I was craving a late night snack, and as this was one of the few places still delivering, I thought I'd give this place a try. With great regret, this late night snack turned into a food debacle. This food definitely didn't satisfy my late night craving, and I regret the moment I decided to order from this place . I ordered a lamb gyro sandwich and lamb gyro plate. Both were equally distasteful as salty. The food itself looked quite amateurish and no thought process went into making this meal. The rice from the platter tasted of cinnamon and was crunchy! It was so off putting, I couldn't even eat it. On top of that, my stomach was upset, and let's just say the bathroom became my best friend awhile after. Needless to say, I won't order from here again.

The food was bland and did not taste good. I ordered onion rings they didnt have any onion in them. Just thick breading. Parmesan wings tasted like they were cooked in old grease. The baked ziti was saucy and cheesy but no seasoning. Bland. The workers were nice and my food was ready on time it just didn't taste good. I have to find out what there signature dish is cause wings and pasta is not it.

I ordered a few things here. Chicken Shawarma Plate ( horrible and bland, tasteless) Chicken Shawarma Gyro ( dry and tasteless) Pizza Mexican ( the only thing that was OK ) Cheese Pasta ( tasteless and bland ) I spent $57 on horrible food, not worth the long wait I had to wait and definitely not worth the money. I would only eat the pizza if I have no where else to go. Other than that, save your money people and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE ! Ps. Fruit flies around the restaurent too.

PLEASE READ. First and foremost, I saw the recent reviews and did not want to come here. It was a very late night with limited options, we found another place on Google maps called “Saetailanos” the reviews were decent and food looked great. We arrived to find out that this location is operating under two separate restaurant names serving the same things. I was a little thrown off by this and was hesitant to order anything but like I said limited open options to pick from. My in-laws ordered food and I went to wash my hands…the bathrooms were horrid, run down, cobb webs, outright dirty very clear they have not been cleaned in ages (no exaggeration), and no soap in one bathroom. At this point I was not even hungry anymore and could have done without but my spouse and in-laws were starving and we had been traveling all night. BUT let me tell you, when that pizza came out…..BOY did it smell so damn good & the flavors were fireeeee 🤌🏼🙌🏼 Y’all put some love on the pizza! Almost had me forget where I was at and how grossed out I felt beforehand. Only reason I marked down on the food is because shortly after eating I saw one of the chefs come out with the same gloves he was cooking in and answer the phones, deal with the register, touch his nose (he sounded and seemed sick with a runny nose), and went right back into the kitchen did not wash his hands or change the gloves…..& went right back to questioning how this place is even opened and not shut down by public health. That pizza is the only reason I’m giving a 3 star and the woman who took our order was very nice. This place has potential if the pizzas are that good I can’t vouch for any other items on the menu. The owners, managers, & chefs need some refreshers on cleanliness though.

The veggie pizza is my fav Don’t forget to ask for garlic sauce on the side 🙌🏿 Open late!!

DO NOT RECOMMEND. Long wait which is normal but long wait with below average food and the only late night eat in the area this is disappointing. Wings are X SMALL and barley any sauce on them. I got chicken Alfredo also and it's watery and flavorless smh.

I had a random craving for hummus so I decided to check this place out. The hummus was amazing!!! It was super creamy and the pita bread was warm and soft. I ordered extra pita, but In hindsight I think the pita it comes with should be plenty if you decide to order this. I can’t wait to go back and try out their other dishes!

Food is TRASH! The falafel was dry and hard.The chicken shawarma was dry. The portions were small. I will NEVER eat there again!

Slim pickings for really great Mediterranean food in the Tri-cities area but we always saw this place in the corner and decided to give it a go. Glad we didn't read the reviews first because some of it definitely would have worried us. It's an interesting place since the restaurant is really bare, strong smell is incense right away and the menu is kind of all over the place. Overall it's not bad! The pizza was decent, wings weren't too small and the salad was okay. I would order the pizza here again. I will say the only part of the reviews that is true is that they don't have true tzatziki sauce. Even when I asked directly, he said yes and gave me ranch

The sauce was horrible, and after about 2 hours I began getting really nauseous and began vomiting. This is day 2 and I'm just now feeling like I can try to eat something. I had really bad stomach pains . This was my first time eating here and my first time in ATL for work. NEVER AGAIN. Received a refund from Uber Eats .

