I loved the simple presentation of the dishes. If the vegetables and fish are fresh they don’t need a lot of masking with sauces and what not. The salmon was excellent and quite unique. There was a breaded horseradish sauce on top. We also liked the bread pudding drenched in maple syrup.

Dining at Pro Bono Restaurant was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was calm and cozy even on the busiest evening and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. They were clearly passionate about the restaurant's mission, and their enthusiasm made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Plus, the food was fantastic!

Google
Decided to have lunch at CPB since it's been a while. Service was really good! The food was delicious. Carpaccio was sliced really thin like it should be and tasty. The smoked salmon panini was really good! Lastly the risotto was creamy and the Mary's chicken slices on the risotto really tender and delicious. You can tell how good the carpaccio and risotto was based on the pictures of the empty plates. We recently went for dinner and weren't disappointed. We sat at the bar and the bartender Virginia and Akif were excellent. We had a great time interacting with them. We had a cocktail and some wine of course. Dinner was amazing, we started with an app special, followed by Gulf Prawns, Risotto SP and finished with an apple tart.

Google
Excellent Italian restaurant in Palo Alto. It has been there for a long time and there is a reason it has endured: great food, great service and great atmosphere. My mother-in-law loves to go there when visiting and they always remember her. It is the sign of a special place when they remember not only the regulars, but people that come once a year. I had duck this last time which was excellent, albeit a smallish portion. The beef carpaccio was delicious. If you are super hungry, I suggest you stick with the pasta dishes. Desserts are also top notch.

Google
Located next to the police station and near the court house . Ergo the play on words Pro Bono Cafe. Came here with my cousins father and 10 month year old and I got the seafood linguini which was good but the bill for four was 245$ way to pricy for my taste. Have to go back and change review to add that cute little gem vomited everything she ate all over our bedspread ruining it completely. Poor little girl.

Google
The rack of lamb is delicious! It was cooked just as I asked, and the vegetables and potatoes were done nicely too. The service is attentive without being intrusive; and the atmosphere is quiet just the way I prefer when dining alone.

Google
The waiter was fantastic. Super kind and would often come to our table. I got the Capellini Pomodoro and the Warm Apple & Pistachio Torta. The dessert was my favorite part. The pasta wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was still good (I felt it needed some protein to accompany it). My friends got the Rigatoni, and it looked really good.

Google
Fantastic place all around. The food is excellent. They NY Strip was prepared perfectly. The homemade sausage in the Rigatoni was not to spicy -- so just right. Loved the Susan's Downfall, very rich -- so perfect as an appetizer. We had a bottle of the Barnet Pino Noir which was worth every penny. Service was exceptional. Atmosphere was welcoming and lively. We decided to use this place for an upcoming wedding rehearsal.

Yelp
A bit of a fancier Italian oriented restaurant but the food was excellent and the service on top of everything. Overall had a wonderful business meal and experience here. We will be back

Yelp
Café Pro Bono - A Classic Italian Spot with a Loyal Following Café Pro Bono is an older, classic Italian restaurant with a clear sense of community. The clientele seems well-established--by the time we were leaving, regulars were chatting with the owner, asking about his family as if it were a weekly tradition. It's the kind of place where everyone knows each other, which gives it a warm, familiar charm. When we asked for recommendations, we got the classic "it's all good" response. And while everything was good, nothing stood out as great. We tried Susan's Downfall, a delicious ravioli dish topped with a rich Gorgonzola-based cream sauce--easily the highlight of the meal. The Tagliatelle with Smoked Chicken was also excellent, with perfectly cooked pasta and well-balanced flavors. For dessert, we had Bertucci's Favorite, a simple but satisfying vanilla gelato with a boozy berry compote that was just the right way to end the meal. Although- we were brought a delicious port after dessert. What a kind classic touch! Overall, Café Pro Bono is a solid, classic Italian joint that delivers good food in a welcoming setting. However, to stay relevant long-term, I'd love to see them modernize the experience a bit or develop a signature dish that truly sets them apart. Every great restaurant should have at least one thing it's famous for--right now, they do a lot of things well, but nothing exceptionally.

Yelp
If you want exceptional service, great food and ambiance then this is your place. Came here with my friend for coffee and dessert in the middle of the afternoon. The rain was coming down hard and no one really was walking around. We wanted to catch up and be left alone to talk. I got a latte, my friend got a mocha and we shared a tiramisu. We were the only ones at the restaurant but don't let this fool you. They always have a crowd, but given the weather and the hour this wasn't peak eating hours. No one was braving the storm, except us lol. My latte was perfect. The right blend of frothiness. The tiramisu was light and so good. We felt like we were on vacation, we felt so welcomed and relaxed.

