What a lovely place that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into an old Italian cafe. Makes for a perfect stop on a cold night exploring Little 🇮🇹 Italy. Not a chain, unique and independent. Loved it.

Beautiful historic building very helpful staff, the man that helped us did have a thick Italian accent and talked fast but was very kind and helpful, everything we had was fantastic even though we came in late, highly recommend the little flavored cheese cakes and cannolis!

This was the best cannoli I have ever had! Had some cookies and biscotti as well that were delicious and an amazing amaretto cappuccino that went perfectly with it all. The owner was very friendly and they were very busy!

Must try! This was a great stop for a warm cozy cup of adult hot chocolate! Employee’s were super sweet and helpful with ordering. Would definitely recommend and will definitely come back when in the area.

Stopped here to warm up and get a drink and snack later at night during a snowstorm. It was a nice ambience wirh a lot of original features (they have been in business since 1891!) Service was polite, the owner seemed to be working, too, and offered us refills of water. Rhw pistachio cannoli was decent, although the shell was not as crispy as expected, maybe because we got it later at night. Would recommend trying it out for a quick treat. We didn't get the Gelato, bit the table next to us did and it looked amazing!

We fell in love with this place. The drinks were delicious, we ordered a caramel cappuccino, a hot chocolate and a regular cappuccino. The drinks were smooth, foamy, with just the right amount of sweetness. We also ordered a tiramisu and it left us speechless, the flavor was delicious, you can tell it is made in the original way. The place is old and decorated in the same way, it transports you to the past and makes you really feel the connection to the moment, to the people around you. It is incredibly beautiful. The service was very average, not bad, we will definitely be back.

I recently had the chance to enjoy my coffee at Caffe Roma, and it’s got that timeless, vintage charm. The clients are a mix of all generations, creating a lively atmosphere. The staff were incredibly welcoming! I ordered a double espresso with whipped cream, while my sisters chose cappuccino. We couldn’t resist sharing a delicious tiramisu that was absolutely divine!

While in Little Italy in New York, you have to try some coffee! Had the cappuccino which was superb. Most of all, I loved the decor. Felt like I went back in time. Liked the vintage look!

Lovely, old-school spot that is perfect for enjoying a quick afternoon pick-me up of sugar and/or caffeine. The staff is lovely and accommodating and you don't feel rushed, even though they stayed full while I was there. The cannoli is probably the best I've ever had.

My family and I were in the area and wanted to find a place nearby for coffee and to get warm. We stopped at Roma, as a friend had lived in the area and recommended it as a cute old-school local spot. We found a seat immediately and clearly got there at the right time, because shortly afterwards, the place started filling up. We ordered some coffees, a hot chocolate, and two cannolis. The Christmas decorations were nicely done and created welcoming and cozy atmosphere. The employees were also friendly and served us quickly. I'm giving the place 4 stars simply because nothing really stood out to me. I've had better coffee and better cannolis, although these were not bad. Also, for the size of this cafe, it would be better to have more than 1 restroom. Only having 1 is a little frustrating and creates a line of people. All in all, if you're in the area, stop by! I probably won't go out of my way to go back, but it hit the spot and was exactly what we needed at that moment.

My college daughter and I went here for a cannoli and a cappuccino. They were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our dessert and coffee without a rush. They had many pastries to choose from .Littlw Italy is always fun to go to. We were happy to take a bit of a rest and have dessert in between!

Love Caffe Roma! For years, stopped by there when nearby Little Italy, especially when with something sweet or a coffee is in order. It's Old School, unpretentious and absolutely delightful. My go-to and recommendation (for grown ups) is Caffe Roma's affogato, which you can get with any of their gelatos. My preference an affogato with hazelnut gelato, but think my next order will be to test it out with the pistachio. Yum! My recommendation is to enjoy it at one of their cafe tables on Mulberry Street where you can people watch and take in neighborhood.

