San Diego’s Best Brunch Restaurants | Eater San Diego

"This all-day cafe has become an easy weekend choice for locals and travelers in Carlsbad. Coffee drinks like the Hawaiian Express with Ghirardelli chocolate and coconut milk or the lavender mocha kick the morning off properly. Eggs Benedict, breakfast sandwiches and burritos, and scrambles all make the menu, while sweeter, griddled things like French toast and pancakes have a section, too. Lunch may include the roasted garlic burger, “crack salad” with tri-tip, or grilled or battered fish tacos. Don’t leave without ordering “Mom’s famous cinny roll,” a cinnamon roll heaped with icing that can be made “dirty” (given an extra extravagant layer of frosting) for $2 more." - Roxana Becerril

Stopped into Café Topes based off of the recommendation, and we were so happy that we stopped in. We started off with a dirty cinnamon bun and then moved on to lunch. Everything was very flavorful. We actually couldn’t even finish the three tacos. There was so much food.

Divine breakfast food! My friend suggested we try this popular restaurant down the street from her hotel while we were in town. There was a long line outside on a Thursday morning and it was moving pretty slow. They have a large menu selection and everything on it looks good. We were drooling standing in line to order and watching all the delicious looking dishes being delivered to the other customers at their tables. You order at the counter with the friendly staff and are given a number stand. Open seating and there is lots of it inside and outside. A popular item was their giant cinnamon buns and it was so good! Fluffy and not too sweet. I ordered the chilaquiles and it was good too though I wish the salsa was thicker. My tortilla chips were drowning and getting soggy. My friend who ordered the grilled cheese sandwich said it looked good but fell short. She claimed it was a bit too sweet. Another friend ordered the omelet and loved it. The pancake was fluffy and perfectly cooked.

A great brunch spot! The food and drinks were incredible - would definitely recommend insanely large cinnamon scroll! We went on the weekend and had to park a couple blocks away and wait in line but it was definitely worth it. Trendy indoor and outdoor spaces and bustling vibe.

Visited Cafe Topes for breakfast on a Friday morning, and it was a pleasant experience! The place wasn’t too crowded, which made for a relaxed vibe. I ordered the Crack’n Eggs, and they nailed it; eggs were perfectly over-easy, the potatoes were well-seasoned, and the crack was tender and cooked just right at medium. My wife got the Classic Benedict; one egg was spot-on, but the other was slightly off. The country ham was super thick and hearty, though we prefer thinner Canadian bacon. Still, it was good quality. The Bloody Mary was a miss for her, hard to pinpoint why, but maybe the wine-based vodka or lack of that rich, tomato-y kick we love. On the plus side, they handled my wife’s shellfish allergy with care, and she had no issues after the meal. Bathrooms were clean and nice, with two unisex options. The water setup was, let me say, different; the pipe looks like it comes from the roof, so jokingly, I felt like I was drinking roof water! It tasted fine, though, and seemed well-filtered. Overall, solid spot with great food we’d come back!

The staff here is exceptionally friendly and eager to accommodate your needs, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The simplicity of the place adds to its charm, making it a comforting spot to enjoy a meal. The toasted avocado dish is rich and flavorful, while the Greek yogurt is thick and satisfying, together making for a hearty and filling experience that leaves you feeling pleasantly satisfied.

Google
Food was ok. Nice ambiance. We sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine. My avocado toast had too much balsamic glaze and was too sweet for my taste. But the other food was ok.

Google
Okay, so, this place was GOOD good. It was poppin', which is a great sign, but despite how busy it was, the service was super fast and totally on point. The food was positively sublime, with perfect runny eggs on my benedict and a side of fruit that was actually fruit you want to eat. The standard menu is already phenomenal, but the specials were also a fun surprise and sounded incredible. Basically, Cafe Topes knows what they are doing, and I am here for it. ❤️

Google
It has been a while since I last stopped at this cute cafe. Had the chilaquiles with steak and protein pancakes. What a great combination? Absolutely loved them. A new favorite.

Yelp
The food is outstanding. This place is always full and a line at the door. We got lucky and beat the rush. Place is clean but a bit small.

