We stopped into Cafe Rosetta on a whim- I can't be more happy. This quaint little cafe hit the absolute spot. Me and my sister got the Bagel Sandwich- Devine. I got a gluten free bagel, it was delicious (and no additional charge!) We also got a lemon poppy seed muffin that may have actually changed the course of my life. It was so delicious I will continue to dream about for likely the rest of my days. And the Sisu Nisu Latte Iced is a taste I will strive to find or recreate in every cup of coffee for the next several months. The ladies behind the bar were amazing and accommodative. My sister burned her finger this morning, they gave her a fresh bag of ice, burn cream, a towel, and bandaids. Truly, wholeheartedly nice people. I am genuinely sad we are not from Calumet and that this will be our first and last time at Cafe Rosetta.

This was a surprising stop! Peggy’s Chicken Salad was delicious!! The latte (Superior Shore) was outstanding! Very reasonably priced. Busy, but efficient and fast!!

Ordered a 'breakfast burrito', and got the restaurant's version of a 'breakfast burrito bowl' instead, which is a small plate with a bed of uncooked spinach with an unseasoned omelette on top and about a tablespoon total of rice, beans, and shredded cheddar cheese. No meat either, had to dump hot sauce all over for even an ounce of flavor, even with sour cream and salsa coming on the side. Their guacamole (which you need to pay $2.00 extra for), is a small sauce cup of smashed avocado, not even guacamole. Definitely not worth the $10 I paid. Wait staff brought the burrito bowl out to me and to my party's shock said 'well, this is what you ordered!' in a very nippy/sassy tone before I had even noticed the plate was in front of me. The only redeeming factor about this place is that the latte I got was delicious. Will likely not be coming back as the KCW down the street serves much better food and coffee for an equivalent price.

Cozy atmosphere and delicious food! Especially enjoyed the pannukakku!

We stopped here for a breakfast before we headed out on the ATV trails. I recommend the breakfast burrito! Very filling and all the other food was good!

Google
I had ordered one of their sandwiches, the bread was very dry but I still tried to eat it regardless. A few hours later and I'm now suffering from some of the worst food poisoning I've ever experienced.

Love everything about this place. From the coffee, to the food & the sweetheart staff…. One of my favorite places to stop and get desserts from.

Google
Good place for coffee and breakfast. Had the breakfast bowl. Spinach, beans, rice, scrambled eggs and cheese. Never had this combo but it worked. Cubano coffee and latte. Fresh, efficient. Simple outdoor seating in a covid world.

Yelp
Best restaurant in upper Michigan Amazing food fantastic atmosphere staff is always so helpful and kind This is our friends and family go to Many years of wonderful service Easy to get to great perking The Your coffee is unbeatable raspberry turnovers are the best

Susan T.

Yelp
The woman behind the counter was friendly and very helpful with explaining our menu choices. Food came out quickly and was delicious and fresh.

InspiredSuz G.

Yelp
Friendly service. Great Honey Bee Latte and Almond Joy Muffin. Quaint indoor seating with space to work.

Clayton S.

Yelp
The Cali sambo may have been one of the best I've had in my life (recommend substituting the pepper Jack with white cheddar) Unique vibe in the building. Friendly staff. Good local business.

Deb B.

Yelp
Though I think they do a good job with their food, I was so disappointed when, during our first Covid lockdown, they allowed a Health Department employee's name, face, and phone number to be posted on their door. The poster demonized the poor woman and ended up provoking a harassment campaign which included thugs showing up at her home threatening her. While Cafe Rosetta used the "poor single mom" angle to justify the noncompliance of mask-wearing, they certainly condoned , and ENCOURAGED the ongoing bullying of the health department woman who was also a single mom... doing her JOB! I'll never go in there again, and neither will my level-headed acquaintances.

Yelp
Such a rare coffee treasure for a small town. My husband and I love seeking out local cafes when traveling, but find the smaller town coffee shops are generally disappointing. But this was so NOT the case with Cafe Rosetta's!! They used high quality beans, really knew how to make a proper espresso drink (from an Americano, Cortado to a miel) and also make awesome latte art! Just like the pictures shown on their website. I neglected to take pictures, but trust me the drinks are legit! Their food was also very good. The avocado toast is excellent! The breakfast bowls were also great. Also generous portions. They also have great outdoor seating and their staff is very friendly, unassuming service.

Yelp
This location is much better than the one they had a few years ago: better parking and a lot more seating. I've had a few of their sandwiches and they were all great. They are bit on the smaller side, so I usually come here when I want a lighter meal. Their soup and salad combos are good also, even if you just grab a grilled cheese and tomato soup. Their coffee is great as well.

Nate L.

Yelp
Walked in here today. Windows all covered up, maskless staff, maskless undistanced patrons, a collection jar for their legal defense fund. Only to find out that they're operating without a license due to repeated infractions. Public health isnt a game.

