Lovely coffee shop! My hubby and I stopped by because we were both craving some coffee. The place itself was extremely nice and neat. A young man took our order and ran through the menu with us. The price seemed a bit high at first, but right after we tasted their authentic coffee, we figured out why. The coffee tasted delicious, although it wasn’t filled all the way. It was just enough to keep my hubby going for the day. If you are the type of person who is looking for something cheap and fast, this is not the place for you. I looked at some comments regarding their prices and the 'poor service' they received, but we need to understand that this is a small business. It's not a place where you go in and they give you something from a day before, they make it right in front of you. There are only 2 members working there, and they still manage to take their time with each and every customer. It's also a whole different culture, so it's reasonable to have people not be satisfied with their amount of coffee. I’ve had Colombian and Cuban coffee, and in most places, they only serve a very little amount. I give this place a 5/5; both my hubby and I were satisfied with our order the service & atmosphere.

I stopped into Cafetales for coffee and to get some work done, planning to head somewhere else for lunch—but I’m so glad I stayed. I realized they actually have a great selection of hearty, filling food options, and everything I tried was amazing. The almond croissant was hands-down the best I’ve had in Houston, the panini was delicious, and the coffee was not only beautiful but also tasted incredible. I ordered decaf since I can’t have caffeine, and honestly, I couldn’t even tell the difference—so good! The cafe is owned by a couple who are there every day, checking in on customers and making sure the quality stays high. You can tell they take real pride in both the food and the experience. It’s a perfect spot whether you’re working, reading, meeting with someone, or just relaxing. Bonus: the space and bathroom are both spotless. I’ll definitely be back!

This place is amazing! Their coffee is the best, and their food is incredible. I was planning to grab a light breakfast, but the avocado waffle was so good that I ended up ordering three desserts and another waffle for my wife. Overall, I’d rate this place a perfect 10. Juan and Liz are super friendly and always have great recommendations.

Google
Discovered the most charming coffee shop in the Westchase area this morning! We stopped in for an almond milk latte and walked out with two extra coffees and a mouthwatering chicken empanada for my husband. The owners were absolutely delightful, and the space is beautifully designed with plenty of room to relax, catch up with friends, or enjoy a quiet moment with a book. The service was excellent, the Colombian coffee was exceptional, music and vibe, perfect, and we're already looking forward to our next visit!

Google
An absolutely lovely coffee shop for a date or just to learn! Plenty of parking in the strip mall. I was a little confused with the Experiences versus individual coffee styles. Basically, if you order three different coffee styles, or three coffee bean types, they'll count it as an Experience (I think). I went with the V-60 and the Kyoto cold brew, both black, and shared with a friend. The V-60 was brewed in front of us, with the barista having a wonderful explanation of the expected flavor notes, the moderate brewing style carefully measured (15g coffee/210g water for a 1:14), and the method (two pours in series). They are very meticulous, down to the serving cup and warming cups to ensure no variations in oxidation. Lovely presentation and very informative. The V-60 was silky smooth, nearly like drinking a tea, and their standard coffee had notes of dark chocolate and citrus. The Kyoto cold brew was intense (was told it had over 200mg of caffeine), dark, and roasty. Both me and my +1 both loved the Kyoto. I also sampled my friend's Coquito Cold Brew and found it pleasant. Clear coconut notes with still intense cold brew underneath. Would definitely come back. Probably among my top coffee shops in Houston.

Google
This has to be one of the best, most authentic coffee experiences one can have in the US. What a great variety of coffee and the method choices of brewing were phenomenal. Preparation in both English and Spanish was a tour through coffee history, science and the art of it all. The deserts were also great. This place offers either just a great coffee drink or for the other methods available, a whole adventure into coffee. The end result is high quality coffee like a fine wine. Highly recommend.

Great spot! They nailed my thick coffee milkshake just the way I like it. Their frappé coffee menu is one of the most diverse I have seen. Staff was friendly, attentive, and knew their stuff. It's definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
When I think about craft coffee places in West Houston, this place definitely floats to the top of mind. I love that they're not just selling you hipster coffee, but they're truly invested in the art form that is coffee making. They have a plethora of coffee brewing methods and a rotational display of deliciously roasted coffee beans. If you want to learn about coffee, this is the perfect place to try out. I love that this place gives you the opportunity to dive deep into how the same bean, brewed differently can bring out different notes in the coffee. The owner is super friendly and does a great job of advising you if you're looking for something particular. I also loved that he takes the time to explain things as well. It's a good space to hang out and do some work while getting a cup of coffee. Just note that the storefront is all windows, so temperature can vary based on the weather outside.

