Included on the fika-themed tour around Alingsås, this café introduced me to Silvia cake – vanilla syrup soaked into soft sponge and topped in coconut. Enjoyed during a mid-morning or afternoon coffee break, the cake and cosy café atmosphere helped define the indulgent, unhurried spirit of Swedish fika. - Diana Jarvis

We enjoyed a stop on our FIKA tour in Alingsås. Cafe Viola has always been owned by 2 women, not always the same women, and this hold true today. We were seated in a private courtyard Where we sampled shrimp sandwich with gluten fre and lactose free versions we also enjoyed a soft cake topped with coconut, light and delicious. The bakery was inviting so we bought some lunch to take.

God smörgås men inget extraordinärt. Cappuccino var galet stark och mörk, kändes sumpigt. Samma sak med bryggkaffe, stark smak av sump. En besvikelse och det lär inte bli något återbesök.
