firm and delicious, I could have wrapped myself in it. Each were perfectly stuffed with beautifully seasoned pieces of lobster, accented by a delicious creamy tomato sauce. I would go back for that dish alone! My friend? He opted for another order or oysters and pot stickers. We left more than happy! Highly recommended and, if you ask for Kayla, you are in for a treat!
google avatar

Roger B.

Yelp
My wife and her best friend both really like the restaurant. Often they come here for lunch or make plans for all of us to go for dinner. My wife's favorite dish is the seafood pasta and that's about all she orders. She discovered they will replace the pasta with shredded mirliton and that makes it even better as there is essentially no carbs in the meal now. The Coconut Shrimp is what we usually order as appetizers. The last meal I had was the red curry shrimp pasta, sautéed shrimp in a red curry sauce over pasta. I keep the pasta for my dishes. It was pretty tasty, not real spicy, just enough to let you know it was there. The restaurant also has a great wine selection. If you go early in the week, they offer half price wine bottles (entire wine selection). This has allowed us to try a couple of different French wines I doubt we would have bought for a weekend dinner, but we are willing to buy them now. Only real complaint is the parking. There is no lot, so you have to find street parking in a residential neighborhood behind the restaurant.
google avatar

Carole T.

Yelp
I popped in for a drink and a light snack. I got the Minh 75, light on the syrup. It was amazing! I got the dinner salad, w basil vinaigrette which was huge and wonderful. I also got the artichoke & potato au-gratin and it was really good. Everything was great.

Michele D.

Yelp
Everything here is delicious. Scallop appetizer is a favorite. The Ga Roti is a go to entree. Open early in the evening. Always amazing service.
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
This is a quaint, yet elegant Vietnamese restaurant. I wasn't impressed by the food, but the presentation was nice. Perhaps it was what I ordered, but usually Vietnamese food has a lot of unique flavors that I just didn't get. : Shrimp & White Beans
google avatar

Jiwon H.

Yelp
I think someone's description of this place being Commander's Palace is somewhat true. It is the fanciest Vietnamese restaurant in town and of course it comes with the price tag. People from my table had different dishes, from basic Pho, spring roll, dumpling to what is considered more fining dining Entrees but my recommendation is that unless you have so much cash flowing in your pocket, don't order Pho. Get that from other place where you can get authentic and still pretty decent one for less than $10. Go for entrees! I had Ga Roti and it was great! Had lovely and subtle ginger flavor lingering in my mouth. Very clean and not heavy dish which will not make you drowsy after lunch. Service obviously was good as I expected since it is considered somewhat fine dining. We had 3 waiters taking care of us 6 people. Overall, good place if you feel like nice Vietnamese cuisine.
google avatar

Connie K.

Yelp
Yes, all the hype about the Oysters Rockefeller is true. This is a must appetizer. We enjoyed our evening at Cafe Minh and were very surprised by the variety of specials beyond Vietnamese cuisine. The Osso Bucco was delicious which I would traditionally associate with an Italian restaurant. Make sure to order the Minh 75 which has lemongrass!
google avatar

Paul T.

Yelp
Cafe Minh is one of those little-know neighborhood cafes that provides excellent hospitality coupled with an amazing culinary experience.
google avatar

Nicoya W.

Yelp
Lovely place! This place has been around for a long time and for great reason. The flavors are endless. They have some bomb oysters Rockefeller. The calamari is soooooo good. They have great entrees. Its not your typical Asian spot. Service is always on point. Family run which is always a treat. You can't miss on anything you choose. They always have specials to choose from. Wide variety on the menu, including duck. I love this place and will continue to patronize this place.

Vincent M.

Yelp
Minh is always in the kitchen making sure it's perfect. The duck was fabulous as usual. This is a regular place for me. Service is good and food is great
google avatar

Jessie B.

Yelp
I'm posting this review really late, as I ate here last on my wedding anniversary, but I must say that this place exudes class and elegance, from the service, to the food itself. When the staff heard it was our anniversary, they presented our desert on a plate and hand wrote a message in icing gel for us. It's those little things that make a meal memorable, and I can't wait until my anniversary dinner this year, when we dine there again!!!

Heather W.

Yelp
Hidden gem. Always delicious when we go! The specials of the day are awesome. Drinks are delicious.

