Where to Find the Best Halal Restaurants in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"Café Turko’s warm, welcoming ambience is popular among happy families and romantic dates alike. Each night, the dining room fills with lilting, jovial conversations, surrounded by the colorful decor of owner Süreyya Gökeri’s first shop that started it all. Beginning as a gift shop and café, Gökeri’s friend insisted years ago that she should sell her pide and impressive variety of hummus — the rainbow hummus plate showcases Café Turko’s array of spinach, yam, and beet hummuses. Gökeri recommends everyone try the kıymalı pide, a flaky flatbread baked with beef and melted mozzarella, seasoned with sumac and Aleppo peppers, topped with tomatoes and fresh herbs for a pop of color. Beloved by the community, Café Turko has built a prayer room across the service hallway where local taxi drivers and other patrons stop in to pray before they break their fast. Each of Gökeri’s recipes reflect her years of culinary expertise as a cooking instructor for PCC Community Markets. From the bright, savory Turkish Romani yahni stew, to the richly balanced flavors of ali nazik chicken and grilled eggplant sauce paired with sweetly herbaceous rice, no detail is overlooked." - Sabra Boyd

Best Restaurants, Bars, and Breweries Along the Burke-Gilman Trail | Eater Seattle

"One of Fremont’s most popular restaurants, the menu here features terrific mezzes, pita sandwiches, kebabs, and falafel. Located a few blocks from Fremont Brewing (another favorite for those traversing the Burke-Gilman Trail), Café Turko’s rainbow hummus, beyti with eggplant, and pide get consistently high marks. Open for takeout, most of the aforementioned items work well for a lakeside picnic nearby." - Kelly Knickerbocker

The Best Middle Eastern Restaurants in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"The long menu of Turkish specialties has made this one of Fremont’s most popular restaurants. The rainbow hummus, beyti with eggplant, and pide are among the more terrific (and portable) dishes, while the breakfasts are a satisfying alternative to standard diner fare. Vital Breakfast Spots to Know in Seattle, Summer 2019 | Eater Seattle

"Bright, colorful Cafe Turko is excellent any time of day, but its mother-in-law’s breakfast plate (available all day, blessedly) is the star of a menu that also includes several superb Turkish omelets. Naturally, it all pairs well with a Turkish coffee. Bonus: Much of the menu is naturally gluten-free." - Megan Hill

The restaurant is colorful, warm, and spacious. The service is attentive, quick, and helpful. Our Server was so welcoming and happy to recommend her favorites from any section. All of our needs were met and then some. She really added to the lovely experience. The kitchen is incredibly efficient. The food came out at a great pace and it tasted just as delicious as it looked. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful as well. I couldn't recommend Turko Cafe enough. They have a great variety of dishes and flavors. You can bring your meat lovers, vegetarians, and vegan friends with confidence that everyone can find a dish they'll enjoy. I haven't had a chance to truly explore Turkish cuisine and wow, I've been missing out. What a great introduction to a food full of flavors. Also, their baklava is the best I've ever had. I can wait to come back to try more

Such a magical environment! If you’ve never tried Turkish food before, this is the perfect place to start. Everything is fresh and absolutely delicious. I ordered the Suleyman the Second dish—it was incredible, especially the Adana kebab paired with a refreshing Ayran drink. I also had the Kunefe dessert with Turkish tea, and it was the perfect sweet finish. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic, and the staff are super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend! Also, they have nice coffee sets 😍

We were walking by and decided to stop in for some coffee. What a delicious decision. We ended up ordering a Turkish pizza, and the coffee was above our expectations, accompanied by a yummy sweet. The decoration got us right after stepping in, and the staff was very attentive. Another highlight was the cups where our coffee was served, they were beautiful. Everything tasted so good, the experience was really nice and definitively I considered it a must when visiting the area.

