The 25 Best Outdoor Patios In LA

"The days of Topanga Canyon’s LSD-fueled, counter-culture commune might be long gone, but there’s no denying this place is still weird as hell. Driving up from PCH, you’ll pass crystal shops, outdoor Shakespeare amphitheaters, and art installations that have become local landmarks. It’s a fun day trip that’s made even better with lunch at Cafe 27. The almost entirely outdoor space is built into the side of a hill with a multi-level patio that feels like you’re eating inside the treehouse of your childhood dreams. But instead of M&Ms and juice boxes, you’ll refuel on omelets, sandwiches, and a very respectable avocado toast." - brant cox, arden shore, sylvio martins, cathy park

Where To Eat After A Hike In LA

"Driving up Topanga Canyon from PCH, you’ll pass crystal shops, outdoor Shakespeare amphitheaters, and homemade art installations that have all become local landmarks. It’s a perfect post-hike jaunt when you aren’t ready to head back to reality, and one that’s made even better by having lunch at Cafe 27. The food was delicious and our server was very friendly. The atmosphere and ambiance was amazing. Great cool breeze on a hot day.

Google
I had Axellent Omelette while my coworker/friend had Mommy’s Combo, which were incredible delicious and amazing. We had matcha latte and caffe latte w/ almond milk, which was nice and hot on a cloudy day. The cafe was mainly outdoor seatings with nature surrounding it. It was nice and calm, especially since we had gotten there within 15 minutes from opening time. The service was at a decent speed, especially receiving the foods and drinks. There is a 90 minutes limit of dining in.

Google
It was a good experience, love nature and this location got it. Parking 10$ - also you could park on street. Something that was not great was the mosquitos abs bees - they were all over us - I went with my 2 month old baby and it was uncomfortable trying to have them out of the way while eating - the special sauce is good.

Jessica Sternick

Google
Food was overpriced for the quality. We really went to have coffee & dessert while planning a trip. Go for the atmosphere & the service. Parking was insane, free street parking or $10 valet parking.

Google
Amazing place! My favorite place to meet my friends 🙏🏼 A calm and cozy spot to relax, talk, and enjoy delicious food. Everything is clean, the staff is kind, the dishes are beautiful, and the forest vibe makes it extra special. Building a café here was such a great idea!

We drove from. Korean town about 1 hour there we didn’t book just walk in have to wait around 20 minutes food it’s ok but Hot chocolate is very bland. Price little high and have to pay for parking 10$

Google
Visited for the first time due to seeing this place on instagram. It is so quaint and unique. I love the "dining in the treetops" atmosphere. Reservations are required and we were seated almost immediately. The menu was vast and we chose smoked salmon toast and a tuna melt with fries. The smoked salmon toast was a 10/10. The tuna melt was a 6/10. I also enjoyed a tropical lemonade. This place has so much personality that I wish I could linger longer to enjoy the atmosphere. One caveat. I wanted to use the ladies restroom but my dinner mate advised me to not enter the bathroom because it was super gross. There were only 2 stalls and one was all clogged. Ugh no thanks. I'll hold it. Hopefully next time there will be a clean and working bathroom.

Google
Our first time here. Scenic cafe, beautiful view. We had a great experience. Food was good. Parking is limited, but you can valet for $7 not bad or park on side of road. It's of a busy Topanga Canyon. I recommend early arrival or reservations. Afternoon gets pretty busy. Enjoy!

Yelp
Come for the views and stay for the food. The servers were very attentive and polite. I am glad I booked a reservation because it was packed at 9:30am on a Saturday.

Yelp
I have come here about 2 or 3 times and have loved it every time. The food is amazing, the staff is super friendly and THE VIEWS!!! Honestly such a beautiful spot. You have to make reservations from what I remember but I'm not sure if that's still how it is. The parking - there is valet but sometimes it gets sooo packed so you have to park on the canyon. So be careful crossing and walking. I will def be back many times!

