Cafe NOMA

This spot is such a treat during the workday. The ever-changing menu keeps choices interesting while maintaining the same high standard every visit. Quite the view and atmosphere too!

We ordered some food to go to enjoy in the park - it was surprisingly good! Cuban and the shrimp bowl were both delicious and with good quality ingredients.

We were visiting City Park and found this little gem of a restaurant situated within NOMA. You can either go through the front entrance of the museum to access the restaurant or you can use a side entrance. The food was delicious, I had the Spicy shrimp poke bowl, grandson had the chicken strips and fries, my son had the Korean beef bowl and my daughter in law had the Cuban sandwich. All of our food was fabulous, the bowls were colorful and well balanced. My only wish for the Shrimp Poke bowl is more sauce and a little more spice. My son enjoyed the beef bowl but it could use a little more beef. Otherwise the food was amazing. The surprise for me was the kids chicken strip meal. I could look at the fries and tell they were going to be delicious and I was right. They were awesome! And the chicken strips were fried to perfection the coating on the chicken was light and crisp. We all enjoyed stealing fries off of my grandsons plate! Lol! The Cuban sandwich was meaty and filling, you can't miss with anything that you order. We didn't get a dessert but the ones we saw looked decadent. When I return to New Orleans I will make a beeline for Cafe NOMA, it was a very pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was relaxing, the setting is light and airy. Service was fast and tables were cleaned quickly after use. The servers were efficient, not the friendliest crew but helpful enough.

I ate here when Noma had Japan Fest. They had some special menu items which I was excited to try. The portion sizes and huge and you can probably split most things on the menu. I had a flatbread which was super yummy and we had special fries which were amazing! The other guest had the turkey club and it was great! We both tried the basil lemonade. It was okay but I didn’t taste the basil and the overall flavor was lighter than I preferred. They have some really good looking bakery items if you only want a small snack. Pricing was moderate but the food was worth it in my opinion. I’d love to dine here again on a more laid back day.

This was the best in museum Cafe we have ever been to with just enough of a selection to cause pause as you figure out which one you will go with. Everything purchased was great and the pastries were sublime. Staff was nice and were constantly dropping off plates and cleaning the tables. Great view of the sculpture garden and lake from the very well lit natural light dining area.

What a fantastic way to wrap-up a 4-mile walk in City Park and celebrate December birthdays. This quaint establishment is set inside the New Orleans Museum of Art (with a separate entrance) overlooking nature at it's best. The service staff is exceptional and most welcoming. From 10a-11a assorted make-you-weep-for-more pastries and beverages are available. At 11am the kitchen opens with another group of delicious, shareable offerings. The menu is short yet packs a delectable fare of hearty plates. The environment is welcoming with a simple beauty. For Central Business hotel visitors it is fun Streetcar ride and short scenic stroll in the park to get here. So worth the chance to see NOLA from a different angle. This would a be an excellent place for a first date.

The vegetable panini with goat cheese was sooo good! Same for the ice coffee. Glad they use real glasses and dishes!

SO good!!! 🎨 Really tasty food in a super arty place. The huge windows let light in and add to the calming atmosphere in the gallery. It’s a great stop between exploring exhibitions. The waiting staff is very helpful with recommendations and food arrives fast. I had one of the market bowls with shrimp and plantain. All of the dishes served are locally inspired cuisine. I saw some of the chips dishes come out and the portion was very large, for a good price too! I paid under $15 for my meal. Overall it was a great experience, I would have stayed and relaxed for longer had it not been for the full blast air conditioning! I was freezing, but cold interiors and hot exteriors are the norm for New Orleans so this place remains a 5 star destination for me. I will definitely return! Thank you!