Yelp
Came here for a company lunch and it was packed for being the middle of the day. They do take reservations, at least for large groups, and staff were nice enough to accommodate a space for our white elephant gift exchange (not easy, when some of the gifts were fairly large). Food-wise, they are good about accommodations for gluten allergies, peanut, etc. I ordered the squid ink pasta and it was rich and filling, with a decent amount of seafood. Their homemade strawberry lemonade was also tasty. I got to try a colleague's pasta dish and it was pretty good, with lots of flavor and just a little bit of a kick. There's a parking lot right across the street (first two hours free) so it was relatively painless to get in and out. I would recommend this restaurant for large groups wanting to enjoy a classy meal!

Yelp
Went with a small group and the staff did it well. Food good . I enjoyed my visit and the commitment to service

Yelp
I had a lovely experience at Café Pro Bono in Palo Alto. I sat outdoors and thought it was neat how they have individual heaters, which made the setting cozy and comfortable. I ordered the lunch risotto, and it was wonderful--delicious with a perfect portion size. I also tried the strawberry lemonade, which had a great flavor but was much too sweet, almost like a dessert. I did not order dessert as with the drink I felt I'd already had dessert. They also offer a gluten-free pasta option, which is a great plus. I would certainly return

Yelp
I love this seasoned Italian cafe in Palo Alto. I had my first meal here at least 15 years ago and the food is still amazing. While the restaurant decor is relevant and nicely designed, I personally like to sit outside along their sidewalk patio. They have created a comfortable bistro feel with sunshades and planter walls to define the space. I love it for business lunches, but frankly if I lived closer, my wife and I would dine here frequently. So food...I really love a ravioli dish that they are famous for called Susan's Downfall. The Gorgonzola cream sauce is out of this world. I don't even like Gorgonzola cheese. 15+ years ago I tried this dish, and it's as good as I remembered. Their wait staff was attentive but not intrusive. They could tell we were negotiating a few deal points and would just walk away, rather than hover over us waiting for us to stop talking. I hate when servers make their customers feel like they have to stop their conversations. These servers are well trained...and Italian, which is always a refreshing for an 'ethnic' restaurant. There are many choices for Italian restaurants mid peninsula, but no one else does Susan's Downfall. You have to try this dish. It's worth the drive and effort.

Yelp
New England Clam Chowder Soup 3 large juicy clam, smooth texture, not a lot of potatoes, not flavorful Crab 3 on top of toasted bread, Dungeness crab, avocado aïoli, radish, cilantro, juicy, cold, refreshing, crunchy Grilled Salmon 3 horseradish crusted, pasta, veggie, tender, juicy, not dry, plain Branzino 3 sea bass, crusted, lemon caper sauce, saffron, carrots, asparagus, medium juicy

Yelp
Great neighborhood place with very accommodating and friendly staff. And the food is relatively affordable and very delicious!

Troy U.

Yelp
I enjoy salmon a bit undercooked and it was absolutely perfect!! The service and ambience was wonderful. Extremely welcoming by the entire staff
google avatar

Kim P.

Yelp
The Bruschetta was amazing! The flavors of the ingredients were an umami explosion. The toasted bread coupled with the more delicate ingredients made for great texture. Bolognese is one of my top go-to dishes at Italian restaurants. I had to have it. This was hearty, but not too overwhelming. The sauce tasted a bit acidic and in my opinion could been cooked down for a few extra minutes. The portion was quite small. The Veal and its accompaniments are super yummy, especially the crispy potatoes and carrots cooked in butter. The veal was a lot thinner than at other restaurants. This was a child's portion. Tiramisu and Panna Cotta were the perfect ending to an overall great meal. Not pictured, but the house red wines paired nicely with the meal. I had the Cab and my guest has the red blend. The restaurant was pretty large, but had a cozy feel. The service was attentive and personable. Overall, it was a nice dining experience; however this would not be a restaurant I could dine at daily $$$. The two entrees I had were split for two, but by the standard portions served in Italy or in the States, I feel it's dainty.

