Cafe Réveille Opens in Berkeley With a Splash of Pink - Eater SF

"As promised last fall, Cafe Réveille’s location along the Fourth Street corridor in Berkeley is now open at 760 Hearst Avenue. Like the chain’s most recent Lower Haight location, this one is done up with touches of pink, and while there’s plenty of single-origin coffee, the emphasis is just as much on food, with sandwiches, grain bowls, and even dinner in the works. Daily hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m, with seating inside and out for 60 total." - Caleb Pershan

Love this spot for a quick lunch during my workday. They have really delicious healthy bowls, with veggies and vegan options. I have tried their crunchy bowl and their tahini squash bowl and both were yummy. My friend has gotten the acai bowl and it was a little over frozen, a small complaint because it came to temp relatively quickly. It's best to come here when the weather is nice, because they don't have a ton of indoor seating. It was raining when we came in today and we were lucky to snag the last table. On a dry day you can enjoy their outdoor tables.

Google
I had some time to kill and needed a place to post up on my laptop. I was delighted to find this place, with both indoor and outdoor seating. I enjoyed the dirty chai and the falafel bowl! I’ve marked this as a place to stop when I’m in the area :)

Google
Perfect place for Sunday brunch! Kids friendly We had a great time and the food was super delicious 💖

Google
First to arrive on a gray Sunday morning and got to marvel at the excellent setting with large open windows between the inside and outside. We sat outside near the healthy lovely succulents and ate really tasty food. The coffee cake was very delicious with subtle flavors and the breakfast burrito was very good , the shakshuka was okay. Very expensive

Google
My friends raved about the breakfast burrito, so that’s what I got for a Sunday brunch. We had a group of 10 and there was one table that could fit us but we did need to borrow chairs to squeeze us in. Indoor and outdoor seating available. They call out your name for drinks once it’s ready, but they’ll bring your food to your table (they’ll give you a number). You order and pay first, then get seated. There’s free parking available. Credit cards only. The burrito is naturally vegetarian but you can pay extra to add meat. I had a matcha latte as well (extra charge for almond or oat milk) which was decent. The burrito is small but dense; I particularly enjoyed the green sauce that came in the side (this is what made the burrito stand out).

Google
Great location and environment, lots of light, patio, high ceilings. Great place to grab a coffee, some food and chill outdoors. The food is good, the usual breakfast trendy food. The service though is what ruins this place. I go there often and unfortunately the last few times all employees have not been friendly, they’ve been rude, don’t look at your face and seem fed up with guests. Last time also when they got the drink wrong, the barista gave an attitude. Such a shame as I like the place.

Google
Very nice cafe for breakfast. It is on a quiet street (occasional train nearby). The staff were very nice. The outdoor seating simple yet very pleasing. We had breakfast on a Sunday morning and we had avery nice morning. The coffee was excellent (quantity small by Starbucks standards). Eggs and potato wedges with fresh sliced avocado was fantastic. Highly recommended for weekend breakfast.

Google
Got the fungus pasta and it was good but the service was bad, they were a bit unfriendly overall. When you bring food out can you not also bring utensils? As a solo diner I hate having to leave my food by itself because the staff didn't provide a fork for the pasta... Just a small thing but it's annoying and would have taken her 2 seconds to grab it for me.

Yelp
Cafe Réveille is such an aesthetically pleasing cafe. They offer an amazing selection of coffee drinks, as well as small food items! Their acai bowl was very filling and the matcha was perfect. Service was fast. My friend and I decided to come here for a cute brunch date and when I tell you this place has so many photo ops... the film photos I took explain it all. Come here photo ready! :)

