Caffè Bene

One of my late-night latte regulars Not many cafés open late in the city (outside of places like Jaho or Dunkin). Caffe Bene is a Korean chain I used to visit back in middle school in Seoul, and even though the menu looks completely different now, there’s still a bit of nostalgia walking in. I usually go for the strawberry latte or the misutgaru latte. Both are closer to smoothies than traditional lattes, but they’re satisfying in that dessert-drink way. Sweet, thick, and easy to sip on while lingering for a while. The food side was just ok (except for bingsu). The Strawberry cheesecake tasted like it was liberated from a grocery store freezer and then held for ransom at a premium price. So skip the snacks, grab a “latte”, and soak in the chaotic, vibrant energy of a thousand BU and Northeastern students cramming for exams.

The matcha was not good at all. It was so powdery, didn’t blend. Couldn’t even have a bit. The person working there said matcha is little earthy and didn’t do anything about it. But no I’ve had matcha at every other place but this was bizarre This is the photo after 1 hr looks powdery

Amazing food and ample seating! Had the strawberry honey toast, a breakfast sandwich, coffee, and mango smoothie. Would highly recommend!

I’ve had great experiences for a while but this was a first from this place. Went to order an Asian shrimp sandwich with no cheese. Lady said that sandwich doesn’t have cheese and I pointed at the menu which clearly stated it did and said as long as it doesn’t have cheese. Then she goes to repeat the order stating no cheese also and I said correct no cheese. What do I get? Cheese. Nothing makes my blood boil when stressing the importance of dietary restriction has been made prominent throughout the interaction.

I am so happy I finally got to try this place! I highly recommend the peach yogurt smoothie, but my friend also really loved her mango peach smoothie. I also had the grilled cheese and it was pretty good too. I really want to try the shaved ice next time. I'm not sure if they have wifi, but I would definitely come here to study. I saw a lot of people coming here to study and I understand why they would come here. It's really nice inside, the music is nice and calm (not too loud), and the food and drinks are great too!

their coconut match drick is exceptionally good. It tastes like they use real coconut chunk and coconut condensed milk. So good also their shaved ice is amazing too! 여기 빙수 대박이에용...👍🥹망고빙수 추천

I've procrastinated a good 4 years on writing this review because I wanted to do it justice, so i might be a tad bias when i say: id like to give this place a 6/5 if i could. Like many other students, artists and academics on Mass Ave, i found a sort of second home in this place given the absurd amount of time i have spent here. There is an air of productivity and a positive work or creative energy that pervades this place throughout the day, so if you are feeling a creative block or unmotivated to work at home, I'd make a sincere recommendation to come here instead regardless of if you want to get things done, get ideas or just want some time to yourself. There is soft piano jazz playing all the time from some of the most niche artists I've ever heard, with plenty natural lighting in the day and scenery at night owing to glass walls and iconic location. Pair this with what is undoubtably the best Mocha in Boston and a really unique and delicious dessert menu, and you might understand why this place is the go to destination for so many people in the area. Given its popularity, location and originality, i would actually call this place a must visit landmark if you are coming to Boston. Its a unique experience that captures the essence of the city in a tiny cozy and picturesque corner in one of its most bustling parts. A special shoutout to Marco, John and the rest of the staff, for being among the most kind and friendly hosts I've ever had over so many years.

Loved this place. Just a stones throw away from Northeastern university and also right off the Symphony T station on the Green line. This place is filled generally with a lot of students and professionals alike. They have a separate space dedicated for work so you can boot up your laptops and get on with your job. The interiors have been very well done with great focus on lighting. I loved the Strawberries and cream waffle that paired very well with my vanilla latte. They have this thing called shaved ice parfaits which is very popular here. It’s for two or more people to share and with the looks of it, you better not try doing it all alone. Overall a wonderful experience.

