Habit Burger Grill Op - Eater Seattle

"Caffe Ladro is celebrating its 25th anniversary in style. The mini-chain — on Eater Seattle’s list of Essential Coffee Shops — just opened up its 16th location in Ravenna, on the corner of NE 65th Street and Brooklyn Avenue. The new outpost has outdoor seating and, of course, all the usual items on Caffe Ladro’s extensive menu, including tumeric lattes and baked goods (rum-soaked almond croissants, gluten-free cranberry cakes, for example) made in-house. There’s also another Caffe Ladro spot planned for Kirkland later this year. Status: Certified open." - Megan Hill

Where to Drink Coffee on Seattle’s Eastside | Eater Seattle

"More than 20 years in, this local chain is a Seattle coffee classic, with original coffee specialties like the medici (an orange zest mocha) and shakerato (coffee and simple syrup shaken over ice) bringing customers back day after day. With outdoor seating and the waterfront just around the corner, the roaster’s cozy Kirkland cafe is a convenient stop for sporadic sunny days, while moody blue walls and a chalkboard bar give the cozy interior some flair for taking cover when the weather turns." - Maggy Lehmicke

Google
My favorite coffee chain in Seattle. This place was completely empty when I went at 10 am on a Sunday. The staff was super friendly and as always the coffee was delicious. They have a variety of food and drinks with even energy drink options. I highly recommend stopping in if you are in the area.

This is the Perfect neighborhood coffee shop. Easy access to those who live in the area, or if you want to stop in for Great food and Delicious coffee. The staff are all super nice, and the space is Excellent! For a meeting, to study or just for some good food and drinks. I will be back, and I suggest you try it as well. 😃

Google
My go-to coffee shop chain !! I love, love, love Ladro! I’ve been going to this coffeehouse for I have to go in at least every other week for their delicious frozen drinks (frozen matcha in the lead) & their special Southwest Breakfast Burrito. 😍 I’m always welcomed with really sweet employees & the atmosphere is great at every ladro chain i’ve been to. I’m looking forward to try the Ladro Coffee Blend next.

Google
Cute little neighborhood coffee bar with limited assortment of pastries. Server was very friendly, prices were a little high, but now days everything seems too expensive and Lord knows that corner lot isn't cheap on the rent.

Google
Great place for an even better cup of coffee! Brand new in the Roosevelt neighborhood - opening day May 1, 2019. It’s the first day...and a steady stream of curious folks seeking a sensational afternoon sip of liquid satisfaction kept stopping by...like this delicious iced caramel macchiato! Lots of inside and outside seating available. On the corner of NE 65th St and Brooklyn Ave NE.

Waited for one shakerato for “20-minutes” at a quiet cafe. We came up to the counter like 10 minutes after, and was told the coffee was not ready and they’ll call it out. However, we saw some customers ordered and got their coffee right away. Coffee came out like this in the picture and skinny barista lady with blonde hair, hair tied, kept making excuses saying they called out at least twice and we did not hear it. If she knew, she could have mentioned it to us on her way to the bathroom. I’m sure they were chitchatting up until making our shakerato not doing their job. Or her colleague made it and sit it there for a while, not called it out. And she offered us another coffee. But I don’t think so. You’re gonna keep us another 20 mins. That’s not gonna make any difference. Plus, I’ve never seen a shakerato like this ever in my whole life. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time and it’s our first time being treated like this. You should improve your customer service standard and not tell customer delayed coffee is customer’s fault. Worst experience.

Google
Great place, great coffee. This Cafe Ladro has a great flow with lots of natural light and a friendly ambiance. Nice outdoor seating options too. My only complaint is that prices are a bit on the high side.

The coconut cardamom Latte and the ham egg cheese quiche were very delicious. Great friendly service too, highly recommend it.

Yelp
I stopped by Caffe Ladro the other day to grab a cappuccino, and it was a pretty good cup of coffee. It was smooth and enjoyable to drink. I asked for the drink extra hot, which can be a hit or miss at some places but I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually really hot. The service is fast and friendly and the vibes inside are cozy. I went on a Saturday and it wasn't too crowded, so this seems to be a good place to go to if you need a place to study or somewhere to catch up with someone. They also have an assortment of food. I had a chocolate chip cookie that I enjoyed, it was thick and chewy. I would definitely stop by Caffe Ladro again when I'm in the area!

