Essential French Restaurants in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"With locations in Buckhead and Sandy Springs, this charming cafe captures the essence of a quintessential Parisian patisserie. Nibble on a flaky croissant and sip a steaming espresso while the smell of freshly baked baguettes wafts through the air. Artisanal breads and perfect pastries are the draw here, but savory selections for breakfast, brunch, and lunch are well worth lingering over." - Sarah Bisacca

Where to Eat Pastries Around Atlanta

"Café Vendôme in Sandy Springs is a French pastry lover’s wonderland. Try the eclair filled with either vanilla or chocolate and one of the fruity tartelettes. They also have petit fours, cannelé, and Madeleine cookies, along with a lunch and breakfast menu." - Lia Picard, Sarra Sedghi

This café is great! The food and snacks they offer are always delicious. For a quick lunch or breakfast, I get the Croque madame or the almond croissant. If you have lactose intolerance and are interested in a drink, they offer milk alternatives. Furthermore, the owner is a wonderful person whom I've spoken with sometimes. They serve authentic espresso, which is much higher quality than most other cafés. My only nit-pick is the service. The employees are always kind, but they have forgotten to give me my order twice. I only got my order once I went up and asked what happened. The café can get very busy on weekends, even in the morning.

I had the pleasure of attending the soft opening of Café Vendôme’s newest location in Brookhaven, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Tucked beside Honeysuckle Gelato and Savvy Brookhaven on Dresden Drive, this charming little café is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood. I ordered a cappuccino and an almond croissant—both were absolutely outstanding. The croissant was buttery, flaky perfection, and the cappuccino (made with Intelligentsia Coffee, my personal favorite) was smooth and expertly prepared. The quality speaks for itself, and knowing that all of their pastries, breads, and food items are made in-house only adds to the appeal. The space itself is cozy and inviting, with just the right atmosphere for lingering over a book or catching up with a friend. The staff was incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home, going out of their way to ensure the visit felt special. This is the kind of spot you’ll want to visit again and again. I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu, especially the quiche and baguette sandwiches that caught my eye. Brookhaven, you’ve got a winner here!!

The panini sandwich and croissants here are absolutely delicious! Every visit, the quality of the food has been great, but the service could use improvement. Each time we’ve been, the food takes noticeably longer to arrive compared to other similar restaurants. During my last visit, they made a mistake on my order and added cheese to my panini, which I can’t eat. While I understand mistakes happen, it felt like I was a burden for asking for a replacement, and there was no apology, just a look like it was my fault. A bit of acknowledgment or an apology would have gone a long way in making the experience more positive. Still giving it a 4 because the food was delicious.

Google
I’m very disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant. The food was served late and arrived cold, which completely ruined the meal. On top of that, the service was lousy — the staff seemed uninterested and unprofessional throughout the visit. I expected much better. Definitely not worth the time or money.

Google
Stopped in for a pastry and coffee. The atmosphere is really calm, and upscale-relaxed. It was a nice place to chill for a little bit. The cafe is down the hill from the main road — this gives a bit of seclusion from the hubbub of the road. The Cafe au lait was good. The almond croissant was very good!!! It was buttery and soft. It was quite good. I wish I could have eaten more of their pastries. This looks like a place I wish were in my neighborhood.

Google
This spot is a regular in my girlfriend’s and my routine. Absolutely love the food selection, and the pastries/baked goods are the closest thing you’ll get to European in Atlanta. The staff are always kind and happy to tell you about whatever food is behind the glass that day. Also, while the orange juice isn’t cheap, it’s worth it. Try it at least once.

Love, Logan

Google
This place is great fo stop by with a friend and catch up. I got the Croque Madams, and it was yummy, I had the potatoes with it as well. The potatoes had a nice rosemary touch as well. The tarts and almond croissant is my typical go-to. The coffee is great as well.

The food was amazing. It’s a great place to bring your laptop. And everyone was very nice.

Yelp
Where has this place been all my life? The croissants are as great as any I've had in Europe and the selection of sweet treats amazing! Friendly service, fantastic pastries and lovely environment-perfect for a business meeting or midday rest.

