On the Grid : Cafecito Organico

"I live next door, literally. When I was looking for an apartment in the area, this coffee shop let me know I found the right apartment. The coffee is always great and the people are far less pretentious than what your typical LA coffee shop holds. They won't serve you if you are on your phone. The back area is an somewhat of an oasis; plants everywhere, reclaimed wooden walls and furniture, "fire places" when it's cold. Come here to zone out or to get some work done." - Cris Cimatu

Cafecito Organico - Review - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Cafecito Organico, the coffee shop on the border of Silver Lake and Virgil Village, roasts some of our favorite beans in town. In fact, their cold brew is so molasses-forward that we don’t even add cream or sweetener to it. It goes great with a poppyseed blueberry muffin. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Caffe Vita Silverlake Review - Silver Lake - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Sitting on a corner in Silver Lake, you can’t miss this all-black building that kind of looks like the global headquarters of a non-threatening lifestyle cult. Once inside though, you’ll find a surprisingly bright and accommodating space that also serves excellent coffee. Walk up the staircase and you’ll have all the room in the world to spread out and let the laptop magic begin." - Brant Cox

ample seating, actual tables, not sure if there are outlets, 1 restroom. all outdoor seating, plenty of shade. free street parking. vibes- great, lots of plants. noise- birds and traffic, pleasant.

I recently visited Cafecito Organico in Silver Lake and ordered a hot latte. This spot is a favorite among the younger crowd in the area. They have a great outdoor seating area where you can relax. Even though there isn’t any music, it has a laid-back street café vibe that’s perfect for unwinding. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a calm coffee break.

Google
I used to love this place. They have an amazing patio that feels like a tranquil little retreat from the city, and I still do love that, but the drinks and the food are really disappointing these days. The espresso tastes like maybe it was burned. My drink is very very bitter. I asked them if they could re-make it, and they very kindly did, but it was still so disappointing. And this morning we got the avocado toast topped with two scrambled eggs which was $16, and it wasn’t terrible, but it was extremely basic, on very basic bread. Felt way too expensive for what it was. Overall, besides the setting, it was a remarkably disappointing experience.

The CURLY DARK HAIRED guy with the mustache is SO RUDE and is actually ruining this business. He makes Awful drinks and has a NASTY attitude. If you don’t like your job, then leave. The neighborhood deserves a great coffee shop, this location had such ample opportunity do so, and is just a great waste of space.

Google
this is my favorite location. The place is so tranquil and I love their “HOOVER WILDERNESS” 💻 🍃 patio area. There’s nothing like being surrounded by plants 😍 I had the turkey sandwich which is made with croissant bread (had the perfect balance of softness), their Coquito 🥥 iced drink (it’s like a horchata vanilla twist drink❤️) and the chai latte (he best chai I’ve ever had🤩!)

Google
Always loved this place. The food and coffee is consistently good. The outdoor patio is great and a wonderful place to bring your dog as most dogs I've encountered here are well behaved

Google
Vibes perfect tho there is no indoor seats. Even though this cafe is good for Remote work or study! And this turkey&Bri sandwich is SO GOOD. Coffee is not bad !! And there is no parking lots so you should park on the street.

Avedon Arcade

Google
An average good coffee joint. Nothing spectacular or a must have but as a neighborhood hang it’s a nice space. No signature or specialty drinks, just no fuss coffee. There’s two outdoor seating areas perfect to dip away from work or to work for a while. Indoors is still closed off to the public and ordering is only through the window. I do like that they ask you only stay 90 mins. Three stars for the coffee and another for its space.

Yelp
A quaint coffee shop with neighbor like service. I went on early Sunday morning and parked in a neighborhood street. To order coffee and food you walk up, order, wait for your coffee and food. There is plenty of seating, but you have to carry your food there. It was nice that they had covered trash bins to dispose of the food without attracting birds. I liked the environment as it was clean and calm.