I've been going to Caffébene for the longest time, ever since I was old enough to hop on the train to go into the city! Love, LOVE their mango bingsu! It's an item that they offer that I will continue to go out of my way for and definitely something that I always have to order whenever I visit Caffébene. It's amazing! Great flavor and all the ingredients are well balanced. Super refreshing & I highly recommend! I've tried other items as well that they offer, like smoothies and baked goods which are all very tasty, but I always find myself coming back for their mango bingsu, my favorite! Also, this is a great place to go if you're looking for a spot to get some studying done. Parking: can be tricky but there are meter parking spots around. Right by the Symphony Green Line station & Mass Ave Orange Line.

This is my go-to after Symphony plane to treat myself to an Earl gray milk tea and 3 macarons.... (yes, I'm a bit OCD about having the same thing almost every time) Honestly the primary reason I come here is because it's about the only thing open after the symphony or theatre at then Huntington (why there's not more of a cafe culture around anything hall wit all the concert goers and students I just don't understand ) The other reason is it's a chill, friendly and affordable place with a good range of dessert items, sandwiches and coffee and tea. (also a good place for a quick before symphony meal!) Definitely a highlight of the symphony neighborhood

Pretty solid option for matcha, but I wouldn't rush to go back. I appreciated the quick service and the interior was very charming with ample seating. I ordered a strawberry matcha with soy milk and liked the strawberry chunks in it and enjoyed that it didn't taste artificial, the matcha also had great flavor. Delicious matcha, but as a student not worth nearly $10. The sandwiches looked really good too and my friend really liked hers, but when they're the same price as the drink...a definite once in a while stop but I don't think I'd visit on a regular basis.

WOW! Just wow!! I tried the misugaru ice parfait, which had layers of shaved ice, red bean, misugaru (soy bean powder), vanilla ice cream, and mochi. This was HUGE and definitely worth it. It wasn't too sweet, the ice cream had a strong vanilla flavor that paired nicely with the red bean. I'm so happy to have found a spot for korean shaved ice! The workers are friendly and my order came out quick. This is a casual spot with a lot of seating too!

A book club I am a part of met here tonight and it was my first time going to this cafe. The inside was vibrant and cute. Lots of cool architecture! The spinach grilled cheese I had was absolutely to die for. Pretty reasonably priced too. I would definitely come back!

Such a nice cafe! Staff was super friendly and it's a great place to get some work done/study. The jazz music makes it feel cozy inside. Wifi is available and lots of tables and outlets. They also have a printer that you can use! Bathroom code is on the receipt. Right now they have a back to school promo deal happening! If you are a student and spend $15, you can get a free mug or tote bag. Earl Grey macaroon (7/10) - The flavor is strong so if you like Early Grey you might enjoy it. It was just a bit too sweet for my liking. I also wasn't that big a fan of the dried tea leaves that came on top of it. Peach Green Tea (9/10) The peach green tea 50% sweet was refreshing! I would get this again. Hazlnut Latte (6/10) Comes with bits of nuts in the drink. Not too strong of a flavor. It was more milky.

Convenient place located right near Symphony, with lots of cool parfaits! I haven't tried their parfaits, but their drinks, including the Fiji water at the register is really good. Decent place to come and decompress, my girlfriend and I came here after an evening out with friends - they are open till 11pm. Want to go back when I'm near the Mass Ave area!

Pre-theater stop, but a more popular hang for students and their computers. Ordered a $12 turkey "panini" (see photo and menu) that was really awful deli meat on toast. Counter person openly admitted that sandwiches weren't really paninis and that if they did have a press, it probably didn't work. Look elsewhere.

If you are looking for cafe places to study in Boston with plenty of electricity pockets, good desserts and chill music in the background, this place is your call. Unlike other cafe shop in Boston, this place close late . The parking situation is tricky. Not a lot of street parking. The employees are super friendly and nice. You will order up front and self sever.

I went here specifically for the Strawberry ice parfait, and it did not disappoint! First of all, it was beautiful. The ice cream on top was so rich and delicious. The dessert was light and refreshing as a whole. It was huge so I'd recommend splitting it between at least 3 people (I was only with 1 other person and we couldn't finish it). I didn't love the red beans in there so next time I'd probably order it without them.