Yelp
I am really like this restaurant. They are not just have delicious food but the also have very nice, simple beautiful decor restaurant, plus sweet and friendly staff ! What els are you looking for when you are going to restaurant? I think they have all what I need:) I have been to this place 3 times, each time food are getting better and better. #chefminh #cafeminh

Yelp
This used to be one of the better out of many good Vietnamese restaurants In Nola. Ate here for the first time since it reopened after Covid shutdowns. Place has gone down in the dumps. Not only are the prices sky high, the food is now terrible. The shrimp was gamey. Ordered the Chef's soup which was missing half of the main ingredients like the scallops which the clueless waiter did nothing to address but include it on the bill. I would never step into this restaurant left alone eat there again. I advise you to do the same.
google avatar

Steven G.

Yelp
Had a wonderful dining experience here with 3 others, we started with superb appetizers of coconut fried shrimp and octopus salad then I personally had the Slow braised Asian short ribs(amazing dish which was fork tender) and others at the table had the Special of the day Osso Buco with the wild mushroom risotto, which absolutely put smiles on everyone's faces with flavorful/fork tender bites of greatness. Chef Minh & his elegant wife Chef Cinthia personally came by to say hello and make sure our meal was perfect. Thanks again and see you soon, wish we lived closer(from Mandeville) but worth the drive from ANYWHERE. Thanks again Chef Minh and Chef Cynthia, cheers

Yelp
My lovely partner took me to Cafe Minh for my birthday this year. He'd been before, and I'd passed by it many times since moving to Mid-City and wanted to check it out. Initially, I was thrown off by the weird angles of the bamboo structure surrounding the front entrance - to be honest, it made me feel a bit seasick. We were seated after a few minutes (longer than I expected to wait, since we almost had the place to ourselves). Our server visited us about 10 minutes later. Overall, the service was pretty lackadaisical. We ordered a bottle of wine (one huge perk: the bottle of wine was half priced! A very poorly advertised happy hour perk) and some appetizers. The spring rolls were fine, and the steamed beggar purses were really good. I ordered the miso scallops as an entree, and they were ok. My partner ordered the slow braised Asian short ribs, and they were truly incredible - and the bed of garlic mashed potatoes they were served on was the stuff of my dreams. Honestly, this review got 3 stars because the ribs and the half-priced wine existed; otherwise it would have been 2. I probably won't go back to this place despite the fact that it's in my backyard, unless I'm specifically going for a bottle of wine or the ribs.
google avatar

Kate H.

Yelp
Love this place ! I always come back here to have the charcoal grill pork pho and the duck entree. Staffs was very friendly, the decor and set up inside restaurant is simple and clean. I definitely recommend people come and try this place
google avatar

Diem P.

Yelp
Amazing food, great ambiance and fantastic service! The menu is very creative. I highly recommend jumbo diver scallops, soft shell crab and seafood pasta. The restaurant also has a great wine selection. The decor is intimate and elegant. The chef owners are friendly and the waitstaff is very attentive.
google avatar

Jen L.

Yelp
While I miss Michael's Mid-City Grill, Minh Cafe is a welcome addition to mid-city. The menu is sort of pan-asian, but I like to think of it as a kitchen sink menu with asian flare. I had the red shrimp curry on angel air. Curry with pasta.. OK that's different but good. My dinner companions had the short ribs (my dog is loving the bones) and the lacquered duck both said they were phenomenal. My partner had the veggie tofu stir fry and was very satisfied. Plus delicious cocktails (mine was a LARGE mint julep so thank goodness for spell check). So Yum all the way around.
google avatar

Tamia G.

Yelp
Get here early due to the limited seating as well as limited on-street parking. Their lunch menu is served from 11:30-2:30. I had the spring rolls, which were crunchy, flavorful and delicious. The shrimp and noodle entree' was so delicious and nicely prepared and seasoned. Plus, the manager took the time to walk around and greet the guests. What a nice touch!
google avatar

Yelp
I have traveled to many places and have been to so many restaurant that I cannot keep track or care to remember. This Cafe Minh is amazing. I make it a point to stop in to this restaurant when I am in town. Not only does the couple Chef take care of you but their wait staff is very attentive to all your needs. The food is Phenomenal and the service is worth every penny.
google avatar

Melinda M.