Yelp
This is an excellent breakfast/brunch place, and I'm guessing lunch is just as good. You order at the counter and then grab a table, inside or on the wraparound outdoor patio. It's extremely casual so come as you are. Gourmet coffee drinks? They got 'em. The iced horchata drink, whatever it's proper name may be, is very good, in particular. Fancy and very delicious breakfast food ? You bet. The French toast is phenomenal. It's hearty and sweet and incredible. I am a chilaquiles fiend but was very disappointed with the dish here mainly because the chips became very mushy very quickly. The fantastic texture and crunch from the chips does not exist here . The add-on of Cardiff crack (i.e., tri-tip) was good, although undercooked. Moving on, the Hot Honey Ricotta Egg Toast (on special) was fantastic. The bread was delicious and, though the hot honey wasn't spicy at all, this breakfast creation--with avocado, ricotta and amazingly soft and creamy scrambled eggs--was wonderful. If you see this dish on the wall board, get it. The presentation of each dish was terrific. There is a lot of care involved with these dishes. Free street parking everywhere. I could easily return here many times to enjoy the rest of the menu.

Yelp
I came here for brunch on Sunday and it was delicious! I highly recommend! I ordered a cinnamon roll with the classic scramble (3 eggs and toast w breakfast meat and potatoes-specifically hashbrowns) and my boyfriend got the classic breakfast burrito. I have to say this place blew me away. Service was great, food was better. The cinnamon roll is to die for! I'll be coming back for sure. Hashbrowns were also good but next time I'll be ordering the seasoned potatoes!
google avatar

Yelp
Best cinnamon roll I've ever had! The salted caramel latte and avacado toast was delicious, too. Tip: Arrive early in the morning as the line is out the door and tables fill up.

Yelp
I have been going to this place since high school and it hits every single time. The weekend crowd was not too bad (there was a line out of the door, but still plenty of seating in the sun!). I always enjoy the beachside vibes of it all. Once you order, you find your seats and the food is brought out to you. My MUST is the French toast every single time - I don't think I've ever had one that beats this. With fresh fruit, butter, and syrup, the toast is an explosion of savory flavors that I miss already. Super nostalgic and just as good as high school :,)

Yelp
Triple bookmark it! If you are driving on 5 South toward SD and in Carlsbad area and hear your belly making hungry sounds And it is brunch time, you need to come here! It is a very cozy restaurant with pretty and simple interior. But the food and its flavors is anything simple! They make the most delicious Lattes! It is way too pretty to drink! Their breakfast dishes (eggs, potatoe and susage) is delicious and to die for. The service can be more friendly. This is something the manager needs to be coaching their staff on. Bookmark it!!!!!

Yelp
We were getting our vehicle serviced and had a few hours to crush before our car would be ready. We wanted to grab breakfast before exploring Carlsbad and the menu + cafe vibes caught my attention. Didn't hurt that it was near Carlsbad Village and the beach, so it was great to grab a bite and then get a few steps in. Upon arrival, the corner shop was bustling with patrons inside and in their outdoor patio/seating areas. Lines were out the door, but they had plenty of menus available to view while you wait and it moved pretty quickly. While waiting, a few tables opened up and husband was able to snag a seat inside right by the windows. Got to enjoy the sun without the chill of the crisp air. Husband decided to go with the Crack n Eggs and I had to give their famed Cinnamon Rolls a try with their french toast version. For the Crack n Eggs, they ask how you like your steak to be cooked (rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, well) and your choice of side(s). These are served with choice of toast (wheat, sourdough, rye) and side of hash browns or seasoned potatoes. Hubby really loved the sourdough! The Cinnamon Roll French Toast was topped with fresh berries and cream cheese drizzle. I loved how it was not too sweet and the cinnamon wasn't overwhelming. It was quite balanced and the portion was a bit much for me. However, everything was quite delicious and understand why it's a popular spot.

Yelp
Fantastic mid-morning spot. Easy to find street parking. Line moved quickly. The heirloom tomato's on this menu item were beautiful, plump and flavorful. The balsamic glaze ties everything together with the perfect amount of saltiness. Bacon cooked to perfection and generous portion as an add on. Service was very prompt and pleasant. Everything was delicious and plentiful.