Yelp
Was just here last week, it was such a beautiful experience, I am incredibly sadden by the recent fires affecting the areas nearby. I hope the cafe recovers soon! This place has a very stellar view of the hillside up in the Santa Monica Mountains. Came right upon opening and it was pretty cold. Luckily they started turning on the heat lamps and the drip coffee helped as well. The food was okay, portions were pretty small for the price. It's definitely a place you go for the wonderful ambience and very chique dining ware. One of the best things about this place is the cafe cat Mimi. She is absolutely adorable and friendly. She likes to sit on top of the various retro cars on premise and occasionally will come up to guests and let them pet her. She pretty much does her own thing but is irresistible to not notice personally. Very cute personality and is the soul of the cafe! I just checked their IG and it appears Mimi is safe and they were all able to evacuate safely. Thank goodness!

Yelp
$7 Parking, Expensive menu for bland food, awesome views...if you can get seated with the view... As others have said before the food was your standard cafe/breakfast meal but with a dinner menu pricepoint. I ordered the Disco Sandwhich and other reviewers have also stated the sandwich was bland/boring and for me the turkey did not taste right possibly expired or near full expiration. My fiance ordered the Tagine and it is NOT a tagine it was a white-washed excuse for one but way better than my sandwhich.... We paid our bill without complaining or returning the food. The server noticed our dissatisfaction and tried to get us to stay and try something else but we declined since we just wanted to get out of there and get better food elsewhere. The view was awesome and that is the only saving grace of this place. Really disappointed since the Instagram posts made it seem so much better and worth the visit from SD. Would not recommend, and will not return.

Yelp
A beautiful place to have an outdoor breakfast. There is a parking lot but you have to valet if you choose to park there. There's street parking, but the street can be pretty busy. I chose the pancakes, eggs, and bacon--the classic American breakfast. It was served with a side of pure maple syrup. Literally no complaints! Food was hot, tasty, and it was devoured in under 10 minutes. Prices are okay--more on the expensive end for breakfast but it can be related to the beautiful scenery you will enjoy during your meal.

Yelp
Gorgeous place and a fun experience! The sandwich I ordered was so incredibly bland, albeit pretty. I expected a little more but since the place is so pretty I can give a good review. I believe there is probably good food here. It's just not the turkey disco sandwich. The coffee I got was pretty good, though!

Yelp
We were headed to the beach and traveled over Topanga Canyon to PCH. Along the way we decided to have breakfast and reservations were available for 10am on a Friday morning, so we stopped in. We were greeted and sat upon arrival. We were seated at the barstools in the corner overlooking the canyon. It was a pretty day, birds chirping and canyon views to just enjoy and relax. The restaurant wasn't too busy when we arrived, but it was almost full when we were leaving. I definitely recommend making a reservation if possible. Our waitress was friendly and very attentive. We ordered a few things to share and two drinks. The food was good, no complaints, but I would say it's a bit costly here for what you get. Our bill was 75.00 not including tip. Parking is by valet for 7.00 or run across the highway and you have endless miles of free street parking. There is one restroom located by the parking lot and had a line both times I went to wash my hands. It was very clean and stocked. If you're passing through or in the area for a reason, I recommend stopping here. It's peaceful and very pretty. Otherwise, it's a trek through the canyon from either direction and traffic can build up quickly during peak hours. Enjoy!

Yelp
Such a charming tree house restaurant. The views are amazing! Pretty busy restaurant but we only ended up waiting for about 20 min(not bad). They have some unique items on the menu and I decided to go out on a limb and try something new so I ordered the TAHDIG BENEDICT and let me tell you..:: it was amazing! Crunchy and savory and just superb. I also ordered a matcha drink and a turmeric drink and those were also both yummy. The service was good just a little slow. Seems like there was only one server for that whole section and also a couple of helpers but still took awhile to get someone for assistance.

Yelp
Beautiful views. Good service. Food was different and delicious. My coffee was not great but I wanted to try something different.

Yelp
This gem of a place stands above the rest when it comes to AMBIANCE. We made a reservation which I highly recommend. We also had no issues with valet parking on a Thursday. You pay $7.00 + tip. You can also find outside parking during the week, with no problem...but, I would venture to say during the weekends, it's not going to be easy. We ordered the Paradise Pastrami, and the Mommy's Choice. The Mommy's Choice is reasonably priced @ $24.00 and not anything out of the ordinary. Two eggs, two pieces of bacon and two pancakes. Nothing to write home about. You could get that anywhere for less. The Paradise Pastrami $27, was well presented, tasty with a fresh salad mix. The pastrami was a bit tough to be honest, but the overall taste with that secret sauce was delightful. I would order that again. I ordered cappuccino with oat milk (one dollar extra for the oat milk) it was delicious! Drip coffee was also good. Overall order $66.00, plus $12.00 tip, + coffees $10.00, $7.00 valet, +$3.00 tip. $98.00 for breakfast!...priceless. Too expensive for my taste. It's nothing out of the ordinary for the price. But for a first time and or special occasion, it's a good choice. Service was excellent!

