We Solved the Mystery of Where Nicolas Cage and Charlie Sheen Ate ‘Square Tube Pasta’ in San Francisco - Eater SF

"Cafe Tiramisu serves a 'square spaghetti carbonara' and opened in 1992. Nicolas Cage mentioned visiting the restaurant about 25 years ago with Charlie Sheen to try square tube pasta, which they loved so much they returned the next day to try it again. The restaurant co-owner confirmed Cage's visit and described the dish as paccheri with an oxtail ragu." - Dianne de Guzman

My wife & I walked to this restaurant from our hotel. We had Piccolo Cioppino and Pappardelle with shrimp. It was fanatic dishes to end our night! Very fresh and vibrant flavors. The dessert was very delicious as well. Tiramisu was delicate and the vanilla ice cream that isn’t your normal ice cream! Very light texture and melts in your mouth almost. Peter, the owner of the restaurant, was very warm, attentive and friendly.

The restaurant had a private party the night we went that had rented the whole place but they still sat us outside and were very attentive. The pasta was fresh, the portions were perfect and the service was excellent. The owner came and chatted and the other servers also made time to check in. The suggestion for the wine paired well with what we ordered. Would for sure go back next time we’re in town and recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cafe Tiramisu and I can't recommend it enough! I was lucky to snag a last-minute reservation, and I'm so glad I did. The food was absolutely delicious and drinks, especially the Aperol , which was a delightful surprise. The customer service was exceptional; the staff was attentive and very accommodating. They seated me at a table that perfectly suited my needs, which made the experience even more enjoyable. This charming little restaurant is perfect for a night out with the girls or a cozy date night. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I look forward to visiting again!

Cafe Tiramisu is a gem in the heart of SF! I've been coming here for 20+ years. My favorites are their house made pasta and bread and fresh local fish. Oh and of course their tiramisu is the best! Pino and Giuseppe are the owners (since 1991) and will make you feel like family! We also love sitting outside here and it was kid friendly at lunch time. Enjoy!

As I sit here, just finishing my dinner I have to say DELICIOUS!!! Food was prepared just right. Service was great, really friendly. The atmosphere reminds me of a few restaurants in Italy. Ben fatto a tutti. Grazie

Google
Dined here with family and friends recently. While the food was good, I didn't much care for the treatment of potential guests. While eating I watched as a multi-ethnic couple were denied entry when they didn't have a reservation, but 3 minutes later a Caucasian pair, who also stated that they didn't have a reservation, were seated. Such blatant discrimination was off-putting to say the least, so I won't be back or recommending this place anymore. Especially when there are so many other welcoming and delicious dining options in the area.

Google
A Perfect Dining Experience – 10/10! The atmosphere was authentic, with Italian being spoken all around us. It truly felt like being transported straight to Italy. The space has a sultry warmth almost as if it’s holding secrets from the past. Giuseppe was an exceptional host with a charming personality, and he brought the experience to life. He went above and beyond to make our evening unforgettable, offering thoughtful suggestions and providing impeccable service throughout the night. I had the rabbit, and my girlfriend enjoyed the branzino. This was the perfect setting for a romantic dinner, and we will definitely be returning as our go-to spot in 2025 and beyond. Highly recommend!

The food was absolutely amazing, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier! The portions were generous, and the pasta was cooked to perfection—perfectly al dente and full of flavor. A delightful dining experience from start to finish!

Yelp
Came here with friends because we were in the area and wanted to try a new dinner place! The food was very tasty - we got various kinds of pasta, and I tried a bit of each of my friends'. Each pasta was very unique in flavor but very delicious nonetheless! We also shared the berry crème brûlée, and it was wonderful - not too sweet with delectable berry flavor! The service was also phenomenal, as the waitstaff checked up on us periodically. The seating area is a bit small, but the ambiance is great still! I like the rustic quality of the interior as well as the general vibe :) Overall would definitely come back to try new dishes !

Yelp
Cafe Tiramisu is a charming Italian place serving up special dishes in the heart of financial district. There is an old world charm to the interior and it was packed on that Thursday lunch hour we went. With a reservation, our party of 5 was quickly seated and we ordered mostly pastas. Bread is $7 but worth it. It's a cheesy focaccia that can be shared. All their pasta is homemade and the sauce that accompanied it was very flavorful, even if it took about 25 minutes for it to come out. Linguini vongole was filled with plenty of clams and garlic butter. Our only thing would be that the "crispy chicken" entree on the menu wasn't very crispy (more like roasted). Otherwise, great place for a holiday lunch or work gathering.