Yelp
Caffe Ladro in Ravenna is a cozy, pretty simple spot for a quick coffee. I visited on a Monday morning around 11am, so it was super quiet with just two people and one barista working. The café has around 20 seats, including a mini couch, a table in the middle, and a few seats by the window. It's the type of place where you might end up sitting right next to someone, so be prepared to make a new friend! The vibe was definitely more for people who need a quick place to work and not for big groups and loud conversations. Parking on the side street that it's on is limited, but I was able to find a spot easily around the corner since there's free 2-hour parking in the neighborhood. You'll need to ask for a key to use the bathroom after you order. They sell coffee beans and a selection of merchandise, along with a small range of pastries like muffins, cookies, and quiche. You order your drinks, and then you have the option to customize them with syrups and drizzles. The ordering process was quick and simple. I had an old gift card to use, and they had to transfer the balance to a new system, which is now linked to my phone number. Overall, it's a good spot if you're looking for a quiet coffee break, but it's not exactly the most exciting place to linger for long. Lastly, I ordered a latte with a white peach flavor. Which was subtle. Didn't really stand out like I hoped. Went with something different because why not! I also had their quiche which had veggies and goat cheese and that was magnificent. Highly recommended. Food ranges from 5-8 dollars and lattes range around 6 dollars. I had the jumbo which is 20oz.

Yelp
I stopped by caffe ladro to study with a friend! I know there are multiple locations around seattle and i've been curious to try this place for a while. I thought it was just okay in terms of the atmosphere and drinks. I ordered the 12oz medici ($7.17) which is their orange mocha! It was one of their signature drinks and the cashier let me know it was on the sweet side. I thought it tasted quite smooth and had good flavor but I thought it was a bit expensive. Also my friend got the matcha and we both agreed it just tasted like milk! The almond loaf was also just okay. I wouldn't say this particular location is the best to study at since it's quite small. It gives me more of a "quick stop" vibe though there were other customers that lingered to chat or also do work.

Yelp
Such a great variety of drinks including the energy drink Lotus spritzers! A little bit on the expensive side but service was amazing and loved the pastries as well.

Yelp
great service great latte went in close to close and was delighted by their espresso! across the street from my nail salon but the cute vibes brought me inside. AC was nice and place was great to study. One of these days I want to try their speciality drinks!!

Yelp
This is the only shop I could find in the earlier that is open late. Coffee was decent.

Yelp
Cafe Ladro has some of the best coffee in the city, however the last few times I've been in my vanilla latte has been over $10. Wish they had more gluten free options!

Yelp
We had a good experience with Caffe Ladro. There is outdoor seating where our dog can join us. The coffees were good. I've read the other reviews where price is a concern. What in Seattle isn't expensive? We also had a pastry that was big enough to share. I think this will become a frequent spot for my wife and I to enjoy.

Yelp
Caffe Ladro has multiple locations across the greater Seattle area and this one is in the Ravenna area near the Roosevelt light rail station. There is no private parking lot but there is street parking in the area. The inside of the store is very nice with many indoor tables as well as outdoor seating. I ordered the tall iced latte ($4.55) which was good and was nice to sip on in the morning while sitting on one of the lawn chairs outside (specifically, they're Adirondack chairs). The staff was very nice and this is a nice coffee shop in the neighborhood. They also have free wifi so it's a nice place to get some work done.

Yelp
I like the coffee. It's expensive - a large Americano with a tip, probably 6$. Baked goods average 4 or 5. I was stopping by frequently so I signed up to earn points towards free drinks. That's not how it works. I get between 40 and 65 points when I buy a coffee or a couple of coffees there. 1000 points will earn me a free drink. However, I have to endure regular, annoying text messages from them in the process that beg me to buy something to earn more points. Literally every other coffee place gives you a free drink after eight or ten purchases. This feels like being pickpocketed again and again while the thief sends you taunting messages about giving some of your money back if only you let him continue to rob you. This is a big chain. They don't need your business. Find a little indie place. There are a number of them nearby.