Yelp
We had bought pastries from here before, so we decided to come back by for lunch. I ordered the croque madame. For those who don't know, a croque monsieur and croque madame need to be made extremely specifically to be even close to authentic. A croque monsieur is a sandwich with ham, a cream béchamel sauce, and cheese - typically a gruyere or similar. The sandwich is then topped with more béchamel and cheese, then broiled to melt and brown the cheese. It's creamy, savory and cheesy. A croque madame is exactly the same with an egg on top, typically sunny side up or over easy. What Café Vendôme served me what not, by any stretch of the imagination, a croque madame. The sandwich I was given had clearly never been near a béchamel sauce. What this sandwich had on it was ham and a tiny pinch of shredded cheese (mozzarella I think), then more cheese on top, then topped with an egg that somehow managed to be nearly burnt on the bottom and raw on top. I was immensely disappointed in this. However, I cannot give this 1 star because while it was no croque madame, the ham and cheese sandwich I got was edible. The bread was fine, the cheese was fine, the ham was fine. I ate it, but I wasn't happy with it. My verdict -- get the pain au chocolat, avoid the croques.

Yelp
I came in with High hopes Unfortunately it didn't meet any of those. Customer service: the lady at cash register couldn't have been more disinterested in taking my order. I have to repeat it 3 times before she got it right. Still leading to my order being very late. Food: for the price, it was disappointing, it didn't help by the time our food arrived, it had already been over 20 minutes and it was cold. I had ordered a hot sandwich. I did enjoy the Tiramasu. Music : while I didn't doc any marks, I would expect with a French cafe something instrumental. After waiting the 20 minutes for my food, I told the waitress my coffee was missing and after waiting another 10 minutes I went inside to find what seems to be the owner of the company behind the coffee machine. I explained I was waiting for my coffee, he asked me where I was sitting and what number I was.. Turns out sitting outside they weren't able to see me and the girl at the register gave two people the same number so they thought they had served me. While he apologized, he did seem to have a number of reasons/excuses as to why it happened.. I'm not sure why in this day companies don't offer refunds or comps for their mess up.

Yelp
Some of the best croissants I've had in the States. Great chai latte, not too sweet like some places make it. Ambience is really pretty and cozy, would love to bring a book here to read. I will try the entrees next time.

Yelp
Spent $14 for only 2 items. This was my first time coming here and I got to say that it was calm and welcoming, but the price and taste were not there for the food and drinks. Didn't live up to the Paris Standards _________________________________________________________ PARKING | [Parking was easy to find, even in a small complex building. The address will take you straight to the location and soon as you find the building, there should be plenty of spots to choose from; either in front of the building or in the open lots.] _________________________________________________________ EXTERIOR & INTERIOR | [The exterior of the building is in a small convenient shopping complex and is a little hidden in the back area (wish they were in the open more near the highway). Soon as you see the building, it is hard to miss the big red sign which is their logo. Soon as you walk in, the decor is pretty catered to the more urban, Paris look, which is what they are going for. They have plenty of seating to choose from whether it is inside or outside seating. You have some seating for comfort, traditional, or even bar style.] _________________________________________________________ IS IT CLEAN? | [For the most part, I have not seen a dirty spot anywhere in the store. It was pretty clean when I walked in and walked out.] _________________________________________________________ FOOD & DRINKS | [Here comes the important part which you want to note. The food and drink was delicious and it was good. However, for the price of $14 worth of just two items, which was pretty insane, it wasn't all that great or different from any other place. It was honestly a little disappointing that the chocolate croissant didn't live up for to the standard of its high price value of proximity $4-5. It was lacking the chocolate and croissant combination because it seemed like they wedge only two chocolate pieces in the croissant and just focused on baking the breading than focusing on the taste texture and uniqueness of the chocolate croissant. Now for the Almond Latte which was probably the more higher value item on the board which is around $8-9. For a coffee that is smooth, it was basic with no care. The latte should come with some ideal flavor or hit to give you a wow spectacular, but however, it tasted no different than a coffee that you would get at your local market. The foam on the latte is key to its success, even with design, but it didn't have the success nor design to live up to its standard. Coffee is the highlight of my day and if I am not satisfied by at least the coffee, then it has not gained my respect. When comes to a cafe, the coffee (at least) should be designed, tampered, and developed with care and respect, but however, this coffee was not given any respect at all.] _________________________________________________________ SERVICE ‍‍| [The service was quick and simple to the point.] _________________________________________________________ OVERALL | [Would I recommend this place? Only if you are wanting to see the interior of the building. For something that is so basic and has no spark, it is disappointing to the least that the shop doesn't put care into their coffee, more or less, create a memorable experience with their food. For a store that incorporates a more Paris -Style cafe, it is not the Paris-style cafe you are going to hope for.]

