Filipino Fast-Food Fried Chicken Favorite Jollibee Just Opened a New Bay Area Restaurant in Fairfield | Eater SF

"Taking over the lease at 2960 College Avenue, Cafenated Coffee Company — a local coffee shop launched in 2018 by Mak and Parisa Jamasbi — opened its second Berkeley location the first weekend of May; I saw this move directly follows Espresso Roma’s 2021 closure and marks Cafenated’s expansion in the East Bay." - Paolo Bicchieri

I’ve been here a few times, mainly because I’m obsessed with the cat. I came in planning to grab a chagacino and ended up ordering a matcha chagacino and a pistachio latte because why not? Both were 😋 the matcha had that clean boost and the pistachio latte was creamy and nutty in the best way. I also got The Caffeinated Breakfast and the Persian bagel on an everything bagel from Bouchik Bagels, and if you know, you know those bagels are 🔥. The dill cream cheese, cucumber, and tomato combo hit the spot. They had a couple kiosks down, so only one was taking cards, but the real MVP was Adura. He helped me figure out my orders on the kiosk and made sure everything went through. I also saw him helping the team like a total pro. Super polite, super helpful. Five stars just for his energy. Overall, the drinks I got were tasty, the food was solid, and the cat-themed cups always get me. I even grabbed a cat mug this time because obviously. I’ll definitely be back for another latte and one of those bagels again soon.

Large, spacious coffee shop on College Ave. I’ve been here twice, and it was packed both days, even on a holiday. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi didn’t work at all. I came in hoping to do some work on my laptop, but had to leave to another coffee shop for internet. Coffee is decent. Haven’t tried the food. Lots of tables, counter seats, communal table seats, sofa seats (a little awkward if you want to do some work.) It’d be 4 stars if their internet worked.

We just had a delicious lunch at Caffeinated Coffee on College Avenue & Ashby. Manuel recommended we get the Caffeinated Breakfast speccial with scrambled eggs, sliced avocados, potatoes and salmon( we could have also had it with bacon). I had mine either added cheese on my eggs and all three of us had a delightful lunch. Even their bathroom was beautiful!

Great work from home place with excellent coffee. But they really need to fix the WiFi. It’ll time out randomly and lock you for 12 hours. I would go here 2-3 a week to work remotely if I didn’t think the WiFi was so unreliable. Please fix this, the place would otherwise get 5 stars from me

Update: After trying their breakfast burrito a few months ago, I struggle not to order it every time I stop by for coffee. Great, hearty option to start your day right. Would really recommend al fresco dining out front, but unfortunately there's no umbrellas, so the patio can get very hot. So excited that Cafenated is in Oakland now. Ever since finding their Vine St. location, I’ve taken every opportunity to enjoy their backyard atrium. Although breakfast prices are quite steep, their coffee is strong and their selection of Starter-made pastries are just what you need for a strong morning start. The new location is bright, open, with plenty of indoor seating options - communal, single, or small group. Only a week since open and people with laptops already look like Cafenated is in their routine. The outdoor options are lacking - a single table for 4 and some narrow bench seating make it tight for outdoor lounging with your pup.

Good coffee, nice staff. But be prepared to wait on weekends. I ordered 2 drinks to go and it took 19 minutes for my order to come up

It’s expensive. It’s really good though! I don’t see myself visiting often just because there are many more affordable options nearby, but truly those options are second rate compared. The salmon Benedict is delicious!! So much flavor and everything is perfectly cooked and compliments each other really nicely. The waffles were also really tasty and special to have pineapple. The pineapple was really fresh and really juicy. We didn’t try and coffee because we were already racking in about $50 for a casual brunch. Yikes! I think if there are some more middle ground, affordable breakfast options on the menu, this place would really do well. For a sit down the atmosphere and the clients probably won’t come by that often, just being realistic. Have a $12 breakfast sandwich, make things more to-go than sit down, I’m sure you’d get more people interested.

As others might have mention, food and drinks are pricy but it’s a really good location and I’m sure rent and people don’t come cheap. The interiors are very well done and a good place to be on rainy days when you need to be out of your house. Coffee and foods are actually good.
