The only "Caffè" about this place is the name.
So I don't know if this is the same franchise as the Korean one (e.g., Bay Ridge location) or it's just carrying that name...
I walked in expecting to smell coffee and beans, but the whiff that overcame me was kitchen grease.
Their menu design is slightly over whelming with items; I mean, okay. So I took a while to read it.
Some guy who was very fixated on his cell phone gave me the expression to "hurry up and order" but, like, think about it. It's 20° out there. I need to defrost.
Sooo I came here looking for a sandwich with bean sprouts (it's one of the sandwiches Caffe Bene has) --it wasn't there. That's fine. I went with a spicy chicken somethin'.
Sandwich itself starts out as a 5/5. I loved the bread; the crush was crunchy but the loaf was fluffy!!! That's what I like!! The taste was strangely similar to Starbucks Mercato's Honey Siracha sandwich. Just really with better bun.
My sandwich ended up falling out like crazy, I'm not sure if it was packed in a hurry or what.
But the taste was good. Lol 😂😭
Comment on the staff. They seem to be arguing with one another regarding some online order... awkward. The guy who took my method of payment clearly wanted to be somewhere else and not working there, but the one who made my sandwich was more friendly.
There's another guy too; he was restocking. I didnt have any interactions with him.
The cafe itself was dead when I was there. Literally nobody was there. There was a woman, she was just on her laptop. No drink or anything.
Weird place, vibe is strange and not the same as the other Caffè Benes I've frequent. Dress code and store design is completely different. This is just a glorified deli with seats and a bathroom named Caffè Bene..
*the place my sandwich was served on didn't even have their logo (see picture)