Yelp
Loved this place but jus a warning, breakfast ain't no joke, it's packed at that time! The BLT is worth the price and the side salad was a fav too! The ambiance is pretty chill but it is on a busy street and pretty lively on this corner. If you like crowds I would come here but more so for the food! Very fresh ingredients and jus delicious!

Yelp
Nice little find. The outside seating area could have used a little freshening up. Ground was a bit dirty. Paint on fence needed touching up. Loved the umbrellas and vibes. Dog bowls provided for fur babies. I didn't like waiting to place my order at counter. Probably because the lady taking our order was just a little too extra for me. Not super friendly or helpful. I think if you came here often enough you would understand the process, but for a first timer, it just didn't flow. We sat outside and enjoyed a Bellini and quick bite before heading back home. The breakfast burrito was filling but nothing earth shattering. It's clearly a popular place. I think it's a solid 4. With coming back if ever in the area.

Yelp
Clean airy space with tables inside and out. I appreciated that the line moved quickly and staff were working really hard to get the tables clean for the next groups. Also shoutout to the person at the register who recommended one of the toast specials! The food was really good with just some minor hiccups, including underripe bananas in my pancakes and the coconut milk in my coffee going off. On a different day would have been 5 stars for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
Really enjoyed it! Even though there was a big line it went really quickly. The service was great and it's a cute little cafe. My chilaquiles were amazing. Would go back again.

Yelp
It's just around the corner from Carlsbad Village Dr, across the street from the Boys and Girls Club. It's not just a coffee spot but a nice place for a breakfast, or lunch. Portions are generous. Most of the seating is outdoors on the side patio or in front, with some limited seating indoors. We had a group of 7 people and were able to get our order in and get served fairly quickly. Our orders ranged from pancakes to eggs to oatmeal and breakfast burrito everyone was satisfied. This is a great option if you are in the Village and looking for something healthy to eat. And bonus-- the Barrio Glassworks open studio is right across the street.

Yelp
Lovely experience. Ambiance is bright and open. Food presentation is exceptional and the flavor of the dishes does not disappoint.

Yelp
Bustling brunch spot in Carlsbad! I came by Cafe Topes after finishing a glass blowing class around the corner. I had never been before but my friend said it was good - She was definitely right! They have a fun mix of classic brunch items (e.g. scrambles, egg sandwiches, pancakes) and unique food items/speciality lattes (the blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes we're calling my name, but maybe next time). I ended up ordering the Chorizo Benedict with hashbrowns. I enjoyed them but would mix it up next time since literally everything on the menu looked delicious. The line to order was pretty long when we went, but it went quickly and gave me time to peruse the menu. Didn't have any trouble finding a seat outside either. The restaurant itself is very cute and clean. Would return - Maybe for those blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes ;)

Yelp
You can get eggs any style (poached, fried, scrambled) just not as an omelette ‍. It's like saying you are unable to serve water in a coffee cup. Food was decent. Coffee was ok Staff needs to be educated on basic culinary techniques.