We came to the NOMA to see the prohibition exhibit. We were happily surprised to find a cafe. We were there on a Saturday in December around Noon and it was busy, but there was still plenty of seating. We had just done a Cemetery tour and were looking for somewhere to get off our feet before seeing the exhibit. This was the perfect place to sit awhile and get some nourishment before heading to Cafe Du Monde for some dessert. Prices are reasonable. Especially for a museum cafe. Much cheaper than our museum cafe. They had a special going for $15 you could get a cup of tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. The soup was hot and delicious and perfect for dipping the cold grilled cheese sandwich in it. The sandwich was sub par. It was dry and cold. I wouldn't reccomend it or order it again. I was happy to have a meal. I would come to the cafe again. Next time I'd order the veggie quiche. My husband had the veggie quiche and I tried it and it was delicious. The crust was so light and flackery. He also got the tomato soup. The fries also looked good, but we didn't try them. You don't have to buy a ticket to visit the cafe. It's open to the public and has a separate entrance in addition to the entrance from the museum. I am so thankful for the cafe. The park is huge and I am not aware of another place to eat in the park besides Cafe Du Monde. It's a bit of a hike to one of the restaurants across the street from the park. We entered through the main entrance and there was no restaurants by that entrance. All there is, is a gas station and the Cemetery NOMA Cafe for a win.

A bit pricy, which doesn't surprise me for museum food, but really good. You can enter directly into the cafe up from the sculpture garden. You can also enter from the main entrance without having to pay to enter the museum. We hit it at the right time and did not have wait in line to place our order. I got the cranberry spritz and the NOMA Ranch Salad. My husband got a Hazy IPA and an order of Naked Fries. My salad and drink were both delicious. The fries were deemed ok. Service was good - our meals were brought to our table quickly. The large open area was clean and filled with lots of diffused light and view of the sculpture garden. I recommend this nice cafe when visiting the museum and/or the park.

I'm sorry to say the food here was really subpar both for New Orleans and for museum cafes generally. The gumbo was just OK--nice and warm on a cold day. But the flatbread wasn't cooked properly. The inside was doughy and raw. The beets salad was more or less a bad of arugula: unimaginative and pretty dry. I will say that the chocolate chip/caramel cookie we had a little later with some coffee was delicious. But overall, I wish we'd gone somewhere else for lunch.

My experiences with museum restaurants are that they are expensive and mediocre in quality, due to the fact that they have a captive audience, who can't complain by going elsewhere. This cafe inside the New Orleans Museum of Art has a captive audience, as the nearest food is more than half a mile away. Once you drive away you've out of parking space for the day. Signs say scan this QR code for the menu. I scan it, and choose the Spring bowl with shrimp, and wife wants the jerk chicken flatbread. Long line at 130pm on a Sunday at the counter where you order your food, pay for it, and get a number. Turns out that the online menu is out of date with our choices replaced by vegetarian choices. 2 of the 3 salads, 2 of the 3 bowls, and 2 of the 3 flatbreads are vegetarian, despite less than 10% of the population being vegetarian. We get the last available table, and wait 17 minutes for our new orders to be filled. Staff cannot keep up with clearing the tables -and they want the full 20% tip, despite you have to stand in line to order, just like fast food style. Wife gets the $16 Margherita flatbread, which is a rectangular pizza with sliced tomatoes, pesto and mozzarella. I get the $16 BBQ pork flatbread, with shredded pork, mozzarella, BBQ sauce, red onions and sliced sweet pickles. The BBQ sauce is very similar to tomato sauce, and there are too few onions to affect the taste. They skimp on the shredded pork, with just a few strands on each of the 8 pieces. Hot right out of the oven. Got to be eaten before they cool down, as can't take it home, won't get back for hours. Liked the dough when it was hot, not so much once it cooled down, as got tough and chewy, needing a knife and fork. Very filling. Food is decent and hot, service is poor, shortage of staff is apparent, and prices double the $8 flatbread pizza listed on Yelp. Why have signs telling you to read the menu off the QR code, when the online menu items we want are not available? Would have loved the Spring Bowl with shrimp and the Jerk chicken compared to the what we got.

We stopped here while we were exploring City Park on our way to the Besthoff Sculpture Garden. It was offseason so the park restrooms were closed and we had forgotten our water bottles at home. The museum wasn't on our agenda for the day, but we were able to enter the cafe separately. There was a tidy restroom around the corner and we grabbed a quick snack from the cafe. It was of course a little pricey as museum food can be, but the chocolate chip cookie I got was thick af and so tasty. Totally worth it. The staff were very kind and helpful, more than happy to share local recommendations and tips.

