"Caffè Nero is a London-based, Italy-inspired megachain of cafes that began its United States expansion in Boston in mid-2014. It recently opened a new location at 1375 Boylston St. in the Fenway neighborhood, offering free coffee on its opening day from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Google
I knew this resto from the apps Too Good To Go. I bought the surprise bag and it only cost $4.2. I received 5 pastries and they were so delicious, really recommend people to buy them.

Google
Cafe nero never disappoints! This cafe has the nicest staff you'll ever meet. It has indoor and outdoor seating. The ambiance and decor inside are very work friendly. I tried many of their iced coffee drinks and they were all great! They have a wide range of sandwiches and pastries as well

Google
Placed an online order for pickup and when I arrived the shelves were completely empty , nothing was prepared . Due to nothing being prepared I couldn’t get my croissant so I requested for a refund and was told I couldn’t get a refund. For someone who often visits caffe Nero this has been the worst experience . HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE . There was LEGIT only 1 person working ! I’ll stick to my location in South Boston never disappoints me !

Alyssa

Google
Love coming here! Though they tend to be short-staffed, the staff they do have are helpful and friendly. Lots of seating but since it's a great place to do work or chat with friends, it can be difficult to snag a seat. Personally I find their pastries/food to be just OK, but I love their drinks. Decent pricing too.

Google
A nice coffee place with warm decor. You’ll find a lot of people engrossed within their laptops. The vanilla latte was wonderful and I also relished the almond cream cake too. Quiet cozy spot to sit, focus and get some work done. The service was excellent.

I love the atmosphere and ambience here! Boylston street has really developed in the last 10 years! Large windows make the experience great.

Google
Love Caffé Nero, however this particular location has the worst service I have ever experienced at any caffé I have been to. I felt rushed to order my drink as quickly as possible, I didn’t realize they still had croissants so I proceeded to order one after he made my drink which seemed to be a problem with the barista. Gave me attitude and told me to order my food before my drink next time. I kept apologizing that I didn’t know and he rolled his eyes at me and walked away. While company standard is to take two at a time, he made a big deal about taking my friend before me, since I was trying to download the app. We ordered almost the same thing, so it shouldn’t have been difficult but apparently it was also a problem.

Google
Welcome to the neighborhood Caffe Nero! This place has some great treat/dessert options and an abundance of nice drink choices. We ordered a hot chocolate, regular coffee and zucchini bread and they were all delicious! The pricing was on par with other places, the staff was friendly and the place had a homey-like presence with a (working?) fireplace and a game room in the back with a shuffleboard. There’s a lot of seating but it’s still packed so my suggestion would be to immediately look for a place to sit down when you walk in if you’d like to sit and enjoy your drink/treat.

Yelp
" Love the smoothies , cold brew , and baked goods " The service is so warm and welcoming. Your expectations are meet , in friendliness. The vibe is the warmest . The smoothies are delicious. The pastries fluffy madness in your mouth . The sugar cookies out of this world . This place will make your taste buds feel like a mad muppet. I highly recommend caffe Nero. Parking is manageable. The cost is fair for the quality. I just want to mentioned their pastries are generously big .

Yelp
The most egregious and disturbing thing happened to me at your café. I want to say on the norm and regular... I've always have the most pleasurable experience with the baristas. So this encounter was very disturbing to me. I was literally kicked out of your café for having an outside beverage I was asked if I was going to buy something.. if not, I would have to leave. I said OK and was again spoken to in the most demeaning way.Standing over me with much aggression. I was asked again ,if you're gonna buy something in a very nasty tone. I was actually waiting for my friend so that we could enjoy something there. She said that she would call the cops, if I did not buy something or leave. Then called me angry and disgruntled. I asked to speak to the manager his name was Marco the MOD. Told him the situation and he just stared at me. I asked for her name and her name is Emma and we had some few on choice words at the counter. I was literally kicked out of your café for having an outside beverage. AsI was leaving the counter, Marco said a couple of unnecessary things about me being there as well in front of the whole establishment. It was humiliating and unnecessary.. I see many others as I visit this location often,in there with their own personal food and beverages. For me to be single out and threaten to call the authorities on me was definitely something that I've never experienced before. It's quiet disturbing to be treated this way. The other baristas and GM,said that they don't even handle customers this way. They also said that many come in with outside items. They were shocked at this behavior. Apparently, me being an African American woman sitting peacefully, irritated Emma. I felt racially profiled /discriminated and harassed. Unfortunately, after many conversations with Cafe Nero, my request was for her to be let go. I should not ever have to see here in any of their locations. Cafe Nero should never want to be a reflection of this kind of discrimination. They are unwilling to see the negative consequences and impact. They decided to do not much of anything that would make me fell respected and safe in their place of business. I'm filling a complaint immediately! This was a personal attack from Emma! Not a lack of training like they prefer to put it, but racially charged attack and discrimination by Emma. Her actions should have been handled more appropriately... Not a slap on the wrist.

