Google
Pretty good food, excellent service and good atmosphere. I found the pasta sauce on my dish to be decent, and the chicken soup was okay though the broth was lacking a little bit of flavor. Service was absolutely top notch. So while I'm not sure that I'll be back, I'm still giving it five stars.

Eva Moy M.

Google
The food is delicious. I had the eggplant parmigiana. It was delicious. The service is outstanding.

We ordered the little neck pasta, shrimp scampi and fish and chips. The pastas were both extremely salty. We usually don’t complain or have food send back but ended up sending the shrimp scampi back. We asked for more noddles for the little neck pasta… it was better after we mixed it but still a bit salty. Fish and chips were good.

We walked in and placed an order for 2 hot subs. We were very excited to try Tamburellis because we'd heard good things. Understandably, there was a wait, and we sincerely hoped it would be worth it. When we got home, less than 10 minutes after getting our food, it was apparent that our order didn't come up front when it was ready. The hot subs were barely warm, the French fries while tasty, were room temperature. Both subs were a disappointment. The meatball sub roll was burnt, the meatballs were room temperature and the cheese was hard and stuck to the container. The cheeseburger sub was devoid of grilled onions, and the hamburgers used were dried out and hard. This was a disappointment and I sincerely doubt we'll try again.

Google
I love this place. I've lived one town over from this cafe for the last 16 years and never knew about it. Now, I generally stop in once per week, if not twice. Love it. Great food, phenomenal service, and extremely reasonable prices.

Google
We made a short detour for a lunch stop on our way back from the beach. So glad we did. The food was excellent, with generous portion sizes. The decor was nice and service was friendly. I hope to visit again.

Google
Food was tasty, and my daughter loves their kids' spaghetti! Food and service are dependable. We'll be back!

Google
I live 25 miles away and never knew this place existed until today. Very quaint restaurant and extremely clean. Great table service, and we met the owner who was pleasant and interesting to talk to. Prices are great! Good quality ingredients too. Plenty of safe, off-street parking on the side. We were so impressed, we placed an order for later in the week for 12 pizzas for a sports team. I would recommend this place to anyone I know. In fact, we have friends that live about the same distance north and this is a great spot to meet and get together. If you want a nice place to dine, and don't mind getting off Rte 13, it's just a little off the dual highway and well worth supporting a non-chain establishment.

Yelp
This is a great place. Brought my mom here on a Friday evening for dinner. We were greeted by Gina. She was very attentive to our needs. They were very accommodating to tweaks and changes with our meal. Food was delicious and hot. I got the chicken eggplant parm and my mom got the lasagna. Both were cooked to perfection. I also tried the pizza and it was great. We will be back.

Yelp
Holy Cow, the food was delicious; the service was first-rate and the ambiance was just what you'd expect from a small town hidden treasure. If you're in the area (we took a wrong turn that turned into a "happy accident" right (correct) turn...GO HERE! We thought for sure that we'd be eating vending machines food at our hotel when we stumbled onto this place! We were grateful that they were open and surprised by the number of both local and out-of-town license plates in the parking lot, but took it as a great sign that they must know what they're doing! Do yourself and your family a favor and go here...at least once or twice or five times! You will be glad you did!

Emily A.

Yelp
We love Cafe Tamburelli's! The food is always fresh and delicious, and the pizza is the best locally! We love the buffalo chicken pizza and so many other items on the menu. Cafe Tamburelli's never disappoints! This place is a real gem!

Mathilda C.

Yelp
this is a no frills restaurant but the best Italian food, esp the pizza. Whenever we go by this place we always have to stop for their food. It's consistently good. You've got to try it.

Yelp
We stopped here for Sunday, lunch, I ordered lasagna and my husband had spaghetti and meatballs. My first bite of lasagna was sweet. I told my husband there must be sugar in the sauce because that was the first thing I noticed. It was good but I personally don't like my tomato sauce that sweet. The service was OK a little slow but not bad. The interior was small, but cute. We have friends who live their pizza. It was our first time here so we will try again to see if we like the pizza also.