I loved this cafe in Korea so I was really happy to see it in Boston. I loved their shaved ice (bingsu) and honey bread desserts in Korea but I came here after a very large and filling dinner so opted to just get a warm drink. 5/5 for their misugaru latte. If you haven't had misugaru, it's a Korean roasted multigrain powder drink that has a sweet, nutty, cereal like flavor and texture. This drink feels like a warm hug and it was so yummy here. My friend had a lavender latte and found that it had good coffee flavor but was too sweet. No stars deducted for this since I didn't try it. The interior of the cafe is spacious, clean, quiet, and very welcoming. I saw many students studying and drinking/eating here. I'd recommend for drinks, dessert, snack, and a good place to hang out or get alone time.

Their mango shaved ice is huge. Easily shareable and perfect for the summer. Mango chunks were fresh and the ice was milky flavored

Cute cafe for studying or a dessert date! My friend and I got the mango yogurt ice parfait (highly recommend this!) It was soo delicious, comparable to the ones I got in Korea. They are very generous with the fresh mango chunks. We couldn't finish this on our own, I reccomend bringing a couple friends to devour this with!

So good. classic korean bingsu, affordable for the quantity you get, quality is great. love going and sharing a bingsu with my friends. love the vibe and interior, always see people studying or working.

Had a spicy chicken wrap that was really good; the flavors blended together really nicely and the chicken was tender. I wish there were just a tad more vegetables. The chocolate cake mousse was a bit heavy but delicious nonetheless.

This place is really spacious and had quiet atmosphere to study. I got the shaved ice parfait mango which was good amount to share with three people!! The portion size was good and it tasted really good. They had a layer of yogurt, condense milk and mango which all went well together. There were different flavors to choose from too. The service was quick and the service was good. It was a nice dessert to have after a long hot summer day.

Friendly staff, woman at punter was exceptionally efficient. Good breakfast, neighborhood vibes. Bowls are huge, yummy waffles and good coffee.

Today was my first time at caffebene! My friend and I found it and wanted to give it a try, and it did not disappoint! We both got grilled cheeses (me the spinach and her the ham) and they were so yummy! We loved how they were waffle pressed! My friend also had a honeydew milk tea with lychee jelly, which was so delicious, and they gave so much jelly in it! Finally, we got the Mango Bingsu (Mango Yogurt Parfait) and this was INCREDIBLE! So yummy and refreshing and perfect for sharing. The music was also great and such cute decor and so much seating. Amazing place to study, hang w friends, and eat amazing food and treats! We will definitely be returning!

Yummy! The perfect combination of boba and sandwich! The teriyaki chicken is perfectly toasted , chicken is super juicy and super flavorful. I love the cheese that's melted and the combination is sooo good. The boba milk tea was OK. The boba was a little chewy. The milk tea was good. The ice parfait was my favorite part, it's literally a big snow cone. Not too sweet and the flavor was yum. I wish they had more toppings on this one because after the whipped cream was done it was so much ice.

They serve medium roast coffee, Bingsoo Shaved ice, Desserts, Hot & Cold Beverages & Breakfast sandwiches. Love the asian flavors offered like Green tea, Black sesame, sweet potatoes & Injeolmi (roasted soy bean). $13.45 Shaved ice was huge and is very shareable for 2-4 people! Got the Misugaru shaved ice, asked for extra misugaru powder and they gave noticeably more. Appreciate that. It had plenty of sweetened red beans and Mochi (which were not as soft as it should be though). Seating Getting a seat can be a challenge. Came for a late night quick snack. Most of the seating was still occupied (looked like students) just before closing but luckily there was one empty table for us. Located -on the south corner of Massachusetts Ave & St St Botolph St

Came here for dessert after visiting the MFA and were super happy to see it was open late. We ordered a caramel cinnamon honey bread and each got gelato. My partner got the vanilla bean gelato and I got the coffee flavor. We both agreed the flavor was good but the texture was just a little weird and icy. The honey bread was presented beautifully and my partner enjoyed it-- kinda tasted like french toast. Service was pretty fast and the interior is huge with a ton of tables & quiet atmosphere.

