New Montreal Restaurants Openings, July 2022 | Eater Montreal

"I checked out Café Nao, a new St-Laurent coffee shop and bistro from the team behind Alexis Le Gourmand, which positions itself as an ideal spot for an apéro or a simple lunch break, though the full menu was not published in the announcement." - Valerie Silva

Very good food at reasonable prices. This owner-operated cafe is spotless- including the bathrooms! Pride of ownership shines here. On a cool day their deck fronting Av St Laurent is a great place to relax with a glass of wine. They make some of the best coffee in Little Italy and as mentioned, their food has been tasty and delicious. Check their hours before stopping in as they are closed 2 days a week. -Joe Sunseri Rue Clark

Without any doubt, it was the best burger I had in years. With the new chef, everything is 10 times better. Amazing place. Highly recommended.

As you can see, the pancake in the photo is quite possibly the saddest pancake I have ever seen. Not only was it flat and lifeless, but it was rubbery; as if they forgot to put in some ingredients. A McDonald’s pancake is probably 10x better. Now the rest of the picture may look good but the taste of each item was lacking in some way. The potatoes were undercooked, sausage dry, and I could go on to the other plate, but let’s talk about the ambience. I went for brunch with company. The place was super dark - where were all the lights? The music was also dark and sad, and not the kind of relaxing soft music, but literally depressing . The experience was by consensus an overall terrible one. - oh and the table and cutlery were dirty too. There was cheese hard/dry stuck to the table and the fork had dry egg on it. For the price, I would have expected a lot more.

Food was super good but coffee wasn’t that good, the owner was a young woman who was super friendly and nice! They also sell coffee beans!

The food and service is amazing! The soup and smoked salmon is refreshing. The coffee is well roasted.

I was there today for brunch, and it should’ve been a warning sign when the restaurant was so empty on a Saturday. My friend and I ordered the avocado and bacon egg benedict and the breakfast dish with baked beans and fried egg. The potatoes were undercooked and completed unsalted. We complained and they changed them for us for potatoes that were better cooked, but still flavorless and unsalted. Beans were also undercooked, my friend was not able to eat them. In general, everything was quite unflavored. The coffee also did not taste good. It had a burnt taste and it was very unpleasant. I will not be coming back.

Amazing flavours! I've been so disappointed lately with restaurants.. Not this one! A "simple" breakfast of benedicts and prosciutto ham became a gastronomic experience ! Clearly the chef takes great pride in his dishes and intentionally selects the best ingredients. Even the coffees had an interesting flavor. The plates are prepared with care and decorated with microgreens and flowers that (for once!) add debth to the flavors. I would've taken another plate if I wasn't in a rush 😋 And the kick is that it's fairly priced! Quite the gem that is worth the detour, and I live 40 minutes away! Highly recommend. Fun facts: free wifi, great atmosphere for studying or working, service is on point. They do brunches, lunch, coffees, viennoiseries and more.