I feel like I wasted $29 ordering this food my falafel sandwhich was cold and looked worn out. The grape leaves tastes sour and was supposed to have rice in it but was simply mush. The bean dip I ordered was void of any flavor. I understand, I ordered my food late and after hours but, I would have been better off remaining hungry. My stomach hurt after this food and of course now I am out of $29. Thanks but no thanks.

This is the worse that it gets. Especially if you know what authentic Mediterranean food tastes like. Cold dry, salty. They don't even use real taziki sauce. They gave me some type of off brand ranch sauce. I called and spoke to the manager and he said he never had a complaint. And it's on me if I didn't like the food. He also said that there's nothing he could do. And didn't care whether I went to yelp. So here I am! Don't eat here. This food is disgusting!

Dry food, takes forever to get your order. And they advertise tzaziki sauce on their dishes but give you *ranch*. Ranch with my gyro. Yum.

Ordered for lunch and had it delivery to the office. I got the trio vegetarian plate which arrived nice and hot. The spices were so good in the yellow rice. The falafel was cooked to perfection. Hummus was ok, lacked some flavor but was fine to eat (toasted pita bread was included). The dolmathes have a hint of lemon and we're tasty. Greek salads are my favorite. They forgot to add the Greek dressing I requested but I was still able to eat the salad without it. It was enough food for 2 people. Definitely would try this place again.

I had almost finished my fries when I noticed ROACH PIECES in them!! I threw my food out in such a hurry I did not get a photo... disgusting! Do not go here!! Plus, the chicken gyro was also very bland and the fries were dry...... this was a UberEats order, I did not eat in.

I had the lamb gyro and it was alright, the meat wasn't very flavorful & didn't seem like super fresh cut meat but i guess it's a better option when looking for some late night food by the airport and it was decently priced. I also got some mozzarella sticks and they weren't bad at all. Can't go wrong with those.

Great vegan and gluten free items! 1. The atmosphere is definitely cafe like. Be careful with the table with tiles because they come out and the edges are sharp. 2. The food is good, but portion size could be larger for dinner. The falafel pita sandwich would be great for a quick lunch, but needs a side for a full meal.

VERY VERY SMALL PORTIONS $11 for a half a plate of food and the rice wasn't cooked the chicken for some reason has very little flavor but is very gritty like sand is on it this is the only place that delivers late night in my are so it looks like if I get hungry late at night I'll just have a glass of water instead which you'll definitely need if you get the chicken it's soooooooooooooko dry this was such a disappointing experience

Great service, good food, and fast. Loved the fresh cut bell peppers in the lamb gyro, nice touch. Great stop before the airport to grab some lunch and hop on the MARTA to avoid drop-off mess.

I am very careful about posting reviews for any restaurant right now. Although we are finally emerging from this pandemic most food businesses are still struggling with staffing and other challenges. That being said we still have to hold restaurants accountable to their brand and the customers that patronize them. We were gonna order takeout from a fave place in Buckhead, but I decided to support a business close to home. I love Mediterranean so I was thrilled to find Café Shekel. We ordered the falafel appetizer, chicken pesto gyro, chicken parm, combo beef and chicken gyro and chicken shawarma. The food took a lot longer to prepare than originally estimated, but my husband extended grace and waited patiently. The falafel and the side salads were the best pet of the meal. The meat was so dry it was barely edible. The only positive was that it was well-seasoned, but we used every drop of taziki sauce to make it edible. The spaghetti soaked up all of the sauce so my daughter grabbed some marinara sauce from our pantry and added it. Before posting the review I called to give my feedback and express my disappointment. Natalia (sp?), was very kind and apologetic. I don't regret my decision to support a restaurant on my side of town and I'm not sure I'll go there again. I do wish our experience was better.

