The Best Cafes in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"When Anthony Benda opened this café in 2008, he helped jumpstart Montreal’s indie café scene. The coffee connoisseur has since sold the business, but not before adding an outlet in Club Monaco’s flagship downtown Montreal store and one more on the Plateau." - Daniel Bromberg

The Best Hot Chocolates in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"A slightly unexpected hot chocolate choice, as it’s best known for serving a seriously good cup of coffee. One of Montreal’s first third wave cafés, it’s a cozy spot to recharge near Concordia, with a small outdoor terrace in summer, and a snug interior for those snowy winter days. If you like your chocolate caffeinated, Myriade also does an unbeatable mocha." - Karin Murray-Bergquist

The Best Montreal Bars and Cafés With Air-Conditioning | Eater Montreal

"This friendly, unpretentious café serves great coffee and tasty, dietary restriction-friendly pastries (sourced from local bakers). Myriade is ideal for the caffeine-craving and working lunch crowds all year round, but the Plateau outpost is especially worth a visit during the warmer months thanks to the stellar A/C. (Myriade’s other locations are great too, but not as amenable to laptop-squatting.)" - Holly Tousignant

Google
Cafe was great. Honestly when I first tasted the cold brew I thought it tasted like a roots of a tree. But I came back the next day so...I dunno what that means. Overall I enjoyed the coffee. I like bitter and complex flavours so if that's you definitely worth the try. Latte was much more mellow in flavour for those who do want that much intensity.

Google
Their latte was delicious . Milk and espresso made well balance. Besides coffee, they also offered different baked goods. A good place for hangout, work, or study. The interior was fancy and relaxing. If there is sunshine outside, sitting at patio and sipping a cup of their good coffee will be perfect! By the way, I like their aesthetic logo😆

Google
Great coffee and pastries. Beautiful interior and nice outdoor seating. Warm friendly staff. I had this delicious rosewater oatmilk espresso slushy that blew my mind.

Google
This coffee shop is perfect! It's adorable inside with lots of seating options. The baristas were very friendly and helpful, and showed me the gluten free pastries. I got the filtered coffee and an iced latte, and both are phenomenal. I'd highly recommend Myriade!

Google
A nice coffee shop on The Plateau, it's well decorated and has a lot of space to sit down. The coffee was good, so was the cookie.

Google
Ordered a flat white, a chocolatine and a dark chocolate chips cookie. The flat white is amazing with a cute little heart ❤️ The chocolatine is so buttery with nice generous bite of chocolate in the center. After eating the chocolatine, the cookie is tasteless to me, but when I had another bite later of the day, it tasted so good! Pet friendly, such a great cafe!

Google
The latte I had here was good but more on the sweeter side of my preference. The atmosphere was nice with a brighter atmosphere. Good hangout spot with friends. (Sorry for not reviewing in French)

Google
The vibe: under 25, full of energy, everyone on their laptop or in their book type of place. The food: pastry items are limited but ok. Not fresh but made hours ago. The drink: awesome! Their espresso slush is wow! A heavenly combination of espresso, coffee, oatmeal and brown sugar.

Yelp
Nice cozy cafe serving coffee and pastries. We grabbed lattes which were pretty good and enjoyed it while strolling on the streets.

Yelp
Delicious coffee in a relaxed atmosphere. Nice patio seating. Pastries and cookies are divine.

Yelp
An entrancing aroma delights the nostrils as you enter @cafemyriade. An equally desirable warmth radiates from within as you sip a mild, well-balanced fresh cup of java, or try a large unique refreshing cold brew on a nice day.

Yelp
I get my daily coffee fix from this spot! It's cute, has great seating & the coffee is always decent. I like getting it to-go or meeting up with friends for a quick catch up! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone already in the area!

Yelp
I had a feeling this cafe (now mini chain) would hold its own and even expand - like they have - because they just seemed to have a simple-yet-not-so-simple approach; meaning they have just enough choice in both the coffee and nibbles departments, but not too much to have you chocker up the queue - which at this location would have customers backed up out the front door. Even so, I sometimes need a moment to choose my coffee carb accompaniment (which kind of rhymes). As an aside: they do tend to run out of scones in the late afternoon, which makes me have to twist my own rubber cookie arm and go for their truly decadent chocolate chunk cookie. It's a decent size, which it should be for 3.75. Yikes, what is the world of cookie pricing coming too - okay, I digress so no inflation talk in this review from here on out. Hmm, what does a review about a coffee shop tend to discuss - I know, I know: coffee. And with that I will say that I appreciate that they have a filtered coffee of the day for those on a budget and don't really always need a fancy frilly cafe coffee. I have oat milk with mine which to me brings the taste up a notch and I can imagine it being more up-scale. However, it's notable that their filtereds are usually from a pretty exotic location around the world, so it's always fun to get coffee and brush up on geography at the same time. Oh, don't get me started about traveling less during the pandemic. I stuck to the inflation ban, but never promised to not gripe about other issues lol. At this point, I think I'm ready for a coffee and a cookie. Side notes: They have indoor and outdoor seating; they have a nice banana nut muffin (subject to availability); the staff are quite eclectic; and also of note, they have a bunch of coffee related goods and paraphernalia for sale.

Yelp
We had croissants, one with chocolate and one without, they were good, flaky and buttery. Cortado was delicious, fruity, well rounded flavor, balanced well. Partner had a coffee and it didn't need any milk. Full flavored and creamy on its own. Staff was friendly and efficient. Space was clean and bright. Plants are always a plus in our book! Easy spot to relax and fall into conversation as a break from the otherwise busy day of day of tourism.