Yelp
Tried an espresso drink this time; a nice Cortado with a dust of cinnamon. Wow! I just spent a week in Portland, OR and tried many small cafes and roasters, including Stumptown. (Fun trip) However, the flavor, texture and balance of my Cafe Tales drink was as good or better than anything I tried over there. So nice to have a more medium roasted espresso vs the standard burnt dark roast everyone else uses. It takes skill to dial in a good medium or light roast espresso. Ensuring the beans are fresh, water temp, pressure profile, grind size, wt ratio, it's an art. Love it

Nice inside. Plenty of parking outside and comfy seating inside. Delicious coffee with good recommendations for flavorings

Yelp
Got their iced latte with macadamia syrup. One of the best umami tones that I have had. Good service as well and casual ambiance. I would come back

Yelp
Cafetales is a very unique shop in town that offers artisanal coffee brewed in several different ways. They have roasted beans from all over the world as well as different brewing methods that you can experiment with. It may feel overwhelming to order from this menu, but the owner/baristas are very helpful with recommending drinks/methods that fit your taste preferences. They are very knowledgebale on what they specialize in, which I find rare and really apperciate. I ended up picking the syphon brew method, and the guy brought it over to my table and explained the entire steaming and brewing method. My cup of coffee that resulted had a rich, full body that was perfectly balanced. If I'm ever in the mood for an expertly brewed cup of coffee, this is the place I will be. Interior is very clean with plenty of tables as well.

Yelp
This Columbian coffee shop is one of a kind in presentation. The employees take pride in their work and display how brewing is not only a practice, but an art. After ordering, they bring a sophisticated-looking apparatus to your table and describe the details of their process as they make your coffee in front of you. They also serve a diverse collection of baked goods. As someone who is not particularly fond of caffeine and visits coffee shops for the vibes, I fixed my eyes here instead. For $4.30 and tax, the strawberry danish was undoubtedly worth my money. Multi-layered crisp and buttery goodness on the outside, soft and creamy jam on the inside. The interior is as welcoming as the service you receive. Contrasting colors of wooden, off-white, and black furnishings display a minimalistic but elegant look. You can choose to sit at a booth, high chair, or standard table. In addition, the internet speed clocked in at 560 Mbps down and 230 up with two laptop users -- impressively fast and unheard of for a coffee shop. Cafetales invites you to take things slow and stay a while. Every aspect of this shop has been crafted with intention and dedication. For that, it deserves an easy 5 stars in my book and a high likelihood that I will return the next time I'm passing through the Westchase district.

Yelp
If you're looking to treat yourself and ball out, this is the spot! Don't let the traditional interior decor fool you, you're not in for a traditional experience. I shelled out over 7 dollars for a tres leches cake (single portion) and forked over 13.80 for my smoked cold brew, and for that price I was crossing my fingers they snuck in a little booze! Also for that price, your peacock of a drink comes with a table side smoking that will fragrant the entire cafe for the next 10 minutes :). Intoverts, you've been warned. Now here's why I have 0 regrets in indulging in this experience. This place knows its coffee and takes pride in coffee as an art, something difficult to find without the pretentiousness! When I tell, the smile on the man (who is likely the owner's) face when talking about the process of the smoked cold brew was such a treat. He was beaming when I took my first sip taking pride in his art. You're not paying for coffee, you're paying for time, care, love, and experience. Because I root with every fiber of my being for spots like this to thrive, every now and again, I'm happy to indulge, bring a boogie friend, and treat myself to this really unique Houston gem!

Yelp
Such a cute little coffee place. First off I don't drink coffee but this is where our staff meeting took place ( we are a small company). They had many options for those who drink coffee and multiple milk alternatives. I had the aroma tea with red flavors! Delicious! Loved the presentation! Had 2 cups. Would come back just for the service and tea!

Yelp
Cute shop. Very interesting menu. Flat white was good. Ice latte was great. They even aerated the ice latte through a French press! It make the drink so smooth and creamy. Great place. Definitely a great place to explore your coffee needs!!

Yelp
Zero choices - only one medium roast. Cafe staff were super rude and suggested an Americano in lieu of a dark roast drip coffee. Environment was both sterile and loud. Coffee was reminiscent of hotel coffee. Would not return.