Kayla R.

Yelp
They used to have great coffee and great prices. I've always loved their Chai Latte and oatmeal for breakfast. The service was usually good, people have bad days once and a while. fail to follow simple recommendations that will help keep the community safe. no precautions. They lost a long time customer.

Matt M.

Yelp
Terrific maple scones here! (I love good scones with a hot, fresh cup of coffee, and Cafe Rosetta does both very well.) I love that local artists' work is on display here, as well. (Keep your dollars local, Copper Country!) The service I received was friendly and relatively fast. I plan to return on my next trip up to the U.P.

Julie P.

Yelp
The food was really good and reasonably priced. Nice choices for lunch and breakfast. Breakfast is served all day too which is a bonus. Also one of the few places in the off season with a public restroom for their customers.

Megan M.

Yelp
No masks or any other precautions during COVID surge in our community. Left promptly and did not order anything as I was with my 70 year old mother. Very disappointing, food and coffee was enjoyable in the past. That said, I won't be back. If you want a safer experience just cross the street to Keweenaw Coffee Works.

Jonathan Z.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I were expecting a cute coffee shop with good coffee and food. What we got was a dull and unclean atmosphere. They use store bought guacamole for the avocado toast and their bread is not good. My girl friend also requested for a ice coffee and received a hot latte.

Emily G.

Yelp
I stopped into Cafe Rosetta with friend who is a pastry chef, so naturally we tried everything. I am not kidding, she ordered one of everything at their pastry counter. Despite Calumet being a small old timey town I was pleasantly surprised to see the amount of gluten free options they offered. I think we ended up with more treats that were gluten free! I tried several items, including the molasses cookie, PB protein ball and the gluten free brownie. All three were delicious, but the molasses cookie was my favorite, with the brownie being a close second. The molasses cookie was so dense and chewy with incredible rich flavor. They also offer a full breakfast/brunch and lunch menu. We didn't order anything besides the pastries, but I would definitely go back to try their other food. We took our treats to go, but there was ample seating both inside and out.

Amy L.

Yelp
Wonderful staff and owners. We love the food and atmosphere at Rosetta. Stop in here and enjoy the breakfast bagel sandwich with a raspberry turnover. Their potato soup is the best I've had! Depending on the day I will also enjoy a mocha.

Rachel A.

Yelp
This place is pretty awesome and the fact that it's nestled in the Yoop is even better. I feel like I am back in Vermont with a touch of U.P. when I am here. I can't express how much I love that they are opting for fresh, local ingredients, offering organic products and really just bringing it back to the basics. The Keweenaw needs more places like this. I have been here a couple of times and the product is A+, great coffee, excellent sandwiches (I personally love the roast beef with the horseradish mayo) and delightful sweets. The soups have impressed me each time and the bread is homemade, hallelujah! The atmosphere is quite nice and the decor makes the place homey. They have a decent amount of seating and the free wi-fi is a strong signal that makes this a great place for me to post up and get some work done on the computer. The music select is a nice mix, a little bit of this, a little bit of that, not too loud and not too quiet. Oh and I must say THE PRICE IS RIGHT, unbelievably reasonable! My one complaint is service related. I had great service today, a young gal took my order, was friendly and answered my questions pleasantly and I tipped her accordingly. The guy, a fuzzier looking dude has taken my order in the past and with one word responses made me feel as though maybe I didn't belong there. It's a shame, because today on my way out I said thank you and have a great day and got no response. I'm not asking for over the top gratitude, maybe just a smile? I'm hopeful that I've just coincidentally caught him on the wrong day, we all have bad ones and that that next year when I roll through he will prove me wrong. So one minor meh isn't going to stop me from coming and I certainly won't stop telling folks to check this place out. It's awesome, I love it and it should be loved by many because it would be amazing if more business's started incorporating fresh, local ingredients; it's great for the local economy and so good for the body and soul, not to mention it tastes so much better! Thank you Cafe Rosetta, the Keweenaw needed you badly and I hope that you are a trend-setter and others start to emulate your practices.

Yelp
Wonderful gem! Fantastic coffee, fresh and healthy breakfast options. We had the breakfast burrito and bagel sandwich both were outstanding filled with wholesome ingredients. In addition, we shared a pannakakku. A Finnish pancake with berry topping. Great with the coffee. I wish this place were near me. I'd be a regular!

Yelp
Fantastic cozy place tucked in to Calumet's reviving 5th St. My lady and I stopped in for a light lunch on a dreary and chilly early fall day. The half sandwich and cup of soup was exactly what we wanted. I had the Moroccan chickpea and turkey soup, and my wife enjoyed the vegan veggie chili (I liked mine better). The chicken salad sandwich was perfect...served on wonderful homemade bread! After shopping for some Northwoods gifts across the street at Copper World, we came back in for caffeinated hot beverages. My dirty Chai was delicious, although the milk could have stood for a bit more steam. I prefer my coffee a bit hotter. The wife thought the temp was perfect though.

