Chez Ta Mère’s Pumped-Up Sandwiches Hit the Mile End Next Week — And Other Openings | Eater Montreal

"Located in Old Montreal and fashioned after the look and feel of 1950s Little Havana, this new café from owner Doha Skaf (with partner Katia Nour) was built into an old parking garage and aims for a classic mid-century vibe rather than the touristy, colorful connotations of Havana. The spot serves regular coffee like cappuccinos and lattes as well as its namesake cafécito — a spin on espresso with a touch of sweet cream — and the bombom, a latte with sweet condensed milk, and will offer cubanos and other sandwiches." - JP Karwacki

This is a very nice little coffee shop. It is nicely decorated and gave me the feeling that I was actually somewhere down south. I had a cappuccino and it tasted great. The pastries were alright. The service was friendly and smiley. I can't wait to go back. Sitting on those chairs and having a nice coffee with pastries on a beautiful day was just perfect! Parking around the area was hard to find though. But not the shops fault. Just a heads-up so that you plan some time to find parking if you're driving. It's also a few steps away from the Lachine Canal and the old port.

Located on the south edge of old port, east north edge of Griffintown. Really, really Very cute places. Nice decor. Friendly services. Enough space to sit around. Give 3 a star because the flat white and latte we ordered is very watery. Maybe it is just this one time. plan to come back try second time.

Very cozy and welcoming café, good coffee & pastries, amaziiiing sandwiches and even more amazing staff. Great for sit-in or take-out. One of my favourite cafes in the old-port. Ps. Must like latino music, if you do you’ll feel the fiesta vibes!

Wow what a welcoming place to have coffee in old montreal. The baristas are always ready to greet you with a big smile and make sure that you enjoy your coffee. I recommend staying in to enjoy the nice vibes, music and conversations with the neighbours. This has become my Montreal favourite!

Such a cute coffee shop. Staff is very friendly. Their iced oat latte is delicious! Not the easiest café to find, but once you know where it is, you’ll be back 😊 They also offer tasty sandwiches and other interesting products from local vendors such as Les Filles Fattoush. Great little coffee shop in the Old Port!

Most adorable cafe. Such a good vibe, and the barista was soooo nice and helpful. Had iced lattés which were SO GOOD. Also had a frozen fruit popsicle which I loved. The flavour I tried was mango lime! Very pleased and can't wait to return

Yelp
Whenever hubs and I travel to destinations where it's just rare to find an influx of Latin-Caribbean businesses like in Montréal, we're there to support. Ways away from Montréal's hotspots, is Cafecito- a Cuban-influenced café that marries those famous Miami pastels, energy, greenery- and their own touch of kitsch. I almost like that Cafecito is away from the heavy-footed Old Port area and located in this quiet Sud-Ouest neighborhood because finding parking, made it that much easier. Cafecito is the place to be grab a bite or two eat while you sipping your espresso and listening to Salsa music. That was us- except I sipped on their subtle-tasting hot cocoa to warm me up. Sandwiches on the menu are The Cubano, a Tuna sandwich and The Havana Sandwich aka, The Vege- which I ordered with roasted marinated eggplant+ goat cheese+hot pepper spread that had great taste with oily goodness dripping down on a light as air crunchy ciabatta. And hubs liked his Cuban sandwich on Brioche+decaf espresso. I particularly liked that Cafecito offers other beverages such as Matcha, (I think Chai?) and hot cocoa aside from coffee. Coming here for a nosh was a nice. Kudos to this family for opening up an unusually seen- but delightful, Caribbean-inspired cafe in these parts.

Yelp
Best Cuban coffee in MTL located in the old port. Love this cute place, the decore is very cute and nice, it almost looks like a cute Cuban lounge area. The Cuban sandwich is very good, they also have a few different exotic soft drinks. They also sell merch, mugs , candles from other small business The employees are so nice and welcoming. This place is perfect for coffee lovers, definitely a must try

Yelp
Great vibe, completely open air like a garage but with nice decorative touches. Lots of seating for working or chatting with a friend. Menu reminds me of being back in Florida! Taking a star off because I ordered a matcha (maybe not the right thing to order at a place specializing in Cuban coffee) and the milk was hardly at all mixed in.

Yelp
Great coffee, self roasted beans and small market with great products. Very charming!

Yelp
Drinks were tasty and well priced. Like idiots, we showed up after closing yet the barista let us stay regardless and served us. Solid 5/7
