I had a feeling this cafe (now mini chain) would hold its own and even expand - like they have - because they just seemed to have a simple-yet-not-so-simple approach; meaning they have just enough choice in both the coffee and nibbles departments, but not too much to have you chocker up the queue - which at this location would have customers backed up out the front door. Even so, I sometimes need a moment to choose my coffee carb accompaniment (which kind of rhymes).
As an aside: they do tend to run out of scones in the late afternoon, which makes me have to twist my own rubber cookie arm and go for their truly decadent chocolate chunk cookie. It's a decent size, which it should be for 3.75. Yikes, what is the world of cookie pricing coming too - okay, I digress so no inflation talk in this review from here on out.
Hmm, what does a review about a coffee shop tend to discuss - I know, I know: coffee. And with that I will say that I appreciate that they have a filtered coffee of the day for those on a budget and don't really always need a fancy frilly cafe coffee. I have oat milk with mine which to me brings the taste up a notch and I can imagine it being more up-scale. However, it's notable that their filtereds are usually from a pretty exotic location around the world, so it's always fun to get coffee and brush up on geography at the same time. Oh, don't get me started about traveling less during the pandemic. I stuck to the inflation ban, but never promised to not gripe about other issues lol. At this point, I think I'm ready for a coffee and a cookie.
Side notes: They have indoor and outdoor seating; they have a nice banana nut muffin (subject to availability); the staff are quite eclectic; and also of note, they have a bunch of coffee related goods and paraphernalia for sale.