Yelp
A great experience at Caffe Nero! It's generally a solid experience at Caffe Nero, but recently I've been really impressed! The consistency in the quality of the drinks is appreciated and the interior is pretty spacious both inside and outside, whether you're hoping to get some journaling in, or just catching up with friends. The barista today definitely made my day and was so kind, even during the afternoon rush. I appreciate your attention to customer service and making a delicious iced vanilla latte for me!

Jonathan C.

Yelp
Almond croissant was mediocre. Coffee is pretty good, but no stevia?! Unacceptable! Also, furniture is badly worn. Not cute, just shitty. Also I realized it's still winter, but it's been mild and they could put the chairs outside. Just a friendly suggestion

Cat W.

Yelp
Worst quality matcha i've ever had. Tastes like straight milk for $6. Do not offer a menu item if you can not make it quality.

Lisa P.

Yelp
The cafe was very crowded, but I found an empty seat near the window which was very sunny and a little hot, but the other parts of the cafe that I wanted to sit at were all taken up because everyone decided to have this brilliant idea of going to the cafe to study. I got the iced matcha latte and it was okay. I was a little bland. This cafe is very unique inside.

Deborah C.

Yelp
This Caffe Nero location is my favorite in the area because of how spacious it is. I came here on a Wednesday morning around 9am and it was pretty much empty, so I had my pick of tables, lounging corners, or booths. On nicer days like this, they open up the entire side window so I got to enjoy a nice breeze. The drinks themselves are decent, and their pastries don't feel like the freshest, but I don't expect much from a Caffe Nero, a chain that I equate with being the go-to location for students and remote workers to hunker down and study/work. Specifically, their iced chai latte always feels too milky and gloopy, and combined with their use of paper straws, ends up being a chore to finish. It's good for what it is, but don't come expecting a high-end European experience.

Peter T.

Yelp
The food and drinks are great just like the other locations, but do we seriously have to have bathroom codes? Absolutely pathetic. No other location does this.

Kelly C.

Yelp
What's better than a caramel cappuccino and a slice of almond cream cake that melts in your mouth for a little work break?

Amory S.

Yelp
Coffee is excellent. Outdoor area is a mess. Poor person working alone doing everything from taking orders, warming food, preparing coffee, cashier. After all of that, it is the one establishment I have encountered post COVID that does not automatically offer an option to leave a tip. I find it hard to support a business that does not appear to be looking out for its employees. Do better Caffe Nero!

Alyssa Y.

Yelp
I came here in early September, when it was very hot and sticky out. I didn't know what to get so I just told the barista I wanted something refreshing. He made me an iced "summer fruits" tea (which I can't find on the menu, so I'm assuming it's seasonal) which fulfilled my request for refreshment perfectly. This location is very spacious yet homey-feeling, and was a great place to sit and chat with a friend. The chairs are quirky and assorted, which was fun but was kind of strange as my friend and I were sitting at different levels. Would recommend this place for anyone in the Fenway area looking to study/take a break from shopping!

Katherine J.

Yelp
Absolutely love the atmosphere! The coffee is a little pricey but ultimately it tastes great. Would recommend to a friend.

Vicki L.

Yelp
Great place to study, as it's usually very quiet. Outlets available and there are plenty of seatings. Their pastries are great, and for coffee you can't go wrong with their latte.

Filipe V.

Yelp
I was walking and say their holIday turkey sandwich special. It looked so good, I had to have it. And, was as delicious as it looks. The bread was perfect: fresh, hearty, and grilled to perfection. Then the inside of the sandwich has sweet bits of cranberries which added such a flavor profile to the turkey and buttery bits of croutons/stuffing. Overall a 5/5 sandwich. As for the vibe of the place, absolutely love it. Books along a giant bookshelf along the wall, fancy interior design, but also in a way, meant to be like a lodge or camp-firey establishment set in the woods. Staff is also friendly too.