Yelp
The reason this isn't lace is only getting 1 star, has everything to do with the food. I ordered the basic breakfast. Eggs bacon toast. Eggs, have no flavor. At least they replaced the potatoes for an egg free of charge. Bacon burned. I asked for crispy bacon. I was only able to eat half. Toast. Was too hard after they toasted it and they didn't bring butter with it. My friend ordered the same breakfast but with potatoes. I tasted half of one because it was flavorless. Her sunny side up eggs were extra cooked on the bottom. We ordered hot chocolates. I had to get up and ask for extra chocolate because it tasted like milk with a splash of chocolate. After the "added" chocolate. It was still not chocolate-ee. Enough. $5 a cup of chocolate and it wasn't even worth it. $15 plates of food. Flavorless, over cooked. I do not recommend eating here if you like flavor in your food. The place is nice. White walls, marble tables. Gray black white scheme with some cool looking plants, and music. The staff is somewhat friendly. Smiles, and got me what I need the three times I got up. Bathrooms were clean and not stinky.

Yelp
Came here for Sunday brunch with a friend. There was plenty of room with both indoor and outdoor seating when we arrived around 10:30. It's located in a cute neighborhood with plenty of shops and flowers everywhere which made the environment feel lovely. I ordered the crunchy bowl while my friend got the acai bowl. Both were great! I loved the assortment of ingredients in the crunchy bowl and the crispy rice was a nice touch. The prices were a bit high but other than that it's a solid spot!

Yelp
Online order went well. Great matcha oat latte. Standard breakfast was very nourishing. I ate everything right away since I was hungry. The overall vibe is very cute and it was nice to eat outside and dine with my friends.

Yelp
Prices still in check/not too inflated. Consistent. Clean. Friendly service. Wide array of options. A little loud. A little cold in early am. Parking is easy. The Patio is nice. You won't be disappointed with the brew or grub.

Yelp
The quality of food has gone down in the Berkeley location. Once my favorite local cafe, but now twice in a row I got burnt food. I ordered the Mediterranean bowl a few months back, and the falafels were all burned almost black. I threw it out. I told myself I would not go back, but I completely forgot and ordered the fish sandwich again the entire bun on top was black and the fish was over-fried and blackened. I had to remove the bun and remove the entire skin on the fish, but it was not worth $20. At least at McDonalds, they don't serve burnt food. I should have clued in that my food would be disgusting when the cafe smelled of burned food and garbage. I think they need a new chef and possibly a new manager.

Yelp
Best place! Love the ambiance. Employees give such a good service. Food is so delicious. I will be coming back even though is far from where I live.

Yelp
Went to Cafe Réveille today with my mom for Mother's Day. It was really nice. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The computers were down so they were only accepting cash which we happened to have but it seems like a fluke not something that happens often. We sat outside at a cafe style table. It was sunny and breezy. It's nice because they're is a large parking light right there so parking is easy. The food was simple, fresh and tasty. We both ordered salads and they were quite filling but also light somehow. I would highly recommend the Tahini Falafel Bowl- (falafel, brown rice and quinoa, with root veggies, green tahini, yogurt sauce, chili oil, sesame and herb) it was fresh, tangy and well spiced. The avocado was perfectly ripe. The Crunchy Bowl- (sweet potato, shiitake mushroom, kale, avocado, crunchy broken rice, cilantro, sesame and peanut) was really good. It had Thai flavors and the mushrooms were really deliciously marinated.

Yelp
Amazing delicious food! Service was good too. I guess it's pretty mellow on a Wednesday afternoon. People eating and drinking coffee, working on computers. Staff was nice too. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Cute clean modern cafe by fourth street shops. The outdoor patio is a great place to grab a quick bite and enjoy coffee on a sunny day. We both got the breakfast sandwich, one with the works (avocado, arugula, hot sauce) and one regular. The Kaiser roll goes so well with the egg, cheese and bacon. It's a solid breakfast sandwich. The coffee is decent too.
google avatar

Yelp
Great salads and breakfast items. Nice patio to sit and drink coffee. Close to other shops. Staff is nice.

