The Best Cafes in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"This modern space on the south side of the Lachine Canal uses a ton of wood accents in its otherwise industrial decor. Lattes, avo toast, and more are available for dine-in or takeout." - Daniel Bromberg

I’ve been coming here for years and I always love it. The coffee is fantastic, but the iced matchas with all the house made syrups (my favorite is the mango) are a showstopper. All the food and pastries are house made and so fresh. My go tos are the madeleines, the seasonal palmiers, the lava cakes and the incredible cream puffs. Their sandwiches made one fresh focaccia are incredible too, the chipotle chicken salad is unlike anything I’ve had before. It’s very much worth your time to come and brunch on the weekends, when they have a creamy custardy French toast. Never had any issue with staff or wait, overall love coming here!

The workers were all so kind, and you can really tell they work with love. We only waited a short time for our food, and they even offered us free cookies for the wait! I personally didn’t feel like the wait was long at all since I’ve experienced much longer waits elsewhere, but their generosity was so appreciated. We ordered the avo toast and the wasabi BLT, along with rose water matchas, and everything was amazing. Cozy vibes, good people, and great food, couldn’t ask for more.

Redwood has been one of my go-to cafés in recent years due to their central Sud Ouest location on Saint Patrick street. Over the past year though, their fresh prepared breakfast and lunch menu has expanded impressively to the point where their sandwiches are some of the freshest in the area. Odessa and Brandon run a tight ship at Redwood and the general vibe and satisfaction of their customers is self-evident. Go check them out if you haven't yet!

Im not usually a avacado toast guy. Usually it seems way overpriced and bland but this was the best abacado toast I have had. The ficacia like bread was fresh and bouncy, the arugula had a nice vinaigrette that cut the avacado well and the egg had the perfect jasmines. The vold brew itself was really good as well with a good chocolate richness. The staff is really friendly and quick. The avacado toast recommendation was exactly what we needed. The atmosphere is nice and light with a lot of design that seems nice in the winter as well. Overall a great place for coffee and breakfast.

Very welcoming stuff and very nice vibe! They also, have gluten free options (sandwiches & dessert). It is a nice little coffee shop by the canal where you can grab coffee and enjoy yourself!

Really liked this place. Bright open Scandi style decor and a wide range of drinks options, from standard teas and coffees to London Fog, pistachio milk, home made chai etc etc. Plus an equally eclectic mix of home made cakes and pastries, sandwiches etc. Friendly staff .

The cozy ambiance and friendly staff make it a favorite spot. The coffee is great, and the barista's latte art is a delightful touch. The atmosphere is clean and modern, with charming vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. Cheers.

Google
This is such a cute spot! I found this café while looking for coffeeshops to go study in, and I fell in love with the vibe! The interior is beautiful and clean, the staff is super friendly. I tried the Mocha Noir and the Dulce de Leche Latte, both were excellent. Very tasty and not too sweet. I was working and kept inhale such a great smell while someone was cooking in their kitchen so I went ahead and asked the barista what they were making and they told me it’s Choux A la Creme so I ordered a fresh one and it was out of this world. Happiness in a little dessert! I’m definitely coming back here.

Yelp
Lovely place to come work remotely and also grab a nice drink and lunch. It's a great location, very easy to find parking and easy to walk over to Atwater afterwards to explore the city some more. Service was great, food was good and the drinks are amazing. I am trying to recreate the strawberry matcha latte I had!

Yelp
What an illuminated and beautiful coffeeshop in Pointe Saint Charles! It has a modern look, with good warmth feeling. The staff is awesome, friendly and helpful. We got delicious avocado toast topped with walnuts, and the creamiest and succulent latte made with oatmeal. It's lovely spot to hang at perfect location near the canal lachine.

Yelp
This place was great when it opened. Now, it's just WeWork with coffee. Laptop vampires hog tables for hours; some of them have no issues conducting full-volume Zoom calls. Will somebody in the Sud-Ouest please open a cafe with no wifi? Thanks.

Yelp
Had a good matcha green latte here. And my date had a pink lemonade I think. Both were tasty and refreshing in the summer
