Café Unido Casco Viejo

This quaint ☕️ spot is my go to while in Casco Viejo de 🇵🇦! I usually get the iced Vanilla Latte and the pumpkin muffin or the oat and cinnamon cookie, my favorite! Last time I bought the last three! The coffee taste really rich and was strong like I like it. There is an upstairs seating area that is great for meeting friends, studying or getting some work done. The wife had the caramel frappe with no ☕️ and it was really good! We also had the 🥑 toast that was just the right size for a small breakfast dish. Great flavors with the eggs and bread cooked just right! The service is amazing with friendly knowledgeable and helpful staff! Great place to practice your Spanish as well! My wife reminded me too that our seat is always available by the window!

Café Unido was hands down our favorite breakfast spot in Panama. Everything from their coffee to their breakfast options was top notch. We pretty much tried it all, but the Caesar wrap was seriously amazing. I even bought their Geisha espresso blend, freshly roasted, to make some shots at home. This place definitely deserves a solid 5 stars!

Café Unido is outstanding. The Geisha coffee here is genuinely exquisite. Smooth, complex, beautifully brewed, and clearly treated with the respect a Geisha deserves. We also ordered a latte, iced latte, and waffles, and everything arrived perfectly presented and thoughtfully prepared. What truly sets Unido apart is the service and the energy of the staff. Everyone we interacted with was warm, friendly, and genuinely happy to be there. The service felt generous and enthusiastic, like the team actually wanted us to enjoy our drinks and food, not just get through the transaction. We had just visited another café up the road that markets itself as more upscale, but the difference was night and day. At the other place, the service felt begrudging, as if serving customers was an inconvenience. At Unido, the service felt welcoming, kind, and effortless, which completely changed the experience. The atmosphere is equally impressive. A beautiful green, semi-industrial space filled with plants that somehow feels both modern and calming. It’s relaxed, unpretentious, and easy to settle into. On top of all of this, Unido is more affordable, yet the coffee quality is noticeably better. That combination is rare. Exquisite coffee, genuinely warm service, a calming space, and excellent value. A clear 10/10 and an easy choice over anywhere else nearby.

Avocado toast with an egg was good. A little small for the price. The Geisha coffee was also good but felt over priced. The atmosphere is quite basic. I feel like they could step it up a bit.

If you want your tastebuds to be absolutely blown out of the water with great coffee, go here! With branches across the city, the casco viejo branch is great with lofted second floor seating. Cappuccino was awesome with significant complexity and flavor notes. A must for anyone coming to Panama!

This is a scam! 8,5$ for a slice of bread with the tiniest bit of avocado and two eggs. The toast without the eggs would be 7,50$. It didn’t even taste good. I had to ask for salt and pepper cause it wasn’t even well seasoned. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Ate here for breakfast on my first morning in Panama. I fell in love with the Perico Sandwich and literally ordered two more times the next few days. If I’m ever back in Panama, I know what I’ll be eating for breakfast!

Great place in casco viejo for coffee and breakfast. The breakfast sandwich was amazing. The latte also delicious. Nice vibe with music. Perfect for a weekend breakfast. At 9:30 am on a Saturday it was packed. Luckily we arrived at 9:00 and found plenty of empty tables. We were so hungry I forgot to take pics of the sandwich but totally recommend it. Update: came back the next day to have the sandwich again. Posted the pics this time! ;)