This was so overpriced and the flatbread was literally ridiculous. Lmao. Location is good and it's a pretty museum but wtf.

Tried this recently with a friend. I've been to NOMA many times but didn't know there was such a cool little Cafe attached. We both got the spicy shrimp poke bowl. I was actually pleased I didn't have to choose thw toppings this time as it always feels like a lot of pressure. I liked almost everything on it, with the exception of the seaweed (it's a texture thing). The shrimp were plump and perfectly cooked, the the sauces were great, and the quinoa was actually enjoyable despite the fact that I seriously dislike it for the most part. Love that they added edamame and almonds, two of my favorite things. We also got pastries to take home. The almond croissant was divine, as was the oatmeal cranberry cookie. I would go back just for more of those!

I decided to yelp after my second visit. First of all I love the location inside the NOMA museum! My first visit we had lunch which was delicious. We had Noma ranch salad and butternut squash and kale flatbread. I was quite surprised as to how tasty both dishes were never thought kale could taste so good. The manager walked around talking with most of the customers which I thought was extremely nice. It showed that she cared about her job.The servers were very nice and professional. This morning we went for 10am right when they open we had the croissant, stuffed croissant and two lattes. Again great friendly service and again the manager was checking in all customers. The food menu starts at 11am. We loved sitting and looking out the windows to the beautiful scenery of City Park. I feel like this is one of the best kept secrets of city park.

A nice break during the visit to the museum. I know some have reviewed this as being pricey and having other options outside, but I felt the price was in line with the quality of the food. You order at the counter and are given a number to take to your table. The meal is brought out to you. I recommend sitting in the atrium. The cafe side of the doors was a little distracting with the order line and people coming in and out of the side door. I had the Spicy Shrimp Poké Bowl, which I thought was a well put together bowl full of fresh, Asian flavors. My friend had the NOMA Ranch Salad, which looked delicious. Viewing (and understanding) the menu was a little confusing, as half of the menu is on each side of the column. As you're standing in line you only understand one half of the menu, then you pull up to the register, and have seconds to grasp the other half as you try to order.

For a museum cafe, Café NOMA is amazing and surpasses all expectations! They have an Egyptian-centered menu that surrounds the current Exhibit they have the museum, which I think is really cool! Also, the food was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the Koshary Bowl, which had lentils, white rice, chickpeas, a cumin-tomato sauce & topped with crispy onions! Also, you can't go wrong with the desserts--the chocolate mousse was immaculate. Definitely stop by to tour the museum and have a bite!

My daughter is into Arts. With that being said we same here and I must say we had a great time. It was a lot to learn from different types of culture. She's not into sports, so we do whatever keeps her smiling and happy and this NOMA museum was AWESOME.

The cafe recently rolled out a new menu and after working a private event inside the museum last Friday, I couldn't help but go back asap to try the offerings! My gal pal and I had the basil lemonade for drinks and the vegetable panini and turkey club (melt?) on ciabatta. The sandwiches were hefty so no additional sides were needed although the truffle fries look amaaaaaazing! I KILLED my sandwich; so ooey and gooey-and the bread! Wonderful bread! We hadn't quite satiated our hunger though-we loooove food so we ordered two flatbreads to go and swapped halves so we would each get a taste. We tried the Figgy Gorgonzola and the "Into the woods" with roasted mushrooms, garlic bechamel, truffle oil, arugula and Parmesan! Hot damn it was good. So, go to the museum and be sure to fuel up in the cafe.

Tremendous food and wonderful service! I ordered the fries because I didn't think think the sandwich would be enough with this being a cafe at a museum. I couldn't finish either!

Food not bad. Waiting in line for ordering is. I was 40-45 minutes standing. I regretted the torturous wait too late, so I swallowed the bitter pill and stayed. Service otherwise was solicitous: There was fast afoot delivery of the goods after the ordeal. I suggest online ordering for the museum goers. A pick up time can be convened. Self-serving kiosks are an alternative when hunger is greater than gourmand-ship and simpler dishes will do. I hope to try the nice menu again when I visit the well appointed New Orleans Museum of Art again.

Great cafe! Delicious food and great cocktails. We were there mid-day during the summer and it wasn't busy at all. Such great light. We ended up sitting for a good while enjoying the people watching and a chance to rest up before seeing the rest of the museum. Recommended!