Yelp
Came here for a team lunch and was very impressed with the top quality service and delicious food. The wait staff were incredibly attentive with drinks, taking our orders, and ensuring a good flow of the meal (which seems to be a lost art these days). One of my colleagues and I were accidentally served the wrong dishes, but since the others had their meals, they graciously offered us a complimentary soup so everyone could start eating. They also gave us a tiramisu after our meal, which was absolutely delectable. I got the tortiglione pasta dish, which was vegan and gluten free. It was well cooked (not mushy at all - a buckwheat pasta), and had a variety of vegetables in a light marinara sauce. It was hearty and filled me up.

Yelp
We came to Palo Alto to celebrate special occasion. We waited outside for about 10 minutes while our table was getting ready. While we waited, I went to the small bar to order a beer. The bartender working behind the bar didn't know one of the beers on tap even after looking at the tap which I thought was strange and she couldn't operate the credit card machine for some reason. I walked away without a beer. The rest of the service was very good. This is what was ordered and the comments when we went around the table: Polenta - delicious! Tortellini - great Spaghetti Bolognese - almost excellent Ravioli - very good Squid pasta with clams - just OK Ambiance - we sat outside under an outside structure. It was good to be outside but for some reason it felt 10 degrees hotter than outside the structure. Next time we will try inside. There is plenty of public parking is across the street. Response to owner Akif A.: I corrected my description of your outdoor seating area, it is not A tent, it is a structure attached to the building. My apologies. Regarding your comment about the round polenta plate - If you review the Yelp pictures for your restaurant you will see a picture with a brown round plate that another Yelp member posted a year ago identical to the one in my picture with polenta on it. Finally, I never mentioned that you had two bars. As for my bartender comments, it really happened and I was shocked at the time, I did not make that comment up.

Yelp
Went in for dinner and sat at a table which was adjacent to the bar. Service was a bit on the slow side but it may have been due to a large party in the private room. ( I also noticed it took a while for staff to clear glasses and plates at the bar. Did not appear to be a bar tender which may have remedied this issue. The wait staff rotated staffing the bar area.)Food was really good. I had the mahi mahi special. Manager was very friendly. Will be back

Emily W.

Yelp
The food is good and the service is attentive however every time I eat there, I end up hungry. The veal piccata is good however the portions not that generous and it was $40 all in. I got three thin slices of veal, a few potatoes and vegetables and that was it. I remember the same thing happening the last time I ate there. A sandwich was $40 all in. I went because of a friend wanting to go there but will avoid eating there in the future.

Yelp
We used to love this place, the food, the people. But what I noticed last time is that they don't have a kids menu and when we tried to order something for my toddler from the grown up menu and she couldn't eat it, I made a second request for something else. She could at least have the second one. But for each we were charged $20. No kids dessert either. So gelato served was grown up cost/portion ...such a waste. Also, we were celebrating a birthday and were charged for both the desserts we ordered. Most similar restaurants usually cover a dessert at least for a celebrations. So it ended up being $300 for our party of 4 including my toddler. That was a bit steep even by Bay Area standards and we dine out often ... I'll think twice before dining here again.

Yelp
Dined here for Valentine's Day - lucky had made reservations and they were quite busy. Had to wait for few minutes and chose patio dining with warm heaters. Loved the ambience and service was fairly quick once seated. They were giving rose to all patrons(mostly couples) on the eve. Ordered crab capellini and my wife ordered ravioli (Susan Downfall). Their house red cab was okay. I really liked the fresh crab meat and Prosecco + creamy capellini pasta. Normally I find Italian food bland and top off with some flakes, this time I enjoyed the food as is! The Ravioli was little too creamy I heard but was good. The tiramisu was refreshingly tasty that we wrapped up in a jiffy Hope to come back and check out their regular menu as well. Parking is conveniently across the street in parking garage.

Yelp
As always, dinner at Pro Bono was terrific. Great food, excellent service, lovely atmosphere for talking with table mates.
google avatar

Avivi W.

Yelp
The pastas here were pretty good and they came out very fresh! But the service was not so good, our waitresses kept switching and they took a very long time to bring out our food & the bread was very hard and cold. Whenever we tried to ask for something the waitresses would refuse to make eye contact with us to come and help. The environment was okay, we sat outside because we wanted some fresh air and they brought out the heater for us.

Yelp
I went here for a business lunch. The food was delicious. Service was excellent. Prices were on the high side for what was served. . On the plus side, there is a private dining room for business meetings or private parties. It wasn't appropriate to take pictures, but I will say my short ribs with mushroom risotto was absolutely delicious. Other people were very pleased with their meals. One of our guests was surprised that she was charged for her refill of her soft drink. I don't know if that was actually the case but she did mention it after the meeting.
google avatar

Avni W.

