Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican

Order on the app, the order on the receipt was right, but the order in the bag was wrong. So I went back to get my order corrected. I thought I was good, because I saw the manager check the receipt while making my order. Smh my order is still wrong. I ordered flour with cheese, but they gave me dry and hard flour with no cheese and I asked for shredded cheese and still no cheese. OMG the rice was hard. I will just stick to the Café Rio on Craig, because this one sucks.

I’ve been a fan of Cafe Rio for a while, but I’ve recently been frustrated with their consistent issues regarding opening times. It seems like they never open on time, which has really interfered with my work schedule. On several occasions, I’ve arrived only to find the doors still locked, and it’s disappointing when you’re trying to grab a quick meal. Additionally, even when they do open, I’ve noticed that the food prep isn’t always ready for orders. This results in longer wait times, which is frustrating when you’re on a tight schedule. I hope they can address these timing issues so that customers can enjoy their meals without the added stress.

No one does Americanized Mexican food better than Cafe Rio! I’ve been a fan of Cafe Rio for years and after all this time they don’t get old and never disappoint. This location is no exception. The food and service are on point and their Horchata is top notch! If you haven’t tried Cafe Rio, you’re missing out big time!!!

As usual, I stopped by for my favorite salad and was amazed by its flavor and quality. Thanks to my friend Adrian, who always surprises me with his unique way of preparing my favorite salad. Without a doubt, one of my favorite Mexican food places in the city. I thank everyone for their great work, especially my friend Adrian. Thank you, Adrian.👍🏻

First time here and I can promise i’ll be eating here twice a week. This place is absolutely delicious they have a great menu selection and the place smells good and looks clean. Priced just right.

Enjoyed a delicious marinated pork salad ! I am very fond of their cilantro dressing. Didn't love the new pricing for extra dressing. Key lime pie was super tasty. I would have loved it more if there was whipped cream or some kinda whipped topping on it.

Nice location overall. Food was great (forgot to take a photo of food lol.) and it wasn’t to busy. Staff all seemed to be working but service was still pretty slow so I could see people getting frustrated. Maybe understaffed? Not sure. Bathrooms located right to the left when you walk in about half way back.

This is 3rd Cafe Rio in Vegas we tried, while store 145 was above average and good, the restaurant on 2600 W Sahara Ave is absolutely NO GO, STAFF IS RUDE & they overcharged us for what we didn’t even ordered, don’t even come here.

Horrible location 0/10 recommend. Whoever owns this location really needs to do a better job. Always out of multiple food options especially steak. With 6 plus employees working at all time there should be no need to not have the food you offer especially at 4:45 pm on a Friday. Not like it 5 minutes before closing. Multiple employees on break and nothing being done. Horrible management!

I walked in thinking Cafe Rio is a Brazilian restaurant, but I was wrong. It's a Mexican grill joint. The place looks new and clean with an open dining area. To order, you have to get in line... similar to how Chipotle is set up. Once it's your turn at the counter, you tell the preparer what you want. They even have bowls like Chipotle that you customize from meat choices to sides and sauce. I ordered the salad with shredded chicken on a flour tortilla. I get a scoop of guac, asked for extra pico de gallo, green salsa, cilantro, sprinkled thin tortilla strips, and Mexican cheese. It comes with a side plastic container of house dressing. Once I sat down, I mixed everything up and took a bite. It was good. I should have gotten the habanero salsa because I prefer a lot more kick to the flavor. They do have many hot salsa bottle options. In general, I would come back to try their sweet pork barbacoa instead of the shredded chicken.