This place is pure class. Inspiring dishes with top notch ingredients. One would expect nothing less from a cafe inside the New Orleans Museum of Art, but it is surprisingly never crowded. I want to see this place do great, but I hope it maintains its status as a hidden gem. Today, I had the pulled chicken sandwich, my wife had the mediterranean bowl, and the kids had grilled cheese. We also had "Thai fries" as an app.

After a few hours looking at art, we needed a little respite. We thought maybe a little drink would hit the spot. However........ A nice choice of wine, spirits, specialty drinks and standard sodas available. The menu though, so many interesting choices. We decided on the cheese board and the beet sliders. My friend and sleeping baby chose a seat on the long red banquet. I wait in the growing line. Hot tip for all : if you're in a long line, take that time to know exactly what you want. Second Hot tip: have a plan B. I get to the front, I'm ready. The cheese board, beet sliders, 2 pomegranate ice teas and a sparkling water. Uh oh.....panic in the kitchen. They're out of the cheese board. No problem, two tomato bisques and 2 orders of bread. The gal at counter thanked me......thanked me? She said thank you for being so understanding and knowing what else you wanted. And through a fate unforeseen, it was the perfect combination. The soup was delicious, the bread was hot, we had a whole conversation about the beet sliders. I enjoyed our meal and the time spent there. I love the art at NOMA, the gift shop too.....and now its lovely little cafe.

OUTSTANDING!! My husband and I just had lunch here. The food is HOT , FRESH & DELICIOUS, need I say more, - engaging and peaceful ambiance with friendly New Orleans service! Good job Cafe' NOMA! Steady flow of patrons as well. DW

Stopped in to Café NOMA for the first time to grab some breakfast. I've been watching construction take place around it for a year or so. It looks so nice and new inside in the little eat-in courtyard. You can access the cafe without paying the entrance fee to the museum. That staff were very friendly and masked up. Pineapple mimosas were a surprise as I've never seen that before. The lemon icebox pie was delicious. Sweet and tart with a chewy crust on the bottom. I bet all their pastries are great. The kitchen doesn't open until 11 so I'll have to go back to try some of the other things on the menu like Thai fries or Spicy Shrimp Poké bowl.

This was a good stop for a quick lunch while you're doing the museum or gardens the food was good we had half a salad and soup $11 also a chocolate chip peanut butter cookie $2.50and from the menu of the exhibit falafel $8which was very good and flatbread Margarita &15 and cappuccino moderately priced everyone that worked there was very pleasant would recommend it if you're in the area for a bite to eat

I am extremely impressed with this cafe! I would recommend this place even if it was a stand alone restaurant. The food was fantastic and the vibes were immaculate. I glad the shrimp poke bowl and it was genuinely so good! Everything about it! The presentation was also super pretty. My boyfriend had the soup of the day which I can't remember what it was but it was so full of flavor and super delicious. He really enjoyed it.

We stopped in because the location is perfect (within the Museum and City Park). The food was fine-ish. I was warned multiple times about how spicy the blackened shrimp Caesar was. But, it was laughably bland. I have had tastier plain Caesar. I had my daughter and husband verify that I wasn't losing my mind. My husband had a slightly better quinoa bowl and my daughter's flatbread was fine. So, the cafe isn't horrible, it is just okay.

Fantastic Service!! My fiancé and I were taking engagement pictures and needed a place to escape the heat. We stopped here right as they opened and noticed how pretty the cafe was so we went to snap a few pictures inside. The entire waitstaff noticed and were very quick to congratulate us. They told us we were more than welcome to have a complete photoshoot inside the cafe! As we were taking pictures they brought us a slice of one of if not the best pieces of cake I've ever tried and a chalk board with both of our names congratulating us! We don't travel to Nola very often but the next time we do we'll definitely be coming back! Huge 'Thank You' to the waitstaff for making our day!