Yelp
Carlsbad, CA Order at the counter, food is brought out to self seated patio or indoor self seating. * Prices pictured on existing Yelp photos are not accurate. I forgot to take a picture of the menu. Long lines and a popular spot, tucked away in a mixed use residential neighborhood. Street parking. Coffee, even though Stumptown was average at best. The first cup came with grounds in it but the second cup was replaced per request and was better. We got a cup to go and I only took a few sips and tossed it. As a preface, I am super picky about breakfast because I feel I can almost make anything better than what I can get in a restaurant, and I am often disappointed, so my review may be overly critical. We have not eaten out for breakfast in a long time so this was a rarity. Crack Breakfast Burrito...eggs, steak, cheese potatoes...around $17 Steak was tender, chips and salsa were good. Forgot to ask for it not cut but whole and wrapped in foil or paper. The potatoes, especially on the side of the eggs benedict were fantastic. My husband enjoyed the Crack eggs benedict with steak, around the same price as the burrito, I took a bite and was not interested in another, although he enjoyed it. Overall, breakfast was pretty good. There is another breakfast burrito place in the area that I wanted to try, but I went with the request of my better half to try this spot for the first time while we were in the area. The breakfast satisfied, although my husband enjoyed this more than I. Pleasant and adequate service, they come to your table once to deliver the food and not again unless flagged down.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for years every time I'm in town but the long line outside often drove me away. We finally decided to go before the breakfast crowd, still waited quite awhile to order, and happy we did as I enjoyed it and would go back. I got the spicy chorizo eggs Benedict. It had tons of flavor but I felt that the chorizos overpowered the eggs Benedict dish itself, and mainly tasted of that rather than the eggs Benedict. However it was yummy and the portion was generous which I appreciated as I got two meals out of it. The crispy potatoes on the side were also delicious and the perfect side to complement the dish. I loveddd my boyfriend's gravy breakfast burrito which was huge and packed with flavor. I think their gravy was delicious and paired well with the burrito itself. The hibiscus tea was not my favorite as it was incredibly bitter and needed some sort of liquid sugar rather than the packets on the table that didn't seem to dissolve. We did love that it was bottomless but the tart tea wasn't our favorite. While the line to order took about 30 minutes for a couple of parties, we were able to find a table after ordering and beat the massive crowd.

Yelp
This little cafe serves an awesome breakfast and has excellent service. Came in on a semi busy and rainy Friday and were able to find seat right after we ordered. The food came out quickly and was delicious.

Yelp
I've eaten here several times and never had a bad meal. Food is made to order. You might see a line out the door but it is worth the wait. Very good food and service is good.

Yelp
So! Freaking! Good! Will definitely be back next time we're here! The staff was super friendly and helpful with menu options! It's open friendly so if you love your pets feel free to bring them! My husband ordered the Good toast with crack..he was obsessed and he's not a breakfast person! He ate the whole plate and was bummed we were leaving town today because he wants to eat here again! I ordered the egg scramble with bacon and topped with avocado. I got the seasoned potatoes (order them crispy!) and sourdough toast. Their berry jam was so good and tasted homemade and fresh! We got cups of coffee and then ordered coffee to go! A caramel cappuccino and their winter latte with oat milk! Seriously so good and so happy I found this place! They have a very cute out door patio with beach's umbrellas for plenty of shade! Loved this place! Thank you for a great experience and amazing food!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is great!! First, the staff is super friendly and helpful, next, the menu is interesting and the food is good and the restaurant is cool with indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the counter first then they give you a number and bring your food to you. Their coffee drinks are fab - the milk is extra whipped! The portions are big. Definitely worth trying for brunch/ lunch!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a Carlsbad locals staple! Everytime I have someone visit me from out of town I take them here for breakfast. The vibes are so cute and quaint. I think after 10am they start playing music in the patio and it is just such a fun cute brunch setting. The drivers bring out your food to your table and water is self serve. To order, you'll have to wait in line. And after 9am it wraps around the corner. But everytime I've gone I've never had an issue finding a table. The food is all local bought or grown, so supporting this place is supporting a lot of other local vendors as well. Love this place, if you're looking for a good casual place to eat, look no further.

Yelp
I have been here 3 or 4 times now, but only tried the cinnamon roll, dirty style. It is by far the best cinnamon roll that I have ever had and I have tried them all over the United States. It is gigantic, but it is delicious. The cream cheese frosting is outstanding, sweet, creamy. The roll itself is moist and tender, not stale, dry, and crusty like so many other places. The roll fills a large to go container, that is how large it is. It is so good that I could eat it all in one sitting. If you want the best cinnamon roll, go there and wait in the long lines, it is worth it. Hopefully they are not sold out before you get through the line. They mentioned that they have a partnership with The Goods donut place, and they do sell some of the donuts there as well. Those are some fantastic donuts.