Lavender latte was pretty standard with just the right amount of sweetness for me. Staff was friendly. Great spot with plenty of seating to catch up with friends or do work at!

I've heard a lot of good things about this place and after looking at the reviews I was ready to be blown away. The experience was good not great. There were a lot of interesting items on the menu but the three items that I tried today were disappointingly mediocre. The white grape refresher was good but nothing really special that I'd find myself craving. This was the same with the strawberry mojito. Their bingsu however, exemplified their averageness. I'd say it wouldn't even be right to call it bingsu. The portion is big but most of the ice is flavorless. The flavors that it did have was again, good not great; a theme that appears time and time again. I'd come back since it's a nice place to just sit around and chat but if you're coming and expecting something amazing you're in the wrong place.

My favorite Korean cafe for shaved ice. I got the mango shaved ice and it saved me on a very hot day! Its shaved ice on the bottom followed by fresh mangos on the side topped with mango gelato on top. I have tried several of their shaved ice and I recommend the mango shaved ice and the green tea shaved ice. The service was nice and the vibes inside were many students studying.

Questionable quality of shaved ice, even by Boston's standards. The ambiance is suitable for studying, reading, but perhaps not loud conversations with friends (although it didn't stop us from engaging in that). Service was adequate, but they should reconsider whatever they're calling shaved ice. It is a bucketful of something though, if you're looking for quantity over quality. Support Korean businesses!

Great place to work. More quiet than not. Lovely space. I got a waffle and spinach grilled cheese. Too good. Somebody originally got if for me to go before they met me at Symphony Hall right across the street. Then I ordered it again when I got to go in person myself. Pictured also is a Strawberry Banana smoothie. Extremely accessible to public transport via Green Line.

Caffe Bene is a solid spot for when you want a place to chill with your friends or work on something. My friends and I arrived on Saturday afternoon and ordered at the front counter. They hand you a buzzer to let you know when your order is ready, and all dirty dishes can be dropped in the basin. I ordered the Caramel Cinnamon Honey Bread and Rose Latte. The rose latte came out looking really pretty, with rose petals sprinkled across the foam art. It tasted alright as I prefer a more fragrant coffee taste. The Caramel Cinnamon Honey Bread was quite filling for one person. It is a great dessert and surprisingly does not taste overly sweet. I enjoyed how fluffy and big the bread is, although its exterior was a bit crispier than I would have preferred. By the time it hit later in the afternoon, the café filled up pretty quickly with students, making it harder to find a free table. Overall, all their stuff is pretty alright minus the bingsoo. They have an extensive menu, so I would come by again to try their other drinks, desserts, and sandwiches.

i ordered the mango yogurt bingsu. the yogurt on top completely ruins it. idk what i was expecting, maybe a yakult flavored topping, but definitely not an unsweetened and sour greek yogurt. the ice cream on top is a different mango flavor than the mango syrup, and they don't rly complement each other imo. the amount of mango was good and the mango syrup is good, but the yogurt ruined the whole dessert a mango and condensed milk bingsu or mango with panna cotta bingsu would be way better. if u order this, ask for it without the yogurt.

This place was close to our Airbnb and we lucked out! It was a great quiet place to come enjoy a slow morning wake up with coffee and food. The service was quick and kind! We grabbed coffee from here several mornings just because w liked it so much. If you're living in the area or visiting definitely check it out

Farmhouse/industrial chic meets dessert! So cute inside and plenty of menu options to please everyone. I've had the ice parfait twice now and was impressed by the size and the generosity in toppings and fillings so that there are never just bites of ice. Like other reviews say, the ice is chunky unfortunately. It's spacious inside with plenty of seating along with tables, outlets and free WiFi so there is a decent number of people quietly working in there or having conversations. There is the occasional loud person from Mass Ave...