Visited last night at 9pm on a Thursday evening and I was able to dine in when the sign posted open until 9pm. But when I asked the employee if I can still order food, he said the sign is not updated. They actually close at 10pm. Felt lucky cause I haven't ate at this place in a very long time. There was no line and probably 4 people dining in at that time, and several people taking out, maybe because it was already late in the evening and most people have already ate dinner. I ordered Double Enchiladas with Carne Asada, and Chicken Tortilla Soup. They had already run out of mild salsa, so I had to request very little hot sauce and extra grated cheese. The wait time was really fast, considering the enchiladas came out hot and fresh tasting. Devoured both enchiladas down to the last bite. The chicken tortilla soup was nice and warm on a cool evening. What made my meal even more delicious is that cilantro is available on the side. They do have restrooms but I didn't use them. The Drink Bar was well stocked with all flavors of soda and plenty of utensils available. Tables were nice and clean. Customer service is polite, friendly and they keep the dining area fairly clean.

Live or the day this turns into something else. 5 -6 employees. Several delivery drivers waiting. One person being beconed in Spanish over and over for help just on her phone. If spending 20 mins to buy a soup wasn't bad enough. We are all risking our lives to eat. For some reason there is a guy out front who has aquired a resturant mixing bucket and sani bucket is draining his gas tank into them? Idk why you wouldn't pull away from the front on the building with this giant fire hazzard. Who gave you the restirant supplies? Is cafe rio just going to wash those? I guess its better then it going on the ground? The smell of gas is beyond over whming at this point. 20 mins for a bowl of soup. Several employees not really functioning. All very nice this visit , clean and decorated for halloween. Some how some way this pocation through and through just lacks. Can this place close already!! Nothing is every in stock and ready

On our most recent visit, the service was slow and spotty at best, and the food was served cold. Even though we stood there and watched them put it through the heater thing, by the time we got it to the table in the restaurant, everything was room temperature. We just took it home so we can heat it up and eat it. The food was just okay; nothing to rave about. The drink choices beyond sodas was nice to have. We both got enchiladas, which were rather small. The Hatch green chili sauce was good. A few of the enchiladas had hardly any meat at all inside. We were hoping for better. Just ok

If you walk into this place on a Friday or Saturday or Sunday, don't be expecting to get any queso or corn it is never ready I come here in the regular and the food is fantastic but it seems like they having supply problems because there's never any queso someone probably should do something about that

I lost a bet and had to buy lunch. The winner picked Cafe Rio. I used to really like it here, I thought it was the best location, now it's just ok. I probably wouldn't choose this on my own. I don't hate it, it's just ok. I think that $29 for lunch for 2 is a little pricey. A salad and a tostada and one drink. I will admit that the pollo asada on my tostada was pretty tasty. The service seems to have lost some of its umph honestly. I remember when this location first opened and they seemed to hire ultra friendly people-the newer employees seem a little less excited to work there. The soda machine was broken so that was a bummer but my friend was happy with the lemonade (the mint one, I can't remember what it's called but everyone seems to like it. Overall it was acceptable just too pricey for what you get. I'm sure I'll be back with my coworkers who really like it.

Came here at 9:05pm and they didn't have any of there ingredients out and none of the meat was cooked. The woman in the front was saying sorry but the woman in the back was smiling . Unprofessional closing early on a Friday night. unbelievable

This location is still the most efficient Cafe Rio I've been to and I can't remember a time where they messed up my order, unlike most of the other ones in town. I'm just sad they took away their daily weekday specials during covid, as well as some of their drinks, including their fresh brewed iced teas. All they have now are sodas or mint limeade. At least the mint limeade is good though! This place gets really busy during lunch rush because it's so convenient to so many nearby offices, hospitals and other businesses. Because of this it really gets trashed sometimes. They probably need to have a single employee, during the lunch hours, only cleaning the dining room and checking the trash because sometimes the trash doesn't get taken out for a while and overflows!

I had my birthday party catered by Cafe Rio on Sahara this weekend. I wanted to thank them for great service when we picked up the food, to how delicious all of it was ( I had the 2 taco catering bundle)! So many complements on how good everything tasted! I will definitely use this service again from this location!