Yelp
Oh, I love this place. I've been coming here for at least a decade; usually for breakfast. Today, while waiting in line to order a Cardiff Crack sandwich (the Terramar), I noticed several plates of fish and chips going by and decided to order that instead. The fries were fresh-cut and seasoned, and the fish lightly breaded! It was better than Harbor Fish Cafe down on Coast Hwy and even Harbor Fish and Chips in Oceanside Harbor. I have had tacos, Benedicts, pancakes, the cinnamon bun extra dirty, and various hot drinks. Everything is always fresh! They were so sweet to Cali; they gave her a cup of whipped cream and had dog bowls stacked up on the patio for cold water. Pro tip: it is "Order first and pay at the counter", but dogs are allowed inside so you queue with your pup. I have dined indoors, and it's open and airy, but I actually prefer to sit on the patio or out front. The ambience and decor are so relaxing there versus the slight chaos inside. This place used to be pricey, but now it's surprisingly par for the course. Overall, I will be back; I still want that sandwich! Pros: - dog-friendly - polite employees - menu options - food presentation - spacious restrooms (your dog can join you) Cons: - parking sucks - gets very crowded; seating is sometimes hard to find

Yelp
So glad my friend introduced me to this place, I had no idea it even existed. I've been missing out! Seriously loved it for the atmosphere & food. I ordered the rustic without cheese & house potatoes & house cinnamon roll on the side. Have to say it was worth the cost! Portions were hugeeee and absolutely delicious. Thank god I had someone to share the cinnamon roll with, it was bigger than my face! Can't wait to try some more items.

Yelp
Ambiance is the #1 thing at this place. I asked for two eggs, extra crispy on the bacon. My son ordered French toast based on pictures. I attached a picture. I received double fried potatoes, eggs and bits of bacon together, my son's French toast looked nothing like the pics. I thought coming early we would get better quality of food. Food was mediocre, not bad just expecting a little better considering the price point. But, cute place inside and outside.

Yelp
Tried this place again with a group of moms- it was way better than the first time I went... still order at the counter. Self serve water. Nice patio area.. this time i got BLT
google avatar

Saoimanu S.

Yelp
I didn't find anything outstanding about this place. The food was fine and the drinks, too. But I didn't feel like it was a place I'd take an out-of-towner to while they were in the area. Someone mentioned that there isn't much direction for first-timers in their room. I agree. I was lost and found myself asking more questions than I probably should have. It didn't bother me but I do think it would have made my experience much different had I known what to do when I arrived. Whether that's thanks to signage or the cashier asking if it was my first time there.

Yelp
Love going here from time to time. I stick to the good old Benedict but something caught my eye for next time ( bananas foster pancake) ... The food was phenomenal and the perfect portion, not too much not too little. Let's talk about the orange juice, this is some really good freshly squeezed orange juice, I mean, to die for.

Went here for a quick brunch and the food was delicious! Great customer service and very bright and warm. Just limited seating of course and pretty busy! Would come back!

Yelp
My fellow yelpers really helped me out with this one. After researching Yelp, we decided to find this Cafe and stop for lunch on our way from L.A. to La Jolla. It was the perfect place to stop. It is located in the middle of a residential area on the west side of the 5 freeway in Carlsbad. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was very friendly and helpful. After we told them this was our first time there, they helped us with the menu choices. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The Granola & Yogurt was large with lots of fruit, nuts and honey. The 222 was classic and everything was cooked perfectly. The fish and chips were light and delicious. They were not breaded and fried like the classic type fish and chips. There was enough to share. The house coffee was great as well. There is plenty of street parking and restrooms were clean. This is definitely a locals type place and a great find for those looking for a yummy breakfast or lunch. I noticed they do serve sparkling wines too.
google avatar

Gabi A.

Yelp
What a great place!! We came on a Tuesday for lunch and sat outside. The food was delicious and the prices very reasonable. The side of fries is enough for 3-4 people! My favorite was the salsa they serve (hard to find good salsa)! The staff was so nice and even gave us free donuts because they were closing for the day. It's just a great place to go for a casual and quick lunch. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Mike N.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite breakfast spots! They have great gluten free options, delicious coffee and always have a selection of donuts from The Goods (which is an amazing donut shop (which also has gf options) on State St)! The staff are always family and service is usually pretty quick even when they have a crowd. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and dog friends are welcome. They even provide bowls at the water cooler for the 4 legged patrons. The portions are plentiful and we NORMALLY split but this time we got our own meals. Wifey got the gluten free French toast with berries and I got the Gone to Maui pancakes. We also split the hash browns because why not? The French toast was good and the berries were fresh and delicious! The Gone to Maui cakes hit every bit of my sweet tooth and took me to the islands! Coconut, macadamia nut and fluffy cakes! The hash browns have a nice crisp layer and are definitely enough for 2!