Yelp
AMAZING. I love this place whatever I've gotten here has always been good. And it also makes me feel good. It's clean and delicious. Not to mention the vibe. It's so chill and relaxing and the staff is super chill too

Yelp
I love this spot. I suggested a friend from out of town go when she needed brekkie the other day. We took our holiday photos at this location and frequent the one in lower Haight often, too. My food took a bit over 15 minutes so I had to scarf it down before heading to my nail appointment next door. That's fine. I grabbed a to-go box and started talking to my neighbor as a took a few more bites from my to-go box before leaving. I bit a rock. A black one the size of a toddler tooth. My mouth still hurts. The only reason I didn't freak out is because my neighbor said she's bitten rocks in her food there, too. She suggested it might be a hard lentil, then when I showed her she was like, maybe it's from not inspecting lentils well enough (I don't know if my dish had lentils??) I put it on my plate before bussing it and leaving and it clanked like a rock. My tooth still hurts from biting down on it. I should've taken a pic of it but ran out. This bowl was PHENOMENAL IN FLAVOR. So many wonderful things combined and I really enjoyed it until this point. I was too shaken to eat the more than half of it that I took to go, unfortunately, so it was a waste of money. With a 20% tip, my 12 oz latte and bowl with chicken added was over $30. Normally I don't mind because their ingredients are fresh and everything is so delicious! Ever bite down on a big rock in your food and still think a place is top notch? I feel conflicted. My mouth hurts. But I'll probably go again once I learn my teeth are okay at the next dental visit I have coming up. It's gorgeous inside. The coffee is GREAT. The pastries are good, too. Just weird to have a rock in my food and a neighbor who says she's gotten rocks in her food, too. Says a lot that she's still going as well.

Yelp
I want to give Cafe Reveille 4 stars but I can't get over their morning staff..THEY SUCK! I always feel like I am inconveniencing them by placing an order. I am always friendly and greet them with a hello....Never a smile. Never a hello. Never a how have you been (because I go there pretty regularly). Its always depressed dead-eyed stares. A couple weeks ago I needed some milk for my coffee and one of the staff was leaning on the other side of the counter (the staff side) by milk. I said excuse me and said I just wanted to get some milk. She literally looked at me with an attitude, grabbed the milk and pretty much slammed it on the counter. WOW! Whats with the attitude and its not as though she was busy or making coffee and I could have even got the milk myself. This week I ordered a pastry and coffee and sat down. I got back up and asked the same girl from the milk slamming episode, for some water and she rolled her eyes and poured it into a big plastic cup, meanwhile everyone seated there had glasses and there were plenty of clean glasses above the coffee machine. The plastic cups just happened to be near her so it was too much for her to walk over 4 steps and grab a glass. Seriously wont be going back! Ditch the attitude and if you're not happy to work there, go find another job where you will be! Or maybe customer service isn't for you! The food: Decent breakfast sandwich, avocado toast and the pastries are ok. The coffee: Typical overpriced mediocre coffee. They also have this weird policy of NEVER bringing your coffee to you! So if you order coffee and a breakfast sandwich lets say, you sit down and get settled, they call you to the bar for your drink. When your breakfast sandwich is ready they bring it over to your table. WHY? If a customer is obviously staying and ordered it to stay, why not bring them everything? Space is limited inside and tables are often occupied by people working on their laptops (which they should set a limit for) and I often have to leave my coat just to get my coffee and secure an inside seat. Idk...Im pretty sick of this place and the cold, sterile, uninviting and rude atmosphere.

Yelp
Came in for Sunday brunch around 10am and there was plenty of seating inside and outside. I know there are other locations, but this one has a cozy and modern feel to it. Loved the indoor and outdoor seating areas, lots of space outside, and located by the big parking lot. Had their breakfast sandwich, acai bowl and latte, all of which were delicious and filling. Bottom line: Modern and cozy spot for brunch/lunch. Can get busy during peak hours but comfortable when not busy.