Yelp
We tried this place 3x. Once for pastry pickup for a get together with friends, that was the only good experience we had at Cafe V. The other 2 visits were not good. #1 coffee drinks are ordinary (given the price) ... look, I don't mind paying a high price for quality but if it isn't, that's just disappointing. Plus, we've been to France and are familiar with what they serve. On both occasions our food was substandard...he ordered breakfast each time...no good. The servers didn't seem to care either. I had a direct view of the kitchen, where I could see the workers eating and then plating the guests meals ... yikes!!! Which didn't make for an appetizing scene at all!!! Can you imagine??? I had only ordered a pastry during that visit ... still made me a little queasy. This is an honest assessment of my three visits ... perhaps yours will be different (I hope so). I really wanted this to be my go-to place and had high hopes. :-(

Yelp
Sign says 830 open. I'm standing at the door at 8:45 and the girl behind the counter is just completely ignoring me. I even knocked on the door. She didn't even look at me to say we'll be open in a minute. She just completely ignored me Even though the sign says they're open at 8:30. I'm literally standing outside at 8:45 - how rude

Yelp
Came here last week to pick up a croissant to go. I came in around 1pm. It wasn't too crowded and I was able to order quickly. A lot of the pastries were sold at this point in the day. I got the chocolate almond croissant to go. It was a bit pricey, but most pastries and croissants are these days. It was a large croissant! And very tasty. I warmed it up when I got home. I'd like to return to try their breakfast and coffee as well!

Yelp
First thing I thought of when we sat down is it reminded me of a hotel lobby cafe, but some people had their laptops out working so I guess it's a good place to study or do work. The drinks: Latte was decent. Matcha latte was not great, but should've known to not order a matcha latte at a French-style cafe. The food: we got 3 tartelettes, 1 croque monsieur (not pictured), a hot latte, and an iced matcha. I wish I'd taken a pic of the croque monsieur bc it was the saddest sandwich for $15 I've seen in awhile. The bread was super thin and the cheese melted on top seemed super artificial. There wasn't much meat in the sandwich either. The tartelettes were alright. The best one was probably the almond one on the top left bc it had a raspberry jam inside it. All in all, we spent $50+ at this place and regretted it. Maybe if you want a coffee and a quick pastry this is a fine place to stop by. But otherwise, nope.

Yelp
The food is solid. My cappuccino is great and the croissant is pretty good. My friend's vanilla latte was very sweet. The vibe is ok but it doesn't feel like a French coffee shop. it is a bit overpriced though.

Penelope S.

Yelp
I've seen a few things about the poor service and involving the owner the unfortunate part of it all, the turn over rate and the poor service isn't necessarily the girls fault. From what I've learned from my many visits is the owner is way too hard on them, expects them to do management work for barely 13 an hour that he depends on our tips to pay them? I've heard nothing but horrible things about this owner, tip those girls in cash!! Although the food was good, it's insanely overpriced and the coffee is pretty okay at best. These girls need better jobs, I feel bad for them.

Sonya W.