Rick S.

Yelp
Food is absolutely delicious. Accommodations are great. Service is great. But no wine or beer on the menu to enjoy a wonderful evening. This is a first for me. Great Italian cuisine and no access to wine or beer. Go figure.

Yelp
Ordered a few times before, and food was passible, if not memorable, but last night was our last ever order from this establishment. I think it's safe to say, that anyone living in Lower Delaware knows what "chicken" looks and tastes like. What Cafe Tamburelli had the audacity to put on a plate last night was the saddest excuse for "chicken" that I have ever been served. Heads-up to the management - There is NO instance, EVER, where someone should be able to confuse CHICKEN with stale, freezer-burned VEAL. Chicken parm is not GRAY in color. It's not sinewy and tough. It's not supposed to resemble beef jerky. It was so bad, we didn't even want to feed it to our dogs. We actually thought we'd gotten the wrong order, and when the restaurant was confronted, they insisted they didn't serve veal, and what they gave us was, in fact "chicken". They would have been better off telling me "sorry for the error", because I actually would not have questioned that... but to insist that what they gave me was "chicken" only proves that whoever is running the place, needs a lesson in food prep and safety - because serving something that looks and tastes like it had been lost under a refrigerator for a week, rinsed off, pounded to an inch of its life, and then baked for 8 hours to a customer and thinking that was "OK" is beyond stupid. Do yourself a favor. Read the 1-star reviews and take them to heart, because they are 100% correct.

Yelp
Nice little place off Rt 13. One side has a dining room the other side is the kitchen. We called ahead and ordered take out. Large pie with pepperoni and an eggplant parmigiana dinner. Not the pizza and the eggplant were delicious. Eggplant portion was so larger had lunch for the next day. Very reasonable priced.

Yelp
Nice service. Great mushroom pizza and house salad. Reasonable price and clean establishment. Will try some pasta on the next trip.

Yelp
We were heading home from the beach via some serious backroads and it seemed like every one-light town only had a small restaurant or diner type place. When we came through here we saw the Tamburelli's sign and decided to stop. We were hungry. We fully expected a sub and pizza place...and they do have subs and pizza but they also have a variety of other dishes. It was mid-afternoon so we were the only ones in the place at the time and the waitress was very friendly and helped us out with the menu choices. The food was wonderful. Both hot and delicious and plentiful. The best of all is that the prices were very reasonable. If we ever travel these roads, again, it's no question that we will stop in and have a meal. Even though there isn't much to the town. This eatery stands out.
google avatar

Yelp
Very disappointing. 3 of our 4 meals were cold when they arrived at the table. Waitress was new and didn't know the menu. Will not return.
google avatar

Tracey R.

Yelp
We were passing through this part of Delaware and decided to stop....I ordered Pepperoni, Sausage and extra cheese...When we picked up the pizza, there was NO pep or sausage. Young ditzy girl at the counter said "you only ordered cheese".... I said, "NO, I'm certain I asked for pep and sausage, I have NOT ordered a cheese pizza since I was a child?!?!" Left VERY ANNOYED!!! Cheese pizza was pretty good, but we will NOT stop there again....

Yelp
Restaurant that serves generous portions at very reasonable prices and a great wait staff. Was just visiting the other day. Very pleased! The three of us enjoyed the food a lot and able to take some home. The Mozzarella sticks in marinara sauce was great, as was the very generous side salad and our entrees... Veal Parmagiana Chicken Marsala Baked Ziti Mozzarella sticks Basket of Garlic Bread What added to the good food was the waitress. Very helpful, professional and personable! Not rushed at all. We sat there a long time with a friend who we were visiting. Can't say enough about this place. ENJOY your next meal here!!!