Yelp
My sister, friend and I checked out this place while we walked around the area. Yummy coffee! I've had 49th Parallel at a few different cafes now, pretty good. Service was good and prompt. The cafe is pretty small though, be prepared to not find seating! It was definitely a fun place to check out. If I'm back in the area, I'll come visit again.

Yelp
The coffee was delicious, no doubt! I think there are more interesting small batch Canadian roasters they could be using but I loved that the 49th Parallel was really fresh and well prepared, nice temperature, pretty perfect filter coffee. The place was quite dirty when I got there. No one had bussed their own tables and the staff half didn't have time, half didn't care about it. Similarly when they took my order they gave me my coffee, charged me, and walked away... completely forgetting to give me the cheesy croissant thing I paid for. I just stood there until they came back from the back and realized. It happens! But definitely increased the overall vibe of barely pretending to give a fuck. I find the seating in here quite uncomfortable as well, a lot of low tables and low chairs, and the decor is the now-tired Edison bulbs and communal wood tables look. Not a bad look! But do we have to have exposed bulbs everywhere? Asking for a friend. I feel weird giving this medium bitchy review after giving the Tim Hortons in Ste Agathe more love yesterday. I love locally owned businesses and local baked goods and third wave amazing coffee so much more than anything ever served at Timmys! Except the small town, middle aged Momma quality of service that they are serving up in Ste Agathe, which Myriade on St Denis came nowhere near. It felt more like a tired chain than anything else, and I want more from them. I want more from us all.

Yelp
A really great atmosphere and one of the best lattes that I have ever had. I had a vanilla latte and if I heard correctly, they make their own vanilla in house. It was fantastic and i highly recommend it. The interior was very nice and I just enjoyed the overall vibe. Felt relaxed and was also able to get work done.

Yelp
Great friendly service and delicious pastries. The coffee is delicious. The esspresso is pulled perfectly, smooth and makes the perfect latte. The cold brew is also great.

Yelp
I used to love the coffee here when it was under a different management (with a different name, le couteau) but I was so glad to see that the place still makes amazing coffee.

Yelp
Beautiful cafe. Chill vibes with a good playlist. The staff here is kind and helpful. I ordered a cortado and the espresso was perfectly brewed. My friend ordered a matcha latte and said that it's a good drink but the matcha flavor isn't particularly strong. Overall a great place to come and study, have a conversation with a friend, or to enjoy a good cup of joe.

Yelp
Loooooooved this cute little cafe. I had a decaf mocha which was deliciously rich and decadent. Boyfriend had a cortado, which he loved. The interior was superbly decorated, although small. They do have Wi-Fi and plenty of outlets. Best part for us was a lovely bench by their huge picture window which made for entertaining people watching.

Yelp
I really enjoy Café Myriade and especially this location on st denis. Lots of room to sit inside and in the summer lots of room outside too ! The coffee is excellent , my go to is always their iced coffees or their lemonade which is awesome (lemon ginger honey ) great balance of tartness and sweetness ! Prices are on par with Starbucks and other coffee shops in the area. They also served baked goods which looked great but I haven't had the chance to try yet. Great place to come catchup with a friend or read a book. Cute airy decor inside , a lot of windows and wooden tables .

Yelp
Quick in and out to taste the espresso. I wasn't dissapointed. The delivery (cups and mini wooden holder) was great and ample space to sit with friends. Cost: average, as expected for location Will definitely go back to try out the other offerings when I'm in town.

Yelp
I live pretty close to here so it's nice to drop in from time to time. It's a cute, smaller cafe with lots of natural light. Very friendly staff! I have gotten the latte every time (boring right?) and it's been delicious every time. Only thing is they close quite early :(

Yelp
A great place to work or just to relax with friends. Myriade has a cool atmosphere thanks to decorative plants, cozy tables, and a great playlist. Coffee is superb, and in the morning there is a nice selection of pastries. Service is always great.

Yelp
Coffee is as good as the other Myriades. Very roomy and bright interior. Myriade uses beans from 49th parallel and they are my no.1 favourite coffee shop in Montreal.
google avatar

Yelp
I had matcha latte with oat milk. Unfortunately, my matcha latte was too light(I couldn't really taste matcha). It looked very pale green in color.

Yelp
omg morden cafe love it love it love it. The handsome barista who wore Coffee T-shirt made me a cute smiling latte. I was so happy to drink it
google avatar

Yelp
Easily one of the hippest coffee shops in Montrealsterdam. The coffee ain't bad either.

Yelp
Loved it! The atmosphere is really a great balance between soft and cosy, and its easy to get some work done. Food and coffee are great. Staff is welcoming!

Colditz K.

Yelp
great place to stop for a coffee. There was really high quality options for both espresso and pour overs, which was nice. The space was comfortable, trendy, and had wifi.

Peter C.

Yelp
Perhaps the most uncomfortable seating in all the city in any cafe. It's almost amusing watching people try and duke it out in uncomfortable positions and trying to sit in what is ostensibly seats. But, if you can find a seat at one of the two tables, then you're doing alright! Coffee is decent, nothing special. Prices for the drinks are more fair than most cafes in the city especially considering the location of this place. All in all, if they improved the seating situation so that they are actually within the realm of useable, then I'd give this place 4 stars.