Tried this Turkish restaurant because of its convenient location and the variety on its menu. We ordered a lot of food, so here’s my detailed review of some of the items we tried. The appetizer platter is a must it comes with warm pita bread. We ordered muammara, baba ghanoush, cacık, dolma, and hummus. All were delicious, but I especially liked the hint of cinnamon in the dolma. Their pide was tasty, though the “everything pide” was a bit too heavy with multiple kinds of meat. I’d recommend trying some of the other pide options, as the cheese-to-bread ratio was great. The mantı (Turkish dumplings) had a fantastic sauce, but the dough-to-filling ratio wasn’t ideal. Still, I recommend trying it for a different take on dumplings. The beyti and Adana kebab were excellent. I highly recommend the beyti! The Adana kebab was a bit thick and felt more like köfte than kebab, but the side salad was perfectly done and absolutely delicious. I would have preferred a different rice variety since basmati isn’t commonly used in Turkish cuisine, but it was still tasty. Last but not least, the künefe (listed as “Bird’s Nest”) exceeded my expectations. It was clearly handmade, not frozen, and I highly recommend it! However, while the menu listed it as $8, we were charged $12, so keep that in mind. That said, it was well worth more than $8. Overall, the service was great, the food was delicious, and this place offers a wonderful taste of Turkey from miles away!

Great place for dinner, beautiful cultural decorations. Legit Mediterranean food and has a great variety of dishes. Photo-worthy, halal cuisine. The staff are friendly and love to give recommendations. Highly recommend.

The food here was very good and authentic to middle eastern cuisine. We were greeted immediately and sat by the window. The server gave us a few recommendations, of which we took. The Ali Nazik Mania with lamb and chicken is a must. The doner kebab had very fresh bread and lettuce, and it was very refreshing. Highly recommend!

Tl;dr: I ordered Café Turko’s vegan dumplings and received Trader Joe’s non-vegan spinach tortellini. I dined at Café Turko with my family on the afternoon of Saturday, July 12. I ordered “Green Green Mantı”, a vegan dish of dumplings topped with chickpeas and tahini dressing. When my dish arrived, I needed only one bite to know I’d been served meat-filled mantı. I alerted the server of the error, who kindly comped my party the dish and promised to bring me my vegan mantı in 7-8 minutes. About 15 minutes later, my replacement dish arrived. This time I hardly needed to taste the “dumplings” to confirm that I again hadn’t been served vegan mantı. Instead, I’d been served Trader Joe’s spinach tortellini. I would know—I practically lived on TJ’s spinach tortellini my senior year of college. I also know that these tortellini contain three types of cheese and that their dressing was yogurt-based rather than tahini-based as stated on the menu. Furthermore, I know the kitchen staff and the server were all in on this sleight of hand: There’s no mistaking the heirloom-textured, deep-green dumplings of “Green Green Mantı” with the industrially smooth, white and pale green spinach tortellini from Trader Joe’s. It’s disturbing that Café Turko’s vegan dishes aren’t reliably vegan. It’s disappointing that Café Turko’s dumplings are sometimes Trader Joe’s tortellini. But most of all, it’s embarrassing that Café Turko chose dishonesty over all its other options to resolve what probably began as an honest mistake. If the server had told me the kitchen needed extra time to prepare my vegan mantı, I would’ve gladly given them the time they needed and taken advantage of the chance to try another appetizer to tide me over. If the server had told me that the kitchen simply didn’t have the ingredients to make my vegan mantı, I would’ve happily ordered and probably enjoyed another dish. Instead, Café Turko took a gamble on my not being a TJ’s shopper who knows tahini from yogurt. Amateur move.

Everything about this was beautiful! The coffee with chocolate and orange was such a nice touch to the meal. The lamb was so tender and juicy, and the staff there was so kind and welcoming. The decor is colorful and simple. It was a lovely lunch! 😁

Yelp
phenomenal experience! went with a group of colleagues ahead of an evening event in the area. we had vegetarians, lamb-crazy folk and everyone in between in our party; no one left hungry or dissatisfied. we had three starters to share: yam hummus kefir cheese with za'taar muhammara all were amazing and the pita was warm and plentiful. when it came to entrees. i barely had room but i couldn't resist trying the felafel salad which was the perfect size and had great flavors. it was super fresh and had a great combination of ingredients in a lovely pomegranate molasses vinaigrette. others decided to try different salads or entrees but we left commenting how delicious the food was; so delicious that everything put in front of us got eaten too quickly to remember to take photos. i already want to go back! it was definitely a popular fremont dinner destination on a friday night. kids, couples, groups and the wait staff handled everyone with kindness and patience. i don't live in the area but it won't be the last time i eat there. it's a great atmosphere, lots to choose from on the menu and friendly servers. there's also an assortment of turkish sweets and ingredients for purchase!