Maggi N.

Yelp
My favorite cafe in Boston!! Every time I'm in Boston I make sure I stop at Caffe Nero! I love the atmosphere. It's a very relaxing place with a lot of different drinks and food to choose from. I really enjoyed the tiramisu, it was the perfect size for a little treat. I also got a tuna sandwich, not pictured, that was delicious and filling! Perfect place to stop and get a coffee!

Anne R.

Yelp
Looking for a spot to camp out with a laptop while in Boston for the day and Caffe Nero was open before most other places, had 2 hour street parking outside, and 3 Hour internet WiFi inside. I was really looking for a chocolate croissant but they didn't seem to have any, so I went for a muffin and a cold brew as I settled into an empty cafe all to myself early on Saturday. Solid road warrior or study spot with plenty of seating, high ceilings, classical music, and space to spread out.

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Excellent barista! Pleasant and funny. Even noticed and offered to fill my fiance's yeti with ice and water, stating that it was hot out there.

Stephanie N.

Yelp
Not a big coffee drinker, so you can take this with a grain of salt, but I love the coffee here. The standard roast has a nice balanced flavor without tasting burnt (ugh) or too bitter, and they add syrup without charge. They even had this made-in-house vanilla syrup once that I absolutely loved. The baristas are so friendly and happy to help. They happily wait through my questions and fill my plastic mug without hesitation. Thanks, guys! The place is perfect for working. Wooden decor with an airy feel. Love coming here.

Johnny A.

Yelp
Great coffee place. First time here. The place seems cozy, it was packed so I had to sit outside but I don't mind the cold weather. I ordered a Spanish latte, it was nice and creamy. It was perfect, I didn't even need to add sugar. There's indoor and outdoor seating as well.

Ji L.

Yelp
A delightful stop for award-winning handcrafted premium coffee. It's slightly more expensive than competitors in the area (Pavement and Starbucks), but worth the upcharge. Service is friendly. The interior is trendy, rustic, spacious, yet cozy and bright. The perfect place to catch up with friends, catch up on work, or lounge over a cup-o-joe and eats. Grab a punch card to get your 10th drink for free!

nels r.

Yelp
Pour over coffee- and scratch made chai. All good. My last chai was slightly milky but still complex. Very good place to stop.

Coco C.

Yelp
A great place to study/get work done. I like the natural light here and how spacious it is. However the latte is much sweeter than the ones I had at other locations. Regardless Caffe Nero gives you a pretty consistent experience

Kaylynn C.

Yelp
I've been to two different Neros in the city and have absolutely loved them. The people are by far the stars. Great customer service and the pastries are made fresh! One time I was sitting and working with a matcha latte and then one of the workers came by with a fresh new matcha latte insisting the one I was drinking was made incorrectly (which I had not noticed, but the second one definitely tasted better). This alone is a great example of how much they care about their patrons and value quality. Good study spot: free wifi for 3 hours, lots of seating and outlets

Kendra S.

Yelp
Great experience at Caffee Nero. Enjoyed a nice evening tea. I ordered the small summer fruits tea and was informed by the barista that I could get any size tea for the same price. Delicious tea with a great fruity flavor. My cousin ordered an iced vanilla chai and was told by the barista to let her know how it was. The atmosphere is so cute as there is outside seating and cute decor. Such a nice experience to not feel rushed and pressured when ordering. Nice calming music was played throughout the cafe. Seating was comfortable and plenty of seating available.

Lydia M. And Connie C.

Yelp
I'm gonna do this straight and to the point-- With lackluster service from baristas, an unsanitary environment (flies swimming around the trash), power outlets that don't work, and rude management, it's no wonder this Caffe Nero is an embarrassment to the cafe scene in the Fenway area. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Or even go to another Caffe Nero where you'll get better service, just not this one. I've been underwhelmed numerous times with their mediocre tasting coffee and teas and overly processed prepared sandwiches. And I've had my last straw with the people who work here. Please don't waste your hard earned money or time. You deserve better. tldr: bad. go somewhere else. avoid.

Sophie L.