Yelp
Best cauliflower pizza!! We have always loved eating here and tonight was no different. Tonight we had the cauliflower pizza and I have to tell you... this was fantastic!! My husband, who normally does not like cauliflower, remarked at how awesomely delicious this was. Living a low carb lifestyle makes it hard to eat out due to limited choices. Thank you Tamburellis for having such a great option that's absolutely delicious!! Definitely will be back to get another!

Yelp
Haven't been here in years so I stopped here for lunch last week while working in Greenwood. Shame on me for wanting so long to come back!! Ordered sub and it was superb and more than I could eat, so had enough for dinner. Prices were more than reasonable for all the food I had. Will definitely make the effort to get here more often!!!

Yelp
Ordered two hot turkey sandwiches with mashed potatoes as needed comfort food and usual place in town closed. I will wait next time. Guess I shouldn't have gone to an Italian place for hot turkey sandwich. They were horrible. The turkey was sliced lunchmeat. The potatoes taste like a refrigerator. The entire entree had a sour taste to it. Neither of us ate the food. It went straight into the trash. This is a local place for me too. Not the same under the new owners. Used to be really good. My daughter in law from Italy used to love the place. Change is not always good.

Patti C.

Yelp
My husband and I have been going to Tamburelli's for years when Joe was the owner.. we have been going alot on Friday nites.. the last few times have not been good... Only one waitress for the whole place on a Friday nite! then we ordered a fresh basket of french fries and they came rather quickly and were not fresh or warm but we were hungry so we ate them. We ordered half pepperoni and half ground beef pizza.. It took 45 minutes for our pizza to come to us and then we had to ask where it was.. When it finally came every piece had a big bubble on each slice and it did not look good at all. My husband took the pizza up to the owner and asked him about it -- he was very rude and not at all customer friendly... I think we will not be going back for a while ....

Yelp
I live 3 miles from here and always order the same thing on their menu. Streak turnover with fried onion, mushroom and extra sauce baked in. It's absolutely the best and loaded. My work crew loves it as much as I do. Were addicted:)

Liesl M.

Yelp
Enjoyed this delicious pizza stop on the way home from the shore. Staff super friendly and pizza was amazing!

Yelp
Great spot to eat. Very flavorful food, large portions and good selection. My wife orders cannoli and tiramisu.

Yelp
For most of my life I've driven by this restaurant on my way to and from the beach. When we moved here a decade ago, I promised myself I would actually stop and eat here sometime. I am soooo glad we finally made it here for dinner, which was fabulous! We had salad (fresh torn romaine with lots of fresh cherry tomatoes, black olives, as well as slices of red onion and cucumber (we sampled Italian/balsamic vinaigrette and blue cheese dressings-both good). One of us had a huge plate of fettuccini Alfredo with big shrimp and lots of them. We sampled the Sicilian pizza (with multiple toppings--delicious) and a NY style Bianca cheese pizza--the crust was perfect and very, very thin! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
On our way home from Dewey beach a couple of weekends ago hubby and I decided to treat our son and his girlfriend to a quick dinner before heading home. We have driven by this place many times, as we always take the back roads to the beach, and have read all the reviews and checked out their menu online (lots of great dinner specials I might add) so I was really looking forward to a good meal. We arrived around 5:30 and were seated right away by a very nice lady who was also our server. We started with the Calmari Appetizer and garden salads - the calamari was very good and the dipping sauce made it even better, and the salads were fresh a quite large, hubby and I shared mine. For our meals hubby got the Italian Cold Cut which he really enjoyed, he thought the lunch meat looked like it had just been sliced and was so large he saved half for lunch the next day. My son and I both got the Stuffed Shells which came with salad and breadsticks - the sauce was tangy and delicious and the garlic breadsticks were warm and buttery and my son's girlfriend got the Eggplant Parmesan Sub which she thoroughly enjoyed. They are very generous with their portions and during the week they have a different special each day. The restaurant has its own large parking lot beside the building and along the street there are several cute shops you can check out while waiting for your meal. We will definitely be back, next time to try their pizza.