I have no complaints about this location but more a request to corporate. The staff are so slammed with online orders they can barely help the people in line. I thought there was a person and station designated for online orders but it doesnt seem to be that way my last two visits. It looks like you need more staff to keep up with the demand. Multiple let the line due to the amount of online orders waiting to be completed ahead of them. Also, dont eat the pollo asada

Went there for the first time in about 2 weeks couldn't believe my eyes the trash was overflowing the food was old we walked in and walked out I don't know if they have a manager there but if he was there today he should have been fired. All food was old looking. Tables all dirty. Hopefully I can upload a photo of the trash. Terrible. People just standing around. Sky Canyon Las Vegas

Disgusting, my friend got a press on fingernail in his food. They shouldn't allow their employees to have nails like that, makes me wonder if they even used gloves too.

First of all, I ordered on the Cafe Rio mobile, only because you advertise free delivery. They still charged us for delivery and your app couldn't compute my address. It sent my food to a different location. Second of all, I ordered two salads nothing special, both the same way and three extra dressings. When my food arrived, no silverware, no napkins, no dressings I was charged for!! on the salad itself there was no guacamole, no limes no cheese on top of the salad or no cheese on the tortilla (which it comes with!!!) I ordered it while at work and I have no forks here and now I don't have enough dressing, on top of that I can't even eat it because the gas station next-door doesn't sell forks now I have to wait until I get off of work which by then I won't even want it!!! Thanks!

We had a BOGO coupon and decided to give it a try again after moving on to other places years ago. We really enjoyed it, and would say that even without the coupon. Online ordering was very good, able to customize your selections and pick your time. Food was on a rack waiting for us and one of the staff came out to do the handoff. Both the sweet barbacoa pork burrito and bean and rice burrito were very good, as was the chips and salsa. Will be going back.

The people don't mean to be bad it just really seems as though management/training is lacking. I've never been to a Cafe Rio in my life and was hoping for the best. Choose this? Choose that? Ok self explanatory but when the person heating up a tortilla just says "ok" when I order a quesadilla and leaves me high and dry what then? When I told the guy it was my first and asked him what's next he said, "oh, he'll take care of you" and the guy want even loud enough, just mumbling. Overall very disappointing. Paid $15 for a deconstructed quesadilla. How about greeting people when they walk in, or at the very least approach the guest if they look lost. Talk. Interact. Maybe it's their first job in the service industry idk but something should be done.

I had a couple doordashers cancel on me and my food sat there for almost an hour. they were already remaking my order by the time I had called to ask them to make me a new one, no extra charge. the customer service 10/10

My first time coming to a Cafe Rio after hearing how great the food is, however, didnt have such a pleasant experience. 1st - The food line looked messy and empty. The food looked like it was sitting for a while and did not look fresh at all. The guac was dark brown, green chilli looked like jelly and the cheese looked dried. 2nd- Associates not wearing aprons when serving guest and not washing hands before putting on gloves and after using the register. 3rd- the dining area looked dirty with dirty floors (ex trash on floor and dirty tables) 4th- Soda machine was out of several sodas. I wouldn't mind coming back to a Cafe Rio, however, not coming back to this location.

Not sure what happened to this location but before Covid it was bustling right along and had great service. Now it moves slow and has quite a few hiccups. We came in and no one else was in line but they moved very slow to get just a few orders ready. They gave me my order and drink cup and I found that the soda machine was out and giving air and soda water. Then to find out the cup they gave me had a leak in the bottom of it which leaked out while I ate my food. There was no one taking care of the lobby area and the trash cans were overflowing and the bathroom needed to be cleaned. By the time we ate several other people stacked up in line and it was still moving slow.

this place is not what it used to be. Quality of food is poor, servers were not competent, the salad I ordered was half of the product it used to be, they didn't give me my receipt. I will never return to eat here again. You really have to be bad and cheat me to make me feel this way. It has been much better at the Cafe Rio by the Plams casino. I rather drive a few more miles. The cashier here is so rude her name is Mariel.