Yelp
Cleanliness: 5 out of 5 Service: 4 out of 5 Atmosphere: 5 out of 5 Food: 3.75 out of 5 Our order: Tuna melt, the vegan club, avocado toast, mint cucumber lemonade, raspberry lavender, and matcha latte. Reflection: What I enjoyed most of cafe 27 is the atmosphere and the views! It's pretty dope to have brunch in a treehouse! The food can use some improvement when it comes to flavor and the avocado toast was hard. I'm definitely open to giving their breakfast menu a try.

Yelp
Cute place to grab a bite, but beware of bugs!! We sat on the canyon view area which had lots of bees visiting us and our food as well! Service was fast, staff was friendly, our food was nice portions, and the cafe was very clean considering majority of it is outdoors. Parking is only on the street or valet.

Yelp
It's a unique place if you're in the area. It overlooks a forest and it's a cute aesthetic. Food was good, I got a disco sandwich. At first I was thrown off by the color because it didn't look appetizing but the sandwich was good. The steak and mashed potatoes were a better option imo, I had tried some from my friends plate. It's kinda small but most of the seating is outside.

Yelp
Views are 100/5, service 5/5, and food is 4/5 - really decent. Make a reservation in advance! Weekends are res only! Tagine 4.5/5 - really flavorful with yummy crusty bread French toast 4/5 - a solid, simple French toast. Nothing too fancy, hits the spot! Matcha latte 5/5 - a MASSIVE cup and really yummy matcha

Yelp
Cafe on 27 We meet again. Stopping in around 1:30pm on a Wednesday was a great choice, it was pretty busy in just about all parts of this chic elevated tree house of a restaurant. We came here for the ambiance, Arnold Palmer (his drink), canyon vibes and coffee on a perfect weather day at this hidden gem. The vintage European cars, Harley Davidson motorcycle, 50s style stove, Cafe cat, Persian style rugs, waterfalls, natural plant life and layout are all to be taken in. It's a great LA must, romantic, touristy, scenic and enjoyable. The food is a blend of Persian, Moroccan, Italian and American cuisine... Basically a melting pot of fusion, flavor and fun. While the Rasta Pasta (add Beyond Chicken) is hands down my favorite meal here you can enjoy pasta dishes, salads (they have Mediterranean, Burrata and Berry/fruit), sandwiches (such as the Vegan Club nom nom), Toasts, so many Entrees, Breakfast dishes... Especially brunch and Pizza - check out Pizza Wednesdays from 6:30pm to 9:30pm (the only time/day this brekkie, brunch, lunch and cafe spot is open at night). Service is stellar in every way, all the staff is friendly, easy going and helpful. Can I be friends with everyone at Cafe on 27? Reservations can be made online through their website via OpenTable (though would be cool to see Yelp Reservations), but this works great also. If you want to plan a large event or have a group bigger than 6 to 8 I would definitely suggest calling to reserve (as is also recommend when booking online). There is a large section below for big gatherings, occasions, and so on. Restrooms are out when you first cross out of the parking lot to the foot of the walk up before the gift shop and other businesses - you'll see a sign for them. Valet is pretty much the only option for parking, but it's super easy ($7). It gets better every time here and I can't wait to come back for my third time.

Yelp
Giving Cafe on 27 a 3-star review because of the beautiful views in the heart of Topanga Canyon that it offers. However, I don't think the Avocado toast was a good choice for me. The toast was too hard/chewy in my opinion. Also did not care much for the fennel, seeds, and radish on top unfortunately. Remember to make a reservation if you plan on going there, especially on the weekends.
google avatar

Sarah O.