Yelp
Restaurant week! I visited with 2 colleagues for a business lunch & were happy that we were able to fit in a restaurant that was participated in Restaurant Week. I made reservations online which required a credit card (for no-shows). For $35, you can choose an appetizer & entree & everyone gets a slice of tiramisu cake for dessert. I'm writing this review 6 hours after I ate lunch & will probably skip dinner because I'm still full. The restaurant was pretty busy, but servicr was very good. I had the burrata which was delicious & had a bite of the beef carpaccio, which was very good. The pappadalle was so good that i devoured every bite. The tiramisu cake was light & fluffy, so we were able to finish our dessert although we were pretty full from our entrees. Service is very efficient & friendly as they are accustomed to the lunchtime crowd in the financial district.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING! I am a Foodie and always looking for an amazing experience and THIS IS IT! You will be welcomed like you are a regular.

Yelp
I'm glad I gave Cafe Tiramisu a try. It's a cute little Italian spot with solid pizza, nice atmosphere, and staff that is both welcoming and slightly abrasive at the same time. It's a bit tricky to find, because it's in an alley off one of the main streets, but that does kind of add to the charm. Be sure to save space for the cheesecake. It's amazing.

Yelp
I am honestly surprised by the less-than 5-star reviews. We had dinner at Cafe Tiramisu tonight while in town for a conference and had the most delicious meal. We were a party of 6 with one vegan, and everyone loved their food. All of their pasta is homemade. Service was top-notch! This will definitely be one of our go-to restaurants whenever we are in San Francisco again. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
I read the reviews after visiting this establishment and don't agree with the pricing issues. I believe it's actually prices well and yea some of the portions are smaller but still delicious and good. Owners are friendly and service is great even on a busy night

Yelp
This place does the job if you're looking for Italian food and happen to be nearby. I had the Pappardelle with (I think it was pork and beef) ragu. It was not very flavorful, but it checks the box. The pasta was also a little soft, but it also checks the box. Same with the glass of wine I had with the food and the tiramisu dessert (it could have used some coffee liqueur and one more layer of ladyfingers). Essentially, this is not a place to go if you're looking for stronger flavors and textures, but it checks the box and is great if you especially want to avoid sodium in your diet. P.S. The table next to me offered me a bite of their pizza, though, and it was actually pretty terrible... I wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
Good American Italian food but just nothing out of the ordinary. I've eaten there twice since my in-laws love the place. First meal was a branzino fillet which was good but not worth the price. Second time was a good Bolognese pappardelle pasta.

Yelp
Dinner last night with a party of 12 was a blast. Be sure to make a reservation if you have a larger party. The food was great. I had the spicy angel hair lobster which was fantastic and a pretty big portion. Also make sure to try the octopus! Service was great and we always had a heavy pour on the drinks. The cafe is super tucked back and had a great vibe

Yelp
We had a reservation at Cafe Tiramisu for 6:30 PM, but unfortunately, there was a parade happening nearby, making parking difficult. Wanting to be courteous, I called the restaurant to give them a heads-up that we might be a little late. From the moment the call was answered, I was met with the most unprofessional and downright rude service I have ever encountered. Before I could even explain, the person on the other end cut me off, snapping that he "can't advise on where to park." The thing is--I never even asked for parking advice! His dismissive and condescending tone completely threw me off, making what should have been a simple courtesy call incredibly frustrating. At that point, we decided it wasn't worth it and asked to cancel the reservation, only to be yelled at and told that we couldn't cancel. He didn't let me get a word in, wouldn't listen, and handled the entire situation in the worst way possible. After reading other reviews mentioning a rude man on the phone, I can't help but wonder if it's the same person. Based on this experience alone, I wouldn't even bother trying to dine here again. Customer service matters, and this place clearly doesn't value it.

Yelp
Feels like I stepped into a family restaurant in Italy. Lovely ambience and food. Wish I had a bigger stomach. The balsamic is incredible and made just for the restaurant; a must try.

Yelp
A must visit while in San Francisco for authentic and well prepared Italian meals. The Pappardelle Bolognese was spot on and Tiramisu truly represented the restaurant's name and quality. Giuseppe and his staff are attentive and really help make the dining experience special I'll will definitely be back soon.