Yelp
I been coming for two years now. My first time was very welcoming and exciting. Personally I enjoyed the delicious food and beverages. Over the last two years the vibe of the atmosphere has changed. The customer service is very rude. In particular there is a woman working there with black hair. Never smiles. Never Thanks You for your purchase. They have a high turn around at the front desk. The girls are always so rude and un polite including the main woman. I am assuming she must be owner or manager. I can see why she also hires rude girls. I always get my food to go because it's not that welcoming coffee shop, or bistro vibe. They do treat you differently if your skin color is colored. I actually stopped going for many months , came back today only to feel so unwelcomed. Thought it was a Paris thing but it's not. Paris people aren't rude and if so you're in GA. In GA we have a thing called southern hospitality. Learn about it. I recommend joes coffee shop in East atlanta. They welcome everyone. Never say Hi. Never say May I take your order. Never say coke back. I see why they can't keep a good server or waiter. I can only imagine the work environment. If your looking for more a welcoming vibe

Yelp
The deserts are incredible, sandwiches are simple but good. Great spot for a business casual meal. Impress your mother in law with a special cake from here. The only challenge is the cost of everything. It's hard to stomach a baguette that is 70 cents in France selling for $5.50 here. I'm all for making money though so if you can afford it enjoy it :)

Yelp
The place looks clean, modern, and inviting but that's the extent of my positive thoughts. The price is ridiculous for what you get. The service is slow and inattentive. The pastries are great, coffee is decent, but don't get your hopes up thinking that the food is as well. The French onion soup was good but WAY overpriced. The salad has no crunch or herbs-- bland is an understatement, and I barely received 3 bites of it. Potato side comes with 6 tiny potato cubes and undersalted. The mushroom quiche we received was slimy, undercooked, and completely unseasoned. I ask for it to be exchanged for something else, and the waitress mumbled "no" and never came to check on us. Now that I mention it, the waitresses never checked on us. They didn't give me silverware-- only my wife. I had to signal to a waitress from across the room after 15 minutes to ask for our sides because it appears that they forgot. The restaurant wasn't even full and they had 4 waitresses that were struggling to stay organized. What a disaster. I'm very disappointed with the $50 I spent to treat my wife to breakfast, and will not be returning. Douceur De France will remain the go-to when I want French food.

Yelp
When I found out about this a French bakery, I had to go. I loved the touches of Paris inside the cafe like the small scale model of Eiffel Tower. Also they had a great selection of desserts for me to choose from. And the lady who was working there was really nice and I was impressed she brought my cake to my table. What a nice touch.

D G.

Yelp
Delicious pastries & delicious coffee! The staff is very welcoming, attentive and accommodating. Great place to catch up with a friend! There is also a table (8 seats) that is perfect to work from! A warm overall ambiance.
google avatar

Ahllam B.

Yelp
The coffee and pastries were alright. The cappuccino was underwhelming, although it was severely understaffed so that might have been why. The peach tart was bland. The chocolate croissant was good. The delicious thing I had was the veggie sandwich. The baguette was delicious. The selected veggies paired well with the pesto. I'd go back for that sandwich
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by this cafe on my way to meet a client next door and I am highly impressed with their salmon on a croissant sandwich!! I will be craving it every morning now. I will make sure to stop by whenever I am in the area.

Yelp
This is my go-to for chocolate and almond croissants! I stopped in one morning to pick some up for a potluck brunch for my book club. These were so beautifully done!!! Now, everyone always requests that I bring them for a book club. Since then, I've tried some of their other pastries, and they are wonderful, as well. If you eat there, it's a cute place that feels good to relax in alone or with a friend for a treat.

Yelp
First time to Rate Cafe Vendome Five Stars for Service. On the 18th, we had Kate K., as our Host/Server and she is as night and day in comparison to most of the other Servers. Please keep her and promote her. You need to hire more like her. The food is always 4-5 Stars. Service has always been the issue at this Cafe...!!!