Yelp
I don't drink coffee or dairy so my go-to order at cafes is an iced chai with oatmilk. Needless to say, I've had a lot of iced chais (I love chai). The chai at Cafecito Organico was the blandest I've ever had. Chai is known for all its delicious and aromatic spices. The chai here tasted like sugared milk with a dash of cinnamon. To their credit, the vegan blueberry muffin I had with it was pretty good. Service was fast, friendly, and the outdoor patio is a true gem, perfect for gatherings. But... I don't see myself coming back.

Yelp
Cafecito is a regular spot on our rotation list for coffee. I have a friend that lives nearby so it's easy to make it a meet up spot. That being said, it's very hit or miss. I've had some wonderful customer service and I've had some not so wonderful customer service. I've had some great matcha lattes, and some not so great matcha lattes. So I really do think the experience here is dependent on who's working. Parking is also hit or miss. They have some parking in front that no one really pays attention to, whether it's a red curb or not. People just park there and order and run out. But there is neighborhood parking that can be easy to find and then just walk over. I would say, the cars here do NOT fully come to a stop at the stop signs. If you're crossing the street, be careful, make eye contact with the drivers, make sure they see you, never assume they'll just stop. There is a cool little patio and outside bar seating situation that faces the sidewalk/street, where a lot of people come to work on laptops, read, or just meet up. Noise is pretty minimal with the exception of the passing traffic. I don't usually see big groups here but seating is more suited for individual and smaller groups (2-3). They have a straight forward menu with a lot of the classics. I enjoy their lattes usually, the matcha lattes really depend on who's making it. The cold brew is also a good choice. Overall, a good place to have coffee if you're in the area. There's so much coffee in these parts though, so definitely something for everyone. I wish there was a bit more consistency with this location. They do have another location in Atwater and that place is 10/10 every time.

Yelp
This coffee shop is off the 101 fwy on Silver Lake Blvd. It's hidden in a residential area, so there is only street parking (free and not metered). They occupy the corner of Bellevue and Hoover. The entrance to their back yard is on Bellevue. You order at the window and wait for your drink. They have a few seats under umbrellas on the side walk. The coolest part about this coffee shop is their little jungle in the back. It's a cute spot to read or do a bit of work. They have cushions and benches and lots of shade from the sun. Coffee is good. (also posted on Google)

Yelp
Very poor customer service. Came here for the first time as I was in the neighborhood for another errand. I ordered the vegan blueberry muffin, and a flat white with oatmilk. Since it was 90° out and the drink was under the section with iced drinks, I assumed it would be iced. It was served to me hot. When I looked at it on the counter and said that I thought it was an iced drink, the guy just shook his head no. I asked him if he could fix it to an iced drink, again he shook his head no. Keep in mind I had already paid and tipped generously on my order. So, I asked for a cup of ice , so I can just pour it in myself. Also, the vegan blueberry muffin was sweetened with honey. I was told after the fact. Honey isn't vegan. Not sure why it was so difficult or why this guy has zero customer service skills. But will definitely never go there and give them my business again. Pass on this place.

Yelp
Cafecito Organico is a small corner chain serving espresso drinks & coffee made with organic, fair-trade beans in Silver Lake. You can order the drinks from the window and bring them to their back patio which has tons of greens and vintage decors. I came here to grab a Cold Brew and Butter croissant. Both were good and their service was fantastic. Prices seem reasonable for the area. Finding street parking can be a bit challenging. Overall, I enjoyed my drink and pastry. I recommend this corner coffee shop.

Yelp
Such a bummer. Returned to Cafecito today and my latte was not the same deliciousness as a few years ago. I don't know if they changed the espresso or almond milk they're using, but my latte was pretty bitter. I also ordered the Avocado Toast with two eggs. It was tasty but the bread was on the basic side. Service was still great.

Yelp
Stopped by briefly for coffee, which was very promising. Unfortunately can't say anything about food. Drinks came out quickly and were okay-priced for Silverlake. Americano - beans ground fresh and no weird tastes. This was a great Americano all in all, a little under $4 for a quick caffeine boost. Mocha - Solid mocha, even without the sweetener. Menu says it's made with raw cacao and you can definitely taste the difference. About $7 for a 20 oz which is about normal for nowadays though it pains me to say that. We were in and out in about 5 minutes, but this place also has space for indoor/outdoor seating. Really good for to go, in my experience. Street parking is also quite easy to find, even if you have a cross a smaller street to get here. Would come back to try their extensive food options!