Yelp
Seattle's Ravenna and Roosevelt neighborhoods have a large concentration of indie cafes and coffeehouses. It took me nearly two years to finally visit this Caffe Ladro location on NE65th (4/25/21). It is near Roosevelt High School, smack dab in concentrated condo land. You can't miss it with the bright Adriondack seating out front. It was nice to be reacquainted with Caffe Ladro. Dropped a lot of caffeine green back in the 1990s at the Queen Anne and Capitol Hill sites. Just not the same feel though visiting the Bothell and Lynnwood spots. This Ravenna location was bright and welcoming. Clearly the barista at the counter was well established and knew her regulars. I was greeted with that same effervescence. I appreciated that versus pretentious, hipster nonsense noted at other cafes. Thankfully, that pretty much got eradicated during the C19 pandemic. Genuine, friendly demeanor goes far in today's world. I decided to try a Gibraltar but couldn't decide between the espresso chocolate cake or chocolate chip cookie. Took the recommendation of the uber friendly barista and got the latter. All the bright outdoor seating was taken, so sat at the counter area with expansive, large windows. Love natural light! Whether outdoor or indoor, their seating configurations are inviting. Definitely experienced an on point chocolate chip cookie with the perfect foil having The Gibraltar. I did end up buying that last wrapped slice of espresso chocolate cake too. The Homie gobbled most of it, but I managed to snag a generous bite at home. A special thank you to fellow Yelper, Andrea O for constantly steering me to revisit spots for specific baked treats and desserts. Mille grazie! Well crafted coffee beverages and satisfying baked goods, kudos to Caffe Ladro going strong after all these decades! Truly enjoyed this Ravenna stop.

Yelp
$1.25 upcharge for oat milk. Wow. First time I've seen that and probably the last because I didn't order a drink. For barely 12oz of liquid, $1.25 is greedy and ridiculous. I used to love Ladro, but sorry, no coffee is that good.
google avatar

Daniel K.

Yelp
This location is actually pretty amazing and probably the best Ladro in town. However, the latte isn't that great compared to the other ladros, and also the issue with Ritual is something that you have to be mindful about. Ladro has a partnership with the ritual app so you can order drinks ahead by using the ritual app. However, time and time I again, I find it odd that my app will me that the drink is ready when they haven't even started it. I learned that management has told employees to prioritize walk-in customers, I just wished they were transparent about it. Other than that it's a great atmosphere with an outdoor seating with a good customer service.

Nomuka A.

Yelp
I wanted to like this cafe as it looked like a cute place with a lot of natural light. However, I got a 12oz Iced vanilla latte and it was $9.10 without tips. The barista told me it only came with one shot of espresso for a 12oz so I ordered an extra one. I don't think I've been to a coffee shop that puts only 1 shot in a 12oz latte before so I was a little surprised. And unfortunately the coffee was very mediocre for what it was worth as well. Aside from this, they seem to have only 1 employee working at a time and he seemed very stressed and irritated. Overall, this place looks nice when you first walk in but I wish I had a better experience.