Full Italian Experience! Loved it! From real authentic to simple old menu and design! The Smell of Irish Espresso still takes me to that moment! The adffogato was eye opening and the beautiful cannoli was kind to my mouth. You really wanna go Italian, this is your place! So happy that I got to try them

Last week I was in between two continents, Europe and Asia. I called it a "fork"in the road as I craved both cuisines from these two continents. My dessert craving led me to Caffe Roma as I wanted a cappuccino to sip on my way back to work. The cafe reminded me of one of these Pasticceria that I constantly gravitated to in Rome: Trevi Fountain, Termini Station and of course in the Amalfi Coast. The air I breathe consists of cannolis, cheesecake, Italian cookies and of course the amazing aroma of a freshly brewed cup of coffee. I had to resist the temptation of taking a treat to go and stayed focused , just a small cappuccino to go. I placed my order and just took in the vibe.. if you are in Soho as I am due to working in the area, there is a European flair in the air as you walk the cobblestoned streets... My drink was ready at the espresso bar in the back. I ordered a small cappuccino and as you can see from my picture. I appreciated the extra foam however I ordered it to go.. .thus putting a lid on it was tricky and awkward. I took one sip and burnt my kishkas ( Sorry had to throw a Yiddish euphemism in) I drank a bit to settle it and off I went. As in Rome, Caffe Roma is definitely a cafe to sip, savor and people watch. which I plan to do due to Spring finally around the corner. Thus, coming upon a " fork" in the road holds unexpected delight when you are in Soho, specifically on Broome Street. You can virtually get a taste of Lower Manhattan here: Nolita, Little Italy and Chinatown. Mangia!

Stopped by on a rainy afternoon & needed to wait out the rain so I ordered a cappuccino. It was a very decent size, tasted okay nothing too crazy just average. Location is a pretty nice size .

We stopped here because we wanted to get some cannoli before leaving Little Italy. This spot seemed like a good candidate. Great-looking bakery. Decor was quaint. Staff was friendly. Unfortunately the whole reason for stopping by, the cannolis, were kind of underwhelming. Didn't taste bad, but not very satisfying. The other two people with me agreed. Very tough to chew through.

Needed a quiet yet lively cafe to catch up with a dear friend of mine and Caffe Roma offered just that! Dark yet moody decor on the inside gives this place a unique restaurant feel rather than coffee shop. Their pasty selection and counter appears to be great and in high demand as the selection was limited, which I assume happens when you arrive near closing hours like I did but I can only imagine the selection they offer. Pastries were Italian style and both color and flavorful! I ordered to share with my friend. Service was also great and efficient with the servers being very attentive and accommodating to any need (extra utensils or plate for sharing). I'd definitely come again!

Love this place, great staff and Italian and American pastry. You won't be disappointed.

The man worker here is the kindest person I ever met. I was craving an Italian drink called Marocchino and he went out of his way to look up the ingredients and make it. What a kind and generous man. He even offered if I didn't like it, I don't have to pay. I ended up finishing it all in one sip. This is how good he mad it. The vibe is very relaxed and has antique and beautiful style to it. I would definitely come again with friends.

Such a great little pit stop for a pick me up. Get some coffee and pastries. The service was great and the ambiance is historic.

My bestie/cousin and I were walking around Little Italy and she brought me to this coffee/pastry place that she and her husband frequently visit with his Aunt. First impression, very nice! They had assorted baked goods and my cousin recommended to try the rainbow cookies! So we both ordered the hazelnut cappuccino, rainbow cookies and the cheesecake with ricotta! Everything was delicious! That rainbow cookie was insanely delicious! When we got there, it was just us. Then it got really busy, really quick! Filled up with many people ordering their drinks and one gentleman ordered boxes of baked cookies to go! This place was excellent! Thank you for taking care of us!! I will be back on my next visit to NYC!

The best Carmel cappuccino I've ever had. It was perfectly balanced, not too bitter, but had a jolt to it. I probably could've ordered three of them, though they would have been peeling me down from the ceiling. I've enjoyed a wide selection of desserts here, including rainbow cookies, pignoli, cookies, and tiramisu. As to be expected, all of these desserts are on the pricier side - that's pretty standard for this level of quality. However, if you're going to shell out money for Italian baked goods, you at least want to know you're getting high-quality. These definitely fit the bill. The gelato is also excellent creamy and flavorful. It lingers on the tongue afterwards, providing a magnificent aftertaste that only the real deal can provide. The location is conveniently situated in the heart of what's left of the little Italy. The café itself is not very large, and in some cases you may want to either enjoy your purchase at a table outside, or take it to go. It looks just like you expect an Italian café to appear. The service is good and attentive. Don't worry they'll get to you shortly. If you're looking for an after-dinner spot to grab some memorable treats and coffee, cappuccino espresso, etc. this is one of my more highly recommended options .