Yelp
Good place to get italian food. My coworkers and I had a reservation after work and were seated immediately when we arrived. We ordered a variety of apps and mains and were really impressed with the grilled octopus, squid ink spaghetti and linguini clams as the portions of seafood were very generous. We also loved the free bread- the seasoning and crunch on the bread was insane. The wines were ok, and rather overpriced for their quality. I would stick to the food. Service was ok. The wait staff were really fast and would take our plates the second we were done eating. Our waiter was attentive to our table but he definitely had a really intense way of engaging with us, not really rude but just very intense, and it caught a few of us off guard considering the price of our meal. Overall, come for the food and don't expect anything more. Food: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Service: 3.5/5

Very good service & excellent fare. We went for a casual team lunch and had a nice time. Great service staff - thank you!! Sorry pix were after we all messed our plates! LOL

Yelp
We stopped here after spending the day in Napa and weren't disappointed at all - the food was fresh, made to order and the service was excellent, very attentive and ensured we enjoyed each course. Everything we ordered was delicious down to the desserts which were absolutely decadent. The atmosphere was that of a small cafe in Italy with both indoor and outdoor seating. Highly suggest checking it out

Yelp
Decided to plan a last minute with colleagues during the first day on a work trip. This location was conveniently closely and Italian was safe option. The interior is rustic and homey with kind staff from the host to our waiter. However, the experience itself was underwhelming and lackluster. The restaurant needs some more upkeep as I noticed their table clothes were still stained... We weren't feeling that hungry for appetizers, so we decided to straight into entrees. The dishes are eye catching, but the taste was satisfactory to a point. My colleague and I shared their pasta, and the waiter was nice enough to split the dish for us in half in separate plates. Yet, I didn't find anything special with the dish. My colleagues liked the place, but it wasn't a strong like. Our waiter did give us bread, but he neglected to tell us that we would be charged for the bread for $7 per portion for the table. The place has charm, but I would explore other restaurants next time.

Yelp
Lovely cafe nestled in the middle of an alley of restaurants. Full service and a full menu of old time favorites from their home to their menu. Their hospitality and service refreshing as we enjoyed their delicious meat PAPPARDELLE and seafood spaghetti niro, bright red sauce accenting sauteed blacken noodles of tasty shrimp, calamari, clams, and mussels abundantly encircled the plate - yummie.................. Love to return to try other great dishes.

Yelp
This is not my first time here, and it will not be my last. Service is on point. We had Cesar salad with fresh made dressing, and both of our pasta dishes had freshly made pasta all delicious. For dessert we had tiramisu & an express martini both were perfection! Cheers Antonio for taking excellent care of us.

Yelp
Came here for dinner the other night and this pace was great spot! The staff was super friendly and the food was simply fantastic. I really loved the seafood pasta. It was light, refreshing and was just absolutely perfect for dinner. The portions were pretty large that we had plenty to share. For appetizers, I really loved the mushroom rage. It was a great combination creamy deliciousness that really stood out. Of course for dessert, we had to get the brownie sundae and the tiramisu. The tiramisu was light, fluffy and airy. Absolutely loved it! Cannot wait to come back soon. IG: QueenOfAdventureNYC

Yelp
Came here for lunch. It was a delight that it wasn't too crowded. First time there and the experience was good. I ordered the seafood pasta and it was delish. I would recommend ordering bread with it . I wish I had rime to order dessert but that can be for next time.

Yelp
This gem, in the heart of SF, has an incredible menu consisting of some Italian favorites as well as unique dishes that will blow your mind and taste buds. We started with the "escargot style" lobster. No, this is not lobster stuffed into snail shells, but rather bite sized morsels of tender lobster tucked into several divots within a dish, bathed in garlic buttery goodness. For our second course we shared a Caesar salad and the mixed seafood grill. The mixed seafood grill consists of a perfectly done shrimp, scallop, octopus, and a single bay oyster. While I'm not a fan of oysters, the waiter encouraged me to try it because the smaller bay oysters are much different in taste than the larger sea oysters. He was right, it was really delicious! We split the crab crusted salmon as our entree, perfectly cooked and tasty. The squid ink sauce took this dish to a whole other dimension, simply fabulous in flavor and artistry. Lastly, when you come to Cafe Tiramisu, you can't leave without trying the tiramisu cake. I can honestly say this has to be top rated. So delicious, with succulent lady fingers you can taste the individual flavors in this cake. The ambiance here is traditional Italian, with two separate areas to dine. Inside it's bright and lively with high backed booths and high ceilings. Outdoor seating is available in a cozy covered patio perfect for a date night or small dinner with friends. The weather was chilly, but there were plenty of heaters to keep each table warm. High marks for the service here. Our waiter has been serving here for 27 years! He is passionate about the food, and being from Italy himself, I could tell he really wanted to ensure we had the full experience they offered. He made great suggestions on the menu and dishes that helped us enjoy the meal even more.