Yelp
Nice little coffee shop in Silver Lake. Good place with outside patio and restroom. I just got a basic latte with oat milk and an almond croissant. They have a nice patio with plants nearby and shaded seating. Good vibes. There's also a restroom with code near the cashier ordering station. Would come back again. Street parking is available pretty readily. Not much around, but few small shops up the street. Safe, nice.

Yelp
Looking for that Sason (mexcian word for flavor or seasoned well) that most breakfast restaurants are lacking???...then I recommend this place... The breakfast sandwich, a bolillo instead of bread, so it is more like a torta... but they call it sandwhich was very good... The burrito was also very good, had a good amount of soyrizo, and the burrito was bigger than most breakfast places... (ever had a burrito, but it looks more like a taco?... That's what I meant... Recommend adding And, reasonable price... I see how places are charging 16 to 18 on a breakfast burrito. This place is about 14... Coffee was on point, lol.... I got a second cup!! Enough said... 6 stars on the coffee Friendly staff... no issues at all... Parking can be a pain... street parking, so good luck finding a spot... No indoor seating, outside, and patio...it's pet friendly... (For those like myself who have fur babies) Cool, chill ambiance... I can say, definitely coming back... When you go... Enjoy...

Yelp
Pulled pork sandwich lack of flavor (no flavor, plus no salt at all) and I'm not a salt lover since I utilize only Himalayan... only the bread could be good but has no taste) Tamarindo agua fresca* was really good)

Yelp
I paid $7 for a cup of milk. This is what they call a matcha latte.. as a Japanese American woman this shouldn't be allowed to be served: this is not Japanese matcha. the girl had such a terrible attitude.. there is no gun against your head my dear. I don't know what's going on in your life but I'm so sorry to be the one to tell you.. you applied for this job.. no one forced you into this line of work.. this is a customer service job. Matcha is not on their menu so asked if they had it.. she rolled her eyes and pointed at a sticker image of a matcha latte on their window, she said uh yeah we do.

Yelp
I've always wanted to try this spot so I had high hopes for it. I got an iced dirty chai latter which was very good! Nothing too special but would definitely grab again. The costumer service could've been a little better. The baristas were very serious and when people would say thank you to them they wouldn't even respond. They just seemed uninterested. But the spot is very cute!
google avatar

Macy E.

Yelp
Everything tastes amazing don't get me wrong but I wish that the coffee sizes were bigger than what you're paying for. The burrito was huge but really spicy too much actually but still tasted good. Other than that.. the location is awkward but nice outdoorsy type.

Yelp
Love CO. Neighborhood favorite that can host a hearty line but moves pretty fast. From what I've heard the coffee is great, I am a tea guy. Their Chai and matcha are spot on, not the pre-sweetened stuff you get at some places. Add simple syrup if ya need. Daily food / pastries are delish! We have yet to experience the pop-up Thursday - Sunday food from D LA Tostada but very curious. Outdoor seating with everything from laptops, sketch books, to actual books and chatting friends
google avatar

Thuyvi T.

Yelp
honestly, not the best cold brew i've had. i got a cold brew with oat milk and lavender syrup. the cold brew had a very sour aftertaste and the lavender syrup tasted like perfume. it was $7 which is normal in la but still expensive for a small cup of iced coffee. we ordered outside so the cashier had an order window. he was nice when we asked him about the coffees. the coffee shop was in a small corner area and i wasn't sure if there was a dine in area. i'm not sure if i would come back for the coffee but my friend said their vegan blueberry muffin was delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely a hipster joint. I swung by to pick up a coffee on my way to work. It's going to be a long day so I needed something strong, caffeinated and iced. This place doesn't disappoint.
google avatar

Talin B.

Yelp
Needed a quick coffee before heading to San Diego & this place was the closest to us, on the way. Dude at the front was super sweet and helpful. The coffee was, alright. I think I should have gotten another pump of vanilla or something because it just tasted a little bland. But that could have been my fault. The blueberry muffin was fire. It was vegan AND moist. Which normally I find some vegan pastries a little dry but this was good. I'd come back. It's for sure worth a try.