The cheesecake and cannolis were perfect. The Sfogliatelle was crispy and flaky outside and creamy inside. Delicious!

i was not a huge fan of this place! the coffee was overly sweet, I got the hazelnut latte, the aesthetics of the coffee were kind of cool though! the service was not great, it seemed that they did want to help us order maybe it is because the place was overly busy and packed. the ambiance was kind of cute, it was like a vintage style decor with vintage furniture

Best Affogato ever!! The aroma of the coffee was amazing the combo with the gelato was a delightful treat. We stumbled across this place during our trip to NY and the service was great!! This is my go to spot for Affogato!!

The expression martini here was to die for. The ambiance gave cute Italian corner bakery and everyone was extremely nice.

The cookies are wonderful and the coffee is delicious. Service is excellent. It looks like you've stepped back in time and it's just a cool little place.

The architecture makes this place. It is a sad empty shell of a business with a few cookies and coffee. I enjoyed the floor tile, the laughing and old counter tops and the coffee seemed to be Lavazza which is important to note as a gas station "Italian" coffee. The employees were nice but were cold because the heat was not on in any kind of notable way. I have nothing against the place, its a cute shell of a business.

Let me start off by saying, I'm not the biggest fan of touristy spots. I like mom/pop sorta places. To my surprise, that's exactly what Caffe Roma Pastry is! Today I stopped by for a cannoli (not touristy at all :-D). The cannoli was incredible! Like crazy good! We also got some biscotti and a couple glasses of wine. Yum to all the above! Staff was super friendly and fast. We stayed for a bit and enjoyed the people watching. Absolutely will be back!!!

Dreams do come true! I got to try an authentic Italian cannoli! Actually 3 of them! They were perfectly executed, stuffed all the way through, and will hold me over until my next trip to NYC or Italy. The dining room was spacious and had a welcoming atmosphere with great music. The service was also very friendly

We had an hour to kill in the area and walked by Caffe Roma. If you're looking to dine in, just grab a table and someone will be with you shortly. They don't have a huge menu, but there's enough for just about anyone. I had a pistachio gelato and my mom had an Amaretto Latte. She liked her drink and I liked my gelato. We had just had lunch, so I wasn't super hungry - otherwise I would've been tempted by the rainbow cookies! Staff were friendly and nice.

They say they have best cannoli since 1891. We came in to taste them. So what can I say- very, very bad cannoli. We visited Sicily just recently , the home of cannoli, where they were invented. So cannolis from cafe Roma have nothing in common with (original) cannolis. The shells are so hard, not tasty at all, and totally different from the originals, Ricotta is very sweet. This size of cannoli in Sicily is considered small. The price is quite high- $6 for a small cannoli. So overall they are NOT good at all!!! The coffee was very bad as well. The cheesecake was too sweet as well. So we would not recommend the place at all.

Another historic bakery I want to show off in Little Italy. Each year when I go to the Feast I try to visit a new location. It's great to visit and meet the employees. I believe they were open to people using the restroom. The sign on the door says for customers only. I was fortunate I didn't have to go. I don't know why I'm mentioning this except that I saw a lot of people waiting in line in the rear of the restaurant. It's kind of open for all to see. It's a busy place with a couple of employees. There were plenty of open tables. I saw one girl not only handling the counter customers like me, but she also was taking a plated Cannoli to someone's table. I'm more of a grab a cookie and go. I can't sit still. I do want to walk around the room if they don't object. This place is historic. I enjoyed the old feel and original decor. I wandered around taking photos since they weren't overly crowded with customers. It's cash only. The signs are everywhere. It's very relaxing inside. The employees made me feel comfortable like I was at grandmas house. I got a smile as soon as they saw my wide eyes and open mouth looking at all grandmas cookies in the display case. I recommend you visit this historic bakery. You may just find cookies like your grandma used to make. I know I did!