Yelp
Food was delicious and fresh! The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean and beautiful. Would definitely come again! :)

Yelp
First time going to this little cafe, yes it's a little pricey with the food items but honestly their latte prices are not bad at all. I accidentally ordered the Ice coffee thinking it was the oatmilk latte and the barista corrected it immediately and I was honestly super grateful for that. I also ordered the açaí smoothie bowl. The açaí smoothie bowl was very filling and I felt very good after. The coffee shop is pretty chill as well, a lot of the people that come here a very nice and honestly the staff was super helpful in helping me choose a food item and giving me portion sizes on each item.
google avatar

Elaine C.

Yelp
If you're looking for an aesthetic cafe with healthy menu items, definitely try out Cafe Reveille! I absolutely love their setup, and the greenery makes it very pleasing to the eye. I originally intended to come here to study, but there's more of a busy, almost restaurant-like vibe, especially during peak hours (Sunday 1 pm for brunch). The breakfast bowl is very nutrient-dense, and I really enjoyed the eggs and generous portion of avocado complemented by the tahini sauce. The espresso drinks were average, but partly because they cooled down very quickly due to the wind from sitting outside. Overall, I like the food, even though it's a bit pricey for what you get. I'm excited to try other items on the menu, especially their focaccia sandwiches.

Yelp
The most important thing to know about this place is that, although the address is on Hearst, it is not on Hearst. It is on Fifth, very close to Hearst. I have no idea why the address is 760 Hearst. I walked down Hearst and couldn't find it. Finally I went down Fifth a little bit, and there it was. Weird! It looks like a little to-go coffee place, which it is, but also a lunch place with an outdoor patio. Indoor seating looked squished together and uncomfortable, but there were a couple people with laptops and such. Most people went outside if they got a meal. Just metal tables and chairs, no heaters. Reasonably comfortable for metal. Can be a bit chilly when there is wind. The food was really good. I got the crunchy bowl, which I thought was going to be a rice bowl, but it was more of a salad with some crunchy rice. I liked it except for the crunchy rice. Why would I want to eat overcooked rice that makes me think I'll break a tooth? I just don't understand. But other than that, I really liked the bowl a lot -- and the ingredients were really fresh. It could have used a little roll or piece of bread though. I was still hungry and the thing cost $15! My lunch mate got the fish sandwich and was at first worried that it was over dressed, but then really liked it and said it was very good. Overall, I thought this place was good, and healthy (though they also sell pastries). It was mildly strange, like a coffee shop decides to have fancy lunch on a metal table. But I would come back and would recommend.

Yelp
Such a great little place for people to get together with other friends or families before or after they shop. This is a gem worth protecting and visiting on 4th Street. I could see how some people are turned off by the limited menu, but their limited menu is curated nicely to have a variety of items for everyone. All the staff was so attentive and nice. Highly recommend their macchiato!
google avatar

Chia Min H.

Yelp
the coffee here is really good and the shakshuka was decent. it's a really great place to study with great lighting and good vibes. the service is decent but nothing crazy, everyone was very polite.
google avatar

Christy T.

Yelp
Definitely one of the more popular spots on 4th street! The staff is friendly and the food is really fresh; everything is a little on the more expensive side but normal for the area! There was a decent sized line on a Thursday lunch break but it went by pretty quick and the food came out fast! I got an iced latte with a crunchy bowl which has shiitake mushrooms, avocado and nuts and it was delicious. All in all definitely a good brunch/lunch place when you're doing some shopping downtown!

Tarek S.

Yelp
The filipino lady that works here has the worst attitude they said they would call us when order was ready they made all the drinks and kept them sitting on the counter with out calling us we asked her are these ours she said did you order 5 drinks with the worst customer service I will never come back this place is dirty
google avatar

Yelp
I was very pleasantly surprised by this meal at a coffee shop! I got the falafel bowl with halloumi cheese (yum!!)

Yelp
Their iced matcha was the best I've ever had. That along with the nice outdoor seating made my experience here very nice!

Yelp
i always go there for a girls day to meet and chat, because of how safe and fun being there is. the location is just perfect with lots of free parking right in front and as a tea person i can never complain! perfect breakfast menu for everyone and no long wait at all.