Yelp
Checked out the new Caffe Ladro location in late June and loved it! First, I feel like each Ladro location kind of has a unique vibe and I really like the tiling on the floor at this location, not to mention the comfy chairs on the left (when you enter) and the nice plants too! The service was friendly and I enjoyed my iced latte outside in the sun (while utilizing one of the plentiful Adirondack chairs that they have!) The outside area is a bit noisy and not SUPER relaxing (due to being located on a major street) but it's still a nice place to chill and people watch Other things to note: There is a complimentary water pitcher. I didn't order any food but I believe they had several options in the glass case. The restroom is a single occupancy restroom but no code needed. This is a great addition to the neighborhood and I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
The coffee and baristas are great but the new get.joe payment system is absolutely AWFUL!!! I have been a loyal happy Ladro customer for over 10 years. I've always used the very convenient card I reloaded monthly to pay for my coffees and it was a very efficient easy way to pay that encouraged my return patronage. Today when I stopped at the West Seattle location there was a very long line which I assumed was owing to Ladro popularity, but after 10 minutes of waiting in line I learned this was not the case. Their new payment system requires patrons to input personal information on multiple screens before payment can be accepted. If one still has one of their "coffee cards" the process can take 20 minutes (as it did for me today), because the balance on the "coffee card", has to be transferred to the new "get.joe " point of sale system, and that is not a quick process. It took four tries today and still the text I was supposed to receive so I could input my new PIN code which this system generates so I could pay for my latte did not come through. So I stood there for 20 minutes while the barista and the cashier apologized repeatedly as they tried to figure out what to do that would allow me to actually pay for the coffee I was drinking and a line of irritated customers formed behind me. The fifth time was the "charm" and this finally worked. By the time I was able to pay for my Grande Peppermint Latte I had finished drinking it and several of the people who had been waiting in line behind me just left without buying anything- presumably because they did not want to subject themselves to what they saw me politely enduring. All told it 30 minutes for me to buy a latte- 20 of which was devoted to my trying to give Ladro money. Ridiculous!! I will use up the remaining $46 "get.joe" coffee account balance on my next visit to the Queen Anne location where I usually buy my coffee and I will NEVER BUY LADRO COFFEE AGAIN

Yelp
Had my kids and went in 10 mins before they closed to get a coffee and snacks. The barista really did not want to help me. In fact I was told to go to the coffee house down the street because they had put everything away. Strange right. I was like ok and I really did not want someone making my drink who did not want to. The cafe looks clean, very bright, with a decent amount of seating. I don't think I will be going back. If I am in the area, I will probably go to the spot they told me to when I went in.

Yelp
It's taken me a while to finally visit this latest Ladro location, but I'm so glad I stopped by! I went in before an early morning meeting for an iced americano and a ham & cheese croissant to wake me up, and am happy to report it did the job! The cafe itself has a beautiful aesthetic, and the barista was super friendly and inviting. She made my drink super quickly despite being the only employee in the cafe, and the ham & cheese croissant was probably one of the best I've had in a coffee shop setting. I'd love to hang out here once the pandemic is behind us and enjoy the gorgeous space!

Yelp
Caffè Ladro is truly the best. Was in this neighborhood because I went to Kelly Cannoli for dessert and needed to close my lunch with the perfect coffee, so I looked up for Ladro and found this location. As usual it did not disappoint, I got my usual Gibraltar and it was velvety and delicious as I like it, probably one of the best Gibraltar I've ever had, kudos to the barista! Asked about the espresso Chocolate cake and he told me that it has been discontinued, which is shocking, it was outstanding! I hope he was mistaken. Anyway, cute place and great coffee.

Yelp
Staff was very inconsiderate of patrons. We were sitting down having a small bit and staff begins to vigorously sweep and create dust everywhere.
google avatar

Hannah H.

Yelp
I rarely leave reviews but had to because every time my husband and I come here the baristas are so rude it's actually funny! Like we joke about it. It's bizarre. They just stare at you like you ruined their day by coming in. No idea why. Coffee is good though!
google avatar

Saira S.

Yelp
Got the shakerato that's basically a lot of espresso and brown sugar. It was strong and good tasting. It wasn't too busy around 4:30pm since they close at 5. There's a good amount of seating indoors as well as several chairs outdoors.

Jacqueline R.

Yelp
How is a 16 oz oat milk latte with a splash of flavor 7.50? (Plus another dollar for tip). Was a luke warm, nothing special latte. Go elsewhere. Edit: rude staff made me feel unwanted. Even though I was pleasant. Bye

Annan O.

Yelp
This place is a very nice neighborhood cafe. Good dessert and good coffee. Atmosphere is friendly and everything is clean and new. The most importantly, it is a business runs by honest, kind people. I specially thank Franco Micale, who do have more than good skills, and a kind heart. You can always trust local business operating by the HONEST. 5/5 This place is a very nice neighborhood cafe. Yelp
Super good coffee and a great vibe make this place a solid spot for any morning. They have ample room to study or work, and their drinks are delicious. I didn't try any of the pastries, but those also looked phenomenal. Can't wait to go back to try them. I had an iced vanilla latte one morning and a cold brew the next! Both had more flavor than I'm normally used to. Very excited to come back here when I'm back in the area.