Lailanie R.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. Asked the cashier for a recommendation and he seemed annoyed that I asked. Got the raw cacao and it was pretty nasty. Also got the chocolate croissant and asked if they can warm it up and he flat out said "I can't" LOL never going back nor do I recommend this spot.

Yelp
Was walking by this establishment Noonish today with my dog. Wanted something light and casual for lunch. Took a look at their menu and figured I had nothing to lose. Quiche Lorraine (Full Size) $11.00 Rare I eat out quiche in Los Angeles as so many folks screw it up. They make their Quiche Lorraine with ham despite the fact it typically has bacon and/or bacon lardons. Took them 8 to 10 minutes to get it ready for me. Great sign as this means no microwave nonsense. And - reality is they delivered me a delicious mini quiche enough for 2. It was lighter than typical quiche. They may have used milk in lieu of heavy cream. Seasonings and flavor was spot on. Was it the best quiche I have ever had? No. However, considering what is out there they deserve 5 stars as I truly enjoyed it. Aguas Frescas (Tamarindo) $4.50 EXCEPTIONAL! Often these drinks are way too sweet for me. However, this Aguas Frescas was perfect, packed with fresh tamarind flavor. It was a perfect light cold and refreshing drink for an 80 degree day in Silverlake. They have two outdoor patios. The one without grass is for dogs, the other for non-dog clients. Since Elizabeth is always with me guess I will never see the one with faux grass. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Great vibe. So glad I accidentally found this joint today.

Yelp
This place is going downhill and management is rude. I was using a fan to cool down the area for all customers and the manager just came in snatched the fans and threw them out. I told him we were using it but he did not care. Horrible customer service.
google avatar

Sofya P.

Yelp
Love the outdoor space with my favorite fireplace. Drinks and pastries are great! Chai and Cheese danish were delish. Would come again for the chill vibe!
google avatar

Yelp
A cute humble location tucked neatly into a neighborhood corner, Cafecito Organico is the real deal! It has a lot of what makes a good coffee shop: good food, good coffee, good seating, and good vibes! The food and coffee prices I tbink are within reasonable for LA. Seating is generally plentiful though I have seen this place pretty packed every so often. Additionally, only certain areas have outlets, so working here requires a fully charged laptop unless you get lucky! But I would still recommend this place as a nice location for some light studying, work, and just for a pleasant brunch hangout
google avatar

Jo M.

Yelp
Good coffee if you're in a rush. If you have time, definitely hang in their funky courtyard -- it's a quiet hideaway from the busy streets around it. Good neighborhood for walking the dog too

Daniela R.

Yelp
Bought Bahn Mi from the sweet, beautiful BeU and drinks at Cafecito and sat at their patio. White staff was hella weird bc we brought outside food even though we purchased beverages from them. They kept monitoring us and giving us dirty looks. Honestly gave hella racist vibes. Would not recommend coming here if you're POC
google avatar

Jake D.

Yelp
I love this place. It's become one of my local spots I frequent whenever I need a good pick me up to start my day. The dude there gave me a nickname, Mr. mahogany lol. He always says whatsup and makes the whole experience better. The food is incredible when they have the kitchen running. The Juevos rancheros are insane. Get the avo with it and treat yourself! Per usual around here they don't have caramel sauce. The vanilla isn't the best, but I definitely recommend the cortado - that thing is fire. Just usually too hot outside to get a hot drink ya know. The dirty matcha is solid too. Overall yes yes yes go to this place and have yourself a time. Hangout in the turf lounge place and listen to some cool conversations while you eat some deliciousness
google avatar

Juan O.

Yelp
Cafecito ranks as one of my top coffee shop destinations. Its unique location, nestled in a vibrant neighborhood, and the exceptional food make it a must-visit. I strongly suggest checking it out if you're in the Silverlake area.
google avatar

Carlyn U.