Yelp
Nicely located next to the Salesforce/Tableau office by the Fremont Troll. Walking distance to lake view and the Fremont bridge. Great selection of appetizers and desserts. Food is standard Mediterranean. Could be crowded sometimes, make sure to make a reservation.

Yelp
The food was good. At initial look it seems pricey but when you consider the amount of time/ seasoning and prep that goes into this cuisine it is average priced. The ambience is so unique really feels like you have been transported into a different world. They weren't that busy but it took so long for us to be able to get our check and order. This is the lamb Beyti Kebab. I like that the wrapping was very thin, not doughy, and crispy and soft at some parts. The lamb itself was a little dry. Wish there was more salad or veges inside the kebab for a well rounded flavor and texture profile as it was very much carnivorous and meaty. Shared this plate between two people and was fairly filling but I don't think I could eat the whole thing because the flavor was fairly one tone/would get bored of it. They did have other dishes that looked good as we saw them brought out to other tables like their wraps so I might try those next time.

Yelp
I was looking forward to trying this place for a while based on reviews and what friends have told me. I'm sad to say I'm a bit disappointed with my dining experience. I'm not sure if I ordered the wrong dishes but the food really lacked flavor. The rose mocktail was very good though and liked the tartness of it! The place is decorated nicely and the staff is friendly. I might come back to try one of their hummuses or something else but the first impression wasn't the best.

Yelp
Super delicious and vibey cafe up in Fremont! I love love the mezze dips they had. They are so bright and colorful, and each one is a unique flavor. They have a few options and each one has 5 - 6 dips to share. The main course I had was good, but I was mainly impressed by the appetizer dips. I don't think I would go back for the mains, but would just go to sit, have a coffee or sweet treat, and some dips to share! The ambiance is really vibrant and colorful. This is definitely a fun spot to share with friends!

Yelp
It's been five years since I visited this restaurant and I can't say enough about this place in Fremont. The atmosphere while eating here is quite lovely. The interior design makes me want to look around and be at awe with the colors, glass, and umbrellas. The food tasted wonderful as I remembered. This round, I wanted to try out one entree through a fellow yelper's review: Falafel My Way Plate and one pida entree, which my friend and I decided to go with Karışık pide (which contain a good amount of meat). To go along with our food, we ordered Arnold in Türkiye, which is half lemonade, half Turkish black tea. The drink was quite refreshing as it was not too sweet and goes along with the carb-focused entrees. The Falafel My Way Plate is a type of dish where all different food component combined makes every bite really enjoyable. Make sure to grab a little bit of rice, a bit of crispy falafel bonbon with hummus, and veggies on your spoon. The pide was great choice too with the amount of meat and cheese for two people. Also, the crust is thin enough to consume as well! Through catching up with my friend and when the food arrived at our table, I felt like it didn't take that long. Seeing everyone being helped around us shows the good service, especially during dinner time. If you're ever in the area, definitely stop by here and go explore around this area afterwards!

Yelp
Sooooooooo amazing!! The restaurant itself inside is absolutely gorgeous and the wait staff is incredible and so accommodating. They have plenty of options for different allergies and diets such as vegan, vegetarian, nut free, egg free and gluten free. And to top it off the food is incredible, you can't go wrong with any option. A lot of the food also has a little homemade twist by the owner. Def reccomend!

Yelp
Price: $$, ~$50 for two Favorites: Beef beyti, aromatic lamb Tip: Ask for hot sauce, it goes well with spice! The food and experience here are simply magical. Walking past an actual piece of the Berlin Wall into an elegant space, complete with ornate umbrellas cascading from the ceiling, sets the scene for an appetizing adventure into warm, soulful Turkish cuisine. The staff was kind, pointing out recommendations and clarifying how things would taste. My friend was visiting from Hawaii and neither of us had tried Turkish food. I'm glad we could share a comforting foray into delectable entrees that left us content. The beyti is rightfully famous. The lavash wraps with tender doner meat and gooey cheese are delightful finger food. Adding a dip into spicy and yogurt sauces only heightens the already tantalizing flavors. But the star for me was the aromatic lamb, with its sweet apricots that beautifully offset the rich spices and nuts. Lamb is my favorite protein across many cuisines and that continues to be the case after my first foray into Turkish food. Fremont is a museum of cultural delicacies and Café Turko paints a delicious part of the mosaic.