Yelp
So delicious! I came here with my boyfriend on a Tuesday night and it was not too packed. We got the rosemary bread, lobster escargot, seafood pasta, and pappardelle. The rosemary bread was fine but the lobster escargot is a must try. I absolutely loved the seafood pasta as well since it came with so much seafood! They did not skimp on it. For dessert, we had to try the tiramisu. It was delicious! Though I wish they gave us a bigger piece. The service was wonderful and we can't wait to go back!

Marcia M.

Yelp
Food amazing! Waiter Tony was incredibly friendly, a real Italian who made it even better. Not fancy in decor but lovely just the same. We both had seafood pasta with clams and muscles.
google avatar

Alisa P.

Yelp
The food was pretty good at this place but it was kinda challenging to choose because the day we came there (it was on a weekend evening) they were not making any pizzas as their owen was broken and also they didn't make gnocchi. So we went with pappardelle and spaghetti nero both of which were fresh and portions were generous. The service was fast and friendly but I was lacking an atmosphere (maybe because we got a table on a terrace). Anyways, it's a decent traditional Italian restaurant, and worth trying out but be aware that the menu doesn't always match what they actually serve.

Yelp
SF restaurant has come to close and it's time to post the $65/person dinner from Cafe tiramisu! Lobster "escargot style": Nice buttery pieces of lobster! Had some sort of bread crumbs sprinkled over as well for a nice change in texture Steamed mussels: They were good, but nothing to write home about. The sauce/broth with them was very flavorful Cioppino: Great seafood, none that were "fishy" HOWEVER it tasted very very similar (if not the same) as the sauce/broth that came with the mussels. So a little redundant but nonetheless good flavor. Rack of lamb: We asked for the lamb to be medium rare, but it definitely came out medium (sorry no money shot). My not so picky boyfriend still ate it up and loved the asparagus that came with it. The lamb itself was alright flavor wise. Caprese cake: The cake was decent and my boyfriend was a big fan as it "wasn't too sweet." Maybe a tad dry, which may be how it's supposed to be, but I wouldn't know (so take my opinion with a grain of salt). Tiramisu: At long last, the dessert that the restaurant is named after. I will admit it is definitely one of the better tiramisus I've had. the mascarpone was so fluffy and light and I liked that there was a decent layer of the lady fingers that didn't get completely overtaken by the mascarpone (although hard to see in the picture). I thought the flavors were very well balanced, not overpowering in any way. Overall, the restaurant wasn't too bad and had good tasting food BUT I'm not sure I'd come back without the discounted/prix fixe menu price.

Yelp
Love this place! The food is amazing, the service outstanding and they still have white tablecloths on the tables, A dying tradition that I love so much. I'm tired of the trendy sticky wood top tables. They never feel clean. Everything on the menu is good and I especially love the Arugula salad with apples and goat cheese! You won't be disappointed. P

Yelp
Tony, our server, has been so outgoing, inviting, and smiling. I think that's what makes the experience in Cafe Tiramisu so amazing. He helped us get a Polaroid photo with friends and he shared his experience with Polaroid in his younger days. It was nice to connect with someone who has camera experience. For lunch, we decided to use the main menu. We originally came for the SF Restaurant Week $30 lunch menu, but we decided not to. There are more options in the main menu than the SF Restaurant Week menu. The cheese and spinach ravioli was so good. The texture melts in your mouth and I was stunned. The parking can be tricky. On a Friday, it was crowded. Unfortunately my car had a scratch on the side, so just stay safe as you look for parking. The lunch time we went was not crowded and we booked a table in advance. The interior reminds me of the travels I had in Italy. It has an old, festive style. I like how there is a natural light from above. It makes a nice environment for people to enjoy. Thank you once again for your amazing service. To Tony, if you can add in some Italian music in the background, that would be fantastic!