I don't usually pick up from this location and after today i definitely won't be coming back, there are definitely other locations that are more attentive when it comes to customers. I placed a preorder thru the app at 12 pm for 4 pm pick up. When i arrived there were 3 girls at the front and not one of them even looked in my direction. I had to stand at the pick up counter for a couple minutes before they finally acknowledged me and asked if i needed something. I told them i had a pickup at 4 pm for my name and the girl i was speaking with just turned her back, printed out a receipt and walked away. It was now 4:05 and they were just starting my order. Mind you the shop was completely and i mean completely empty, there should be no reason as to why it wasn't ready or at least started. Only one girl was helping make the order while the other two just stood around talking with each other. I am now still here 15 minutes later waiting for my order while they are now assisting the walk ins. I made the preorder for the purchase of not having time to wait and still had to wait. I'm extremely upset by this interaction and i hope to hear from someone regarding my experience. thank you.

No one greeted my friends and I when we walked in the door. The restaurant was empty when we arrived. We were ignored for several minutes and another two groups joined us in line before anyone came up to help us. It took the 3 of us about 10 minutes to get our food made. They charged my friends card 3 times for the food. And all the employees hardly spoke to anyone.

First time at Cafe Rio. My friend talks about it all the time and i never understood the hype. After eating some of his food here and there and then ordering my own today i still dont get the hype. If there was no other Mexican or Tex Mex food around or this was middle America i could understand why people go here. But, theres so many better places with better flavors in the area. The nachos had all the right toppings but for some reason were not very good. The sweet chile pork was too sweet. Itd go better on a pizza or in enchiladas because it has that sweetness but none of the bite of barbacoa. I tried the pork because its suppose to be amazing but its too dripping wet and sweet. The rest of the nachos were okay but the queso was also a bit too sweet and it had this odd vegetable flavor to it. Theres this Garden Ranch style dressing and this made me think of that. It had too many flavors going on and none of them were right. They were $10.49 and $11.37 after tax. Service was quick and friendly at 1100am and everything was stocked. They should have two portion sizes for the nachos option because these were pretty large. Its meh for what it is, but i wouldn't go back.

Today's lunch was a HORRID experience; I will not go back to this location. First off, I ordered online because I only get a half hour for lunch and I wanted to be in and out quick. That's usually why we order online right? I ordered at 10:43am, had a confirmation my order was in at 10:46am, ready at 11:00am. Yeah right. I couldn't get to Cafe Rio until 11:15am. When I got there, the girl in front couldn't find an order for me. She came back and said they're working on it now. Ok, no problem. A little background so you understand my real frustration here. When I got there, there was only three people in line ordering food with two workers on the line and the cashier as back up. Six people walked in after me and got in the line to order. ALL six people who came in after me had their food and were eating, and STILL I did not have my order. At that point, a guy from the back comes up and grabs four tickets from the counter and returns to the back. He starts making orders and bringing them to the take out area. He only does the beginning of the order (the meat part), someone else has to do the rest but there is no one there to do it. So it sits there. The girl in front looks at me and says, it'll be about 5-more minutes. I walk to the counter and tell her to cancel my order and give me a refund. She disappears to the back. She returns and another woman comes out and asks how she can help me. I tell her cancel my order and give me a refund, I can't wait any longer. She turns and looks at the counter where part of my order sits and tells me, "it's ready, it just needs lettuce". I told her what time I ordered and now I'm late for work. She tells me they're extremely busy (ah, not when I got there you weren't) and they are short staffed; she turns around and walks away. When she comes back, she puts lettuce and tomato on my plate, puts the lid on it and walks away again. She comes back with someone else's to-go order (missing items) and walks away again. To conclude, she finally finishes my order and hands me the bag, I tell her I'm missing the dressing, she puts two in the bag and walks off. No apologies, no "can I offer you a complimentary soda?" nothing. I got back to work at noon. (I'm five minutes from this location). The final straw, I go to pull out my food from the bag and the dressing is everywhere; the lid was not secured and everything in the bag is now covered. I've worked in food service, I've worked in customer service and I have never treated a customer so badly. Short staffed? ok, I get it. Busy, ok, I get it. But why not produce the orders in the order they come in, be it a walk in customer or online, like most restaurants do. Six people were served and eating before my order was ever made. I'm sorry, that's just unacceptable to me; especially since I was standing there waiting for something I ordered 45-minutes before.