I think Caffébene is such a cute spot! I've been here twice and had great experiences both times. I once came with a friend and we shared the mango shaved ice/ bingsu and it was delicious! It definitely hit the spot! The ice cream, shaved ice, and mango were delicious but my only complaint is that the yogurt threw off the flavor profile it was a little too sour tasting for us (maybe it was greek yogurt?). I think a traditional condensed milk or a sweeter yogurt would have been better we ended up eating around the yogurt. But overall still delicious and I would order it again. I came another time on my own to have lunch and do some work. I ordered an iced hazelnut latte and a teriyaki chicken sandwich. I was very excited about the latte since the hazelnut syrup is housemade but it was not as flavorful as I was hoping. However, it was still really creamy and I did enjoy it, the flavor was a little too subtle for me. The teriyaki was great, it was very light yet still filling so it was a perfect lunch sandwich. I wanted the teriyaki flavor to be a little stronger so maybe next time I would try the spicy sandwich instead. Caffébene is also perfect for doing work. I sat at the window seat for a few hours and the ambiance was perfect. Not too loud with a nice amount of white noise from other people chatting and doing work. Overall, I would come here again and enjoy this cute spot!

Where's this Caffe Bene all my life? I'm always a big fan of these chains, this particular chain anyway, which are Korean dessert cafes, and are absolutely delicious, but very very overpriced. Honestly a lot of this type of stuff is overpriced even at other Asian bakery chains these days, so it's not a big deal. I like the drinks a lot, whereas the pastries are usually a little more mediocre. I definitely highly recommend checking them out when you're in this fancy college neighbourhood of Boston, especially if they're right next to a Kung Fu Tea, which is one of my favourite places.

This is a cute space and definitely a convenient spot for students to come study and eat here. The spots fill up quickly but I've had a pleasant experience. Food and drinks were overall great! The ice parfait was good. I wish it had a little bit more flavor but I loved the grilled cheese!

I had cappuccino and chocolate cake. Coffee is good. Cake was good but not great. Atmosphere is nice and there are random books to read.

I ordered the Mango Iced Parfait and it was delicious! The size is definitely made for 2+ people to finish. I ordered and maybe 5 minutes later is was ready along with my green iced tea. The place seats a good amount of people and is filled mostly with studying/working peoples. I felt super comfortable sitting on my own. The employees assured me that I could take anything to go. They put my iced parfait in the freezer while I finished my tea. Then when I was ready to go they packed my iced parfait with ice so it saty. The only slight in consistency was the bathroom. It wasn't very well kept but nonetheless, overall, I had a great time here.

We came here for a BTS 8th anniversary cup sleeve event! Great location, but a bit small inside with absolutely no parking at all. Street parking is a nightmare and I have never seen an available space. We decided to Uber there which was pretty decent from our place in Brookline. We had our favorites, the honey walnut bread, and strawberry bingsoo to eat and they both were amazing! Super refreshing on a hot day! My friend had a croissant as well, which she said was just okay. My mother and I got iced chai lattes which were great and not too sweet. We will probably come back, but only for another cup sleeve event as the parking is just too hard.

Such a cute place to hang out and study. The portion of the Mango Parfait (which is actually a Bingsu) is massive. It could definitely feed at least three people. They loaded the parfait up with a lot of fresh mango, condensed milk, and shaved ice, but it was really easy to get tired of eating of. The drinks here are also alright. The Strawberry Mojito had a lot of mint flavor at the top while the bottom was just a mound of strawberry syrup. Refreshing but not something I could see myself getting everyday. Caffébene is a cute and aesthetic place to hang out but the food and drinks aren't exactly mind-blowing.