Yelp
Had a good experience with cafe reveille in SF, so I went to Berkeley one as I was around on Friday morning. Ordered cappuccino and this is what I got. I was in a rush, so i got to try the coffee after I left the place and was shocked with the taste. No trace of foam at all when I opened the cup. (Photo added) Did the barista even use the steamer? Seriously, it tasted like a dunkin coffee (no offense but I get dunkin coffee for a reason. It's CHEAP!) Cafe reveille. Y'all gotta do better job in interviewing baristas or even training them. This is super disappointing.
google avatar

Yelp
Anytime I find myself in Berkeley, I always try to visit Cafe Reveille, and with good reason. This cafe is super cozy, and has beautiful aesthetics. Their Acai bowl is one of the best I have ever tasted and it's well worth the $12. The Acai tastes rich and their granola is house made. The bowl also includes kiwi, berries, banana, cacao nibs and coconut. It's a great vegan and gluten free option! I also ordered the homestyle breakfast with potatoes, toast and avocado which was very good. My friend ordered the salmon and poached egg plate which I believe they no longer have on their menu. The matcha latte was also extremely tasty, it was perfectly sweetened and wasn't overbearingly hot, which I have gotten a lot from other cafe's. I paired the latte with a chocolate croissant that I asked to heat up, which was a great pairing. I have visited cafe reveille on four separate occasions and have always enjoyed my food and experience. The staff is very nice and have always been very helpful anytime I needed it. I recommend stopping by this location if you ever get the chance!

Yelp
Omg, the burger is super good and the arugula salad is bomb!!! If you are looking for a great lunch/dinner, please check this place out.

Yelp
Stopped by and had an outside seat on a Sunday afternoon. Got the kale salad which was tasty, and an iced coffee. All good quality, fast service, and an easy going vibe.

Yelp
Wow! Nice little place by fitness studios. Great food, perfect portion. Good quality items. The attitude in service on the other hand is horrible! Me and my GF , got there at a moment when there was no one in line. The lady did not acknowledge, say good morning or anything. We just felt kind of pressed to order our food right away and she seemed annoyed. We didn't what we ordering exactly because it was mainly in French. Got our number sat down, the waiter came with our food and no utensils. Told us where to get them, with pious attitude. Got utensils, and I asked if they had hot sauce. He said yes, he grabbed some behind his back and without any eye contact out them on the counter. I was confused by the off putting/non direct/no courtesy behavior, that I asked if the was for me. He smuggly looked at me, with the side of his eye and said yes. While his back was turned. Wow! Do people come in here to be treated like they are second class citizens. I didn't refute with these people. I kept my manners. But me and GF felt unwelcome. Good thing there is Yelp to vent off into this. It's hard reading people as it is. Jeez! From what I hear this is the common way to act around here though. I thought it would be better going to one of this unique joints to support local business.

Bob W.

Yelp
The salads are decent, but it's hard to go wrong with fresh produce in the Bay Area. The coffee is atrocious. I've had better iced coffee at Dunkin' Donuts. It tasted like burnt hot coffee that had been poured over ice--tangy, tart, and very hard on the stomach. The pricing for this recycled motor oil is surreal when you consider there are people living in tents just a couple blocks away.

Nancy S.

Yelp
I've been here twice and I have mixed feelings about this place. I had the breakfast bowl which was wonderful. The odd thing is after fifth 15 minutes of waiting for it. They don't bring a fork or any utensils with your order. You have to get up and get it yourself. Additionally, I think they coffee is just OK. Cafe latte better than matcha.

Iram M.