I ordered food online from this location for a curb side pickup. Upon arriving to get the food no on came out for the curbside order, I then walked in to pick up my order. An employee came up to me and said they were making fresh nacho chips and it would be about 8 minutes, I said "ok" but a little taken aback that the food was not ready when I arrived. 10 minutes later the same employee came up to me and asked me is there any other meat choice I want, perplexed I said the order was already put in and it should have been ready. The employee (disregarding what I just said) then stated they only had shredded beef and shredded chicken they were out of carne asada, grilled steak, grilled chicken, and barbacoa. I told the employee this is not at all what I was expecting and to just refund my card used to place the order. He went to the register and then stated the shift before him already put the order through and could not give me a refund! WTH!?!? I then asked for the manager Gloria or Claudia came up to me after trying to get her name in mumble and asked "what is the problem?" REALLY??? I asked the manager why are you even open if your out of everything?? She stated "it will be about 35 minutes" I said "are you kidding? This order should have been ready upon my arrival" I told her just refund my card she said "I'm sorry I can't do that" frustrated as all hell I walked out and called corporate. Corporate refunded my card and apologized for the inconvenience. Whoever is the GM of this restaurant you need to retrain your employees on speed of service and customer service! All of them including your manager was walking around like they were lost no wonder no one was in there when I came in. NEVER AGAIN!!! I'll take my business elsewhere.

Cafe Rio is similar to chipotle but 100 times better! One of my best friends from college is from Vegas and this is the first place I want to go when I visit! Great place with huge portion sizes and pretty healthy! I always get the sweet pork and it's fantastic! 10/10 recommend

The staff is very disorganized and they don't seem to know what they are doing. The kitchen and food area doesn't look clean. The wait time for food is way too long. This used to be one of my favorite places for lunch but the staff needs to be trained or replaced.

terrible service ! walked in as a group and no one was in line. although there was a bunch of workers no one greeted us or considered to let us know someone will attend us momentarily. Everyone seemed to be in a bad mood or not care at all.

I paid $13 for this slop (Enchilada style burrito with sweet pork). The new guy who was working there wasn't being supervised whatsoever, and gave me a the tiniest amount of meat you've ever seen. Then, somehow even after being put through a warmer, the food was cold. To top it all of, I was charged extra for sour cream to be just slapped onto the side of my plate. I wouldn't feed this food to the pigs that were slaughtered to make the pork. I gave up on it and went to In N Out. I've been going to this location for years, however I won't be going back anytime soon, if ever.

Worst cafe Rio ever been to. All the tables were dirty, went through line, ordered food, got to cashier and was told their fountain drinks machine was broken, also no water. Wasn't told this upon entering. Also staff acted as though we were inconveniencing them by even being there.

Finally decided to drive here for a taste of mexican food. Well the place is kinda cafeteria style similar to Chipotle. After looking at the menu I finally figured on what I wanted. They take your order pretty fast but it feels that you're extremely rushed and they are rushing to make your food. I like it that you can see them make your food so you know it's done the way you want. After you let them know what ingredients you want then you have a choice of you want it enchilada style and have cheese melted. Welp being I'm a Cali raised born mexican food connoisseur, I needed mines wet enchilada style. Before your burrito is out of the oven they're already asking if it's here or to go. Pretty fast moving place. Well now let's get to the food. I didn't like it at all!!! Definitely mediocre, bland, and no flavor whatsoever! The beans seem to be cooked kinda hard and the rice didn't taste like nothing. I probably won't be coming back but I still want to try their nachos. Don't like to taste test when I'm hungry so it will definitely have to be something I try of someone else goes there as it will not be my go to place EVER! I did not recommend this place and it does not have good mexican food. You can get better mexican food at Taco Bell ir Del Taco. Yup it's that bad.