Yelp
It had been a while since we visited Cafe Turko and I was really craving some Turkish food so we decided to stop by. My boyfriend ordered the Süleyman the Second, the chicken was juicy, tender and full of flavor. I ordered the Adana kebab and while the meat had enough flavor, the main reason I ordered this dish was for the grilled veggies that were supposed to come with the dish and when I got my plate it only included the meat skewer and the complimentary salad and rice. When I addressed this with the waitress, she was told that the roast veggies were not a part of the dish and that she didn't know why it was listed on the menu. I felt this was misleading and not right for the price that was paid. Overall, the ambiance is pretty, colorful and cozy but the portions are on the smaller side for what you pay for.

Yelp
Fantastic and delicious Turkish food options! The staff were nice and friendly as soon as we walked in, got us a table and recommended some options to start. We started withRainbow hummus plate was good. Gives you different flavors for everyone. Ordered muhamara with it. Also great flavort Cappadocia kofte kebab Ali nazik with lamb is also really good. Highly recommended Great service and experience of Turkish food. If I'm ever back in Seattle I'll definitely stop by again.

Yelp
I so wanted to like this place . However, the disamal service takes away from the overall satisfaction experience. I have been here four times. I ordered Ali Nazik Mania, which was wonderful. Next, Süleyman the Second. Delicious. Grandfather Beyti with Abdullah Sauteé. I love eggplant, so this was a dish I really wanted to try.so good. However, it seems you have to challenge the staff to serve you. I was in i Istanbul. and they seemed pleased that you were there, unfortunately, at Cafe Turko, your presence is an inconvenience. After food was delivered, no other contact from staff. Had to go to the register to pay my bill, where a disgruntled staff was annoyed to have me show up Actually had to hunt the down to pay bill and experience unhappiness at my presence. Wanted to order more items. Experienced this every four time I was there, so there is a definite pattern coming here. Once you order, unfortunately the limited staff are reluctant to offer assistance beyond dropping off your menu items. For the price of the menu items, service is very limited here.

Yelp
Ambiance (3/5) - Liked the set up. Turkish Vibes. Food (3.5) - Ordered Ali Nazik Chicken with rice and salad and Beyti chicken. I highly recommend the Ali Nazik, the chicken was very tender, juicy, seasoned well and perfectly complimented the eggplant sauce. The salad dressing was very good as well. however the rice seemed to be undercooked and not seasoned well Beyti Chicken was a little bit dry for me. however, the chicken was tender and juicy I will definitely go back for Ali Nazik Chicken

Yelp
Went back again last weekend for dinner and tried some other interesting items. Eggplant Beyti, the rose mocktail and ordered everything else from the previous time. Food was as good as the first time. We managed to snag a table on a Saturday evening! Service is quick and courteous. You get a free tea for check-in and the Turkish music and vibes is just fantastic. Don't mind the long drive to eat the most amazing mezze. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
The food is okay, not fantastic but still good. A little bit on the expensive side for what it is. You can find better middle eastern food in Seattle for the price. However, the food is pretty, the ambiance is beautiful, and the service great. The yogurt drink was something I've never tried before and I didn't expect it to be salty! My friend loved it though - I do appreciate how they have unique items on the menu!
google avatar

Julia Z.

Yelp
Disclaimer: Had this at a party, so I didn't pay. They had falafel, rice, chicken, and eggplant. I came to the party not all that hungry, but once I had some of the chicken I couldn't help going back again and again for more. The eggplant dish was also quite good, as was the rice. The falafel was okay, but I think it also suffered most from being colder. Overall I would definitely go to the restaurant to try more of their dishes! Very tasty.

