⭐️ 1 star — DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH ANYONE HERE BEYOND BUYING FOOD.
I came in expecting a normal meal and left feeling like I walked into a low-budget hustle.
There was a guy Jonathan Nagle floating around like he “runs the place,” acting overly friendly, calling people “family,” shaking hands, and trying to build trust fast. Then it turns into money talk.. not a tip jar, not a donation… straight up asking customers to “invest” because he claims the restaurant is “basically his,” and that you’ll “profit” or “get paid back quick.” It felt like he was testing who he could pressure.
The part that really crossed the line: he targets people while they’re eating, when they can’t easily walk away without it getting awkward. It’s a classic emotional pitch “help me out,” “you’re the type of person I want on my team,” “this is a once in a lifetime opportunity,” etc. Just nonstop charm, urgency, and guilt-tripping. If you say no, the vibe changes and you suddenly feel like the “bad guy” for having boundaries.
And if you’re wondering where the money goes: it definitely didn’t feel like it was going anywhere near “the business.” I know others that invested as well and said he used the money for alcohol strippers and drugs. The whole situation gave off chaos like the money disappears into personal habits and a messy lifestyle, and the “investment” story is just bait to keep the cash coming.
Food aside, this isn’t a place I’d recommend to anyone who wants a normal, peaceful meal. Restaurants should not be a stage for someone’s personal fundraising, pressure tactics, or shady “opportunities.”
My advice: pay for your food which is hit or miss, keep your wallet closed, don’t share personal info, and leave. Or don’t come here again find another Filipino establishment.