Yelp
Clarification: I went to the cafe expecting to find a nice, cool temperature, quiet working area with plenty of outlet access. In addition to delicious baked treats and coffee beverages. The cafe is designed very nicely but immediately upon entering the cool temperature was not there, it was rather warm, and the music playing very dominantly and disruptive. The baked good options in the window area looked stale and wasn't much of a variety. The sandwich I ordered had parts of the bread where it was stale, the pesto helped with the balance but I couldn't chew it well it to actually enjoy because the texture was off so I threw it away. The cappuccino was oh okay, it didn't come with any type of syrup or sweetener already with it and adding sugar after it's ready in the end gives a very generic taste so I did not enjoy either of the food items I ordered. On top of that it was pricey which does not match at all the quality I received. It was incredibly hard to work as I planned and take the few calls I had because I couldn't hear my thoughts nor the person I was speaking to via zoom. There were many flies and crawling insects which made me call it a day and leave. I had such high hopes that this was going to be my new go to cafe but it failed so hard and fast for me. Again specific to what I was looking for in a cafe. If you're looking for a place to chill and enjoy your friends/family/loved one's presence and just chat while munching on something this could be the place for you. Just be aware of the thoughts above so you can know how to adjust accordingly.

Kenneth R.

Yelp
The service is horrible,,the lady who waited on us walked away without completing our orders. I was so in awe that we all walked out! I then called the owner,he apologized and said he was short staffed, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone!! The Attitude from that young lady was unacceptable!
google avatar

Adnan A.

Yelp
Was charged about $8 for an ice latte. I told the person that the menu board said it was $4, but she said "to go costs extra". Anyway, the most expensive coffee I've ever purchased was just "fine". :)

Yelp
Love this place , highly recommended from r lunch or pick up some baked bread or wonderful viennoiseries

Yelp
Looking for delicious authentic French flavors????? Well this is your spot! I'm so happy I found this place today. Delicious coffee and the pastries were amazing! I had a chocolate éclair and a pear tart (and honestly I could asked for so many more...). And have I mentioned about the exceptional customer service?! Do yourself a favor and visit this hidden gem!

Yelp
Great pastry shop/bakery, with outdoor seating and a nice atmosphere. Tucked away in the back of a strip mall, worth the work to find it. Several options to chose on the classic french style bakery. I had the chocolate croissant, a croque monsieur, and a cappuccino. All great. Would recommend as there are not many loke these in the city.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience. I give this place 5 stars for the service! Things you should know: I. LOCATION Its on the back portion of a plaza off of Roswell Rd. The parking lot is out front of the cafe and we found a couple available spots rather easily. II. SERVICE The service is why I gave this place 5 stars! Alfar was our coffee barista today. He was VERY passionate about his job--I say this because he gets to know his customers and asks genuine questions. It makes you feel valued and just sets a welcoming tone for your visit here. We stayed until the bakery was about to close and instead of throwing away the baguettes left over from the day, Alfar offered us a couple to take home..! I've never been to a location so generous. III. QUALITY Assuming the staff gave us some baguettes at closing time, they must bake everything fresh daily. The fruity petite four pastry I bought wasn't dry at all. Very impressed. IV. CAPACITY We found seating during the mid-afternoon on a Thursday. The booths can get very comfortable for long stays.

Yelp
Great coffee, pastries, quiches that are not heavy and so very flavorful...the service is a bit hit and miss... needs a manager making sure everybody is paying attention... but the quality of the food and the good attitude of the staff makes up for the rest.

Maria M.

Yelp
Wonderful French cafe with delicious food, breads, pastries, coffee, etc. Excellent quality. The service could be a hit or miss depending on who's working that day. Today there was a lady with an accent (French?) that provided good and fast service, and kept the place well organized. I wish it was always like this.