Yelp
Came back here because my partner wanted to try it out and we ended up having a lovely time. The man who served us was super friendly and the staff helping him always checked in on us as well. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen but it took a very long time to get appetizers and then the entrees and then dessert. **Arugula Salad** A small portion but still enough for two to try as an app. I wish there was a little more dressing but we enjoyed this salad. The salad had apples, goat cheese, walnuts, and was tossed in a vinaigrette. **Spaghetti and Prawns** Made with angel hair! This dish has such delicate pasta that just hugs all the sauce. It was VERY delicious and I'm sad that it eventually had to come to an end. **Papardelle w/ Bolognese** My partner got this one and he loooooved it. The sauce was meaty and savory. He gave me a bite and indeed it was delicious! **Ricotta Cheesecake w/ Berries** Yum! Doesn't have a graham cracker crust but it was lovely and my partner's "I'm just gonna have two bites" turned into devouring the entite thing with me. Haha.

Yelp
Uuum I have a mixed feeling about this place..... My husband and I always like to take advantage of the San Francisco Restaurant week. We usually would pick one or two restaurants that we never went to and see if it's worth going back. Yelp has some good reviews with the Cafe Tiramisu. My husband loves pasta. Since we just returned from traveling to Singapore for almost 3 months, I know he misses the pasta so he picked this one. When we arrived, a tall gentleman offered us an outdoor table. I turned it down and I told him that I preferred sitting inside. He was kind to offer to turn on the "heater". I did not want to waste his time to tell him that I have a "phobia" about bugs. Ok I am not imagining things. I got bit in Lake Tahoe, Hawaii, Europe and Asia. My allergic reaction was so bad that sometimes I ended up in the ER or urgent care. I do have bug guard now but why risk it? When we got seated inside the restaurant, the place was older style which I love! We were seated in a booth. Another wait staff (I could tell he's either the manager or the owner) brought a regular menu over. I was surprised! Usually the participating restaurants always give us both menus so that we could pick some items from both menu. When I asked him for the restaurant week menu, he did but I could tell he was not happy - as much as he tried, I could tell he's definitely not happy with me! He made me feel unease - I never ran into any wait staff to be that unpleasant! I wonder if he's not happy about the menu we asked for, or we did not spend enough money since I don't drink? Oh well, I was still trying to be myself, being friendly regardless! As to the food, my husband and I both had the mixed seafood grill as appetizers. They were seared, my husband is always paranoid about undercook seafood (he definitely does not like sashimi- even when we were in Japan!). The seafood was not bad, it had a shrimp, octopus and fish. I liked the octopus the most and was thinking about going back to order a whole one next time - if we go back.... The wait staff also told me that they charged for the bread. I am not a bread person but my hubby loves bread so of course, we ordered and it was delicious, my hubby loved it very much! Main course I had the cioppino, it was only ok, I had much better cioppino before. However, my husband had this pappardelle al ragu di chingiale with wild boar, it was sooo delicious! The meat was good but the pasta was amazing. I am not a pasta fan at all but this pasta dish was just scrumptious! My husband thinks that the pasta must be made in the kitchen, hence so fresh! We shared the 2 desserts they offered - tiramisu and affogato. Both of them were exceptionally good as well! If I did not feel that uncomfortable with our wait staff, I would go back to order the pasta, desserts, octopus and something else on the regular menu next week!

Yelp
Wonderful lunch by the office Lovely host, who was super fun and welcoming As for food...I will just make one recommendation: Spaghetti Nero (squid ink) with calamari, scallops, spicy prawns, and lobster sauce, was absolutely delicious. Just be careful and not get any of the sauce on your white shirt! Come here for a casual and fast business lunch. You'll get a taste of Europe. There are seats outside and inside the restaurant. Service is super fast because they know everyone is on a time crunch.

Yelp
By far, the BEST restaurant with have been to in San Francisco. The bread alone is worth the trip, and the service is even better! Thank you for a memorable dinner!

Yelp
Amazing service and Italian food! Small spot near Union Square and Financial District.

Yelp
As a fifth generation San Francisco native, of Italian descent, I can honestly say, this is the most authentic cuisine in San Francisco. The service is impeccable, all the things you could want magically appear before you ask. The ambiance is understated, well thought out, perfect noise level, feels like home. If you're a professional diner, just ask them to drive the bus, don't even bother with the menu. You will never leave here disappointed.

Yelp
Maxing food! I love their steak, pasta, drinks and dessert! Everything is amazing. You can't pass this place up if you're near it. I highly, highly recommend!