Yelp
Cafetales is a brand new coffee shop located off Westheimer. I went here on a lazy Sunday morning, and the atmosphere is just amazing. The *presumed* owner was extremely nice and informed me with a very detailed overview of their menu and its origin. I absolutely loved the interior and it was the first thing I noticed upon entry. You can tell they put a lot of detail and planning into their interior design. Cafe Tales has a very mellow vibe and I can definitely see myself working here or college students studying. +1 point for playing Louis Armstrong (I did a speech over him during my university days). I decided to play it safe and got a traditional iced caramel latte and an almond croissant. The latte was more bitter than I how I typically like my coffee, but the quality of coffee bean more than makes up for it. You can taste the richness of the bean and feel the caffeine surge through my body. The almond crossaint was also very tasty. Again, it wasn't the usual flaky-ness that I was expecting, but whatever they do, it works. The inside was very soft and has an amazing fil It's safe to say Cafe Tales is one of my TOP new coffee shops that I have tried in my time in Houston so far and I am looking forward to visiting again.

Yelp
I ordered the Crème Brûlée Cappuccino, and as a dessert lover, I really enjoyed it. It had a subtle zestiness, a smooth texture, and just the right amount of sweetness cnot overpowering at all. I'm looking forward to trying more of their lattes! Located in the Westchase area, this café is known for its Colombian coffee brand, which I highly recommend. The space is very clean, and they offer a variety of ways to customize your coffee. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, with a great mix of music that adds to the experience. Definitely a spot worth visiting!

Yelp
Great spot and the barista is very knowledgeable. Tried matcha latte and a regular latte and thought both were really well made - great ambiance inside too with space to hangout or work from

Yelp
This is a nice little Columbian coffee shop. I picked up a bag of beans from the Anolaima-Cundinamarca region of Columbia, very tasty and smooth. The bean bag has a lot of info on it. The coffee grower, origin, processing, how long it fermented and the drying process. Even the elevation it was grown at. They even have a cupping score which looks like a map. Most of which is way above my level of non-expertise. I kind of like seeing a roast date and this bag doesn't have one. We enjoyed a couple frozen blended drinks that were made very well, my wife had and barely shared a mocha version and I had a Hazelnut concoction that was just as good. They have a lot of interesting looking baked goods which I might try next time. The only reason I shy away from 5 stars is pricing. The drinks and beans were high.

Yelp
Specialty Coffee is what some reviewers fail to understand and this place is the best description of that. Its not your breakroom coffee brewing folgers. Its not Keurig cups. Its also not over burnt mass produced coffee like Starbucks. It even isn't your artisanal coffee that hipsters IG out of. Cafetales is a very elevated, niche and I suppose you can say artisanal, spot for those who venture out to discover new tastes in the different methods they use. The beans itself are from places that you can't get anywhere else. YES, the guy that helps you out at the counter is fantastic with his recommendations and is very upbeat about his product. On the other hand, the lady has got to have the meanest RBF around. I'm sure she does a great job brewing coffee, but it if looks can kill, I woulda been murdered. Pick your brew method and then pick your bean. Yes pricing is premium for this. Again, the name has 'SPECIALTY' coffee, its not NORMAL coffee. This place has rocketed to the top of my favorite place to go if I want a great brew.

Yelp
WOW!! This place is amazing, super cozy and friendly staff. Great coffee and desserts. Absolutely love this place. And I'm not a coffee person so this is Huge.

Yelp
Man what an amazing place! Not only is the coffee and the food good but it's also a nice experience. Like the way they explain how each coffee is brewed and explain the culture behind it, got to learn a lot here. Highly recommend

Yelp
The BEST tres leches I've ever had. It was so creamy, soft, and flavorful and the cream on top was delicious! The chocolate cake was rich and also very good! I would come back just for the cake!!
google avatar

Yelp
Affogato and Moca Milkshake were awesome! Heard about this place on Instagram (@houstonsgotspice). Owners are very nice people. We'll be back!

Yelp
35 minutes for two very small coffees. Pathetic service as there was hardly anyone there "Cream Brulé" just tasted burnt
google avatar

Joyce A.

Yelp
Try the Campesino. The table side presentation was a nice touch. I also enjoyed the beef empanada.
google avatar

Derrick A.

Yelp
I'm conflicted. On one hand, the guy who works there, I'm assuming the owner, is extremely nice. However, the girl who works there has extreme RBF, to the point where I felt awkward and unwelcome even being there. That being said, the coffee is good and they obviously put some time and thought into the menu. They offer most of the main third wave coffee techniques. But I'm probably not going back if I have to look at that scowling face again.
google avatar

Dominique R.

