Cafe Origins

Ok so, there is a lot to talk about here. Let's start with vibes, immaculate. Immediately warm staff and welcoming decor with legit tile patterns. Then, the high seats for the table are mad comfortable. 10/10 on comfortable cafe seating cause we have all been to those cafes where they punish you for sitting with hard uncomfortable chairs. Got a ginger ale from the fridge and a ginger shot. That shot was homemade and thick and it burned. 10/10 ginger shot. They even asked for the glass so they could wash and reuse it. Quality and mindfulness. Loved it Now, the food. Started with the chicken snack fries. Bro. Delish. Chicken was JUICY and flavorful and halal. Non-halal tastes all rubbery and traumatized, this was the opposite of that. 10/10 uncle on the grill It was nice to share and was a decent size but sharing meant room for more. So next, PANCAKES! Bro. Crispy edges (very important) perfectly fluffy inside and just like the perfect pancake with syrup and jam and butter all included. Demolished them pancakes. Idk if it's the batter or the hands that made them but...10/10 Since it was a very visit and I needed more data I got 1 each of the handpies. Lamb Sfeeha, Cornish Beef and Chicken Pot Pie. The Lamb Sfeeha was delish and I'm bout to smash the chicken pot pie and it's after midnight and I'm tired so I will edit this review later with a update on the pie. I wonder what the score will be... edit it was a 10/10 perfectly flaky crust. Stuffed full and so flavorful

I loved their orange juice!!! Also the pecan sticky bun is delicious. What a treat! They were out of smoothies when I went but the OJ made up for it and hit the spot. Staff is friendly and the place itself is so cute. I want to come back and try some food!

I love this place and frequent it often. Everyone who works here is great and so welcoming! Beth is always sweet and helpful when I don’t know what to order. I love the coffee, juices and sandwiches! The tuna melt add Fresno peppers is my go to. They have the best quiche ever- but I heard it might be changing which would make me so sad. Took someone here to try exactly that and was informed it might be changing. DON’T CHANGE THE QUICHE- it’s perfect the way it is :) Anyways best cafe in the area- everything is quality!

Should you come here for coffee? No, the cappuccino was below average. However, the patio here is very nice with plenty of shade. They offer many, potentially good, food options which I did not try. My review is based solely on my coffee experience.

AMAZING espresso! The cappuccino is delicious! One of the best coffees I’ve ever had! The chocolate croissant is amazing. Cinnamon roll was not so good…especially for the price. I will definitely be back for the coffee!

Ariel was so kind to us ! My best friend, niece and I had a wonderful experience here! Ariel took care of us and turned a hard day into a hopeful one not once, but twice. Between the hot chocolate, the ice creams we tried and the desserts we left satisfied in body and spirit! A true gift from God! And check out their Christmas tree! It has the cutest decorations!

Wow, this place is awesome. Totally fresh with the best ingredients. From the home ground coffee to the pastries, everything is super yummy. A rare treat in an ocean of average overpriced food in Birmingham. I was here for breakfast but the lunch and dinner menu looks sublime.

I ordered a pistachio latte and it was amazing! The best one I had yet 💛 I asked for a little extra sweetened condensed milk cause I like my coffee a wee bit sweet and 10/10 would recommend! The outdoor patio is cute and spacious and its atmosphere indoors is nice, balancing natural light and a dim-cozy aesthetic vibe.

The service was truly amazing! I love the food and my London Fog. Shayla and Erik were truly a blessing. They went over the menu, cleaned our tables. brought our food to our table, and engaged in conversation to make us feel welcome. These two deserve an applause for a job well done. The whole team was amazing! This was a first experience for my friend and I. We did not want to leave the restaurant as it was so cozy and friendly. This will be our go to place moving forward. Great service! So many delicious baked goods, but chose the cinnamon roll which was great! Also really enjoyed my shrimp rollo...the pita bread is so good!

Easiest 5 stars I've ever given. The service was great. Someone takes your order at the front and then they bring it out to you at a table. Not sure why I haven't heard about it yet but it is a great place to get quality food and enjoy your meal. Very enjoyable atmosphere. It seems like every person who walks in loves it.

This is a new grab and go shop in Birmingham. They also have a bunch of high top tables . The space looks very nice, clean, open, modern. A nice selection of pies, quiches, salads, soups, as well as sweet selections. Definitely give it a try!

Was happy to try this new spot in Birmingham recently. Found the ambiance to be bright and cheerful, with staff that were friendly and helpful. Their menu proclaims the locale to be "more than coffee," and this description is spot-on. Offerings included hand pies, which consisted of a variety of pastries with different savory fillings. I got the curried potato samosa (delish!), while the co-diner ordered the chicken pot pie - he liked it very much. The pastry used in the hand pies was flaky, buttery and flavorful - just what the diners ordered. Other options were: rollos (wraps), soups (we each got the clam chowder: highly recommend), salads, sandwiches, and quiches. There was also a lamb tagine as the day's special. For dessert, there were gelati and pastries. We split a hazelnut cookie - very nice. Good variety of options in all categories. Hot and cold beverages were on offer, from coffee to tea to juices, and even a chocolate egg cream. Will definitely need to come back and try that one.House-made bread was also available. We took a loaf home, and it was great. All in all, if you are looking for a sparkling clean and friendly place for lunch or a light dinner (or even a more satisfying dinner, if you get the daily special), Cafe Origins will hit the spot.

Such a great place! The food is amazing and there are so many great things to choose from. Bread and pastries made in house. The staff and atmosphere just make the experience even better. We are lucky to have Chef Alex here in Birmingham!

Food was mediocre at best, took 25 minutes just to get it, Shocking that a place can be so unprofessional and immature that they take actions that can ruin a customers experience, you're not there to have fun, you're there to cook for the customers and grow as a cook. To just sit there and laugh with your other employees while they number one thing in your restaurant (the customers) matter most and you aren't putting them first? ridiculous.