What kind of Mediterranean establishment doesn't have kalamata olives or a vinegar based salad dressing? The gyro is just OK. The meat lacks flavor. Maybe it comes from a pack and not carved. This place has potential. Just needs to be more authentic.

Stop by here on a Sunday for the first time. The restaurant has only been open a month so I was very curious to see if there were going to be any growing pains. Ordered the chicken gyro And the better half ordered a chicken and beef plate. Our appetizer consisted of hummus which was absolutely 100% on point. Both plates came out and were absolutely great I'll be coming back to this restaurant for sure. It's good to see another restaurant in the college park area.

The hummus was a little bland so that was disappointing but the falafel was very tasty, as well as the egg plant sandwich. And the baklava was delicious!

Quick walk from my hotel- as I was on an overnight layover and needed some lunch. I had the falafel, and pesto chicken sandwich. Both were delicious, the falafel was crispy on the outside and nicely flavored. The chicken was juicy and well balanced with the pesto. I subbed the fries for a salad and it was fresh and the dressing very good. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice and got my food ready quickly. Perfect quick lunch - and very reasonably priced.

Ordered from them through UberEats. Everything was extremely dry, not enough sauce provided to help moisten the food. Flavor was decent though. Ordered a tiramisu, I'm the most unhappy with this because how as a business are you serving tiramisu that cane straight out of the freezer seemed like? The cream on a tiramisu shouldn't not be particularly frozen when served. Like what did you all do, take it straight out a box in the freezer back it up and said it was good to go. No, that is so unprofessional. And please learn how to cook with to the point of being completely dry.

First place I ate after returning from Hawaii, this food was so good. Even as I write this review I am getting hungry for this food again. Such a great smell and taste, it really satisfies and I would get this for any occasion. The portions were really good, they don't skimp one your order, the fragrance of the rice was absolutely amazing. A must try for anyone feeling like something new in the ATL.

I love this place! Cafe Shekel is my go-to COVID delivery splurge restaurant when I've had an awful day and need someone to feed me like a baby bird. I always get the Chicken Pasta Alfredo without fail. It's thick, as if it's been baked....none of the runny Alfredo sauce and packaged egg noodles here! I usually get their wonderful Tiramisu but today calls for full-on chocolate cake! Delivery is super...they always text, leave with no contact and are very gracious!!!! It's worth every penny during these merciless times....

I'm not Greek, but the gyro that I ordered was extremely strange. There was cucumbers, minty taste, and little shreds of meat buried inside the bread. I don't know, maybe it was because I ordered at the end of the night, but it was one of the weirdest gyros I've ever had

We had a long wait for food that was mediocre at best. It's a shame, because we were looking forward to having an option for Middle Eastern type food in College Park.

Went to Cafe Shekel for take out. I was the only customer but hostess failed to greet me and walked to the back. When she took my order, I asked why she wasn't wearing a mask. Irritated, she replied, "God's got me. I'm trusting in God," and downplayed seriousness of covid-19. I paid for the order, and asked if the food preparer wore a mask. She proudly assured me that he did not. I asked her to ask him to put one on for my order. "I can't make him put on a mask. You can get your money back." The preparer refused to wear a mask so I asked for my money back; it was returned. I told them they were rude, disrespectful, unsafe, and don't care about customers.

This is one of the worst experiences I've had in a long time. They cashier was the cook and waiter. The food was bland. Don't waste your time or your money! Not good at all!

I ordered this on Uber eats and I was very disappointed. Like other reviews the meat lacks little to no taste at all. I can tell it was made with no types of spices at all. I ended up throwing the majority of it away. The only reason it gets two stars is because the salad was the best part of the whole meal. It was made with romaine lettuce just the way I like it. Other than that I won't be ordering from this establishment again.

