London’s New Restaurant Openings - London - The Infatuation

"We think about the cacio e pepe gnocchi we once had at Cafe Murano in Covent Garden often. So it’s welcome news that Angela Hartnett is continuing her central London domination by opening another Italian restaurant, this time in Marylebone. This will be the first location to serve breakfast, but things will be very similar to the original at dinner." - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

Cafe Murano Marylebone - Review - Marylebone - London - The Infatuation

"There are a few of Angela Hartnett's Cafe Murano restaurants dotted about London, but this Marylebone outpost is the first to serve breakfast. Expect a similarly Italian-leaning menu at dinner, though, with gnocchi and pasta. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists. RESERVE A TABLE" - Sinéad Cranna

Thank you for an amazing experience! We visited the restaurant yesterday and had a wonderful time. The decor was beautiful, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our waitress , Anna, was professional, friendly, and made us feel truly looked after. Everything was perfect. Thank you again for taking such great care of us!

Had a lovely lunch here. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was simple, well-balanced, and absolutely delicious. So happy they’ve opened in our neighbourhood

Exceptional food, venue, service and an excellent addition to central London.

Visited on a weekday evening just after the opening. We felt some of the staff were rather inexperienced though eager to help and it took some time to recruit a knowledgeable person to recommend wine. Delicious food. Not overly fussy but quality ingredients and execution.

Just what the neighbourhood needed. A laid back place that manages to be joyful, generous and fun. Just about everything you want from a restaurant. Had a wonderful meal. With John Dory and the risotto being the stand out dishes. Big shout out to Josh our waiter too, every restaurant needs one.

Unfortunately, opened without training staff. I didn’t have a clean glass, didn’t have cutlery when I needed it, items on the menu were missing ingredients listed. I ordered quickly, but did not have my entrée for an hour and 25 minutes after being seated. The food was great, but I left hungry and I’m on my way to get a burger.

I have to be honest in a review as I go to a LOT of Italian restaurants in London and so have a pretty broad frame of reference. Between two people, we had some small bites, a starter (which we shared) and a main course (plus spritz) and it was £75 per person. That’s more than I’ve paid at the likes of Riva, Jacuzzi, Carlotta and La Famiglia for a LOT more food AND wine of higher quality. The second issue was the dishes themselves. My rigatoni was EXTREMELY salty and my friend who got gnocchi fritti said they were not good at all. Hopefully these are just teething issues as the place has just opened, but I was honestly quite disappointed.