Yelp
Just paid $7 for a tiny mid cup of coffee. I would have given a 3 stars but the service was off putting. The barista made us late for our appointment because she kept making us smell different coffee beans. At first her passion for coffee was appreciated. However, we tried to tell her we were in a hurry but it was hard to get a word in. Eventually when we wanted to order one of the hot drinks as iced she scowled at us and said that we are not allowed to change the menu items. She then gave us an attitude for the rest of the interaction. So yeah great place if you're really pretentious about coffee but if you're a normal person do not come here.
google avatar

Morgan W.

Yelp
Here you can EXPERIENCE coffee! What a cool new coffee shop! This is a great place to work or study (as many were doing), and they have very very good coffee, made in a "hand-crafted" way. You can get the regular cappuccino (which was fab) and traditional drinks here, but what I recommend is getting one of their specialty coffee beans freshly ground and made in one of their hand-crafted ways, which they do AT YOUR TABLE and talk you through the process. It was fun to watch (and to smell the delicious aroma of coffee being made before you). The workers were also very nice. We'll be back.
google avatar

Tracy O.

Yelp
This was an experience unlike any other I've had. So many choices and so much fun. We tried the coffee lemonade which turned out to taste similar to key lime pie, delicious!! We also opted for the table side, smoked coffee. So much fun and the smoothest coffee I've ever had. The servers were very helpful and walk you through the process completely. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I arrived 5 minutes after their time posted open both on their door as well as every social media account and google listing and website.. they didn't open even after I waited 30 minutes.. I went to HeB and got groceries and came back... an hour after they were supposed to be open and still nothing.. there was 2 people inside who I'm assuming are workers, I knocked and they saw me and I pointed to the time on their door and they turned right around and ignored me.. terrible way to run a business. I don't live in the area and drove 20 minutes and decided to never come back here. If you can't tell your customers with accuracy when you are open and your workers or yourself can't bother to tell someone new hours when they knock, maybe you shouldn't be running a business.. and no there was no storms or power outages.. pic of me and another gentleman who also left disappointed.

Keenan S.

Yelp
Beautiful coffee. Ordered the V60, they'll do the pour at your table and inform you of what's happening every step of the way. Absolutely fantastic place.
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
I was in the search for a cafe to unwind at while my kids were in their activities. I'm not a coffee drinker so I chose a hot cocoa (admittedly with low expectations). Whoa! They have forever changed how I look at hot cocoa. Frothy with a hint of cinnamon! The croissant was flaky and airy with the perfect taste. Even at 4-5 PM on a Sunday evening this cafe had a steady stream of patrons all of whom were very happy and new patrons going out of their way to give the owner a compliment. I'll be back!

Nimrah P.

Yelp
If you don't just want to drink delicious coffee, but you also want to *experience* delicious coffee this is a must try. Quiet/chill coffee shop with a decent selection of basic and specialty drinks that are made with a variety of brewing techniques. We got the coquito cold brew made with coconut water/milk and the crème brûlée latte that was finished on arrival with a torch. Both had delicious flavors as well as a delicious coffee base. Can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Yelp
Incredible experience, you select your brewing method with plenty of options and the barista explains the process in detail at your table. Unmatched taste with plenty of food options as well. Great service, and great atmosphere, very Colombian authentic.

S K.

Yelp
Along with the gracious hospitality, we had an amazing coffee experience at Cafetales. We each explored various types of exquisite premium coffee that were definitely enchanting to our palette. I had the pleasure to experience the Campesino Coffee and the Blueberry Scone. First of All!!!! The Campesino Coffee experience was nothing but extraordinary. Second of All!!!! The warm blueberry scone was buttery & delightful.

Yelp
Nice interior with plenty of seats & parking. I went on a Wednesday afternoon & it's not packed at all. If you're looking for a place to study, get work done, or just catching up with friends, this is a good spot to go to! Drinks weren't too pricy. I got the macadamia latte for 6.50 with tax. Overall it tasted very yum! Not too sweet just perfect to my liking

Rose J.

Yelp
such a nice place to get your hot coffee, tasted so good. the employees were so sweet and helpful :). A calm environment where you can study and fast wifi aswell.

Naomi P.

Yelp
This place is lovely! The seating is nice, there are enough outlets so I can plug in my laptop and get work done. The service is wonderful, they have a lot of really cool options for drinks, and can tell you anything you want to know. I had a chai latte that was perfect.

Michelle W.

Yelp
The coffee here is one of the bests i've had!! The quality of the beans is super great, they hand make their own cream, strong beans but not bitter at all. The interior is very nice as well and the people here are very kind, This is a wonderful local coffee shop to love and support!