Yelp
I guess we came too late as they were out of the vegan sandwich that I wanted to try - it looked so yummy. The folks are super nice and I love the garden atmosphere. I came because I wanted something healthy and I saw Organic in the name. The only bummer is that the Iced chai is made with cane sugar and the turkey sandwich I got was pre packed from another place and the mayo had high fructose corn syrup and other preservatives I will be back to try the vegan sandwich and try some of the delicious sounding cookies. The dining area really feels like a hidden gem.
google avatar

Kislev A.

Yelp
This place is a blast from the past. It's been over a decade since I've been here last and it has changed so much! It now has an outdoor dining area that is totally kick ass. What a beautiful and relaxing space. This time, I tried their coffee. Last time, I went for the tea. And this time, I am totally impressed by their Cortado. Their Latte is strong which is always good. Didn't taste too milky at all. The Jasmine Tea was brewed perfectly and was not burned. The Kid's Chocolate was not burning hot and was pretty good. The Vegan Breakfast Burrito is tasty but is very heavy on the potatoes. Which I realize a lot of people might prefer. There was a line to order and a shorter line to get your order. Parking in the surrounding neighborhood streets is, as always, a challenge. By the way, this place is hopping now compared to 11 years ago. I am VERY glad! Because I want to know that this place will be here for a long long time.

Yelp
The best coffee shops are the ones you find in your neighborhood!! Reached here right before the closing but the server was so kind (forgot to ask his name) he took my last order of Macchiato and it was just what I wanted!! They have a cute outdoor garden where you can enjoy your coffee and some food.

Lamby C.

Yelp
Arrived when they stopped serving food but stayed because of the coffee drinks (delicious) as well as the agua frescas (also delicious)! The outdoor patio area was so serene & a lovely place to unwind.
google avatar

Evan R.

Yelp
Ordered a hot latte with oat milk and vanilla, terrible, they didn't get my coffee right, no oat milk and no vanilla. I even tipped them. There is no ambiance, it's a street coffee vendor , no signage of the coffee shop, very confusing. Service was average, 10 second interactions.

Cem S.

Yelp
I love coming to this place in the mornings for my coffee(: I can't help but to only come here and no where else it's soooooo quick the guy with the fluffy hair (Ruben I believe) is sooooo quick with my morning coffee and it's definitely nothing compared to Starbucks.

Eli P.

Yelp
I've enjoyed the panela latte in the past, however the customer service is very callous and cold. I read a previous review that stated it feels like you're intruding. I have to agree. A small 10 oz oatmilk panela latte was $8. Def not a $ place, in reality more of $$ and $$$ budget.
google avatar

Sandi P.

Yelp
Oh Yah! Cafe O is the best thing in our neighborhood. We love coming here for our coffees which are so DELISH. My fiancée from SF swears this is the best coffee he has ever had. We also love the quiche's and vegan mushroom sandwiches. So so good. Such a relaxing lush outdoor garden patio vibe all yr around. Service is good. Ruben Rocks! Super fun and nice guy who gives us lots of laughs. The super model looking guy really cool too. Amazing its been here 10+ plus yrs. Worth a visit. Support local!
google avatar

JJ J.

Yelp
The coffee is solid; overpriced, but it's silver lake. What is strange is that it always feels like you're bothering the employees just for existing - they're always chatting with each other and you have to be like "excuse me" to order something, and then they give you a blank face like you're inconveniencing them. But of course always are eager to ask for a tip. For baristas that don't make you feel bad for giving them your money go down the street to Cafe Tropical.
google avatar

Gabriela H.

Yelp
Excellent service, delicious coffee, and nice patio area. Cute dogs too. This place is a local favorite!

Michael A.

Yelp
Service here is so awful it's comical. You feel like an intruder to whatever conversation the baristas are having at the moment. They cannot be bothered. The icing on top is when they turn the tip screen around.
google avatar

Genevieve H.

Yelp
Great, Unpretentious, outdoor (with bathroom) cafe perfect for meeting up or working for a few hours to kill time in the neighborhood among greenery. It's quiet, chill, full of dogs and no one being obnoxious.
google avatar

Gina V.