Yelp
The crab cakes were good, but a bit soft. I think it could have been a bit more crispy exterior, it also wasn't that warm. It felt like it had been sitting out. The main courses were good, the lamb was very undercooked though, despite requesting well done. The sea bass was probably the best part. The tiramisu was good, but nothing crazy in my opinion, very strong alcohol/espresso taste. Service was good and fast though.

Yelp
y4.5* Café Pro Bono Italian $$$$ Love this place; great bar and wine selection Super staff; Bartender Christian is a sommelier and quite knowledgeable; Server Andrew is a perfectionist: all staff is friendly and well trained Nice house bread with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and sliced garlic Halibut risotto was delicious Linguini with vongole was good. Great cheesecake; great macchiato Parking on street

Yelp
My dad and I had a wonderful lunch here today! I've been to Cafe Pro Bono a few times, and it's always great, but something about today's meal was extra special. We shared the carpaccio to start (I've had it before and it's consistently delicious). The chicken and vegetable risotto is phenomenal!! I keep thinking about it and will definitely be back to (hopefully) have again if it's still on the specials menu. My dad got the linguine with clams. I tried it and it was soooo good. Our server recommended a GREAT bottle of wine. Service was wonderful and the classic Italian vibe of this restaurant made for a great backdrop to our fun Friday lunch. Will be back!

James S.

Yelp
Had a recent office holiday lunch here. They have a private room which was spacious and quiet. They catered a menu to our taste and the service was wonderful. Everyone enjoyed their food - from pasta, to chicken, to fish. Would definitely go here again, with a group or just with my wife.
google avatar

Martin P.

Yelp
We came here for my wife's birthday dinner since the place has such great reviews. Our experience was not so pleasant especially with the quality of the food. This place is ridiculously overpriced for the food served. The bread served was cold and hard. We got the skirt steak from their special dinner menu which was $39. If you look at my picture of the plate, there was barely any steak and sides on that plate and it looked like a kids size meal. You've got to be kidding me if you're charging $39 for that! So disappointed! The seafood pasta was very mediocre too and was $34. Terrible experience for our special day. We will not be returning.
google avatar

Safak O.

Yelp
Café Pro Bono is always a 5 star. It has been my go-to spot for over a decade. I love the roasted chicken which incredible--tender, juicy and delicious. Restaurant has a great ambiance, very courteous and friendly staff, and consistently top-notch service.
google avatar

Teresa C.

Yelp
I'm very disappointed with the high cost vs. the uneven quality of the food, which wasn't even hot in the middle. The only positive point is the good customer service. However, waiting for more than 30 minutes for our food, with the excuse of a big party, is unacceptable. If you accept customers, you should be capable of serving them promptly with quality, not leaving them alone and providing microwave-like food. Last night, dinner from 7 to 8:30 pm, there were leftovers. Please check with your waiter. I don't want to escalate this, but it seems you're unaware of what occurred last night and are attributing it to a customer's negative review without any evidence. Should you be aware of all aspects as an owner?

Yelp
Decent pastas. Good wine. Good service. And cute interior. What more could you ask for? I enjoyed the Caesar salad and the pasta (the tagliatelle dish which had a white sauce, but spaghetti subbed in because they were out of tagliatelle). The burrata was meh but I enjoyed very much the greens that came with it. The tiramisu was too sweet for me so I only had one bite. Overall, a cute place to stop by if you're in the neighborhood and craving pasta.

Yelp
Favorite go to! Have been going for 20 years now. Can't speak more highly about the staff, service and food.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food and service! Loved the family cozy vibe. Super friendly waiters and creative bartenders. I'm impressed that the manager knew majority of the return customers. Now the food. We had the veal piccata, squid ink pasta, and another fresh meat pasta. Paired with 3 amazing moctails . Ended with tiramisu. All dishes were yummy! No complaints. Will visit again!

Yelp
I think the prices are a little high for the dishes for what it is. Our server provided good customer service. There wine selection isnt that great by the glass. I recommend bringing your own nice bottle of wine. Corkage is on $25 which I think is really good. Nice atmosphere and cozy restaurant. The food was good and came out in a decent amount of time.

Yuko K.

