Best Restaurants and Bars Around TD Garden | Eater Boston

"Located on the outskirts of the North End — and still within sightline of TD Garden — is Ducali, a charming Roman-style pizzeria that has been slinging pies for over a decade. Pair the pizza with a pint from a respectable lineup of New England beers on tap. And if you get there before 4 p.m., grab an espresso from the charming Italian-style espresso bar, Caffé Ducali." - Erika Adams

Happy to check this one off my list of discovering new coffee shops in Boston. Conveniently a short walk away from North Station. Good mix of teas, coffee, and espresso options. I got the vanilla latte and it was perfectly sweet where I still taste the coffee. Will try the pastries and breakfast options next time!

The young man at the counter was polite and cheerful. Received our food quickly, the bagel was nicely toasted, bacon crisp and egg was not runny. I added an expresso shot to the drip coffee to give it a little kick. We would definitely go back.

Uninspired. The staff were not at all pleased to have a job. The gelato was pretty poor quality compared to other places. It was squarely average. I wouldn’t return if I could help it.

Caffé Ducali – North End’s Go-To Spot for a Proper Italian Coffee Alright, listen up—if you’re in Boston and you haven’t hit Caffé Ducali yet, you’re seriously missing out. This ain’t your basic chain coffee shop—this place is the real deal, bringing that authentic Italian café experience right to the North End, and let me tell ya, they do it right. The Coffee – Absolute Perfection First things first—the coffee. Flawless. They serve up rich, smooth espresso that’ll wake you up better than a slap from a Southie grandmother. Whether you’re grabbing a classic cappuccino, a strong macchiato, or one of their seasonal lattes, every sip tastes like it came straight outta Italy. And if you’re more of an iced coffee kinda person? They got you. Their iced drinks are bold, smooth, and never watered down. No burnt nonsense like some other places we won’t name. The Food – More Than Just a Coffee Shop Now, you come here for the coffee, but let me tell ya, you’ll stick around for the food. They’ve got a rotating selection of fresh-baked pastries that actually taste homemade—flaky, buttery, and just the right amount of sweet. The breakfast sandwiches? Forget about it. Perfectly toasted, stacked with high-quality ingredients, and exactly what you need to start the day right. And if you swing by for lunch, they got paninis, fresh salads, and their famous Roman-style pizza al taglio (by the slice). And this ain’t just any pizza—it’s crispy, airy, cheesy goodness that’ll make you wonder why you ever settled for anything less. Bonus points for the fact that it comes straight from their sister spot, Ducali Pizzeria & Bar, which is already legendary. The Vibe – Cool, Clean, and Classy You walk in, and it’s got that sleek, modern, but still welcoming feel. White subway tiles, marble countertops, and huge garage-style windows that flood the place with light—it’s the kind of spot where you wanna sip your coffee slow and soak in the atmosphere. It’s got that perfect mix of European café culture and classic Boston charm. The Service – Friendly, Fast, and No Nonsense Boston service can be a hit or miss, but here? They treat you right. The baristas actually know what they’re doing, and they move fast—but not in a “rush you out the door” kinda way. They care about what they’re serving, and you can tell. Whether you’re a regular or a first-timer, they’ll make you feel at home. The Verdict – Must-Visit, No Excuses Look, bottom line—Caffé Ducali is the kind of place Boston needed. It’s got killer coffee, bomb food, and an atmosphere that makes you wanna hang out all day. Whether you’re grabbing a quick espresso on your way to work, meeting up with friends, or just looking for a solid spot to sit and enjoy a great cup of coffee, this is the place to be. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Easily one of the best coffee spots in the city. Go once, and I guarantee you’ll be back.

What a cute gem in the North End! Amazing coffee and even more amazing service. Their fall seasonal menu is exquisite! All the syrups are made in house so you can count on an authentic cup of coffee! Marina made our coffee and she was so sweet. Will definitely be coming back.

Google
The pizzeria is by far the best restaurant we’ve been to on our trip so far - the “nachos italiano” specifically are amazing and very original, highly recommend! Staff were lovely and very attentive.

Google
Cute spot for a quick coffee and something small to eat. The menu has a small list of available items but it is tasty for what it has. A few tables inside to dine in.

I ordered a tea, and bagel with cream cheese. The cream cheese was only put on the bottom half and nothing on the top making it very dry. The milk was put into the tea before it brewed which made for hot milk rather than actual tea. There were no other customers in there so it wasn't as if they were busy. It felt like a "serve and get out" atmosphere.

Yelp
The best way to describe this cafe is "inconsistent." It's great to find a friendly cafe that's open early in the North End with strong espresso. But depending who's behind the bar, your drink will vary. A "macchiato" on one day was the size of a latte. A "cortado" a week later was essentially a macchiato. Don't even think about disputing this with the barista. The prices listed on the board are not always what you pay, either. Most of the time, the coffee costs more. And the hours are wonky, depending on the day of the week. If you only visit once, you'll probably enjoy the coffee. Become a frequent customer and you'll start noticing the differences.

Yelp
Amazing coffee, local pastries, fresh and delicious pizza, and friendly service. You couldn't ask for more!

Yelp
Ordered a chi latte and bf ordered egg and cheese sandwich. My chi latte had no taste whatsoever. The only flavor the sandwich had was of a charred grill. Would not recommend