Yelp
A friend and I stopped here for brunch and we were so disappointed by the food and coffee. We ordered a shakshuka, a breakfast sandwich, and a hot vanilla latte. The shakshuka was incredibly acidic. The base tasted like cold tomato sauce out of a jar. The sandwich was significantly better, but they charge extra if you want avocado and arugula. Finally, the vanilla latte was so mediocre. The espresso in it tasted off, and you could barely taste any of the vanilla syrup. It was also more watery than a standard latte should be. The cafe itself is aesthetic, with modern decor, ample sunlight, and beautiful plants. Unfortunately, I will always value quality tasting food and coffee more and Cafe Réveille didn't deliver in that department.

Yelp
best cafe in berkeley!! amazing service love their outdoor space and the food is actually unbelievably delicious -- i love that it's basically a full restaurant as well as a coffee shop

A. E.

Yelp
I ordered in-person and spent $100 on food to-go and they got 50% of my order wrong. Since when are BBAA sandwich's not on focaccia ?? I even asked about the bread, and the young woman said yes and asked me if I wanted them toasted...the f*ck? I also ordered a classic burger, only bun and patty, nothing else and got it home and it has extra cheese and my kid won't eat that, WTF you guys? When I called there is no way to actually get through to the establishment, it just has some garbage voice recording You guys suck.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast and coffee drinks! We stopped in for breakfast while on a quick trip to SF and were really impressed by the quality of food from this cute little corner cafe. The coffee drinks were great- I ordered an oat milk latte and it really hit the spot! I ordered the Breakfast sandwich - it came piping hot on a delicious sesame roll with a fresh friend egg and sausage patty. It really hit the spot! My fiancé ordered the Shakshuka, which was also really warming, rich and delicious especially on a chilly morning. The only downside- they do not offer Gluten Free bread, which was a bit of a surprise to me. Since he is GF, this was one of the only options on the menu that he could eat, and not having ant bread to accompany it was a bit disappointing. Shakshuka really shines with a nice piece of bread to soak up the rich tomato broth. Overall, very impressed and would go back! Please get GF bread!

Yelp
Will return. Quality was great. Quantity was fine. Bought for me. I had no heard of Cafe Reveille. Definitely give them a try. Healthy options. Felt great after

Tenzin P.

Yelp
One of my fav and go-to matcha spots! They're always consistent with their drinks and their matcha is not too sweet or heavy. The workers here are also nice, friendly and welcoming!
google avatar

Yelp
The ONLY reason this place has business is because it is the only spot on this block. Ordered a burger here. The menu said "two pasteurized patties". See photo... Yes there were two patties but if they are both half the size of the bun how can you advertise it that way? What a JOKE. $15 f*cking dollars. This is cheating your customers and misleading them... You should be ashamed. I hope someone worthwhile opens nearby and rightfully displaces them. Not only is it a rip-off --- the music is so loud, and of poor taste. Instead of a cafe it feels like a daytime club in Los Angeles where hitting cocaine starts at 10am. The bathroom was also disgusting and uncared for. Spend your money elsewhere.
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
The past couple of times I've been here have been good. I've tried their breakfast sandwich and also their açaí bowl which are both good in my book. Granted this place is a little pricey and their portions can be a bit small.
google avatar

Yelp
It is a cute little shop with seating, which is nice on a sunny day. However, the person assisting me wasn't very helpful. I'd never been here before so I didn't know what to order. I ended up getting a cold brew and he asked if I wanted room, I said yes, but before I had a chance to ask for the types of milk, he was already pouring some in my drink, waiting for me to say when. Overall, a cute place to stop for coffee once in awhile.
google avatar

Carly M.

Yelp
I went to this cafe with my friend who is Thai. When we ordered the barista Pearl was awfully cold. At one point during our coffee date, we then proceeded to hear Pearl and Amy talking about how embarrassing my friends name was. Specifically the conversation went "why would someone name their child ___. It might be cute when they are children but not as an adult." This might seem like a small conversation, however, it hit a soft spot with my friend. She grew up in a predominantly Caucasian school where she was made to feel insecure about her name and skin color. To be in a melting pot of culture in the east bay and to hear this was disappointing. I honestly can't believe this happened. It's the 21st century and a discriminatory conversation like this should not be taking place. You would think they would have known we could hear them. Either way it's unprofessional and I will not be returning to a business supporting discrimination.