What a great spot for a Brennan's restaurant! Cafe NOMA is located inside the New Orleans Museum of Art, is tastefully decorated, and the prices are pretty reasonable. My mom and I stopped in for lunch today, and had a really nice time. It's a counter service restaurant, so you place your order and have a seat in their brightly lit dining room. There are floor to ceiling windows, and each table is graced with fresh flowers. The prices were very reasonable. My mom had the pizza of the day, I had a beet slider and a cup of rosemary-potato soup, and we each had an iced tea. Our total was right at $26. Her pizza (mushroom, bacon, green onion, Marsala sauce, mozzarella and cheddar) was delicious, as was my beet slider (herbed goat cheese, a thick slice of roasted beet on a multi-grain roll), and my rosemary potato soup. One gripe - When we finished our iced teas no one came to refill them. I added a $5 tip, because I thought there would be someone to bring refills or check on our table occasionally, but maybe that's not accurate. My mom eventually walked to the counter to ask about the refills, and they sent someone over a couple of minutes later with a pitcher of fresh, cold tea. Overall, it was a good experience. I'm happy with the food, and I can live with the service.

The fried chicken sandwich and turkey melt had excellent reviews at our table as did the cappuccino. Very lightly mixed cocktail but refreshing. I appreciated the salty beet salad with the exception of a few "salt bombs" - as if a few clumps had randomly dislodged from a shaker. I waited in a line while someone was refunded for a falafel sandwich she didn't like. My companion confirmed that her falafel was also very dry and not at all flattering to real Mediterranean food. Well worth stopping to eat while enjoying the museum. Many good menu selections and a case of tempting pastries and cakes. Lovely cafeteria overlooking the pond and greenery.

Outstanding! Great service and the shrimp poke is fabulous! Nice surprise inside the museum for a great Ralph Brennan restaurant. Chicken sandwich was great too.

Ethiopian bowl was delicious, filling, and the portion is large. While not completely authentic (there was no spiciness whatsoever) the food quality is well-above that which you would expect a museum cafe to be. Presentation is also great and the cafe decor itself is bright, airy, well-decorated, and inviting. The menu is surprisingly intentional. I think I would find myself in this cafe even if I weren't visiting city park tbh.

Very disappointed with this place.... Drove all the way here to enjoy good food. First of all the place is in the middle of construction and there is no nice view. You have to order everything at the counter. Nobody welcomes you and takes care of your orders. Asked for a latte they brought me a latte.. except it was really cold. I asked them to warm it up for me because you know you don't pay 4$ for nothing... they brought it back to me so hot that I burned my tongue.. and they messed up the entire foam and the cup had spillage all over it. The salmon bruschetta was probably the only good thing. If food is good I will say so. Delicious. The rest of the food was horrible. I love seafood and I would never leave a shrimp on my plate... the salad they brought me was beyond disgusting... it was not fresh... tomatoes were soggy and the shrimp omg... the thought of it makes me sick.. it smelled like chlorine and tasted like chlorox... I left the salad there on the table... along with chlorinated shrimp. Chicken salad had hair in it. Won't describe it any further. Overall paid 52$ for nothing. Very disappointed.

Because this is touted as a Ralph Brennan venture, and knowing that he has a reputation in New Orleans for having high class restaurants, several of them, I was expecting class. But, this is a cafe in the museum. Not that it's a bad thing, but, I should have had lower expectations. Not gutter low, but not as high as I had. You order from the menu at the counter and seat yourself. I would expect a bit more extensive of a menu, but it is lacking somehow. I had the French dip sandwich, my mother had the chicken salad sandwich, my father had half a chicken salad sandwich and the soup. They both enjoyed their meals. I found the French dip to be a bit salty. You do get lovely views of the lake. The restaurant is neat, clean, and the service was nice. The waitress was quite lovely.

This place is perfect as far as I'm concerned. It's located inside of NOMA (the coolest spot in the city) in City Park (City Park is majorly awesome) AND it's a Brennan's property. You just don't get more New Orleans than this. It's so nice to stop in and eat a little snack while watching the things going on in the park through the big picture windows. The BBQ Chicken Sliders were so good and service was, of course, impeccable. The best part, though, was the bell hanging from a satin bow on every chair stamped with "Cafe NOMA" to take home. Such a nice touch and great reminder of a perfect New Orleans experience.