This place is more of a 2.5 The place had a nice seating area, the workers were friendly, and the bingsu was pretty! But the taste of the matcha bingsu was really bland. The texture was also not what I expected. The ice chunks we're big. Although it was really big, it didn't taste very good. After eating the ice cream, red bean, and whipped cream, there was a lot of plain ice still. It was hard to eat the ice after all the toppings were gone. The bingsu was really different from the other bingsu places I've tried. We ended up not finishing the ice because it was just too much and lacked flavor. They had other items that looked good though.

This was my second time going here and there was a cup sleeve event happening. The event was great but there were no seats available. I got a latte and I had to stand to drink it so that's a minus. The overall vibe of the place is nice and I like the location. The servers were nice and they were helpful. My latte was done in less than 5 minutes despite the crowd so that's a plus. I would like to come back at a time when it's not crowded though. Overall, 4/5

caffébene is my hidden gem! i love coming here to read a book or to knock out some work. they have so much seating throughout the caffe. my favorite is the raised area towards the back that looks like a library! make sure to come early if you want a table as they fill up fast, especially during the semester when college kids are in town. all their coffee is fantastic, but i love their vietnamese coffee. i cant remember what it's called and i really wish i did. the sweet employee at the front recommended it to me and i loved it so much!! they have so many food and drink options. i also love that when people aren't actively eating or drinking, everyone puts their mask back on. very covid friendly.

CafféBene is a nice café with a pleasant atmosphere and pretty good snacks! It is spacious and has many tables, making it a great place to sit with friends. They also have spots that look like they'd be great for studying! I've mostly only gotten beverages here (things might have changed, but I wasn't a fan of their bubble tea), but on my most recent visit, I got a latte and tried their pineapple bun. The coffee was great, and I liked the pineapple bun as well! It was quite large (probably around 1.5x the size of a normal Chinatown bun) but was lighter, a little less sweet, and had a different topping from the pineapple buns I've had. Unfortunately, it was a little over two times the regular pineapple bun price, but that is somewhat to be expected in this area of Boston. It's a super cute café, and I'd recommend coming here for coffee and a snack with friends!

I tried the Misugara Frappe and Latte first time. Misugara is a mix of different kind of oats and grains. I really loved the Misugara Frappe and definitely would order it again. It tastes like a healthy drink, reminds me very much of oats! Also, I enjoyed the plain waffle. I only had time for a snack break and these totally worked for me! I will return for more. :)

A South Korean-based café, Caffe bene is a cute location not in many places in the US, with unique drink and dessert options. Waffles, honey bread, gelato, mountainous shaved ice (also called bingsu), etc, this cafe is great to go to for a special treat or dessert after lunch or dinner. I've tried the green tea bingsu, which is huge with a generous dollop of whipped cream on top and totally worth the money! For drinks, they have excellent matcha latte and misutgaru latte that I would recommend trying if you have a sweet tooth. With plenty of wooden seating and wifi, it's also great for students to go to and study (if you don't mind background music). Their customer service has also always been great, with kind people. Worth a drop in at least once!

Great location at Symphony. I love their selections of pastries and drinks. I ordered their condensed milk with toast and it was heavenly. Not too sweet, great portion and I love the crunchy crust. Very chill place.

If your looking for a fun hangout space for friends, cozy study area, or just a fun place to go then Caffe bene is the right place! I've been here with friends multiple times, and it never disappoints. It has a friendly and calming environment, with great food. What could be better? Free wifi for all guests, and numerous amounts of outlets for phones and computers. Highly recommend this place!!

So grateful this place is still open for dine in during COVID. I came in here on one morning weekend to study with a friend. I ordered the chai latte, blueberry muffin, and strawberry bread. They seemed understaffed because our drinks took a while to make while another group of customers came in and were ordering. The chai latte was very sweet, and the muffin was nothing out of the ordinary. However, the strawberry souffle was pretty good but more firm and dry than what I expected (I thought it would be fluffy). If the weather was warmer, I would have liked to try their bingsoo next! I like the variety of seating options and it's a great place to hunker down and get some work done.