Yelp
I like House speciality Ravioli which is very heavy and I see some people didn't like it. Halibut dish, special for the day was cold and dry. I couldn't swallow second bite because of that. My friend ate the most of it though just to fill the stomach but also says dry and cold. We didn't want to complain to ruin our time and we liked ravioli at least. I didn't appreciate the service very much. The manager (?) who is not a server, pay us attention and ask frequently if need anything but he push us to order more food while both of us said we are not big eaters. He said that the portions are very small so we need to order more. I see other people's dish being big to me. We couldn't even finish food and there was no room for desert. I didn't think this kind of service is great. We don't stay long to eat. I understand more order is better for them but this is not a genuine service. I might go back just for ravioli but this guy wouldn't let me order one dish. I would want to try many dish if they really make portion size small. A lot of time, I like to order multiple appetizers by skipping main dish but they wouldn't let me do that for sure.
google avatar

Marlette C.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a while. I finally decided to treat myself and headed over on Friday afternoon. I ordered the smoked duck pasta from their specials menu. They need to put this on their regular menu. It's so delicious! The meat had a great smokey flavor and was very tender. The pasta was a little overcooked for my liking, but it was fine. The smoked duck and the mushrooms were definitely the stars of this dish. I also ordered the Tiger Woods drink, which is an Arnold Palmer with some cranberry juice. It was refreshing. Service was a little slow, but I don't know if that's just how they do. I did enjoy not being rushed though. Definitely going back for other items. I've got my eye on their squid pasta dish.

Yelp
Always Reliable, good food, excellent service, really nice patio, good spot for kids too.

Yelp
Old school Italian but food and service are great. Nowadays many restaurants are fusion style to attract the younger crowds but this one sticks with tradition.

Yelp
3.5 stars but rounding up for fresh ingredients and great customer service. It was busy but not packed at noon on a Friday. There was ample indoor seating as well as tables available for outdoor dining. We were seated as soon as we arrived, and I tried: -Insalata Del Giorno (Octopus, Gulf Prawns, Radicchio, Romaine Heart, Fennel, Peach, Prosecco Vinaigrette, $32.95, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=1Le2dLgWMuNQFhBfBT91SA&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Delicious, but very pricey for the portion size, especially since there were only two prawns, and one large octopus tentacle. The prawns and octopus were perfectly grilled, and the peach was ripe and sweet. Definitely more radicchio/romaine heart mix could've been added. Although this was a great salad, I wouldn't order it again for this price point. -Rigatoni Con Prosciutto e Funghi (Homemade Pasta, Parma Prosciutto, Forest Mushrooms, Herbs, $26.95, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=-9y3uRs7zavPHPwkCB02yA&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Very good pasta, and I liked the al dente chew of the homemade rigatoni. I loved the mushrooms and sauce, but the prosciutto made the dish a little too salty overall. I wished they either cut the prosciutto into smaller pieces, or swapped it out with guanciale or another smoked meat and just used a little less. Their servers were super accommodating, and checked in on us often. Our dishes came out quickly, and we were in and out in less than an hour. I would come back to try their other pasta dishes (especially the Susan's Downfall)! Parking in this area can be tough during the lunch/dinner rushes, but some street parking spots are available, as are parking lots.

Yelp
I had their New Year's Eve dinner last night. The food was delicious, but was such a small portion that I had to fill up on bread and still left feeling hungry. I ordered the halibut, a decent-sized portion, but it was sitting on a smattering of risotto nero with 2 asparagus spears and 2 baby carrots. How about a reasonable amount of risotto? After dinner coffee came in a tiny cup and I was not offered a top-off. The service was excellent, but I left disappointed.

R M.

Yelp
The food here is incredibly heavy and in my opinion not remotely authentic Italian. E.g. Susan's Downfall, the gorgonzola ravioli, felt almost inedible, drenched in so much cheese that I found it hard to see the ravioli itself. The other stuff we ordered was passable but nothing to write home about. Waiters seemed weirdly passive aggressive.

demetrious m.