Yelp
A cute study spot for sure! They have a decent selection in terms of eats and drinks. I also appreciate that they have both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior is actually quite spacious and feels very open. I don't think the food is amazing but it is a coffee shop so it serves its function.

Gillian S.

Yelp
This is by far the best coffee shop in the Fenway area! The sweetest staff that always makes your experience personalized and enjoyable. This is my go to coffee shop that never disappoints.

Nikita S.

Yelp
There's plenty of space and 3 hours of free Wifi at this location, and it's a great place to sit and get some work done. The coffee/pastry selection is typical of a Caffe Nero, slightly expensive but pretty good. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is that when I went today, there were little fruit flies ALL over the milk/sugar station, and even sitting on the water pitchers. I totally understand the heat situation in Boston this summer, and I'm not a huge germaphobe, but I was really overwhelmed by the fly situation here and it made me really glad that I didn't need any additions to my drink.

Leanna R.

Yelp
Barista who I had never seen before (maybe new, or maybe a manager who isn't usually in the front) asked if my dog was a service dog. She is, but I didn't bring her cert with me, as I live above the cafe and have brought her in there at least 20 times before with no issue. I told him that and he said "I'm supposed to" very rudely. It is illegal to ask to see the cert. I left without ordering.

Sharad B.

Yelp
The coffee walnut cake that I ordered was extremely delicious + the coffee was also good. This place has a cool vibe to it.

Mac W.

Yelp
I love this place. The atmosphere is great for studying, reading, or meeting up with people. When it's warm they open up the windows and it feels great. The coffee isn't my favorite coffee I've ever had but I continue to go back because it's good enough and the actual coffee shop is my favorite in town.

Nicole L.

Yelp
I come to this coffee shop all the time to just get away from my apartment sometimes so I can concentrate on work. It's not too loud. The environment's super chill and i love that the changed their lids so there's less use for straws yay!

Caroline K.

Yelp
While I think that the prices are a bit steep, the quality of a simple cup of coffee is solid. Paired with a warm, buttery, toasted chocolate croissant or a savory breakfast item, my stomach is content! I love that there are so many locations, each with their own attitude and vibe, but all cozy and well lit enough to get a solid couple hours of work or catch up in.

Abby W.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite coffee shops to spend time in! The atmosphere is chill which makes it a great place to work, hang out with friends, or read. The staff is so kind and you can get a loyalty card that allows you to get points every time you get a cup of coffee which leads to a free one! On top of all of that they have really good coffee! If you're looking for a really good coffee shop to spend time in... Caffè Nero is the place for you!

Eesha D.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite place. I come here multiple times a week to study and grab coffee. The environment is very relaxing and there are a lot of table to sit at and study! My favorite drink here is certainly their caramel latte!! So glad this place opened up so close to my apartment!

Grace H.

Yelp
I love this place! I used it throughout my semester to study, journal, or hang out with friends. The staff are very friendly, and are always willing to answer questions about what they offer. Some people may think it's overpriced, however I think that for the area, and the amount of people that are in there and the overall quality it's worth it. 90% of the time there is plenty of seating, but I recommend that if you were to go there to study make sure you go early to get a spot! :)

R C.

Yelp
In general, I really like Cafe Nero, but this location is pretty... gross. It's the only location where I see people leaving their trash on tables inside and outside and where there doesn't seem to be enough staff to keep it clean. Final straw for me, today when I went to grab a napkin at the coffee accoutrement bar, which is next to the overflowing trash can, it was swarming with at least 100 fruit flies. When I went to tell someone the response I got was, "I KNOW!"

Eliot W.

Yelp
This would be a cool coffee house if it weren't for the fact that it's essentially a study hall for the many students from all the local colleges (Caffè Nero should do what Starbucks has done and just open up shop on campus). Students occupy tables for hours on end, sometimes, as I've observed, with even ordering anything. One time, I noticed two girls sitting across from me with no food or drinks, and after a time one of them left and came back a short while later with takeout from a nearby restaurant. Because the employees here don't monitor the situation (or seem to even care), it's sometimes impossible to find a place to sit during the school year. Just like everything in Fenway, it's ruled by students. So if dealing with that is your cup of tea (or coffee), enjoy!

Shan S.