Yelp
Cafe Turko is one of the more comprehensive Turkish restaurants in the area. By that, I mean a bigger restaurant with a bigger menu; there are Turkish food eateries, too. The food seems quite legit, even though we only sampled two dishes. Their seasonings are very flavorful. The large restaurant is beautifully decorated and well-staffed. Even though we didn't make a reservation, they were able to seat us after a brief wait. Service was cordial and helpful. No issues. The Food: Ali nazik with lamb, $27 - 4.5 Stars Menu: Sautéed lamb served on top of grilled eggplant, tahini, yogurt and garlic sauce Mediterranean countries know how to do lamb well, and this dish is no different - very tender meat that went well with the sides. Beyti with eggplant, $21 - 4.5 Stars Menu: Sautéed eggplant, peppers, onions, garlic, and feta cheese wrapped in lavash bread and baked for crispiness, served with yogurt and garlic sauce and seasonal salad and homemade pickles Beyti is traditionally a meat dish, but I chose the eggplant version. The inside is mushier without the meat texture, but I expected it and am perfectly ok with it. The Mediterranean seasoning is wonderful. The lavish bread wrapping is excellent. Seven Spice Fries, $10 - 4 Stars Menu: Golden and crisp fries bowl seasoned with 7 spices, served with tomato sauce Let's face it. It's an American dish for our amusement. But hubby saw fries and wanted fries. Lol. To their credit, it's very crispy. In case you are wondering, tomato sauce is indeed ketchup. Rose Mocktail, $5 - 4.5 Stars Menu: One of the most popular refreshments served in Ottoman Palace, aromatic rose sherbet and lemonade mixture served with floating rose petals. I have a passion for rose flavors, and I eyed this beverage on tables as we entered. Refreshing rose flavor. Ah, so good!

Yelp
Are you kidding me? Cafe Turko is a festival for the taste buds! Everything we had was delicious, flavorful, fun, and fabulous! I didn't care that there wasn't a bar, because the beverages are so so so tasty! Love! Love! Love!

Yelp
They have unique dishes that are customized well with Turkish ingredients. The Turkish salad was delicious. The French fries were freshly made and sprinkled with mid eastern condiments. Unique and delicious. The staff is really nice.

Yelp
5/11/23,This is probably my fourth visit my friends were taking me out for a milestone birthday celebration and one of them is vegetarian and this had lots of options. This was the first time for all three of them. First off going to say our waiters Mehmet was awesome made the experience and celebration even more fun! Friendly never made us feel rushed as we were waiting for some of the gang to arrive doe to traffic and parking. Joked around and was open to giving suggestions. My go too since my second visit has always been Beyti with Lamb. I decided to try something new last night and went with the Ali nazik with chicken. Was delicious as I knew it would be and felt a little lighter. But still love the Lavash texture of Beyti. One of my friends had the beyti with beef the other had the same dish as myself and the third ordered two apps the rainbow hummus and grilled eggplant ezme. Was gifted a piece of Revani (Semolina flour and orange cake with light syrup and coconut sprinkles) for my birthday from Mehmet omg never had this dessert was so good. Not overly sweet. Always can't resist taking a few photos of the beautiful colorful decor especially the light fixtures. Looking forward to another visit!

Yelp
If you're looking for some authentic and creative Turkish food in Seattle, check out Cafe Turko in the heart of Fremont! I checked it out recently with a few friends! First thing you'll notice upon walking in is the beautiful interior and decorative pieces. Now onto the food! - Rainbow hummus plate: original, sweet potato, spinach, and beet. You can really taste each flavor and it's the perfect appetizer to share! - Adana kebab: minced beef and lamb rehab served with sumac, parsley, onions, and pickles. These kebabs are so flavorful and juicy with a nice balance of spice and char! - Kiymali pide: ground beef with herbs and spices, tomatoes, parsley, and mozzarella. I really liked the texture of the flatbread, which is complemented by the different profiles of toppings! - Doner kebab pita pocket: classic Doner kebab with homemade tomato sauce, grilled eggplant, roasted potatoes and feta cheese. Executed to perfection! This spot overall is a great place to hang with friends for either lunch or dinner! Generous servings all around (we couldn't finish it all ). Highly recommend this one! Yelp
When you walk in, you'll see how beautiful the restaurant and the decor are. The food is delicious, light, and will leave you feeling full without the guilt. So much flavor and traditional ingredients that make for something more exciting in Seattle. We always appreciate vegan options, and our server made sure we had a good experience.

Yelp
I actually quite surprised how good this was! The service was super quick too. The salad with my meal was amazing and my favorite. The dressing, I can't even explain it, it was that good. If you like citrus or tangy like dressing, you'll love it. The main dish itself was super good. I love tomato based food with rice, so it was a perfect condor me. The rice was nice and well cooked. The restaurant itself was fun and had really nice decorations, it couldn't stop admiring. Will definitely come back with more people!