Yelp
I reflexively think of Cafe' Vendome as a place to eat north of Buckhead, because it will be quieter, yet still inside the Perimeter. As others have said, it is a "charming spot" and has a great atmosphere, with floor to ceiling windows bringing in the surrounding greenery. One goes up to the counter and places their order, which they bring out to your table. Again, I chose one of the quiche items and, to make sure they hadn't run out of potatoes, I asked if they had them in advance, since the dish comes with them. They did. To this, I added a cup of drip coffee. In short, I noticed that the prices have gone up. The quiche and potatoes were very good but the coffee was fairly ordinary. I understand that, being a nice locale, it shouldn't lend itself to students with books coming in for lengthy periods of time and consuming nothing but a cup of drip coffee, so it may be priced accordingly. However, taken as a whole, the tab was a little too high compared to previous visits. I noticed that the desserts were more reasonably priced, relatively speaking, than savory items, possibly making Cafe' Vendome more suitable for dessert and coffee or tea ... at least for me. Cafe' Vendome has an atmosphere I like, especially since I don't like dimly lit eateries. The service was good, and better than it was in my last update. The cafe' is very clean and comfortable. It's just that, with its prices going up, I'll probably shift from reflexively wanting to visit to thinking about it a little more. Note that, since it has stayed true to its concept and the food has been consistent, Cafe' Vendome makes for a strong 3 stars.

Yelp
We were sadly disappointed with our visit. The chocolate croissant was overworked and some of it was raw, so we had to throw it out. The tartine was good, but we thought it could have had more meat for the price.
google avatar

Thomas S.

Yelp
We love this place, the kids always lean toward the macaroons and I prefer their tarts. The coffee selection is awesome and, in my humble opinion, their chai latte is absolutely perfect! We won't stop coming back and you should start coming - often! Coffee and pastry perfection await!

Yelp
Been here three times in the afternoon. By the time I get there, it looks like everything is sold out... couple of times I left without purchasing anything. I wish they have more stuff till the afternoon. I did get chocolate tart and lemon cake one time. They were good. Nothing to write home about but good enough for me to wanting to try other things. Again, what a bummer it's been a fail to try more.

Yelp
I ordered from here on Uber Eats and was super nervous because I hold really high standards for almond croissants having had the most delicious ones in Paris. The food I ordered from here blew me out of the water. The almond croissant was soooooo soft and the filling was throughout the entirety of the croissant. The filling was soooo delicious. I also ordered a chicken panini and WOW. The chicken was surprisingly flavorful, tasting very similar to shawarma chicken, and the vegetables were super fresh and crisp. I have 0 complaints and highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Pros: -Bread is terrific -Place is clean Cons: -Prices. a sandwich and coffee costs $17. -I asked for butter for my French chicken sandwich (French sandwiches are served with butter in France) and the guy told me it was $3!!! Give me a break. -Slow service. 1 person working on a busy Friday morning. -Water jug had previous night's water in it and I was told not to get any until it was replaced. He didn't replace it while I was there. -Chicken meat was gross. It wasn't fresh, obviously pre-packaged and had some kind of chipotle seasoning. -Small portions of meat and egg. I would not go back here.

Yelp
What a cute french coffee and pastry cafe! I went here just when they opened. Ordered a raisin croissant and chocolate croissant along with a pear tarte and a mocha latte. Everything fresh and delicious. If in the area definitely worth checking out. They just opened 4 months ago

Yelp
I had an amazing afternoon treat today. It's a wonderful place with amazing staff members. The ambience is so nice and welcoming. This is a perfect spot to read a few pages of your favorite novel or to meet a friend over coffee.

Yelp
Oddly, the best spot to grab European desserts in Atlanta is located in Sandy Springs. A story of an immigrant coming from the French Riviera to gather a team of perfectionists who would be able to create these desserts, headed by pastry chef Karl. The desserts are very good, from eclair, to peach tart and cake slices. I was impressed overall, although the eclair is quite sweet. There is a solid selection and all were quite tasty. The look of each dessert is perfectly designed and it is a pleasure to admire them just as much as eating them. The selection is heavily focused on the classics, perhaps catering to the taste of the customers who come here. As much as I liked everything, it would have been nice to see more creativity in both recipes and visual presentation. Watching pastry chefs create these art forms of desserts is also quite exciting and there is an open kitchen concept. The dedication, attention to detail and patience required to create desserts of this quality is something admirable, something that few humans can possess. And yet, seemingly pastry chefs rarely get the recognition they deserve. Thus, coming here to observe them in action is part of the spectacle.