Yelp
This location is the complete opposite of other ones I've been to. I usually just order their Açaí Bowl. Today, I had more than 1 moldy blueberry in my order. Staff really needs to go thoroughly inspect ingredients before serving. As a pregnant woman, this is completely hazardous.
google avatar

Bernie L.

Yelp
Since Covid hit, it's been harder to find a mid-afternoon cup of coffee. My favorite place nearby closed their doors completely, and my other go-to closes at 3 PM. So decided to give this spot a try. Blech. I really don't like the coffee they use for their espresso drinks. YMMV.
google avatar

Danielle O.

Yelp
Exceptionally kind service. Like extraordinary service. I watched the staff interact with all kinds of people. Food and coffee were of equal caliber. Can't wait to come back.

Jinan T.

Yelp
the cutest little cafe! the service was great and our drinks came out quickly. the space is cozy and bright, thanks to the large, beautiful windows! there are plenty of seats, both indoors and outdoors. we came around 9 am and found a great spot, and by 10 am the indoor space was filled up. not the best place to get work done as it gets quite noisy. my almond-milk cappuccino was delicious, with beautiful latte art! the mocha was smooth and creamy, it wasn't too sweet, and had no burnt/bitter taste. absolutely planning to come back for brunch, all the options looked delish!

Yelp
I finally visited Cafe Réveille after reading some reviews and wondering if it was worth it. Let me preface this by saying that I love 4th street and have enjoyed visiting the shops and cafes whenever I am in the neighborhood. I went to Réveille for an iced matcha latte (it's in vogue now, haha). I arrived a little after 11 and easily found a table inside, as it was too windy to sit outside. By lunch time the cafe was super busy. The wifi worked perfectly and I was able to get some work done while I sipped on my latte. The latte was not the best I've had, but it wasn't bad either. I like the ambience of the cafe, but there is a lot of circulation, so be prepared for noise. I wanted to order a bite to eat, but unfortunately the kitchen closed at 3.

Yelp
5* I recently discovered that this cafe has food as well as I always assumed for some reason it was only coffee and pastries. Thankful for that as it is now one of my favorite brunch spots in Berkeley! Fourth street is a really great place to hang out on, specially on the weekends and I usually like to go there around noon get some plants, check out CB2 etc. One of the weekends I was there I was looking to see if there was a quick lunch spot and found this cafe. Thanks Yelp :) Its located close to Project juice ahead of Lululemon and next to the local outdoor market corridor. There is live music on the weekends next to the Saje store so the vibe is great! They have outdoor dining and the staff is absolutely amazing, so polite friendly and kind. I specially appreciate that they take the time to know your name and that makes me glad I am a regular here now.. adds to the experience of eating there for sure! 10/10. They have a line outside to order (enforcing social distancing) and then let you know once its ready at the pick up area. The seating is great with lots of sunshine, ability to distance and enjoy your meal. The menu is limited but fantastic. I have tried the breakfast burrito($11) 10/10, which is extremely flavorful, fresh and delicious. They serve it with a sauce which is just divine!! The other things I love there are the breakfast bowl ($13.50) 12/10, which is the most delicious healthy bowl I may have ever had.. ever. The avocado and egg on top will make you glad you tried it for sure and has become my top pick here! If you are hungry for bread + a treat, please try the grilled chicken sandwich on focaccia($14) 10/10 which is also so so delicious and the portion size is also very good. The tahini and mixed green salad on the side hits the spot for sure. Thats my go to if I biked or walked alot before eating :) You will thank me for the leftover too incase you could not finish. The coffee here is on the stronger side for me so I usually dont get it and opt for the hibiscus ice tea ( mild and not sweet) or just a sparkling water. Note: Last order is 3pm for food so make sure you get there in time if you plan to eat. Drinks are available after 3pm until closing time. Highly recommend this place so must check it out if you are in the area :)