Yelp
The turkey Brie sandwich hot is so good although the second time I got it, it was really cold right in the middle. Still ate it tho lol Coffee kinda sucked. It's not horrible but it's meh. Service is like their coffee, meh. Maybe it was a bad day but it was very like robotic. Idk I expect a little more I guess.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
Such a chill and cool spot! I walked over after getting a haircut from the nest by barbershop and ordered a small iced latte with oat milk and a salted chocolate chip cookie! Such a tasty combo! Additionally the guys at the window were cool and friendly. A perfect way to start my late morning in the afternoon.
google avatar

Sohrob T.

Yelp
I think I've had my last drink at this place unfortunately. It used to be one of my go to coffee spots but the last three times I've gone the quality has been subpar. Today for example, I ordered an iced latte and it tasted like a mix of lavender and bug spray. The staff have always been nice but I can't waste money on drinks I don't like anymore.

M M.

Yelp
The coffee and the seating area are nice enough but the service is just awful. Why is it so hard to be friendly towards customers (let alone give them a smile once in a while)? Is this a hipster thing? It DOES matter you know, otherwise customers go elsewhere... Which is what I will be doing from now on. I have given this place a few tries now, each time my friends and I are met with the same bored and unfriendly attitude from a certain staff at weekends. It's especially obvious when the next customer is greeted with a wassup dude... After Covid, I would have thought extra niceties would have been de rigueur in order to keep customers returning but that doesn't seem to apply here. So goodbye and all the best to you guys.
google avatar

Nicole V.

Yelp
The drinks and pastries here are good, unfortunately the staff made my experience disappointing. The ladies taking my orders both looked me up and down when i came up to the window. Their attitudes were very unwelcoming and made me feel out of place from the start. My dog and I sat at a table in the grass area for over an hour until a busser came over and very rudely told me I couldn't sit there. "There's no dogs allowed here, you need to move" I left from the embarrassment, and won't be coming here back.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
Stumbled across this little gem when I got lost after exiting the freeway lol! Decided to come back just because "Organico" grabbed my attention. Came for a little morning Café date with the hubs and it was just the cutest little place! We ordered Almond Lattes & Gluten-Free Salted Chunky Chocolate Chip Cookies ... THE COOKIE WAS FABULOUS! It was chunky and soft and chewy at the same time! The salt was just the perfect amount of salt. They have the cutest outside sitting area with wooden picnic tables, colorful cushions, plant decor and umbrellas. It's super Instagram photo worthy and their coffee was good.. nothing crazy but also nothing to complain. Tip: Go early parking is a little bad in this area or be prepared to look for parking for a good minute.
google avatar

Alec S.

Yelp
Really chill place to get coffee and do work. Nice outdoor seating area. Drinks are good.
google avatar

Heici C.

Yelp
Unless you look like a baddie, you won't get great service here. The server was ambivalent and not welcoming. I got a dirty chai and taste was subpar. The ambiance was the saving grace; the patio area is super chill and relaxing with lots of seating.
google avatar

Melissa D.

Yelp
An awesome local spot for food and an outdoor place to set up and work, read a book, write in your journal, whatever. The terf and plants on the patio are a nice touch to make it feel like you're in an outdoor garden, and there are a few different types of seating (cushioned benches, regular tables with chairs, high tables with stools, etc.). Really just a super fun place to hang out, especially on a perfectly sunny LA day, and the food is delicious. I'm not a coffee person (totally lame, I know I know), so no comments there unfortunately.
google avatar

Nadia S.

Yelp
Cute cafe with outdoor seating (looked like there was indoor seating too but we sat outside). I was inspired to come here by an IG post with the cute coffee art. Ordered the espresso with regular milk and the art was super cute! I kind of wanted it in the regular mug versus paper cup for the full experience but got there I believe 30 minutes to closing and by then they said they only use paper cups. Husband got the chai tea latte which was also very delicious!! As another person mentioned it doesn't seem to be close to too many spots or a little less busy area. There are some eclectic type shops close by but I didn't spend long looking to see what other spots were past the coffee shop, just saw what we passed on our walk there. I think prices are comparable to other LA coffee shops. I would definitely recommend this place. Taste is spot on!
