I had just finished my coffee and was thinking of ordering another one or maybe a hot meal, when a staff member came over and showed me a printed note about the laptop time limit. He didn’t even ask if I wanted to order anything else. I asked, “Do you want me to leave?” and was told, “Yes, thank you.” Honestly, treating customers this way seems like a terrible way to increase sales — it completely removed any desire to return.
I suppose next they could start charging customers to use the bathroom too — a “similar marketing strategy,” if that’s the kind of experience they’re aiming for