Yelp
Wow! This place was def worth the hype. It's a cute small little breakfast spot on a corner street. Not many tables for eating inside, but there is also outdoor seating. You place your order as soon as you get in and they will give you a number and you find your place to sit. Menu you is simple but lots to choose from and personally thought the prices were great! Waitress, hosts, and chefs were all so friendly! But here's what you really want to know...how was the food? Let's just say I DEVOURED my ENTIRE meal. What we got: - Crack'n Benedict: not only was presentation beautiful but the flavor and the amount of food almost made me cry. I never knew steak in an eggs benedict would be so good. When I ordered they asked how I wanted my meat to be done, I chose medium to be on the safe side but honeslty wish I got a medium rare because they cooked it perfectly! If I'd come back, I'm definitely getting this again! - Bloody Mary: I ordered the Bloody Mary and had the option on making it spicy! Wow! It was delicious and more. Bloody Mary's are always a hit and miss but if you love them, Cafe Topes won't do you wrong. - County Fried Steak: my dad ended up getting this and he said it was pretty good and his eggs were cooked perfectly, runny and not undercooked. He mentioned several times of the presentation on both our meals being great and how good the food was. - Latte: my dad also got a latte and for him being his own brevel barista at home, he enjoyed it. Hawaiian Latte (iced): I ended up getting an iced hawaiian latte to go because I really wanted to try it after seeing some one get it. I'm not much of a coffee girl but this was quite delicious and light. There were many latte options, if I come back again id like to try the Lavender Honey Iced Latte. Overall, I definitely recommend if you're in the area and looking for a good, reasonably priced, breakfast spot.

Yelp
We went here with the family for a quick breakfast. It is a quick service restaurant so you do order 1st and then find a table. We waiting about 20 mins to order food on a Sunday. I got the traditional eggs bennie & it was really good. I do appreciate the thick ham & perfect poached eggs. My boyfriend got the breakfast burrito which he enjoyed. The only thing we didn't care for was there cinnamon roll. It was lacking cinnamon and was more of a cake consistency. Location was not to far from the beach & there is inside and patio seating.

Yelp
I'm leaving this review because I'm honestly disappointed. My boyfriend and I came here excited because people had recommended this place to him and the service was horrible. It was a long line (which I expected if people said this place is good), but there's no organization to this place. As a newcomer, there aren't any workers around letting you know if you have to wait to be seated or you just find whichever table is available. People who barely arrive claim tables before they even start waiting in line leaving jackets or purses and the employees say nothing so as someone who does wait in line and seats themselves you're welcomed to empty tables with random jackets from people 15 spots down the line, horrible. But anyways, there was a family behind us and one of the workers took their order (they cut so many people in line!!) and then he stopped taking orders. I don't know if he knew them but that isn't fair considering all of us in line before them had been waiting a long time already and yet they were able to order and get their food first. Also, the food isn't good either. The potatoes didn't taste fresh, they tasted old and the seasoning on top didn't help either it just tasted like tajin. The country fried steak was okay at best and they forgot to give the English muffins that come with the meal and my bf had to go to the front register to remind them, they weren't even toasted. They even forgot to give utensils and it takes forever to try and get any worker's attention here. I would give this place 0 stars if I could but the eggs Benedict were decent at least.

