"This restaurant boasts an outdoor terrace overlooking one of the most beautiful squares in Verona, plus an equally attractive 19C-style room for indoor dining. It serves a selection of typical local and Italian dishes, with an emphasis on grilled main courses and a careful selection of high-quality meat." - Michelin Inspector

We arrived at 7pm & were welcomed warmly. We placed our order and the sommelier arrived at our table to explain our wine choice. He was very knowledgeable. This was followed by several courses of amazing food - Worthy of a Michelin Star! The Service was impeccable. All three courses were outstanding. If you are in Verona do not miss this opportunity. The negative reviews we see online seem incomprehensible with our experience?

Very disappointed. Returning for our 10th wedding anniversary after hosting our wedding reception here - not that this made any difference except to turn some lights on to take photos. My husband had taken a long time to find this restaurant again (I had a surprise wedding), and the restaurant venue had been organised by our wedding coordinator. We chose to eat inside because of our previous memories. The service was not great and certainly not fast. ( I also didn't appreciate stale smoke breath from what appeared to be a senior member of staff.) The restaurant definitely wasn't very accommodating for allergies. I was served the wrong food and ended up eating once everyone else was finished. Because of the fuss regarding allergies I hadn't realised that sides needed to be ordered separately, and waitor didn't point this out, so I ended up with 2 small lamb chops after my leaves with flowers starter. It all took so long and not in a pleasant, food experience, wonderful ambience kind of way. A basket of cold bread rolls sat on the table with some breadsticks, but no oil and vinegar and no side plates. Everyone else's food was ok but not exceptional. As I said, the whole experience left us very disappointed but we did manage to get some photos and show the restaurant to our children as they were too young to remember being there for the wedding.

Went there for dinner with work colleagues after a conference we were attending. Simply amazing place with really tasty food and nicely decorated dishes. It is a bit expensive but some of the dishes I had (like the risotto with squid ink) was one of the tastiest risotti I have ever had!

It was a unforgettable afternoon in this beautiful spot in Verona. My first time in Italy was magnificently crowned with this incredible restaurant. Service is kind and friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. I had a very happy moment while having our meal there in a hot summer day listening to a local musician playing the classic ones with his little accordion. I will definitely be back if traveling to Verona again and a must!

Food here was amazing, although it was a bit of a quiet night. It's not a cheap restaurant but I highly recommend it. Sadly one of the local rose seller guys kept coming in pestering the tables but the waiters did get rid of him.

The food was nice, the athmosphere inside was also very lovely, but in my opinion a bit overpriced for what it is offered. The wine list was really great but the service was not as I expected.

Google
It’s technically a 4,5. A very nice Michelin place, great wine list, food was quite good apart from one mistake, they didn’t charge me for it. I did find it the service a bit weird: at first they didn’t want to sit me for no particular reason, that was quite confusing and the staff wasn’t particularly friendly, not sure why as well. Will come back and recommend this place.

Edit: So good we came back for lunch. Juliette the waitress and Gabrielle the somm are amazing. My companion said “The tartare would be my last meal” Amazing food in an upscale but laidback environment. The Beef Tartare was the best I’ve ever had in all of Europe. Creative plates at a good price. The waiter was friendly and attentive. The Somm recommended a great bottle of wine in the local region. Gave us just enough information to make a good choice and know a little about what we were drinking, without any level of pretentiousness. Obvious he could talk a lot more about wine but picked up on our needs. Well behaved kid and dog friendly. Thinking about going back for lunch just for the tartare.

Yelp
What a lovely evening! My wife selected Caffè Dante on Piazza dei Signori. When we arrived with prenotazione, the host had he perfect greeting: "Your table is right over here, sir." It was a beautiful night and we were outside on the plaza. Our waitress was very professional and helpful. We skipped the appetizer and went right to the primo -- ravioli in a lovely sauce made with mushrooms (funghi). The segundo was grilled trance di ricciola -- it translates as amberjack. For dessert sbrisolona with grappa. Sbrisolona is a kind of crunchy. crumbly tart. Perfect for my taste: not overly sweet. Caffè Dante -- at the foot of Dante"s statue -- is an elegant, upscale restaurant. While most of the clientele when we were there were foreigners, there were a fair number of Italians as well. The inside dining rooms are beautiful. A number of the Yelp reviews complain about the prices. Dante is not for you if you're on a tight budget. This is a foodie meal, not typical Veronese cuisine. And it is far less expensive than the equivalent restaurant in Atlanta -- especially with the wine and grappa. This was much more than a meal; Dante was a lovely experience. I'm smiling thinking about Caffè Dante Bistro as I write this review.