Yelp
3 of us went for dinner and all had gourmet dinners - 3 courses which were all wonderful! The Asian pear salad with blue cheese was exceptional and the pork with sweet potato and ginger puree was terrific :) One person had the shellfish pasta which was also delicious! The atmosphere is very elegant, but you can come casual. Service was really nice and our server had a great personality. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Came here im during Mardi Gras weekend. Called ahead even to make sure they were open and not packed. We show up and the couple in front of us get seated right away. And then we were left to stand there for a good 6 mins. When we finally did get seated, no menus. So we grabbed our own. We waited about 10 mins and just put our coats on the leave when our waitress finally arrived to take our drink orders. Menu looked okay...a bit pricey for what it actually was. I was then annoyed that our appetizer came after a platter arrived for the party of 6 next to us...they ordered after us. The food was pretty good. Not worth the service since Namese was so close and better (we should have just went there again). Our waitress was nice, food was decent, but will not come here again. The restaurant was pretty empty and service was this poor.
google avatar

Bonni T.

Yelp
I love this place. It's a bit "pricey" for lunch, but absolutely worth it. I always get the Beggars Purses and the BBQ Vietnamese Catfish. The sauce on the beggars purse is absolutely delicious. Also, they have 1/2 off bottles of wine on certain days. Love it. The vegetables are steamed to perfection.
google avatar

Ellen Y.

Yelp
Food was fair. I've never had a bad experience here before but this time was it. The lobster Mac and cheese was great. Fish and duck were mediocre. They were out of lamb and didn't tell me until 20 minutes after I had ordered. The waitress didn't even know this.
google avatar

Kelsey A.

Yelp
Worst service I've ever experienced. Arrived for a reservation at 8:30, got seated at 9:15, got our food at 10:00, which is when we were supposed to be at another engagement. We asked for the bill when our food arrived and explained that we needed to rush to another event because we got served so late, and our waiter obliged, but then didn't return to check on us or pick up the check until we were finished eating, so it saved us no time at all. I will never return here and I went out of my way to tell my friends the same.

Yelp
This might be the worst service I've ever had. There was little of any interaction and what should have been a pleasant lunch left me feeling that I won't be back.

Yelp
Delicious meal, great service, wonderful dining experience. Lobster tortellini was perfect. Only reason I did not give 5 stars was the prices were a little high. I ordered the house Pinot noir and it was $14 glass. Seafood dish was $34 and lobster dish $39. Overall great service and food.

Yelp
This is a superb Franco Viet Fusion restaurant. A foodie will be very frustrated trying to choose just a few dishes on this attractive and varied menu. We started with a Watermelon Crab Martini that was so fresh and delicious and not to be missed. Spring rolls bursted with flavor. Their version of Oysters Rockefeller had lightly crisped oysters on a bed of flavorful spinach. We also tried the Nut Crusted Shrimp appetizer. The smoked Lacquered Duck was my favorite. The Braised Short-ribs were very tender and moist. A Nut Crusted Jumbo Soft Shell Crab was beautiful and disappeared off the table immediately. We also tried the Shrimp and White Beans with Jasmine Rice. Ambiance, service, and kitchen speed were all good. Ok... we brought friends to Cafe Minh because of our excellent earlier visit. Our second visit would only rate 3 stars. Inconsistent food.... my favorite dish, the lacquered Duck was ordered by two of our group because of my recommendation, both later told me that they thought the duck was very tough and lacked flavor. The appetizers were not quite as good because as we all know, older pieces of watermelon lack the flavor and crispness of fresher cuts, thus lowering the whole experience of the watermelon crab martini which was so good on our first dinner. For the cost of this appetizer, premium ingredients only please. Our drink bill is always a little high because we prefer premium liquor... but this restaurant added a "martini charge" on top of our already high drink price, adding insult to injury. I left that evening less than excited.

Yelp
Ordered delivery. Spring rolls were better than most with large shrimp. Scallop and eggplant appetizer was delicious. I want to try more of the menu!

Yelp
Off the beaten path New Orleans French-Vietnamese restaurant. I went with a group of six business travelers and there was something for everyone. Wonderful service and delicious food.