Yelp
If you want to come during the weekend you should really make a reservation. The website clearly recommends that you should make reservations as well for weekends. We had a reservation and our table was ready right on time! I understand why it's so busy, this is truly a one-of-a-kind ambience and definitely worth a visit to come here! The kofta tajin was delicious nothing overwhelming with the sauce in the eggs but the meatballs themselves were great. The spices were on point and cooked perfectly! Sandwich was my favorite! The meat melted in your mouth and full of flavor. Get the iced chai latte you will not be disappointed. My only regret was not saving room for dessert. Keep in mind that this place is parking is really limited so be ready to pay valet . It is not the easiest place to walk through, something to consider if you have any mobility issues. I would suggest calling and making sure they have a table that is easier to get to.

Yelp
Came here on a date and loved every moment of it! The scenery, the food, the service... such a cute place to visit to have a nice meal.
google avatar

Yelp
such a unique and relaxing experience, and it's a restaurant you'll want to take all your family and friends to! I could sit there all day with my Italian macchiato & take in the views and I'm sure you will too so I want to make sure you're aware that there is a 90 minute max when you're there! The atmosphere is amazing, but the food is just as important, and they nailed that too! Below is what we ordered: *Pastrami Paradise Sandwich $27 - 5/5 *Mediterranean Salad *Italian Macchiato 5/5 fyi it's teeny tiny!!
google avatar

Ehecatl M.

Yelp
Been hearing about this place for a while now and finally got to try it. The views while eating are a beauty, but if you're afraid of heights, recommend eating inside! So we ordered few different items and they were all real good, specifically the sweet potato fries and syrup that they use, sweet but not diabetic sweet. We were sat pretty fast and the waiters were quite friendly. Only thing I would change is maybe adding a few more items to the menu! Coffee was a bit overrated, not much flavor to the lattes, overall pretty good and I do recommended!
google avatar

Lou L.

Yelp
Food is well prepared but menu is almost the same with some of the cafes around. The atmosphere is very unique though.. it is great place to bring your guest from other city or state. This is not a place to catch up with your friends or celebrate. There is 90-minute limit per table. They are busy and tables are always full. With that being said, this is not a quiet place. We were nicely asked by our server to leave as the next reservation already arrived. I may not come back just because I usually stay in a place more than 90 minutes, for business or meeting a friend. But our experience is awesome. Bathroom is shared for all genders. 2 cubicles side by side. That made me a little uncomfortable.
google avatar

Sandra G.

Yelp
Really great food, service and always attentive to making sure you are taken care off.

Yelp
Went here for a friend's birthday during brunch time on a saturday. Although aesthetically pleasing it fell short on my expectations. We ordered waffles, matcha lattes and the kafta. We were not very impressed with the food. The wait time was around 15 minutes and we had to pay for valet. The restaurant was seated at the mountains which had an amazing view. I felt like we paid for the view rather than eat good food.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon with my boyfriend and had an okay experience here. Parking here is valet only ($7). They take multiple methods of payment (cash, card, etc). The view at this place is alright. It's just trees lol. I think that the food here is overpriced. We were better off going elsewhere. My boyfriend and I spent almost $60 on 2 drinks and 2 dishes. We ordered the smoked salmon toast and the Tuscany toast. The smoked salmon toast was just decent, definitely not worth $18, in my opinion. Maybe it was the weather, but I wish the salmon was a little colder. The salmon was extremely fishy to me. The Tuscany toast was better than the smoked salmon one. I liked the balsamic that it had on it. I really think it balanced out the flavors. But $18 for a slice of toast is pushing it for me. The drinks we ordered were $8 each. He ordered the chai latte, which was pretty good. It did not have an overwhelming cinnamon flavor. It was the perfect balance between spice and milk. I was not a fan of the matcha latte that I had. I felt that the matcha was not fully ground down. It would've been better with a little more vanilla flavor and sweetness.

Yelp
This place popped up as I was searching for a place to have breakfast at as we made our way from LAX to Ojai. This was a little out of the way in Topanga Canyon but 100% worth the detour! This outdoor cafe is a few stories and offers beautiful views of Topanga Canyon! When we pulled up, there was about a 5-10 minute wait for a table. They have a little shop right there so we entertained ourselves by looking around while we waited. We got lucky enough to get a spot after a few minutes over looking the canyon and the weather was perfect. We ordered coffee and a chai latte to start. Both were delicious! For our entrees my boyfriend and I ordered the pastrami paradise sandwich and the axellente omelet. Both dishes were generous portions, made fresh, and tasted delicious. The homemade sourdough bread was AMAZING. I could have just kept eating the bread alone. The pastrami sandwich I think was a bit too heavy for me for a morning meal, but the taste was delicious nonetheless. Service was attentive and fast so we were able to get in and out within an hour. Definitely recommend this place if you are in the area!