Yelp
We definitely lucked out deciding to eat here for dinner on a Saturday evening. We walked over around 6:30pm and were seated right away with the restaurant already 60% full - couples, families, and groups. With a decent appetite for two, we ordered the Beyti Chicken plate, Manti, a Turkish coffee for my husband and a rose mocktail for myself. Everything came out in a timely manner and it was all absolutely delicious. Both dishes were savory and paired perfectly with the yogurt sauce. It was plenty of food for us both to try and feel satisfied afterward. We also bought a box of Turkish delight to enjoy at home - but would probably skip on it next time. Service was overall quick and friendly. We will be back!

Yelp
Good people. Delicious food. Large menu to try again and again. If you can't make it yourself, this is a great place to enjoy traditional savory and sweet Turkish foods. Helpful, friendly staff guide newbies through the many choices. Check it out.

Yelp
Really liked the ambiance. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Some great meal choices. I went with the lamb and hummus platter. Lamb was cooked a little to much, but flavor was there and the rest of the food was also delicious. Would definitely return and try some other dishes. Great location and great authentic vibe.

Yelp
Great spot for Turkish food! The restaurant gets pretty lively, and the decor is colorful and fun. The menu was a little difficult to read, but thankfully our server was patient and explained all the different dishes. However, I do think including some photos on the menu would be super helpful. We started off with the dolmas to share. These were flavorful and a nice appetizer to start with! For my entree I got the cappedocia kebab. The chicken was super juicy and flavorful - definitely a highlight! I liked the side of vegetables and rice as well. I would recommend this plate! Overall, had a great experience here and really enjoyed the food. I felt like it was a little bit expensive given the portions, but I would probably come back again.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant for a delicious Turkish meal! The village salad was made with such fresh ingredients and the baklava was a delicious sweet treat! I loved how authentic the food tasted, and service was great! Will definitely be back!!

Yelp
I love Turkish food and I was so excited to try this spot out! Beautiful interior with lavish Turkish decor - lamps and tapestries. Food: Orient Express Platter ($24) - Loved trying the 5 different types of mezze with the toasted pita bread - each mezze was so wonderfully flavorful! I don't think I've ever had dolmas like that before. Abdullah Sautée ($24) - I'm not sure we were given the right dish, that or the dish didn't match the description. Description - "Tender juicy lamb cubes served as a blanket on baked eggplant moussaka", where it was more like a few lamb chunks in a sauce with a couple of pieces of boiled eggplant. The rice was uniquely plated and wonderfully fragrant. If I were to come back I'd definitely try a different entree item such as the Manti or the Beyti. Delicate plating - though I'm not sure the prices lived up to the portions. Staff was super sweet though it seemed like towards the end we were being rushed out.

Yelp
Food was really good. Recommend both the chicken pida and Beyti Chicken. Plenty of food for two people. Warm gooey cheese pizza was particularly good.
google avatar

Ruj G.

Yelp
In a nutshell, pathetic experience! Totally ruined my friend's bday dinner! - Took 50 mins for our entrees to arrive - excessive / seriously too much salt in 3 Ali nazik with Chicken and Ali nazik with chicken and lamb. (My tongue itched because of the salt) I couldn't finish my meal. - Falafel in the wrap was cold - Found a plastic piece in the Falafel plate.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
Excellent ambiance-very warm and colorful and Turkish; very attentive and nice staff with quick service. The place was packed and we were seated within minutes of arriving, our order was taken promptly and food came out quick and in order: drinks, appetizer, food! The drinks and food were all amazing and flavorful. Would 100% come back here!

Yelp
I must admit it has been a few years since we've been to Cafe Turko, but the prices were incredibly high for the same food as 3 years ago. Being charged $4 for a tiny plate of sliced cucumber/carrots to go with an appetizer along with another $4 each for tiny plates of pita is over the top. We still didn't have enough pita / veggies to eat with the $29 Orient Express Appetizer plate (5 small portions of various options). I would really love to see the pita bread at least come with the appetizer. The service was lovely as usual and fortunately was able to give us a refill on our tiny glass of sage tea at no extra cost ...already $6 per glass. I don't think we will be back because it was over $200 before tip For 4 people. Large appetizer, 3 sage teas, 1 orange blossom tea, 4 meals and 2 desserts. We used to love going to Cafe Turko, but the $$$$ is a barrier at this point for what you get.