Yelp
Café Vendôme is really growing on me. It's a little pricey and their hours aren't the most convenient for me, but it's definitely worth making the effort to stop by for a quiet lunch or some pastries. I really enjoy the curry chicken tartine. It's flavorful and hot and filling and a great lunch staple. Definitely a must order! I've also gotten the French onion soup, which seems different from the American take on it. Very onion-y, with the cheese on only the bread, not the soup. The bread is toasted sliced baguette on top of the soup, which is easily removed to avoid sogginess. The pear tartlette I ordered was super cute and a nice sweet snack to go with an espresso beverage. I like how it wasn't too sweet, since sickly sweet desserts can make me feel sick afterwords. No pun intended. Price is a little high but the quality of the ingredients are pretty good. Cafe Vendome is a great French bakery to add to the diverse landscape down Roswell Road between Buckhead and Sandy Springs.

Yelp
VIBE- super cute place. Perfect for a casual date or brunch. They make their own pastries!!!! You can see big windows into their kitchen area. COVID- all open areas. No walls between tables or anything though it looked decently spaced out. They have outdoor seating. Service was really slow but during covid, I understand. FOOD- I only had pastry and it was DELICIOUS. The food on my neighbors table looked rly yummy. The only sad thing is they have bottled cold brew. It is not freshly made there.

Yelp
Although the food was worth 4-5 stars, unfortunately they missed 2 items in my to go order, so make sure to check your order yourself before you leave. Cafe Vendôme is located in a small shopping complex in buckhead and is a pretty popular spot. If you come on weekends, make sure to come as early as you can to ensure getting everything you want since popular items will get sold out pretty quickly. I ordered 2 chocolate croissants, 2 mochas, 1 pepito, and 2 madeleines to go, but I ended up not getting the 2 Madeleines, which sadly was what I was looking forward to the most to pair with the mochas. The food that I did get was probably some of the best pastries in Atlanta I've had so far. The croissant dough was the perfect consistency and the mochas were a beautiful proportion of chocolate and coffee. I probably won't give takeout another try, but I will be happy to come back whenever the virus season is over and eat at the shop.

Yelp
It's unacceptable to have only one person working the shop while open. My guests and I waited extensively to have our order taken and then waited even longer to get our orders. We all ordered breakfast sandwiches with different coffee/latte options. We were done with our sandwiches before our coffee orders even arrived. The poor girl working today couldn't be to blame at all. This was poor management. She couldn't even apologize just kept letting everyone know that she was the only one available and the orders would get to us when they got to us. So Disappointing

Yelp
Pros: cute, relaxing, quiet ambience Decent pastries Decent coffee Cons: super stiff pricing for flour doughs. Their croquet monster and madame are not even what they were supposed to be. Extremely dry. Not enough butter and cheese. The cheese on the sandwich was cold and dry. There are better french bakeries around town for french dishes. We tried chicken curry tantin.. it was super blend. Salad was wilted and not fresh at all. Conclusion: go somewhere else if you are looking for authentic french bakeries. I lived in France for years. This is not it.

Yelp
While most coffee shops will deliver a fresh brew coffee with a rich taste. This coffee shop was not that. The latte was middle of the road and heavily relied on thier croissant as the key focus to check this place out. More pastry shop than coffee.

Yelp
Currently disappointed in this place. They have new people at the front and now for some reason, I cannot just order a buttered baguette with eggs on the sides as I always have. Not sure why it's that difficult to attain.

Yelp
Cute place but holy moly, their prices are ridiculous! Came here for a quick afternoon pick-me-up and had no idea it was going to cost me the same amount of an actual meal somewhere else. A plain 12oz iced coffee, not cold brew, cost $5 and a chocolate almond croissant cost $6. The server actually charged me for a large 16oz when I only got 12oz. Worst part, I didn't even enjoy my $6 croissant. The dough itself was too sweet and the outside shell feels and taste caramelized. It wasn't flaky, it was dense and heavy. Thumbs down for me.

Yelp
Great food with a cute cafe vibe. The Almond Chocolate Croissant was heavenly. One of the best tasting cappuccino could have had more milk foam than milk but great flavour nonetheless. My husband had the veggie sandwich which was delicious as well.