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant in Topanga that serves breakfast/brunch with an incredible view! If you're lucky enough to be seated by the edge then you can get a great view of the mountains, but if not you still get a gorgeous canopy and outdoor patio vibe. The food here is not your typical brunch fare either -- lots of interesting and unique options, both sweet and savory. We opted for the tahdig benedict (pastrami, poached eggs, over a crispy rice waffle) and the kofta tagine (3 eggs, baguette, tomato sauce, with kofta meatballs) and both were fantastic!! Definitely both on the savory salty and heavy side but the perfect meal after a long hike. Service was very friendly here and food came out fast, and although we didn't make a reservation, we were seated within 30 minutes. Would recommend making a res though as it got quite busy. The ambiance is incredible here and so is the food! A bit pricey but worth it at least once :)

Yelp
Beautiful hidden paradise on the top of the hill , crispy fresh air mixed with lavender and wild flowers aroma . Great view and amazing and atmosphere. Food 5/5 fresh delicious homemade with great spices just perfect to give a great taste Service 5/5 our server was active , she came in right away to take our orders she was very nice and professional. I made a reservation I came with my husband, the owner created us with welcome and worm /big smile he told me that I will give you a special table specially for you we entered and the host showed us our table with professional manner . I felt so special because they treated me like princess Thank you very much for all your generosity I totally appreciate your kindness I recommend this hidden gems Definitely I would love to come back soon

Yelp
Closer to a 3.9 than a solid 4. The ambiance is soooo pretty and the cauliflower pizza I had was so delicious!!! But they had 7 things missing on the menu that they were known for the day I went and I feel like that's a pretty significant number not to have in your kitchen especially for those who trek further distances to try this place.

Yelp
Reservations are a must! When we got there, the table was ready, so getting seated went by pretty quick. Our server came around pretty quickly, but my bf wanted to try the Moroccan Mocha and they didn't have it, he ended up going with the Capuccino instead and I had their Caramel Caffe Latte. While looking at the menu, he decided on the Tadigh Benedict and I wanted the Axellent Omelette. We also wanted to try one of their waffles to share. When she came around again to take our food order, turns out they didn't have the Tadigh either, he ended up going with the Kofta Tagine and I ordered my Omelette. I did laugh a little when she mentioned they didn't have the Tadigh, because it just happened to be that 2/2 things my bf wanted, they didn't have that day. Not sure if this annoyed the server, or rubbed her the wrong way, I mean, it wasn't her fault, but as soon as we ordered, her tone wasn't very friendly and she said "okay can I get the menus back?" and didn't even give us a chance to order the waffles. ‍ I could have still asked for them, but then the way she asked for the menus back ended up rubbing me the wrong way. So we missed out on those. Overall food was good, my coffee was good, the vibe is cute, it's a really nice place in nature, cute little shop at the entrance. I'd try them again.

Yelp
My wife and I came here this morning to grab breakfast. We been here before last year and had a great time dining so we wanted to come back again. I made reservations off OpenTable 2 days in advance because if you try doing it the day before, it might be all booked already. I selected Outdoor Garden, Canyon view for our seating. Since we came here before I knew it was valet parking or you can try parking your own car on Route 27 if there space. I didn't mind doing the valet so I chose that. The valet staff were very nice with me and was asking me questions about my car. They took great care of my car while parking it since I was watching them and I also checked the interior camera I have afterwards as well. When we checked in, they were able to sit us right away even though we were early and they let us choose which seats we wanted at their canyon view area. We chose the corner and it was still a nice view. I had the burger here before which I like but this time I went with their Nutella wafflea and asked for whipped cream on the side. My wife got their French toast and iced chai latte since she believes they have the best chai latte. She had the clam chowder here the first time we came and didn't like it. Our waiter was very friendly with us and attentive to our table. It didn't take long for our food to come out and the presentation is beautiful. I did notice that there are less fruits when coming it to other pictures but we understand the current situation. I thought the Nutella wafflea was good and asking for whipped cream on the side was the best choice since they give a lot. My wife enjoyed her French toast but got full quick so we swap our dish and I ate her French toast. I thought the French toast was good but it's heavy and will fill you up quick. The view and environment here is very nice. The bathroom here is co-ed so there no separate men and women bathroom which surprise me since we didn't use it last time we were here. There are also gift shops that you can check out before leaving or while waiting to be seated. I will say the chairs with no cushion are not comfortable if you're sitting there long but they also have a 90 min dining limit which I don't know if they are strict on. There are some chairs with cushion but not that I saw in the area we sat.