Full disclosure: 11 Little Italy stores participated in the Netflix promotion of the Irishman that happen this past Friday and Saturday, it became a treasure hunt/food tour for me. Ever since I discovered Caffe Roma through the food tour, I been back for the cannolis. When I saw Caffe Roma as one of the participating restaurants in the Netflix promotion, I had to definitely see what treat they are giving away. I walked in the door and reached the counter. There was an employee behind the refrigerated display case. Another customer was there and told the employee, "Jimmy sent me." I piped up and said, "Jimmy sent me too!" so she didn't have to walk twice. We received our treat and I was curious. It is a full-sized cannoli. How awesome is that! If you haven't read my previous review, take a gander. They are one of the few places that makes they own cannoli shells which is why it's all different sizes and not uniformed. The cannoli cream contains miniature chocolate chips. If you haven't tried their items, definitely come try their cannolis and desserts. Thanks Caffe Roma for the cannoli!

The place is special. Over 130 yrs old, one of the oldest bakeries in US. Had Italian Cheesecake and double espresso here. Nice atmosphere

The dessert here is way to sweet and it is definitely over priced. I came here after dinner and wanted a dessert and a latte. The latte was fine, nothing particularly special though. The Napoleon was very very sweet. It was almost too hard to eat Bc of how sweet it was! The prices are also absurdly high- I paid $18 for the latte and the Napoleon and I am not sure if they just got it wrong or if they just charge a lot for their coffees and desserts

Italian pastry and coffee shop at the edge of Little Italy, quieter than the main areas. Plenty of indoor and outside seating, good selection of traditional pastries/cookies/desserts including cannoli, offers coffee options as well as hot chocolate. Staff are super nice and welcoming. Hot chocolate was decent, not too thick or sweet, and goes great with sweet desserts. Cannoli had a nice crispy shell, fairly sweet creamy moist frosting-like filling. Chocolate chips add a good kick of flavor. Can hardly have two in one sitting, but very fulfilling for one with a hot drink.

Meh at best. I just do not share the sentiment of other reviewers for this place. Walked in for a dessert nightcap on this Thursday evening and I thought we walked into Yucca Flats. Not one patron on the premises---just the workers. Regardless, we settled down for tea/coffee and dessert. Slowly, some people came around but overall, it was quiet. Not much atmosphere although there were many tables and I'd like to say that Caffe Roma has been around since 1891, as stated on tee shirts. That's many years in business. We placed our order for a Jasmine tea, Cappuccino and Tiramisu. No water brought to the table. The counter had a large variety of desserts on display, some looked good although what it tasted like was another story. My cappuccino was average. I've had better and worse. The odd part was the tiramisu. It looked pretty but was a huge let down and not in the tradition of what I'm accustomed to. In fact, we both thought it tasted a bit like cheesecake. It was kind of dry and with not much flavor. Also, because they were getting ready to close, we were asked to move to another table on the other side of the room. I thought that was an inconvenient suggestion, so we just ended up paying the check and left. It was only 10:30. Maybe it was an off night but I wished we walked to Ferrara. Oh well.

The ambience and service are great! If you're looking for somewhere comfortable to catch up with a friend over coffee, would recommend. However, the food and drinks were meh. The pistachio cannoli that I got tasted and felt more like icing than ricotta (too sweet and slightly hard texture).

Loved this cafe in little Italy! Happened to luck out to get a window seat so ambiance ! Ideal stop for a coffee and cannoli. The barista/bartender who made us an irish cream latte and hazelnut latte was wonderful and did a great job.

Cannoli, Cannoli, Cannoli... The cannoli here are exquisite! Super crisp shells, rich, complex filing with hints of cinnamon and spice! OMG! In Cannoli people often confuse size with quality. These are smaller, maybe 5.5" x 1", but so deep and rich that they are 10x better than larger flavorless versions elsewhere... ok everywhere else! This is very old looking establishment that looks as old as Mulberry street and NY itself. I guess they feel they are busy enough that they don't need to put any money back into the look of the place. Are the rear of the shop is a very cool looking bar that's a completely missed opportunity for bar side treats and eats. They need to clean it up and rethink all the junk piled up... they could serve twice as many people and brighten the place up too.