Took this down from three to two, they stopped including the red sauce with the beyti kebab so I stopped going for a while. I went back recently and the prices went way up like insanely up. It was $50 for two entries of beyti kebabs. Unaffordable among many other options.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I ordered a kebab plate and thought it was very flavorful. My husband ordered a chicken kebab sandwich which was also good and filling. Overall, I would definitely come back here.

Yelp
Great restaurant! My friends and I wanted to try a new cuisine we've never really tried before and we came across this place. We got seated right away and ordered various items to eat family style. Everything we had was delicious and super flavorful. Service was so-so. We also paid about $130 in total ($26 each for the 5 of us) and we weren't really full despite how much we spent. Regardless, this restaurant is definitely worth checking out. Would come back again.

Yelp
I purchased Doner Durum....first of all overpriced for what they served. That is not Doner Durum, what they served was a fast food gyro. The food quality is awful, this is embarrassing to call Turkish food. This is not Turkish food. This is fast food served in a fancy place. Very disappointed.

Yelp
Visited Cafe Turko recently for the first time with some friends. I was able to try the lamb durum, manti, the rainbow hummus plate, muhummara spread, and one of the pizzas. Every flavor of the rainbow hummus plate (yam, beet, spinach, and regular) were delicious. I almost licked the plate of the muhummara spread (walnuts, peppers, herbs/spices, pomegranate molasses). I would order those appetizers every time. I found the lamb durum to be a bit one-note so I added yogurt sauce and that was great. I only had one piece of pizza but enjoyed it. The manti (pasta filled with spiced beef) was simply made and tasty. I'd like to try some additional dishes on my next visit if I have room after devouring the spreads with pita. The restaurant itself has colorful and attractive decor. Our visit was on a Saturday night and every table was filled with customers while others were put on a wait list. There didn't seem to be enough servers for the number of tables so there were several glitches in service. Many restaurants are experiencing staff shortages so you have to be a bit understanding on that front.

Yelp
Fantastic! It's true, Cafe Turko took my Turkish food virginity last week. Fremont is a terrible place for me to try to squeeze into on a Friday night, but I made it here for this restaurant. No regrets. For appetizer, I recommend getting the rainbow hummus. They were all equally good. I am an unexperienced Turkish foodie, so the homies ordered all the entrees for us to share, not sure what the dishes were called. I do recall a bomb ass drink with a nutty taste to it though. Finding parking in Fremont is difficult, this is right down the hill from the Troll, maybe you can park near him and afterwards be forced to walk uphill to walk off the heavy food. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)

Yelp
Came here for a tasty dinner on a bustling Friday night. The wait for a table for 2 was about 40 minutes. We were quite hungry so it felt long, but we popped over to Schilling cider for a drink while we were waiting. The only disappointing part of our experience was getting service once we were seated. While the kitchen was bustling, we didn't see many servers walking around to take orders and the people next to us were seated later than us but had their order taken before us. We had to flag someone down to take our order. Food came out quickly though and it was delicious. The hummus was smooth and creamy. We ordered the borek but they were out of it and suggested the za'atar flatbread instead, which was soft and fresh. We had a sort of lamb roll too that was fresh and tasty. I also had the velvet sip to drink, which was a sweet chai with coconut and nuts floating in it. A bit different to have something chewy at the top, but a tasty drink overall. We are excited to come back and try all the other tasty looking bites on the menu

Yelp
I hate giving a local business only 1 star. But, I feel so disappointed. I spent $81 on food- Muhammara, Olive Pide, Grilled Chicken Pide, Falafel and Hummus, and Katiaf. The portions were extremely small for the price, and poorly packaged for to go. The pita was not freshly made and a store bought pita from the frozen section would have been better. The Katiaf was flavorless. It was unclear to me if the Grilled Chicken Pide had any form of chicken on it. The olive pide was fine but very small. The falafel and hummus was $17 and only 4 small pieces of flavorless falafel. I never would write such a scathing review for a local business, but this truly might have been one of the worst meals I've had in Seattle.