Yelp
Great place to sit down and study or work. Grab a cappuccino and maybe a piece of cake if you're feeling indulgent. The coffee is usually good and the desserts/pastries are pretty much what you'd hope for. Especially great now that Panera closed down.

Pallavi K.

Yelp
Good coffee and hot chocolate but it's very difficult to find seating in this cafe. Most seating arrangements are tables for two and not many free seats for individuals. There were individuals seating chairs offered by the table against the entrance window but two were broken. We waited for a while to get seats then left with our coffee to go.

Rahul D.

Yelp
This cafe has a great atmosphere and the staff are friendly. However the beverages leave something to be desired. I ordered the matcha latte, which should be removed from the menu. The barista put in what looked like a teaspoon of matcha powder into my large beverage. I couldn't taste it at all, suggesting it was a low quality matcha powder and not nearly enough was used. I paid $4 for a glass of almond milk with a hint of green color that was flavorless. Would not recommend.

Cass L.

Yelp
I wouldn't know what the coffee tastes like. I've tried to get it three times in the last two months but each time I walked out in frustration because the staff at this location is unable to deal with longer lines. There were two employees working this morning and one set of (totally indecisive) customers was being helped while I stood there for five minutes. The other employee didn't take the hint and continued to chat with her non-employee friend in front of me for nearly five minutes before I left. In comparison, Tatte (both Brookline and Fenway) regularly experiences high-volume traffic and yet I never have to wait too long for my order. The staff at caffe Nero desperately needs management. Walk another thirty feet and go to Tatte or Blackbird for coffee.

Golden C.

Yelp
Truly rude ..unhappy ..and lack of trained employees here ! Can't believe this place makes money..the line takes forever...they all take their sweet time..its a major effort for them to even recognize youre in line. Sometimes there will be 5 people making drinks ..one drink each...and No one on register.. Absolute amateurs .... They have no idea what customer service means nor are they efficient ! Also Why is cafe Nero at every turn in this city? It's creepy One location should have been enough! Another chain contributing to waste. And swaths of coffee addicts could care less.

Susan H.

Yelp
Cozy, nice spot to rest in between shopping. Not much seating, but great atmosphere. Nice options for coffee and pastries.

Leila D.

Yelp
fresh products as always and very tasty flavored tea. It's better to walk to this location since find a spot to park it's not easy.

Monica M.

Yelp
I went to this location (1/31) and was treated poorly. I ordered a drink and about a minute later I realized that I had forgotten to order non-dairy milk and when I requested the change, the barista rolled their eyes and began arguing with their coworkers about me. Very bad customer service.

Natasha C.

Yelp
Looooove their Italian Panini Sandwich. Please never take this off the menu! And their seasonal honey cinnamon latte and gingerbread cake are the best things EVER! Ate the entire gingerbread loaf in one sitting, totally addicted and never even was into gingerbread! Wish they weren't just seasonal items. Taking off a star because they are not on the menu year round.

Mike L.

Yelp
Very cool look. Loved the atmosphere. I got a Cafe Mocha and it wasn't bad. I came during a quite period. Baristas initially helpful but I had to ask for service when I was clearly ready to order. It was confusing where to order; at the register or at the other end of the counter?? It felt quite awkward. The barista seemed confused when I asked him for a receipt. That odd huh?? I was going to get a cookie until I saw flies on their baked goods. I expect better from a nice looking Cafe in Boston!

Nicolas W.

Yelp
Hello, let me tell you that I've always loved cafe Nero, especially the one in Washington st. But I recently moved to an apartment next to this location and holy hell the people who work here are racist, I've had already 2 bad experiences and today my girlfriend had another one. My girlfriend does not speak perfect English, so when we go to a cafe or restaurant I make her order so that she can practice. The deal is that the second she opens her mouth the employees put an ugly expression in their face and yell "what!!", instead of being comprehensive or say something nice the next thing they say is "cold or hot" nothing else, again with an expresión in their face that would make any person detest them. The first time we went we were talking Spanish, when we raised our heads to order what we wanted we saw two employees who talked to us differently, as inferiors, they told us our sandwich was going to be ready in 15, but nothing came, we went to the front and the employees were like oooh, "I'm so sorry, I forgot". I could tell you the other experiences, but it's not worth it, all I am asking is to instruct your employees to be more courteous to the customers, because you definitely make me and other people detest a place like this because of the employees treatment.