Yelp
On paper, Cafe on 27 seems like a pretty good place for eating with a view since it's pretty much an outdoor restaurant with a bunch of trees everywhere. I think it's pretty overhyped for what it is as the view is just okay. When you drive along the 27, it's a pretty curvy road with a lot of trees along the side of it. The drive it self is fun but other people tend to drive very slow on it. It's like a canyon road I would say and it can get pretty nauseating if you're not used to that. So when you arrive you can either find parking on the street (which is very limited) or you can use their valet parking service. I don't like people touching my car so I typically just park the car myself and pay the valet fee and they allowed me to do that. So the restaurant is mostly outdoors and there are different types of seating. I would say there is no "bad seat" and for those that want the best view at the edge of restaurant it's not worth it. The coverings don't really cover that area so you get a lot of leaves falling into your food/eating area. It's also very close to the edge so if you knock something over or drop your phone, it's game over essentially. It's also like bar seating and it's very tight and narrow. I recommend a table. The restrooms are out by the valet parking and it's a bit confusing. It's not really distinguished between Men and Women and they seem gender neutral. The food itself is mediocre. There wasn't anything really wow about it except the price. They had a green juice smoothie for 15 dollars and it didn't taste like it was worth 15 dollars lol. Service is slow. I requested a cup of ice because they just leave a bottle of water on the table and it's not cold, and it wasn't until I was pretty much done eating is when I got my cup of ice. I came on a really hot day, like in the 90s and it doesn't feel hot. There's a good breeze that passes by and it's mostly shaded. Overall, not worth the hype and it's like a visit once and done kind of place. Driving on the 27 can be nauseating with all those twist and turns so I would be cautious about that.

Yelp
Such an awesome spot in Topanga! Great the second time around as well. Street parking (really mountain parking) is a little sketch but they also valet. We came for a weekend brunch so it was quite busy! All outdoor patio space so it was dog friendly. All the staff was friendly and informative. Loved the energy and vibesI had the pastrami sandwich which was delicious! Would opt for the fries next time instead of the side salad (very basic if you into that). In the sandwich the house sauce has a perfect/sweet tangyness that complemented the meat well. Loved the big cutting board / rustic presentations. Look forward to next time!

Yelp
Absolutely lovely every time I visit. It's amazing to get there early, sit overlooking the beautiful greenery, and enjoy a great cup of coffee, particularly in the winter months, when it's nice and chilly in the mornings. Food and service are top notch. Love the Axellent omelet!

Yelp
Excellent café with seven dollar valet parking or free parking along the Topanga Canyon Road. Ladies the bathroom is literally right by the entrance next to the shop I highly recommend to squeeze the lemon before you get seated because you could be seated pretty far down the canyon... The menu has a variety to choose from ranging from Drinx to Food and desserts. The pricing though is definitely comparable to a brunch place like Arden. Expensive!!! At least you get great views here. Steak and eggs are $38 and everything else is above $20. I went for the vegetarian omelette; the cheese that's in there goes really well with everything else!! Comes with a side of salad. I will definitely come here again and try a different view in and a different food item. Very very good service didn't even charge me when I ask for extra bread. The only reason this is not a five star review is due to the price. Not many people will pay more to come here just to have brunch.