Hungry from a big walk...and up n down the connected Noma art gallery...we dined in. It's not bad. A tad corporate for my taste possibly. Better than airplane food maybe, but comparable. Dry bowl of salad with rice for 12 bucks hit the mark....barely. Was latish afternoon, happen they used lying around dried overdone cubes of seasoned chicken breast? Not busy, but service whilst friendly was ponderously slow. One really lovely overworked cashier doing orders, coffees, organising. Not bad as such, 3 stars being generous....coz in this town... with amazing food everywhere........ well I found myself at New Orleans Museum of Art...... Captive audience, 'only show in town' syndrome, possibly ?

Amazing food! The value was off the charts for an eatery inside of a museum. My daughter had the vegetable panini and rated it 10 out of 10. This was the first food item she rated a ten in her life. The pastries are outrageously delicious! The only tiny thing that I can note is that the description of the South Western Flat Bread didn't mention tomatoes and it has tomatoes. I have a mild tomato allergy so I simply took the tomato off, but for someone with a more severe allergy that information in the description would be helpful. Thinking about returning tomorrow for lunch, even paying the $15 per person museum entrance fee. The food was that so good I would pay an additional $45 to eat it again!

Beautifully bright and scenic, all while serving economical and tasty food, this café is definitely worth a stop-in if you're in city park. Nice petite menu with great prices! Usually when you go to a cafe that's attached to a museum, especially one as nice as this, they try to price gouge you. Not here! We were recommended to eat here by the woman working in the sculpture garden nearby. "You can eat for $10" is all we needed to hear. The atmosphere is lovely. Open and clean with lots of windows, you can get a bite with a nice view here. The service was wonderful as well. As for the food, the portabella sliders are a must-try. Everything from the cheese, to the bread to the bitty marinated mushrooms was spectacular. I ordered a tomato bisque soup which was enjoyable as well. Despite the fact that it's attached to a museum, I would actually go out of my way to eat here. (If I didn't live in NJ, that is.) Absolutely worth it! Come check this place out aftee you're done perusing the artwork next door.

This used to be one of my go-to places for a quiet and quick lunch. As I continue to go, I'm disappointed with each visit. Recently, I ordered one of the salads and it was super bland. Today, I decided to go back hoping my last visit was just an off day for them. I ordered a basil lemonade and bbq fries. The lemonade taste like it was made from a powder and fries ($8!) were just regular fries lightly drizzled with water down bbq and blue cheese sauce and heavily seasoned with paprika. This place joins the long list of restaurants that will serve you anything for your money. I will not be going back.

It had been years since I last ate here, so I was pleased when this was the choice for a working lunch earlier this week. The menu covers all the bases from paninis to flat bread pizza to salads, etc. The staff is lovely. Order at the counter, take your number and wait for your food to be delivered which will be pretty darn quick. There is also some outside seating in a courtyard if the weather is agreeable. And the views are stupendous, especially since we could see a water spout out over the lake from the huge plate glass windows. I was pleased to see there was an exterior door so that you don't have to go through the museum. It's over near the Big Lake side of the museum, or to the right as you face the front steps. I got the spinach salad with blue cheese and grapes (1/2 size) and it was huge plus I got a cup of the daily soup which was curry cauliflower. Great curry flavor but the soup was really thin. Definitely a great spot to get a quick beverage (I think they advertise beer & wine but I saw bottles of booze behind the counter) and a lovely light meal.

Most of the items of the menu are out, and no mozzarella (might be because of Mardi Gras). Got the wrong pizza, but the shrimp cheddar flat bread pizza was delicious.

Loved this restaurant! First of all you don't need to go to museum (we didn't have time but it looked like a good one!) You can sit inside or out at the cafe and either way you get a water view! Restaurant is very chic and the food was fresh and healthy. Needed to do a non-creole/beignet meal. Spinach salad had craisins, berries, apples and cheese with a yogurt dressing. Shrimp bisque and panini were excellent. Nice gift shop also. Highly recommend going here.