Yelp
We came across Caffe Dante via the Michelin Guide and made a reservation a few weeks ahead. Had high hopes and definitely beat our expectations from service to food and all other aspects. We were greeted warmly and was seated promptly. Service was attentive but we never felt rushed (we really took our time) and had a long conversation with our server on the bottle of wine we ordered. She was super knowledgeable and hospitable. For our lunch, our first course was the steak tartare: hand cut tartare with excellent texture, generous portion, seasoned well, with a half soft boiled egg (omg, that egg was amazing! I can eat a dozen of that myself) Second course was the Amorne wine risotto: cooked perfectly Al dente and was the star for sure! Third course was the slow cooked veal belly, tender, flavorful, was also a 5 star dish. Beware when you look at the other 1 star review "bitching" over a Euro charge on bread. Use common sense, be reasonable, come to Caffe Dante !

Yelp
No coffee at this "cafe" - it used to be for great artisti now only for chooches and douches.

Yelp
Avoid. Service is horrible! Risotto needed salt. Veal chop was not spectacular for the price and the rocket garnish was dry. Olive oil would have improved that but not offered. The bread was AWFUL. The women servers we encountered were nice but the bald Italian man with glasses was so RUDE. Sad that this was our only dinner in Verona and was a huge disappointment. Oh, and the wine by the glass pours were under 4 oz.

Yelp
With so many restaurants in or near the piazza we were lucky to pick Caffe Dante. Food and service were excellent, and we enjoyed the lively outdoor atmosphere. Our waitress was charming and had an interesting discussion with us about the wine. So far the best meal on our trip.

Yelp
Tourists beware: this restaurant has a few hidden charges. The bread cost is listed as 3€ per person But they charged us 4 instead on the receipt. We got that reverted to the right number, and they cited it as an "honest mistake" They only have bottled water, and charged one of our bottles as sparkling when it clearly wasnt. I only realized this now because I thought someone else ordered it. Another charge that was baffling was an extra 5€ per person charge for using olive oil and vinegar with the bread. Their reasoning for not communicating that is that their stuff is high quality. They were really stubborn on this one even though it wasnt on the menu, and the server brought in his buddy who was pretty stubborn about it so we just let it go. Food is pricy and flavorless for what it is priced. The other reviews on here are right about how bad this place is. Dont get bamboozled like I did and check out the other real local places. Overall, this place will add random euro charges here and there in small amounts expecting you to not notice. If you do go here, be sure to ask whenever they offer you something if its free or not. Get a clear answer from a server who can speak English well or they will cite it as "miscommunication"

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in Italy so far. Great service, delicious risotto, and extraordinary views. I wandered around the streets of Verona for about an hour, trying to find a good result have a good service. But could find neither. So frustrating. I stumbled upon this restaurant when I was wandering to go find some good risotto, as I am only in Verona for one day. These people were very patient with me and let me sit at the table for about an hour before ordering, and then brought the most amazing risotto.... My Italian gym friend INSISTED I have risotto in Verona (not many people know it's famous for its risottos), so, after browsing about eight different restaurants, I stumbled upon the quaint Caffè Dante in Piazza dei Signori (from earlier!). I enjoyed the people watching and had the risotto all'amarone with Monte Veronese cheese fondue Let me just say I wasn't even hungry after all the food I ate today, but it was a MUST! It was so rich and yummy- northern Italian cities, especially this one, are known for the special way they cook rice in butter, onion, broth, and wine, and top it with cheese- AKA RISOTTO! I love the interior decor, too, with its wine bottles, framed paintings, cute meats hanging, and overall Italian vibes. Great outdoor table with music and decent prices. Bravo! 5 stars. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Seriously friendly service. Good portions. Good food. Beautiful setting in Piazza Del Signori. Prices reasonable for most of menu. Extensive wine list. Great stop to soak it in as a tourist. The only thing even though patio is full of umbrellas but still in sun so still warm but great for cooler months.

Yelp
Take it with a grain of salt, most of the glowing reviews on tripadvisor weren't written during VinItaly. Dine here during VinItaly, you'll see why it's anything but. I was much happier with my dining experience at La Cantina 15, off Piazza Bra. Better food, much better value!

Yelp
Really really bad restaurant. Waited one hour for our service. After we waited, the food didn't even come all together. All the pastas tasted like water. The fish was bad. The only thing good was the ham, which is widely over priced. It was really so bad, that half of the ten headed group we were with gave the food back without even eating it properly. Cannot recommend at all. But try the restaurant right next to it! It's packed and looks really good.

Emma-Louisa W.

Yelp
This was honestly disgusting food, not only did we wait for about an hour, when the food arrived nobody ate anything except for the ham. Do not, I repeat, do not eat here!! This is probably one of the only restaurants in all of Italy that tastes truly bad. It's also very pricey, considering the fact that every meal, including the seafood, pasta and salad, were inedible.