Yelp
Headed up to the cafe with my family of four. Had seen a few recommendations for the Cafe on 27 in social media and was finally able to make a reservation on OpenTable a week ahead. I highly recommended you do that and request the valley view seating. Be aware the valley view seating is barstool type seating overlooking into the cafe's scenic view. Definitely worth while and a change of scenery for us. The service was prompt and overall friendly. I did feel like their could have been a notch more friendliness with regard to when it was time for us to order. I felt like it was more like hurry up and know what you want and order it, than asking us hey is this your first time here, let me help you get acquainted with the menu. Also, such as to offer any starters or soup etc, that didnt happen either. Once we got our food everything went well. We ordered an assortment of items one for each of us, all of which were good: Braised brisket special Vegan Sandwich Ribeye steak Ultimate? Hamburger My son commented that it was one of the best burgers he'd ever had. We all had a pleasant experience at the Cafe and would love an opportunity to return in the future.

Yelp
This location is worth my 1-hour drive because it has spectacular scenery! It has a refreshing mountain view with plenty of handcraft or vintage decorations. It makes you feel like you are in the wood but you are not. I ordered the Kofta Tangine, but unfortunately, they are out of baguettes. I wish they could let me know when I placed the order because this dish has a baguette to put on top of the container. I picked this dish because of that. The juice they made is rich and tasty, you can tell it is freshly made! This place is beautiful but it has many narrow staircases to climb, if you are not good at climb up and down, it is better to put down what you need when you make reservations. All the open area is dogs friendly, therefore, it is perfect for dog lovers! I will come back to dine in again if I am in the area. Parking space is easily occupied but street parking is available. The only thing is you have to keep an eyes on the road since people drive pretty high speed in the mountain/

Yelp
We went here for a breakfast with a view and it was very nice! It was a little fresh to be sitting outside but they have had plenty of space heaters (huge plus for me since I'm always cold) the service was good and our server was nice. I got the organic inhouse hot coffee and my fiancé got the expresso both were delicious. The food came out shortly afterwards and was amazingly delicious. We would come back.

Yelp
First off there's the location--covered decks overlooking the Topanga canyon treetops. Next, there's the service--friendly, helpful. And then there's the food which is excellent. I had the Tahdig eggs benedict with shaved pastrami over Persian crispy rice, a combination I'd never had anywhere else and it was delectable! My friend had the Pastrami Paradise sandwich with egg, jalapeño, havarti. It's a lovely place to spend an afternoon or evening! Reservations are highly recommended. There's valet parking and it's often possible to park on the side of the road nearby.

Yelp
Service was great! Extremely friendly staff :) Ambiance was very cool and calming! Food was good but not great. I enjoyed the Kofta Tagine! The meatballs were smaller than I had thought and the bread was bit too tough. The Rasta Pasta was good but not great so I would recommend getting something else. The coffees were amazing! Caffé latte and Moroccan mocha were very delicious.

Yelp
This was on my must-try list and I'm so glad I finally went. I ordered the Kofta Tagine. If you like Shakshouka or an egg breakfast, this is a great dish to get. I wanted something on the lighter side for my meal. The portion was just right and not heavy where I felt like I overate. I also ordered their house-made Chai. Our waiter highly recommended it as a popular item. I had hot chai earlier elsewhere in the morning so I was iffy on having another cup, but I was glad I got it. It was absolutely delicious and I almost finished it as soon as my cup came out. I've made chai at home and this tasted just like it with strong flavors. Ambiance was great. My friend and I just came from the Getty Villa and this place was the next perfect stop. It was sprinkling and foggy that day but we felt cozy and right at home. If you ever been to cafes along the coast like in Big Sur, similar vibes (and cost-- so know what you are paying for). Just wonderful nature. There is valet parking for $7 if I recall right, but my friend and I parked further down on the side of the road and walked over. It can be pretty crowded. I planned my day-trip around this spot. Definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Of course, Tree House vibes was INCREDIBLE! Just love the details! Hands down our FAV was the Pastrami Paradise Sandwich! You can taste every layer. The pastrami was generous and had firm edges and tender and so flavorful and maybe a little sweet. It reminded me of thick cut bacon. The sauces and runny egg was the perfect compliment. Each bite was so satisfying. The steak hash was also a great compliment to the sandwich. The beef was distinctly chunky and tender and we deliciously combined the sauces between the two dishes. The churro chai pancake was okay and was a bit dry, it definitely needed extra sauce than what it came with. And I couldn't really taste the chai. We loved that it wasn't crowded when we got there on a Thursday 9:30a. HOWEVER, we didn't know if we could sit ourselves or wait. So we wandered in. Unfortunately, they seemed understaffed that morning and the one server found us wandering in. She seemed really stressed and maybe a little annoyed when she found us wandering. She was brief and just sat us at a convenient spot. It wasn't the most welcoming experience but we let it pass because it's early. Our second server slightly made up for it with his charm but it was still hard to get his attention when we needed service. And it didn't help that my Earl Grey Tea took too long to arrive, I didn't think it would take much to put a tea bag over hot water but I was almost done with my meal before it arrived. It's always a struggle to park there so we happily paid the valet was $7 to park for us. Plus they had some kind of construction going in their parking lot.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience at Cafe on 27! Ok I was going to end with this but now decided to start with it. This meal was worth the beautiful drive (it took me 45 minutes on a weekday, I was committed). But the best part about this restaurant is the vibe. It has great energy, the staff is lovely and it's fun checking out all the random cars, appliances and other surprises they have decorating the space. We had avocado toast, French toast, mommy's combo and axellent omelet. Oh and chai lattes. The chocolate chip pancakes were great, not too sweet and the French toast was amazing! The ambience is like nothing else, sit out on the patio with the unobstructed view and enjoy the beauty of the Topanga mountainside. Also, our waiter was so sweet. Oh and visit the little shop, great jewelry and little trinkets.