Clean modern space with full of natural light and with well prepared light dishes were clean and fresh. It was perfect portion for lunch. The day we visited the museum café, the cafe was packed with silver hair ladies. They were very cute! Vietnamese salad was crispy clean salad (see my photo), Vietnamese dipping sauce (nuoc cham) like sweet tangy dressing was good but even better if you squeeze a fresh lemon over it, try it! My hubby had a grilled cheese sandwich (see my photo) and rich creamy mushroom leek soup. They were delicious too!

The hearts of palm salad was one of the best salads I ever had. Tomato basil soup was delicious and made from scratch. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes healthy,simple and fresh food.

Highly recommend eating either before or after the museum if you can. We made a day out of visiting the park and the museum, so we decided to eat with the museum. Unlike most museums, which have more of a cafeteria set up, NOMA actually offers some hot items. Order at the counter and then sit down at a table and wait for a server to bring your food to you. And then wait a little longer. And then wait a little longer. And then...you get the picture. I really don't think the cafe was that busy. Maybe they only have one person in the back making all the food. Either way, places that offer limited menus typically do so to speed up the work in the kitchen. They were very unsuccessful with that here. We ordered one panini and one salad and waited between 20-25 minutes after ordering to get our food. I might give them a pass on this if for some reason this particular day seemed out of the ordinary, but looking through other reviews it looks like the speed of the service is some sort of chronic problem for this cafe.

We didn't get a chance to grab lunch before going to NOMA so we decided to try out the cafe there. Like many of the new museum cafes, this is one is gorgeous. It has a huge glass window that looks out into a beautiful view of City Park - it's like staring into a painting. The food is also very fresh and tasty. We had a Cumin Lime Salad with Gulf Shrimp and a Pesto Sun-Dried Tomato flatbread. Both dishes looked like a painting in the museum. The food arrived quick - brought out by a nice stylish server. Would highly recommend this cafe for a quick bite or snack while at the NOMA.

I recently had gastric sleeve surgery and am unable to eat more than a couple ounces of food at a time. I asked if I could order just a half salad with no sandwich. I was told no, then I was told yes but it would cost me the same as the entire lunch special. I ended up ordering a cup of soup and, while the soup was good, I was very disappointed in this restaurant's unwillingness to cater to my specific medical needs. I expected better from the Brennan's brand!

Cafe located in the NOMA. The good and the bad... The good - the food is incredible. I had a spinach salad with bacon that was delightful. The smoked salmon bruschetta was very tasty. My wife had the roasted chicken salad. The bad - the service. We had waited about 10 min before I went to the counter to ask if we order there or at the table. The waitress said to order at the counter (that would have been nice to know as she walked by us several times while we were waiting to be served). Also, they refilled my drink but nobody came by to refill my wife's tea. Hmm.. Not too impressed. Ultimately, besides the poor service, the food and ambiance was nice and it did not spoil our experience.

Decent option for an upscale feel and simultaneously casual food while in the New Orleans Museum of Art. Dad had the house cured salmon bruschetta ($10) which looked excellent although not very filling and only large enough to share with one other person as an appetizer. Sister had the Spinach Pesto, Sun-Dried Tomato & Fresh Mozzarella ($10) which was large enough for me to share, but she consumed it by herself. She said the flavors were consistent with the description and enjoyed her meal. Mom had the turkey bacon panini ($12) which was a bit over priced in her opinion, but an okay lunch never the less. I had the salad ($10) with chicken, kalamata olives, artichokes, and other Italian anit-pasto yummys which was wonderful. Super flavorful dressing with a huge portion made this the best value in my opinion. This is counter service where you pay in advance and a server delivers the food to your table. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here (although others came just for the restaurant). I would however recommend stopping in if you find yourself inside the NOMA needing a bit to eat. It was raining the day we were there, but if I recall, there was also a nice patio to sit at.

Service could've been a little friendlier, and more drink/dessert menus, besides the ones at the really cramped counter would definitely help the confusion and frustration. Other than that the atmosphere is really nice and peaceful. We only had dessert and coffee and they were very good. An Irish Coffee right before checking out awesome exhibits makes for a better experience in my opinion. I've never had a huge fresh baked biscotti before. I was expecting some skinny ,hard , run of the mill biscotti, and was very pleasantly surprised to get the best biscotti I've ever had! It is massive and much softer than packaged biscotti.Will definitely be back to try some of the lunch items.