Yelp
Awesome wings. Had the extra hot and the homemade Italian dressing is great. Hope to stop back next time I go through town.

Rose C.

Yelp
Never fails to be the best! Their Tuesday spaghetti special was amazing my stepfather would approve highly! The sauce is meaty and packed with flavor and the meatballs are huge! Katelyn is always an outstanding server and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best meal like always! Can't wait to to try the next special!

Beverly J.

Yelp
We've been customers at Tamburelli's for quite some time, but after tonight's visit it will be a while before we return. After placing an order for one pizza, we were left waiting for much too long. We finally asked about our order and we're told the cook was 'new' and they were short staffed. When the pizza arrived, it was just so-so. Left the restaurant feeling as if management was lacking.
google avatar

Marv C.

Yelp
Tables were sticky. Waitress was nice. Garlic bread was doughy. They don't have the garlic knots any longer according to the waitress. Pizza was good new york style slices The Stromboli was large and good. The cannoli was the best part of the meal. Overall, very average.

Brian C.

Yelp
We have always heard great things about the food and were excited when they started to offer delivery and online ordering. The first order on line went well, pizza and wings were delivered in about 45 minutes and very delicious. Second time we ordered we had to call the restaurant an hour and a half after the order to be told they were not offering delivery that day even though our online order was processed (no diner that evening). Third and final time we will ever order from Cafe Tamburelli's we ordered a pizza and an appetizer the online order went well we could follow the progress until it stated food was read for delivery, after that point it took 35 minutes for the order to be delivered. The pizza was cold to the point the grease was coagulated and the Mozzarella sticks could snap apart. I feel bad for them for they have had a great reputation. I guess delivery is not there thing.

Yelp
i love this place .. simply cause the world is asking us to support restaurants but not many has shown love on my purchase. however this place has... mad at myself for leaving my hometown to order out when it was right here in greenwood.

Albert M.

Yelp
Tamburelli's of Greenwood De - Worth Stopping For! Well, passing through town on on Rte 16 you have to slow down to 25 or else talk to the man (he's usually under a shade tree, well-hidden, donut close by), so why not slow down and eat something. Tamburelli's is a nice little family style Italian pizzeria-restaurant reminiscent of so many red table cloth places in the northeast USA. We've stopped here a few times and had: their daily specials; pizza bianca; antipasti; other salads; subs, etc., all tasty, well prepared, and appropriately served. They take credit cards but you won't need to up your credit limit. You could even pay cash! AFM

Beth P.

Yelp
The homemade pasta was incredible! I had the Ziti. It was good and hot and the serving size was twice what I could eat. I took 1/2 home with me. The bread, made from homemade dough was so yummy! I ate more bread than usual! Salad was fresh and tasty with ranch dressing! The service-spectacular!!! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys "real" food!

Yelp
Unassuming little place off the main street in Greenwood. Reminded me of a NY or NJ pizza place. Parking right next to the building. Nice waitress who recommended the calzone and also fixed our wobbly table. We had a pizza, pepperoni calzone and a cheesesteak & fries. All was delicious. The calzone was gigantic and had the perfect ratio of dough to cheese and meat.
google avatar

Yelp
Randomly stopped here on the way back to DC from Rehoboth. I'm originally from NJ and my friend is from NY and we were SO THRILLED to find a place with real pizza! You may not be aware, but DC is where pizza goes to die, so we miss our roots. I had the italian sausage with mushroom and she got a meatball sub and both of us were in heaven. I even ordered a second pizza to go. Turns out the owner learned his craft in NJ which is why this place rocks. It's nothing fancy, but the best italian I've had outside of home. Waitress was really friendly and owner (while amused at our excitement) chatted a bit.
google avatar

Yelp
We are not that far away and visit maybe once every three months or so,very good pizza and friendly atmosphere, you can order take out or stay in,Full menu to choose from and the prices are reasonable and always a good choice and if your out and about give them a try we have and will continue to do so
google avatar

Lou M.