Yelp
Love the falafel here! It's crispy outside and smooth inside.. the lentil soup was the best of all the dishes we have tried that day. I was particularly excited about muhummara because there are very few places around Seattle area that serves them. Kinda disappointed in that though. The place was pretty busy on a Friday evening but the staff were accommodating and we could find a seat after 10 min of waiting. I doubt they take reservations for a party less than 6. Overall nice ambience and it's totally worth a try

Yelp
Finally gave this spot a try and loved it! The service was attentive, the interior design takes you to the beautiful Turkey, and the food was great. I got the beyti kebab with beef and enjoyed every bite! There's a variety of proteins to choose from too. The salad was great to break up the dish with some freshness as well. There's a selection for desserts too and we couldn't not try the baklava. It was sweet and delicious, a great way to end the meal.

Yelp
I've wanted to try Cafe Turko for a while. Overall a great menu with many options for veg and non-veg alike. You'll find much more than the usual falafel and baba ganouj. A wide range of mezze (appetizers) with clear indications of gluten-free, veg, and more. Get out of your comfort zone and try some fava beans or endless amounts of garlic in the yogurt sauces. Eggplant is a specialty and always my favorite. I had the Ali Nazik (polite Ali) fire which was seasoned roasted eggplant with other vegetables, garlic sauce, salad, and tasty rice. Good size portion for one but save room for their many desserts. I had it with black cardamom tea for the evening chill. Overall, Cafe Turko goes into heavy rotation, and I'll be back with my partners. It was a Friday and packed. Great to see people out and enjoying local restaurants. Bonus tip: there are quite a few grocery items and desserts available for take-out. If you like the many teas and need pomegranate juice or molasses, you have your hookup in downtown Fremont. At one time, they had a breakfast menu. I hope one of the owners will take the time to drop a note saying when it might be back.

Yelp
The place was cute and food was alright! Didn't think it was anything special so not sure I'd go back. Worth trying if you are in the area and love some kebabs and rice. I did like their flatbread tho!

Yelp
The food was delicious and the vibe was nice with the bright colors and lights! Server was extremely patient and helped with questions on the menu and side requests. She kept checking on the table and made this experience great. If I had enough room I would have gone back for a second beyti kebab it was that delicious!

Yelp
Do not order catering from here. I ordered lunch for my team and they completely missed one of the salads as well as one of the proteins that was included in the lunch buffet (#2). They argued with EzCater that they delivered all of the items but that was a LIE. Was barely able to get a discount from them and we didn't even have enough food for everyone so had to order from somewhere else. I told them they should send the person who delivered the food to see if we received all the items since they didn't believe me. They said they couldn't bring the missing items because they didn't have enough drivers, then maybe you shouldn't be in the catering business. The food was good but the stress of trying to fight them for missing items isn't worth it. Going back to Petra, the food is great and at least they are good at responding and make sure all the items are delivered. UPDATE: The owner randomly decided to come to my office to apologize. I was leaving the office but forgot something and came back. She was waiting in the lobby (didn't say anything to anyone). Honestly it was weird that she would randomly show up and it was a very awkward encounter. She said that EzCater were the ones that were lying about the amount of refund but why would they need to lie? The entire thing was bizarre and I'd rather avoid a similar situation.

Yelp
We LOVE Cafe Turko! It can get busy if you visit the restaurant, but the service is always lovely. The hummus sampler is fantastic and they can accommodate gluten free folks very easily! Al Nazik with Chicken is one of our absolute favorite dishes--it hits the spot every time! We also order delivery from time to time and I swear, it tastes as good as when you visit the restaurant! Great family owned spot!

Yelp
We ordered the sucuklu pide, beyti kebab with beef döner, velvet sip (this is the tastiest drink I've ever had), turkish coffee, and date dolmas. Everything was fantastic! Eating here is a wonderful experience thanks to the delicious food, the friendly service, and the awesome atmosphere. This restaurant is a must try!

Yelp
the restaurant is beautifully decorated. it's a bit cramped inside but i didn't mind too much. my friend and i got the olive pide, muhammara, and vegan manti. the manti was the best in my opinion, the tiny green dumplings were very cute. there were only 2 servers working at the time so service was a little slow, but they were very nice when they came around to us.