Opal S.

Yelp
This restaurant is currently operating without a license from the Michigan Health Department for not following safety rules. I would rather eat at a safe place that follows the health department safety standards. They also have customers that are open carrying long guns. No masks are worn by anyone and no social distancing is happening inside or out.

Kerry C.

Yelp
Lovely place to have coffee, tea and delicious breakfast. I ordered a Breakfast Burrito and it was marvelous! A great place to warm up hands and bellies Next time through Calumet, we will be back!

Molly L.

Yelp
Great place in town for a latte or other coffee drink. The chicken salad sandwich was one of the best I've ever had--high quality. My family had the bagel sandwich, grilled cheese, and roast beef sandwich and all loved it. My son had the chocolate chip cookie and one of the best he's had. Think they can make the atmosphere a bit cozier; feels a bit austere for a coffee shop in such a historic town like Calimet. Only reason I did not give them a 5-star is the atnosphere. Love the location, right after a stop at the best museum and Copper World...

Joe S.

Yelp
I ate at the Cafe Rosetta this past summer. The menu was not appealing to me but I managed to find a sandwich that I thought I would like. It was very dry. The bread was incredibly thick for how little was between the slices. It definitely comes off as more of a coffee shop than a place to have a meal. There are better options for coffee in the area. The atmosphere and decor was pleasant and the service was okay. From where I sat, I could see boxes of produce on the floor in the kitchen. The kitchen appeared to be quite small but storing food on the floor is not acceptable. They currently have an ongoing feud with the state of Michigan and the health department over restrictions put in place to protect public health. In light of that, it is no surprise to me that they would improperly store their food. I will not be going back.

Ryan O.

Yelp
They cooked my eggs wrong. Staff went to play on his phone instead of paying attention to customers while busy. Baked goods are mediocre tasting and somewhat pricy. Place definitely has a hipster vibe which I'm not a fan of but might work better for others. Free Wifi and decently fast. Music playing isnt too loud or too quiet and is tasteful. Overall I don't get the buzz, mediocre tasting food, very bitter coffee.

Megan M.

Yelp
Came here several years ago(2016) and loved everything about the shop. Warm welcoming staff, good coffee, and good food. We came back recently and were really disappointed. The shop had changed the staff was not friendly and the food was okay. Frankly it went from a gem in the north to just another small town coffee show.

James D.

Yelp
My wife and I recently explored the Keweenaw and stubbled upon this place looking for breakfast and some coffee. When we walked in we noticed two things that maybe should have advised us to leave. 1. a very confusing sign about mask wearing and both individuals behind the counter not wearing masks properly or at all. But, we believe despite someone's personal opinions a business still deserves a shot. The longer we were there the worse it got. The person that took our order had her nose sticking out of her mask, the person making coffee was wearing her mask around her chin. After placing our order the person who took our order removed her mask and never put it back on. They both were less than friendly; not a single smile from any employee. We tried to be friendly and polite as we believe all people should be treated. As more customers came in we noticed we were the only ones using masks properly. It's not a large space social distancing was not a thing. Both employees and many customers were walking around freely without masks, the person who brought us our food from the kitchen had her mask around her chin. The entire time we were there no one cleaned or sanitized a single table. Now to the food and coffee. The coffee we got (mocha and traditional latte) were pretty good. No issues there. I ordered the breakfast special which was $10 for burnt scrambles eggs, underdone hash browns, two of the smallest pieces of bacon I've ever seen and stale toast. My suggestion...if you're in Calumet and you want a coffee place that cares that you are there, cares about you as a human being and cares about coffee go across the street.

Clinton D.

Yelp
Things have changed here a bit since my visit two years ago. There are some pretty solid options here, especially for the immediate area. Some of the pastries have a MUCH too exaggerated sweetness for my taste. Difficult to find a place to sit every time I went. Not the most friendly or helpful staff.

Andrew L.

Yelp
Amazing little spot in downtown Calumet. They are doing a lot of things right. Had the maple pecan scone and it was by far the best scone I've ever had. They also have a decent number of GF options and some vegan items as well. Keep up the good work and next time we are in town, we will visit again.

Andrew H.

Yelp
Amazing, homemade soups, bread, sandwiches and desserts. You cannot beat the Rosetta for a quick Americano, or breakfast or lunch with friends. Been there many times, and it is always a favorite because the food & coffee are consistently good, and they always have happy, helpful service staff. Highly recommended over fast food.

Sarah C.