Yelp
This place is conveniently located not far from the highway (after making a long trip from NYC). The service was decent and the pizza was pretty good. If you're on a road trip going through these parts because you chose to avoid I-95, I definitely recommend you make a pit stop here.
google avatar

Angela L.

Yelp
Pretty good local pizza place, likely crowded during Super Bowls and little league baseball tournaments. We went late (around 9 pm) on a Friday night and, much to my surprise, we one of three full tables. I shared a cheese calzone and was still extremely full. Their fries have a great crispy-ness and reminded me of a good version of Burger King's fries. My husband had pizza which he described as "decent" though the dough apparently got soggy over time. I'm likely to return again and get the calzone though I don't see myself raving over it anytime soon.

Mag B.

Yelp
Great service, informal setting, food made to order and good for a local go to place. They give you a lot of food for the money. They have weekly dinner specials. Wine choices just OK tasting for the price per glass. The next time we'll try the pizza.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
Very good pizza and calzones. "Italian" entrées average/Americanized. Good service. Nice quaint old building and decorated pretty well.
google avatar

Lance L.

Yelp
Enjoy their pizza and their Monday special: all-you-can-eat spaghetti with garlic knots (!!). My fiancee find ourselves coming here more than we probably should, but the atmosphere and staff have us hooked.

John S.

Yelp
Their pizza is excellent and the Stromboli won't disappoint. Food quality is what bring me back. The service and kitchen speed are generally above average. Depending on what part of the building you see, it can be charming or somewhat worn down. Charming wins...partially because they keep it clean and partially because it's the nicest storefront in Greenwood.
google avatar

Jerell T.

Yelp
The pizza and wings are excellent! ! We order every Monday night. The specials they offer are very reasonable. Best pizza place in Sussex county!!

Rachael M.

Yelp
Love the pizza and clam pasta! Both are available in gluten free, which is amazing and hard to find in this area.

Patty D.

Yelp
Excellent. We live 35 minutes away and for Italian we will drive to Greenwood. Best marinara sauce and best pizza by far - we had the Venetian - spelling may be wrong, but you will see it on menu. Fresh , delicious crust and not greasy at all. Love it. Go you will too.

Kristina J.

Yelp
I love coming here! It's true what they say about the pizza-delicious! As for the food it's delicious too, with an incredible reasonable price! Perfect if you are feeling hungry after spending too much money on shopping :)

Al M.

Yelp
When my wife is out on errands, she frequently has the pizza and she says it's excellent. We frequently go to the Greenwood Library and the Post Office and then walk over to Cafe Tamburelli. What I enjoy the most is their Cappuccino!! $2.95 ... in a huge cup. So far we have had the Fettuccine Carbonara and then the next time I asked for "Bowties Carbonara" ... It was great! I love bowties. And you can "design" your own pasta dish by choosing from five pastas and seven sauces, with a number of other additions such as meat balls, shrimp. etc. I have also had the Bison Burger, made with locally raised bison. Have it cooked medium rare [very low fat] and your choice of toppings ... I had bacon, friend onions, fried mushrooms, and hot peppers. The desserts include an outstanding cannoli [chocolate or "regular"] and little baby cream puffs [bocconcini] small bites ... but pop the whole thing into your mouth before crunching it; don't try to bite them in half! We have really enjoyed eating there and look forward to going there as a real treat!
google avatar

Adam B.

Yelp
I have been going here since they opened. Unfortunately, I moved away but this is one of my go-to places when I'm around. Good food, friendly staff, and nice setting. This is a great place for little Greenwood.

Rob W.

Yelp
Decent pizza, decent service. It's a pizza place. Nothing really great, nothing really lousy.

Donna B.

Yelp
I have eaten there many times. I love the Chix Wings. For a Christmas Dinner I ordered enough Wings to feed 20 people. They had them ready on time and you could tell they had not been sitting. Picking up 3 of my Grandchildern from Milford tonight and we are getting Wings and Pizza to Go. Everyone is excited.