Yelp
Excellent food and great atmosphere. Pino makes the experience phenomenal. If you want to experience a traditional San Francisco experience with authentic Italian food, there is no better place. They truly value their patrons, and I appreciate being recognized as a regular among the staff. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Made a reservation for 7 for lunch, and the process was simple. They called to confirm the day of and asked if we wanted to dine indoors or outdoors. We chose outdoors to be safe, and our table was ready for us at our reservation time. This was a work meal that we were welcoming a couple new folks to the team plus a visitor from another office. We all had a great time here as the servers had an amazing sense of humor! Downside was that no one asked if we wanted to order any drinks, but that was probably better for my wallet. Anyways, we tried the following - Fried Halibut Cheeks - pretty good! Small amount per order so we got 2 of these and everyone was able to have 1 - 2 pieces. Perfectly fried, juicy, etc. Lobster Escargot Style - comes in one of those plates with 6 or 7 small thingys for escargot, but instead are lobster pieces. A bit on the salty side, otherwise good. Ahi Tuna Tartare - Pretty standard tuna tartare, always a good option if you like that stuff. Delicious, smooth. Pizza Bread - always a fun option for a large party. Helps with "cleaning up" the sauces and other items from other appetizers with this bread! Cioppino - ah, a nice seafood stew. Very light and refreshing, a bit on the salty side. Comes with some clams, fish, a shrimp, and more. Nice broth. Linguini Clams - wow, this pasta dish looked amazing. It had a good number of clams with it, and tasted very fresh! Yum!! Ravioli - I love stuffed pasta. This was good too. I see a trend that this place has pretty good pasta. Lamb Chops - comes with 3. Delicious too. Nicely cooked; they ask for which temperature and they delivered. Pork Chop - one large pork chop with some other stuff on the plate. Juicy, delicious from what I hear. Tiramisu - Yum, one of my fave desserts. Bomboloni - small donut/cream puffs. Creme Brulee - always a good option. Nice tap tap layer on top. Affogato - omg yum. Overall we had a wonderful time here, and we'd definitely come back! Pricey, but fun!

Yelp
Cafe tiramisu never disappoints! From their food to service, I always leave here very happy and full. For the appetizers, we ordered their lobster escargot - which is a must try. The lobster is so well seasoned and the garlic butter is to die for! Pro tip: order a side of their delicious bread and dip with the garlic butter. We also ordered the burrata, which was also very tasty, fresh and shareable. For the main course, I ordered their Truffle Gnocchi. The sauce had so much flavor and you could definitely taste the truffle. The gnocchi was light and pillowy, which made it such an enjoyable dish all around. As far as seating, they offer both indoor and outdoor seating options. My recommendation is to sit indoors to enjoy the rustic charm of this place.

Yelp
I went to Cafe Tiramisu to celebrate a friend's birthday. The service was great and the employees were very kind (and funny)! The space itself is quaint and a nice enough. I ordered an espresso martini which was... alright. The appetizers were just alright too. Honestly, I was not really blown away by the food. I tried a little bit of everything and it was all pretty blah. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service immensely though, so shout out to the wait staff and bussers at Cafe Tiramisu!

Yelp
Came here with my daughter before a concert at the Masonic. It was a Sun and it was quiet. We got excellent services and the food was good. Cacio e Pepe was a bit too salty I thought.

we came for restaurant week. our reservation was initially at 8, but they graciously let us come in early at around 7:15. we were seated in a tented outdoor patio, but it still felt quite warm due to the space heaters. the owner(?) was around a lot of the tables just talking to customers, giving tips, and overall very friendly. lobster escargot: 4/5 it was nice and buttery but the lobster was a tiny bit over cooked and very small portion sizes mussels: 5/5 felt more worth it since there was more mussels and also the sauce. flavor was really good "pizza" bread: 5/5 definitely recommend getting this add on as there were lots of things that we could dip the bread in (mussels sauce, lobster escargot oil) raw bar: 3/5 it comprised of 4 small oysters and 2 shrimp. they were good but probably not worth it for the price pappardelle: 3/5 not really a fan of this dish. the noodles were kind of over cooked and soft and there really wasn't much flavor to it prime rib: 5/5 i ordered medium rare and the steak was cooked to perfection. i thought the steak was perfectly seasoned and the sauce and creamed spinach really helped the overall presentation and taste. i basically licked the plate as i did not want to waste a single bit. caprese cake: 3.5/5 basically like a chocolate cake but not as rich and had nuts. it was good at first but then the texture of the nuts and flourless cake kind of threw me off tiramisu: 5/5 expected this to be good due to the restaurant name and did not disappoint. perfect tiramisu, did not have a super strong alcohol flavor like i've seen from other places. overall, we thought the price for restaurant week (65 dollars base) was worth it depending on the dishes you got. mussels, prime rib, and tiramisu with the bread add on is a good combination.