Cashier was very rude. I was unable to get my veteran's discount. She did not accept my veteran's ID, then when I showed her my driver's license that had the veteran's symbol on there, she said it was unacceptable as well. I also got charged for my kid's cheese quesadillas because my daughter was not there. I usually pick her up food before I get her from school, but I am never coming back to this location again. On top of that they forgot my salad dressing and tried to give me a medium when I ordered and paid for a large drink.

Food is good although I would Recommend when preparing the food instead of piling the ingredients on top of say the nacho chips to add some ingredients first chips then more ingredients when I was eating mine top was good then the bottom was dry NOTHING BUT CHIPS ...

Went to the one on Sahara and Rancho for my usual nachos and I love their nachos because the portions are huge and the food is delicious. However this time when I went the lady who was helping me was short with me, put smaller portions than usual and I felt like they were rushing me when there wasn't even a line! I'm very dissatisfied! I won't be going there again!!!

This place is super nice, I tried enchiladas, food was fresh and testy . Employees in hurry they didn't even say hello. Cafe Río is doing a good job with the covid-19 following state policy and doing everything safe. Nice place!

The WORST customer service experience! I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this place is so bad that people need to know, hope managers read it so they know the type of employees they have! Mariel and another girl on the line (12/14/22 at 2:41pm ) Not professional and NO customer service whatsoever..since the moment I started to say my order she had an attitude. I kept repeating my order to her several times and was trying to explain what I wanted on my tostada but she would keep talking over me and would repeat the wrong thing back to me. At the end they ended up putting everything on it and that's not how I wanted it. They even tried charging me for someone else's order at the end since they didn't even ask me which order was mine So disappointed!!!

I do not like to post negative reviews, however if I can help someone avoid the experience I had tonight so be it. The food was absolutely terrible. It came out cold. The pico was clearly old and should not have been served. I didn't want to risk the sour cream so I threw it away along with most of the burrito. The cashier was dealing with a customer service issue while the food sat on the counter cooling off. The tables were filthy and to top it off my fork broke while trying to pick up the first bite. I'm unfamiliar with this area so it was either this or McDonald's, wish I would have picked McDonalds.

I am very disappointed with my most recent visit. I placed a large order online to pick up. When I reached the last screen to pay, it stated that it could not communicate with the store. I then called in my order to the store. When I arrived to pick up I was told that the order was not made because they received two orders which were the same and they weren't sure if I was coming. The woman who helped me was unapologetic. I then had to wait for my order to be made. At the end I wasn't thanked and received no apology.

The sweet pork barbacoa never dissapoints. I eat here at least once a week. It's good on a consistent basis.

I like Cafe Rio. It's quick, convenient, and the food has always been fresh on every visit. It's a similar concept to Chipotle but better imo. I usually opt for the salad bowl which comes in a fresh tortilla (skip tortilla for a low carb option) with melted shredded cheese. You have your choice of meat as the filling. I prefer the slow roasted sweet barbacoa or chili roasted beef. Then they add in rice and beans (I decline for low carbs), lettuce, cilantro, cojita cheese, pico de gallo, and guacamole. The creamy chili lime dressing is awesome. I wish they would bottle and sell it because it would become my go-to dressing at home. For around $10 you can eat a relatively healthy lunch on the go and not feel bad about it.

We usually get salads here. They're piled high with fresh, delicious salad accoutrements. The burritos are big and tasty. The kids always want plenty of Cafe Rios' super yummy tortillas and stuff them with shredded chicken we buy as a side. We have yet to have a bad meal here. I recommend Cafe Rio.