Yelp
Maybe my expectations should've been lower. I'll admit, I gave into the hype. Indeed this place is unique and I'm sure many capture awesome photos for their social media. You get great views of the hillside no matter the table. The different levels of seating definitely is the charm in this Cafe. But it just didn't meet expectations for the entire experience. Service was slow and basic. No interaction and did not check in on us. They weren't rude but not friendly either. Had to wave down our waitress whenever we needed something like refills, cups of ice, or a box. Water was warm sitting in a bottle on the table. But I will say the valet guy was super cool. Let's talked about the overpriced food. Food wasn't bad but not great. I expected more with that price point. Presentation was mid. The Mommy's Breakfast combo was definitely weak and dry. And looks like something I'd put together for myself at home while acting like I was on a cooking show. (Mother in Law combo instead?) My party ordered different entrees. Nothing wow'd us and we felt the quality could've been better. All their drinks were served in clear plastic solo cups. I'm not quite sure I'd return. Perhaps with out-of-town guests on the way to beach. Maybe. Ok, that was a reach. Anyway, come on by for your social media posting needs. The ambience will most definitely wow you. But that's about it.

Yelp
It's so refreshing to go to a restaurant and have excellent service. You feel so welcomed from when you see the host to when you leave. The vibe vibes with the tree house feel. The food won't disappoint. It was so good. Ordered: Chicken Pesto Sandwich on sourdough Disco Club Sandwich 27 Burger Salmon plate Ice mocha latte Orange juice Sandwiches were flavored well Fries could be a bit more crispy, but still yum The Salmon was perfect with creamy mashed potatoes No complaints with the burger cooked perfectly

Yelp
Such a beautiful cafe situated in the Topanga mountains with amazing view & delicious bites!! Perfect place to visit before or after a hike, or while out exploring the Topanga area. Food - enjoyed the Moroccan tajine & had a delicious tuna melt, as well as some amazing clam chowder in a bread bowl. All of the food was so tasty & hit the spot for us! Service - service was very busy, as the restaurant is quite big & can get filled up quick, even on the weekdays. It did take a bit for us to be greeted & our orders to be taken - but luckily the atmosphere is so beautiful it almost made up for it. Ambiance - the ambiance of this cafe is a huge part of the reason to visit! It's almost like a giant treehouse in the mountains - quite magical. Most seats have a great view & feel like you are eating within a jungle almost. Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place & we were happy we like the food just as much!

Yelp
During my visit to Topanga, I stumbled upon the most charming spot perched atop a treehouse, offering a stunning view of the canyon. The ambiance was beyond cute, it felt like being in a serene hideaway. We ordered the salmon toast, pasta, and burger, and while everything was delicious, the salmon toast truly exceeded my expectations. The flavors were impeccable! The vibe was incredibly relaxing, making it the perfect spot to unwind. Although our server forgot the coffee, she was very apologetic, and the service overall was fast and attentive. All in all, a wonderful experience!