Yelp
The food was excellent the service was professional, friendly but not intrusive, I have been going there for several years and have not had a bad meal

Yelp
A gem of a place: elegant, friendly, and delicious. Half-block off the main street loaded with restaurants, and honestly I appreciated that it was calmer and quieter. Extensive wine list plus mixed drinks; they even offer a selection of champagne/sparkling wine in smaller bottles (based on the price, I think they are half bottles 375 mL). There are three main dining areas: A patio outside, with heaters; the bar area inside, with a couple of high tops; and a lovely interior dining room. Service was excellent overall--attentive and friendly--and I appreciated the nice table cloths and change of flatware between courses. We started with venison sausage, which came with a piquant bean/tomato ragu, followed by a nightly special homemade linguine with lobster and shrimp in cream sauce. Both were beautifully presented and quite tasty, though my daughter enjoyed the sausage more than I did. I had a hankering for a nice salad to cleanse my palate (European style) after the pasta, but none of the salad combinations really spoke to me, so the kitchen graciously indulged me with a little "mix-and-match": the resulting salad featuring butter lettuce, warm goat cheese and bosc pear was a perfect end to a lovely meal, especially with fresh-ground black pepper on top. The desserts sound amazing (homemade spumoni?!) and I look forward to trying them on future visits!

Yelp
We had our 25th high school reunion here last Saturday. I love the casual upscale atmosphere with friendly service. I had an Italian beer which I cannot remember the name of & some pilsners along with a few shots of Don Julio. As for the food, the meat balls are tender with a wonderful marinera sauce, the briscetta is perfectly toasted with tomatos & fresh basil, the stuffed mushrooms are tender with a wonderful cheese filling, The sausages on skewers were well seasoned, the shrimp were plain & could have used some cocktail sauce or been sauted in garlic butter, & the chicken skewers in bbq sauce were just alright. We had the entire restaurant to ourselves & usede their stage with plenty of throwbacks playing. The space is ample weather it is a private party or just a regular lunch or dinner. I will definitely be back & try the rest of their menu. So, for a wonderful time with great food & drinks & friendly attentive service, Cafe Pro Bono cannot be beat. Keep up the good work guys..

Yelp
bought off of doordash. ravioli was $19 and they gave me TWO RAVIOLI!!! this is unacceptable. in this economy??? genuinely scamming people.

Yelp
Where do I start with this place? Everything from the warm and caring people, to the delicious fare, served with much care and dedication, is always a treat. This place is more than a local restaurant; it's a friendly face that welcomes you to sit and relax, even if for just a moment in the hustle and bustle of every day life. Akif and his team are truly wonderful, and kind-hearted people. I look forward to seeing them frequently. We also just hosted our annual holiday company event here, and Akif was wonderful to work with.

Yelp
Love this gem!! I didn't find it until a few months after I moved down, given that it's tucked away off Cal Ave, but it's worth finding. It's a classic white table cloth fancy Italian spot, but not over the top on the stuffy vibe. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and a jokester - he threatened to order pizza if we didn't like our dish! He was also great at recommending some sublime dishes. It's a little pricy, but a nice special outing. Polenta - a little more solid thank I expected, but still had a good creamy kick! Tagliatelle with mushrooms - definitely the star of the night. Very creamy, decadent noodles that blended perfectly with the sauce. Panna cotta - amazing!! If you get dessert I highly recommend Vanilla gelato with berry sauce - got pretty soupy pretty fast but was good

Yelp
We hosted our rehearsal dinner here for about 22 people. They set us up in their event room and we had a nice long table for the whole group to sit together at. The room was perfect for our size group and everyone loved all of the food. I appreciated that they had so many menu options at different price points, so I could keep our large group within budget but still have a very nice dinner for all. Thank you Akif and your team for a lovely rehearsal dinner!

Yelp
For a cute little Italian spot, I would definitely recommend going to Cafe Pro Bono. Their handmade pasta is amazing, and the creamy vodka sauce that came with it is to DIE for. Although the rigatoni & vodka sauce is not on the menu, you can order any type of pasta with that sauce as long as you tell the waiter/waitress. This was honestly some of the best pasta I've ever eaten in the Bay Area, and although the price may be a little high, in my opinion it is worth it. If you go, make sure to get whatever pasta is freshly handmade that day, as the selection varies. All in all, I highly suggest going to Cafe Pro Bono if you are in and around the Palo Alto area and want to get some tasty Italian food!

Yelp
Had my 50th birthday here with about 65 guests. Everything was just right. Akif, Karina & entire staff were on spot on and so kind & helpful. Fabulous service, food and hospitality... excellent. They helped my evening along without any issues. Would highly recommend, not just for events, but for lunch or dinner if you're in the area.

Yelp
Very nice and pricy place. Apparently, it's been here for 30+ years. My linguini with clams was very nice. Not large but very nice. Expect to pay about $50 a head for 1.5 courses and not wine for lunch.