Yelp
I was excited to try this place, especially based on the reviews. I'll list what I enjoyed first: *Yummy Potatoes *Flavorful Pancakes Here's what I didn't like: *Donuts were directly at the edge of the counter, uncovered, with what looked like "little fingerprints" in the frosting and flies on them. There was also a patron with a HUGE DOG that put its front legs onto the counter to sniff the donuts. I lost my appetite... *The "crack" (tri-tip) definitely lacked flavor, compared to the "crack" at the Seaside Market-where the meat comes from. *The Manho Arnold Palmer didn't taste like it had any mango in it at all. *The syrup is thick and tasted cheap. I definitely don't plan on ever returning. I regret the huge tip I left (I paid at the register when ordering before I got my food).

Yelp
Since initially going to Cafe Topes, I continue to love this little spot! There is a crazy line on the weekends, but I think that is testament to how great this place is! I've tried a few other things off of their menu. I love their strawberries and cream latte. So tasty, and you can't really get anything like it anywhere else! Their specials are always changing, and are always so delicious. The rustic sandwich is also definitely a fav. This will continue to be one of my favorite spots near The Village!

Yelp
This is our go to spot. Food is always amazing and absolutely love their specials. Drinks are always spot on. Can't rave about this place enough. Not to mention they are the sister to our favorite donut spot.

Yelp
Well first go off you place your order in line. Service was quick. Food was a 10/10. I wanted to add avocado and steak. That is for next time. But anyway yesss 10/10

Yelp
Everyone was so sweet here and the food was the bomb. I suggest getting the hot horchata, Topes breakfast, and pancakes! I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
My favorite brunch place ever! There's always a long line but it moves quickly, and I never have trouble finding a table either. The best there here is the blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes, hands down. You get 3 fluffy pancakes topped with the most delicious lemon curd and blueberry jam sauce. They also give you maple syrup on the side but I don't know why you'd ever need it. The sauces are already sweet and flavorful enough. I'm usually not a pancake person at all but the lemon curd makes this taste refreshing and decadent. If you love crab/seafood, I highly recommend the crab scramble or the crab and shrimp Benedict. The crab scramble punches you in the mouth with crab flavor, which is perfect for me. The Benedict is lighter and also comes for 4 huge pieces of Cajun seasoned shrimp - absolutely delicious. I've also tried a lot of other items- t scramble country fried steak, burrata toast, and chilaquiles. All of it is solid. The country fried steak is an incredible deal value-wise, you get so much food for the price. I typically like to try something new but I always go with my staple of blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes.

Yelp
First time coming here to celebrate my baby girl's promotion aka graduation. She loves coming here for their pancakes and I can see why. I tend to prefer savory foods over sweets now that I am older HAHAHA so I ordered their Crack N Benedict (which is 2 egg benedicts with 6oz sirloin steak on top of English muffin with a side of fried potatoes) which was quite savory. My parents ordered the Classic Benedit and Topes Scramble which was quite good. My baby girl ordered their oreo pancake which was quite fluffy and tasty as she didn't need any syrup at all. The rest of my group ordered their ginormous cinnamon bun and blueberry lemon ricotta pancake. Let's just say food was 5 stars. Service was good as well. You can pick up water cups and fill your own water. As a sit down place there isn't anyone checking up on you which is good. So downside if you want more water you will need to get it yourself. Overall interior dining area is quite clean. They also have an outdoor dining area so you can enjoy the fresh Carlsbad ocean breeze. Will come back next time to try their lunch menu items.

Yelp
The food was great and it came out pretty fast! It is a little tight with tables so I can imagine how hard it will be on a busy weekend. I got the 2 eggs with sausage patties and 2 french toasts. I was pleasantly surprised that the french toast came with some whipped cream and fresh fruits! My friend got the same except she got pancakes instead. We both felt that her scrambled eggs did not look like a full 2 eggs though and sadly she did not get any fresh fruit with her pancakes. We did still enjoy the meal and I would come again only if it is not packed

Yelp
Such a Go-To Brunch spot! We were visiting our cousin who lives in the area but has never been here, but that is all going to change moving forward. They agreed that the food was amazing and though the line looked long at first, it went by fast and the food came surprisingly quick too! There's some indoor seating and outdoor seating that's well shaded too. As visitors to Carlsbad, we are so glad to have tried this spot. Chill place to go and we enjoyed every bite of their sweet and savory options.