Caffe Roma is amazing! I am so surprised at the rating, it should really be 4-5 stars. Quick note: best desserts around, cash only! My husband and I stumbled upon this bakery after dinner last night and we are so glad we did. I had their cheesecake with a cappuccino and the hubby had their cannoli with jasmine tea. Our dessert was simply amazing. My cheesecake was the creamiest I have ever had and having it with the cappuccino was the perfect combination. It seems like a family run business and everybody was so sweet and helpful. We'll definitely be back for some more pastries!

I've been in the hospitality industry for close to a decade but the 45 minutes I spent here will be a warm memory for the rest of my life. After walking the streets of New York for close to 6 hours on a cold, blustery day. My partner had her heart set on coffee, I followed her lead and we began our search for the perfect roast We ended up in Little Italy around 7:00pm and immediately the beautiful exterior of the Caffe Roma caught our eye. Moments after walking in we were immediately greeted with pleasant welcomes and good conversation. The aroma of delicious pastries and fine coffee cut through the fiber of my mask and I knew I was in for something special. The espresso was magnificent, bold, and authentic The cannoli was masterfully crafted, with warm spices that complimented the richness of the filling. The Italian Cheesecake was rustic and delicious. I promise you won't be disappointed. The candied citron cuts through the luxurious filling and offers a brightness that just works. The time I spent at Caffe Roma moved my heart, soothed my soul, and brought a tear (or two) to my eye. Sometimes it's the small things that bring us joy. The pandemic has been hectic and harsh for many but Caffe Roma serves as a reminder that there's somewhere you can always seek comfort on a cold day. Thank you!

Staff is friendly very fast pastries are good portion very tasty if in lil italy give it try better than ferraro sorry that is a tourist trap .

Great pastries!! I would come here again and get to go. Horrible service. Took forever to order and get our drinks. Then even longer to get food. I love a family run joint. But they definitely need to higher another person. The older gentleman was nice but everyone else was rude.

Great little Italy ambiance, wonderful espressos and coffees. I've taken several visitors and they've all enjoyed it.

If you are looking for a great little homey type spot with a great ambiance and good coffee I definitely recommend this place , The staff super friendly and smiles on their face the pastries/cookies phenomenal!! Definitely a hidden gem !!! Diamond in the rough so to speak

On a fair note I can give this pastry shop an average rating. It does everything on the average side of any given pastry or bakery but for the quality it puts out that is a slight higher than the average I give it a 4 star merit in it's category. There were several selections we chose and shared. Presentation is important, no?...of course, in a treat. The first was an oval shaped (5 inches in diameter about 3 inches tall), plump, mini cake-like cheesecake. It had a vanilla coated top shell with an oreo cookie in it's center. It taste sweet and with a vanilla flavor. It did not have a strong memorable flavor to it. It was just an average pass by snack not to be remembered. The second of the same design was a darker brown shade all around with a swirl of chocolate syrup on top and that was my favorite choice. It being a chocolate cheesecake. This mini cheesecake had a stronger chocolate flavor over the cheesecake flavor. The texture of all the 3+ varieties of mini cheesecake slanted toward more cheesecake than cake. They were very moist, mid level flavored with chocolate/vanilla/etc... and a light cheesecake taste. I also enjoyed their cannoli. It was huge, the size of a sausage. I might eat a cannoli once a year. And in comparison I only wish the flavor of the cream filling inside was more intense in the side of ricotta/cream cheese flavor, it was very light. But the way it was made in the outside shell coated in chocolate and a double layer of crisp with the cream sticking out gave it a nice crunch factor mixed in with a delightful cream+chocolate chew. Dust some sugar on their mini croissant or other pastry treats and these reasons I would surely go back while in the area and craving a sweet treat. The coffee is good too.

The last great authentic Italian pastry shop in NYC. Forget Veniero's. Roma is the genuine experience, not tweaked to appeal to tourists or hipsters. What would you rather have? Your choice of a hundred second rate pastries, or half that many or fewer sorts of first rate stuff, plus perfect coffee? Roma has been there forever but never really changed to suit the prevailing weather and I respect that.

i got the tricolor cookies and brought some home. me and my parents loved them! a decent size for each cookie and very soft. very delicious. helpful staff too. very cute spot. i love how old fashioned it looked inside.