A tasty and fresh option in Historic College Park...and they have good opening hours! We ordered takeaway by phone on a rainy Sunday night - food was ready within 20 minutes. Two of us shared the lemon chicken hummus sandwich (a wrap) and the trio vegetarian plate. The food was very good. The hummus is light and flavored just right. The falafel was flavorful and not greasy. They have good pita as well. The lemon chicken hummus sandwich was very good - lots of chopped veggies and a lovely taste. The interior decor is basic but there's plenty of space for groups. Prices were reasonable for portions/quality. We'll be back!

After recently returning from Israel, my wife and I were driving in College Park and saw Cafe Shekel. The name triggered fond memories of falafel and humus. On a whim my wife and I decide to give the place a try. It was lunch time. We entered and discovered an almost empty room filled with sparsely scattered bare tables of assorted sizes accompanied by a motley collection of chairs. The ambiance, or lack there of, reminded me of college dives from my long past youth. But we were here so we decided to give it a go. We both had the vegetarian sampler: falafel, salad, domades, rice, humus and pita wedges. The salad was pretty standard fare. The falafel was good, served with a yogurt dipping sauce. The domades were acceptable. The humus was good, tasted home made. The pita wedges were soft and fresh. I have seen a number of people complain that the humus was bland. Well that's chickpeas for you. If you want flavored humus then you have to add some thing to it. Here they put a small amount of olive oil on top and a sprinkle of paprika on top. Nothing fancy. Over all, I thought the food was satisfactory. Not outstanding but not bad either. If you are in the area and want some Mediterranean food and are not looking for more than bare bones decor it will suffice.

Really great food everyone in my party enjoyed salads & Gyros. Food is worth it. Atmosphere is not the greatest we ate in but man the food made up for it, all very good. It was nice they were open we're on Labor Day a lot of places right around there were closed for Labor Day so good food good times.

Good, reasonably priced Mediterranean food in a store front setting with a huge glass window and wooden tables and chairs. Good service. My daughter and I ordered two meal plates and shared them. The beef gyro meet was delicious!

Not a good experience. The lamb with gyro plate was microwaved, nothing on my plate screamed that these guys are actual preparing Mediterranean food, everything looked and tasted frozen or out of the box. Salad was devoid of lettuce, olives or even a basic vinaigrette found in restaurants of a similar vein and price point. I dined-in and the place has zero warmth or personality, it should just be a take out window on the side of the building. This place is not sustainable IMO.

I'm verrry disappointed in the service at this establishment- I ordered through Grub Hub and waited three hours - the woman who answered told me my phone was being delivered after about 1.5 hours after the order - 3 hrs later still no food. I call back and she says "oh! The food is still here on the counter and the order must have been cancelled through grub hub" (which it wasn't I later confirmed) she places me on hold for fifteen minutes never to come back to the phone - I can hear her taking orders and laughing in the background, then I'm hung up on. I call back and she's just like, "I'm sorry you have to call the restaurant or grub hub tomorrow I don't know what happened...I'm sorry." She was talking to me and the person who was ordering at the counter at the same time and It was just really unprofessional, lack of care/concern, tacky and def left a bad taste in my mouth! On a spiritual level when people are that careless, sloppy and unhelpful, do we really want them preparing our food? Guess it was a blessing in disguise - we have to do better business people

Ordered the black bean nachos and it was literally a container filled with black bean dip, 3 jalapeños, a scoop of rice and cheese. It was supposed to have tomatoes and onions. The chips were so stale we could barely chew them. I ordered on Postmates. So I paid like $18 for the most trash order in life. The black bean dip tasted like black beans and water puréed. No seasoning. I will never eat or order from this place again.

This place has great food and it's open late. They offer great Mediterranean food at reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

I've ordered from there twice. The food is actually very good. My issue was with the delivery. The first time I ordered it took longer than expected (about 2 hours). The gyros are fantastic! So good that I wanted them again a few weeks later. Ordered them again on a Sunday through GrubHub. Two hours later I try calling the restaurant, it went directly through to a cell phone's voice mail. I was never able to get anyone on the phone and never received my food. Get it together with deliveries and this place is easily 4 stars.