Yelp
We ordered cafe latte and chai tea. We think the drinks are not too special... but the staff is super welcoming. She treated us chocolate cookies & drip coffee. Their quiche was great too! (It's huge by the way.)

Daniel Y.

Yelp
Ordered an iced americano...but there is no ice. The temperature is room temp at best. The barista seems very irritable me and not happy to be there.

Yelp
Following a trend of cafes opening up prior to the neighborhood light rail station opening, this shop opened at the beginning of May 2019. It has a pretty modern/open atmosphere to match the new apartment complex it's in. There's indoor seating for around 20 people (approx. half or more near an outlet), and outdoor seating for maybe a couple dozen here and there. There's great WiFi, too! As for drinks, I've only tried an americano and cold brew so far, and both were great! The lemon poppyseed scone was a great accompaniment. Next time, one of the giant cookies will be on my list. It's a little chilly inside (albeit writing this on a rainy day), so bring a jacket if you're hoping to stay for a while. Happy to have this place in the neighborhood, and will be back!

Yelp
Finally The Ladro has come to U District Ravenna! Oh how I have missed You since fleeing downtown for the burbs. What's that You Say? You now sell K-Cups too? Excellent. This location is brand new inside - does not have a vibe yet but the Coffee is Fantastic. A great start in an underserved area.

Kyyalyn E.

Yelp
Very nice people. Chai tea is very good. The cafe is clean and modern. I would recommend.
google avatar

Briana R.

Yelp
Gotta say, I love this place! The Ravenna area is pretty oversaturated with coffee shops; I pass 3 or 4 other places on my way here. The coffee and service are great, but what keeps me coming back is the selection of amazing pastries! Ladro has a wide variety of sweet and savory nibbles, in a range of different sizes. Everything I've tried so far is super super good: ham and cheese croissant, raspberry scone, almond cranberry coffee cake! There's a lot of good coffee around here, but the food selection is unmatched. *Pro-Tip: this shop is located right next to the high school and can get super crowded during lunch hours. Order ahead with the Joe app to skip the lines! Both times I've done this, my coffee was made correctly and on-time.
google avatar

Lucky C.

Yelp
Coffee was alright. Barista guy seemed irritated, ready to get off work, and made sure everyone knew what time they closed.
google avatar

Hope C.

Yelp
It's good but they only ever have one person working at a time so you'll be stuck waiting 10-15 minutes for a coffee if there's at least one other customer in there. Kind of annoying for the mornings while trying to get to work.
google avatar

Yelp
Cafe Ladro is a solid choice when it comes to coffee and related beverages in Seattle. This location has a pretty open layout, has a bunch of bar seats to work on, along with a table with a few chairs (for groups) as well as a comfy sofa and couple of leather chairs. It also has outside seating as well but not directly on or extremely close to the street which is a plus imo. It has free wifi and even though NE 65th St is busy, you can easily get street parking in any of the side streets within 2-3 blocks. Added bonus is that the place stays open till 7pm which is late for most other cafes, especially in winters. I have tried the matcha latte and hot chocolate here; both well made and especially great that our barista was happy to split a jumbo size into two drinks for sharing. The reasons behind 3 stars are, however: 1. The drinks came in paper cups. I understand that the cups are recyclable but only if they're rinsed clean and honestly I would have preferred to have my drinks in reusable cup unless I was planning to take it to-go. 2. The toilets were not very clean. There are no seat liners and the day I visited, the centerpull towel dispenser was clogged with wet towel mess. The place wasnt busy at all so I would appreciate the staff to take care of the cleanliness of the toilet a bit more. In fact the cafe is pretty neat and clean so I wasnt expecting the state of the toilet. I would love to come back and stay if they can improve on these points.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
This is a great new addition to the neighborhood! It has a great atmosphere and is a very pleasant place to get some work done. The menu is not super extensive but maybe they'll expand it as they grow. The staff is super super friendly. Also, I appreciate that they don't play super loud music so if you are trying to get work done you can focus. A cozy, charming, and sleek spot!