Yelp
Honestly loved the breakfast coffee was pretty good Enjoyed the custard like Finish Pancake Breakfast burrito and eggs and toast Bacon wasn't good but it was $1 House made bread was amazing with jam

W K.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast food at a good price. Just wish I was going to be in town to try lunch. Very friendly owner.

Leslie W.

Yelp
I left before ordering. The employees at the counter weren't wearing masks. Customers in line weren't respecting social distance.

Heather F.

Yelp
Great coffee. Great operation hours. Best service. Good, healthy food at reasonable prices. Great deserts. Fun location with outdoor seating.

Ashley M.

Yelp
Not good doesn't taste fresh mostly tastes baked from frozen. Coffee tasted like it was double brewed Lots more options in the area will try them instead.

Shelie I.

Yelp
Favorite coffee house in the UP. If I have a few extra hours, I will drive the half hour just to have breakfast or lunch here. The coffee is delish. Every single item I've ordered from the menu or the bakery case has been delightful. Presentation is on point. The staff is super friendly. The atmosphere is inviting and Clean. Local artists sell their wares here also. Which I find really cool. Each time I've gone in a new artist is being represented.

Lexie K.

Yelp
amazing little place and so home town American! keep up the great work. thank you! beautiful place

Nathaniel H.

Yelp
Excellent atmosphere in a historic building in Calumet; the store room is an old safe from the original building! Pleasantly surprised to find a shop like this up North: good coffee, vegan snacks, homemade bread and other food. Would definitely come back.

Hal R.

Yelp
Not a single staff member wearing a mask. Can't review the food or coffee from this visit because I was with my grandmother and we had to leave (I've eaten here in the past and enjoyed it). We were very disappointed; shame on Cafe Rosetta for their lack of care.

Ashley A.

Yelp
Best place for coffee, food, snacks, socializing or studying for that college exam! I usually go there to study for my exams! It's a really friendly place with friendly people. The best part is, they put designs in your coffee! I remember the first time I got a Carmel latte, they put a bear in the foam and it made my day. Since then I've had some really cool leaves and heart designs. The yogurt parfait and oatmeal is also DELICIOUS!

M P.

Yelp
This café has a nice product but the curt and snarky attitude of both the young man and young woman working behind the counter on September 28 in the afternoon was unacceptable To the point where I almost canceled my order and turned around and walked out. I will not be back

Laura L.

Yelp
Food is top notch. The service is wonderful too. These small businesses need our support now more than ever! Stop by and have great coffee, sandwiches, soup and the best sweets!! Visit today!

Don B.

Yelp
Awesome place! Great breakfast burritos and coffee selections. Service very friendly and responsive.

Jaylene E.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick bite to eat and just ended up getting their"Yooper" a caramel and vanilla latte. It was tehe best I've had we should have gotten a bigger one. Staff was friendly and the WiFi was very fast. I'd definitely come back next trip.

Cathy C.

Yelp
Food was great, but the staff barely spoke, and one sat on her phone the entire time we were there, they did not seem to be excited to work there! Ruined the experience. Coffee to go recommended.

David B.

Yelp
Enjoyed the outdoor dinning and watching folks shopping on the busy street. We had the soup and sandwich. Both were good but the chicken salad sandwich was a little light on the chicken. Very courteous staff, clean and a good experience.

Amanda B.

Yelp
What a gem! Have been coming here for years. Great coffee shop ambiance with excellent homemade bakery items, sandwiches, and my favorite, their soup of the day!

Ashley B.

Yelp
Everything is amazing! The sandwiches on fresh homemade bread are filling and delicious. Every soup I've tried is something I've never made myself (nor will I!) there's a unique flavor in them that says Cafe Rosetta. Vegan chili was the last one I remember. Spectacular coffee- I tend to get a mocha latte or a frappe and it's always perfect. Salads super good as well- the combinations are flavorful and as good as dessert. Friendly and quick service - we'll be coming back again and again!

Becky M.

Yelp
We ordered a cinnamon roll and they told us they would heat it up and bring it out to us. They forgot about it, which is OK that happens sometimes. But when we asked an employee about it, she told us that she couldn't help us, we needed to go back to the kitchen and ask about it ourselves. Not the best customer service i have ever experienced. By the time we did get it was cold, but OK. Everything else was fine.

Dan S.

Yelp
Great coffee. Loved the triple berry gluten free scone and the turkey pesto sandwich was really fulfilling...best part was all for under $12. I also love that the coffee is all freshly brewed in a French press. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Tom H.

Yelp
Great place in historic downtown. Stopped for a quick breakfast during weekend trip to UP. Amazing barista: she created probably best cinnamon/ cardamom latte. Great foam art as well. Had light breakfast - hearty oatmeal and breakfast burrito. All tasty. Great spot. Nice art displayed, low prices and located across street for art galleries and a gaggle (or is that here) of churches. Stop by and support this and other local businesses.