Yelp
Took my family on a Saturday night, including my parents who were visiting from out of town. We had an absolutely top rate experience - the food, the service, the pace of the meal, the wine - everything was outstanding. Our server, Tony, was knowledgeable and warm, and added to our family's enjoyment of the evening. The bread and warm olives to start were amazing. The grilled octopus and lobster escargot style starters were outrageous. And all of the pastas and mains were equally well prepared and delicious - e.g., pappardelle bolognese, spaghetti nero, cioppino, pumpkin ravioli, spaghetti in lobster sauce. We live in the City (Sunset) and will definitely be returning. A fun outing to Union Square and downtown, and an amazing meal and experience.

Yelp
My husband, daughter and I had the most amazing dinner at Cafe Tiramisu on Saturday night. Everything we ate was 5 star, truly some of the best authentic Italian food we've ever had. The lamb with mint pesto was especially delicious. We also had the linguine vongole, pappardelle, affogato, cannoli, and tiramsu, everything was so, so good! The owner imports his own family's olive oil and balsamic vinegar from Italy, both were to die for, we wanted to buy and take a case home of each. I haven't tasted such quality since I was in Italy. Do not pass up the chance to have a meal here, you'll be missing out on something special.

Yelp
What a great restaurant, dining here on the patio was reminiscent of eating somewhere in France or Italy on the terrace. Great service. I really appreciate how attentive they were to our table. We had a group of about 10. Ordered multiple appetizers, including: octopus and avocado, lobster escargot style, and carpaccio. For dinner I had the spaghetti nero, which was freshly made spaghetti with squid ink and seafood (clams, mussels, bay scallops and a couple shrimp). Others at the table had the cioppino, which had a similar red sauce to the spaghetti nero. Both were great. I'd definitely return to this place, great ambiance, very friendly staff and good food.

Yelp
Went here for a birthday dinner on a Saturday night, some how we were seated outside with the rest of the folks who don't come there regularly or don't look Italian enough to be allowed in idk. There were plenty of seats for us inside btw. Anyways after getting seated outside on a 15 degree slanted table on a chilly night with a busted up but working heat lamp. After like 10 mins we finally ordered our food which was on time after that and was delicious. 4 stars on the food! Portion sizes will definitely have you wanting a little more like their desserts. Our group ordered lamb chops (3 pieces per serving ), ravioli (5 pieces per serving) and spaghetti (about a cup full). Appetizers were delicious too. I gave it a three for the poor quality of service. We ordered a few things but never got them, exp. an espresso, one table gets it but they said they claim to have bad milk but honestly he forgot and proceeded to politely feed me false information smh. We didn't want to stay there any longer then needed so we left without dessert. Chinatown is next door plenty there!

Yelp
This restaurant is such a hidden gem that I'm so surprised I've never been here before. The atmosphere takes you to a whole different world and provides authentic food. My friends and I were welcomed very nicely by the staff. We were also greeted by the owner who was super friendly and nice to our table. The service came out really quickly and we did not have to wait at all. We all ordered different things, but I ordered the PAPPARDELLE and we all agreed our food was very delicious. And plus I wasn't able to finish it all there, so I took it home and the next day when I heated up the food it tasted JUST as good as the day I ate it which I was surprised of. After our food we ordered desert and of course had the Tiramisu which was very delicious. I will definitely come back and recommend to anyone to come here to try something hidden in SF.

Yelp
Great little Italian place in a cute little alley full of restaurants. Authentic Italian with wonderful homemade pasta, delicious bread, Caesar salad and of course tiramisu. Also the best service ever, making you feel so special and taken care of when you're there. Definitely a place worth returning to.

Yelp
Great food and great service! The food was amazing! Didnt even get a chance to take pics. To start we had the burrata and bread which was super tasty and fresh. For my main I had the Pappardelle and it was great! I enjoyed it. My coworker had the steak and he was a huge fan.
