Caffé Torino Review - South Lake Union - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Cafe Torino is a tiny cafe serves Italian espresso, has great WiFi, and is pretty quiet all day - with the exception of coffee machine noises. It’s the perfect place in South Lake Union to get some work done without the fear of running into someone you know." - Aimee Rizzo

First time here. We loved it. Our wait for 3 crepes was less than 20 minutes so we didn't think that was terrible. Portion sizes make them great for sharing. So we tried 2 sweet and 1 savory. Bisciff Banana, Peach Cobbler (summer menu) and the Sunshine (can't remember the full name!). We will be back to try some more.

This place was cute and quaint. Our daughter and son in law said we had to try the crepes and their coffee and beverages. All the staff was really nice and welcoming. The menu had a great amount of sweet and savory crepe options. The crepes we decided to get were the Very Berry, Steak & Portabello, Strawberry Cream, The Capri. Drinks we enjoyed were all iced the London Fog, Vietnamese Coffee and the Cafe Mocha. Didn’t get a chance to get a cronut but they looked amazing. Place was hopping. We all enjoyed our crepes my personal favorite was definitely the Steak Portabello highly recommended. My Vietnamese Coffee was so strong and tasty for the robust coffee lover. Definitely check this place out whether visiting or a local.

Google
Party tried the Eggs Benedict, Ti Amo, Pike's Place, and Apricot Brie crepes. The crepe dough itself is best suited to the sweet crepes or ones like the Ti Amo with strong sauces, as the crepe itself is slightly sweet. Creme brulee lattes were a hit. The buffalo chicken sandwich was also very good. We sat outside under partial shade while live music was playing. It was a busy day so there was some wait, but the atmosphere was enjoyable and we didn't mind.

Google
One of our favorite brunch places! Delicious food and great vibes, live music most Saturday mornings. We highly recommend the ‘croast’ (avocado toast but on a croissant), gawdaful (savory crepe with chili) and basically any sweet crepe. If you’re into coffee, they have really unique flavors like smoked cherry. And in the summer they are open almost every day!

Google
What a wonderful local gem! Met the owner and her husband who make everything fresh and seasonal. Completely wonderful crèperie and coffee house. Their April specials were amazing. Strawberries and creme crèpe and a bacon brie panini were highlights. We even tried some wonderful macarons. Specialty coffee drinks abound as well. I can't recommend the "kingslayer" coffee enough: cinnamon, vanilla and agave syrup hot coffee! Great outdoor pup friendly patio as well! Go support this local piece of wonder. 💜

Google
Went on a Sunday and couldn't believe how packed this place was, but the reviews looked great and Open on a Sunday! So I stopped in. They had live music out back, which made the long wait worth the while. I got the French Toast Crepe, and it was amazing. The maple cronut was also amazing, but the Strawberries & Cream Crep, which was surprisingly blan and not very sweet. Overall, I will come back when visiting the area.

Robert S.

Google
This is of my favorite places to get crepes and cronuts! I would recommend the Biscoff Banana Strawberry.

Google
So good! I ordered the Swiss Blitz, it was the perfect balance of savory and sweet. The jam took it over the top. We ate outside in the back even though it was a little chilly and were offered blankets. It was a nice touch. I'll definitely be back to try the savory crepes.

Yelp
Such a hidden local gem!! Still my fave cafe and crepe spot in the SLC area! Their food is fantastic, vibes are super cozy and quaint, staff always so welcoming, and prices excellent. Can't go wrong - we've loved everything we've tried over the years. They have rotating seasonal specials for drinks and food and it's always fun to see what concoctions they've created. This September we tried their Peanut Butter & Jelly Stuffed French Toast Crepe and it was FANTASTIC!! We loved it! Perfect amounts of peanut butter and a delightful raspberry jam, full of bananas too inside their delicious crepes - what's not to love?! On the savory side, my go to is the Eggs Benedict Crepe and the eggs are always flawlessly poached with their lovely hollandaise sauce. My son's fave is their Chicken Cordon Bleu Crepe and I can vouch that it's delicious too. Their lattes never disappoint- iced or hot - and my fave has become their specialty "1847" which is a lovely balance of vanilla flavors with raspberry purée in honor of the founders of the city - it's fabulous- highly recommend! They also have a seasonal latte special based on the prevailing astrological sign and it's always fun to see what they come up with lol. The staff and owners are just wonderful and always so friendly. The vibes are very conducive to relaxing conversation over a leisurely meal inside their cute little craftsman style home - or out on their elegant patio surrounded by gardens full of roses. Their menu has tons of options so there's something to please anyone surely - and their prices can't be beat. I make sure to visit at least once (sometimes more!!) anytime I'm in town seeing my son!

Yelp
I called to see if they'd make me another crepe cake for my youngest daughter's birthday (my oldest had one recently for her birthday and everyone loved it). The employee who answered the phone said she didn't think they made crepe cakes, but I let her know that they made me one recently. She said she'd need to call her manager and either she or the manager would call me back, but no one called me back. I ended up calling a different business and they made me an Oreo crepe cake. I'm really disappointed. I really wanted to love this place, but I have to take my business elsewhere.

Yelp
The sour, too-cool espresso cortado served slopped all over the demitasse cup would have lost me in a big way, but it was the kind barista asking "how was it?" and being receptive to some constructive input (grind might be too coarse, may be channeling, and mind the milk texture and pulling temperature) that has me hopeful that this good-vibe, homey, bustling, affirming cafe and bistro might improve their espresso/coffee craft. Besides, the warm, tender, and oozy, scrumptious-sumptuous raspberry- and cream-filled Cronut pardons many sins. 3.5 stars

Yelp
This is my first time being here and I find the ambiance of this place super charming. The service is very friendly and the latte is smooth and delicious! I also ordered the crepe w/eggs, hashbrowns & maple syrup yummy!

Yelp
Perfect chill spot for first date, catch a quick outdoor meal or get a coffee. Great crepes and paninis and the coffee is ridiculous good. Great service and nice shady patio. Also dog friendly!!

Audre H.

Yelp
We tried their Cronuts, I tried the Lemon and when I bit into my first bite, my mouth puckered up so bad from the Lemony goodness. They were delish! Service was excellent and the way it is set up is awesome.

Yelp
For someone who offers lunch items. They stopped selling lunch at 1:00 on a Saturday. We were there at 1:30 pm and they are open until 7 on Saturdays! that they shut of the grill at 1:00 for the day. I really wanted to try this place! Oh well not the place for me
google avatar

Yelp
The crepes are delicious and so big! It is better to eat outside in summer, inside is a bit stuffy. Perhaps if they tore down the wall for one larger dining room instead of two small ones. Also, the coffees were good lastly, service was nice but a bit slow.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
This place not only has incredible food with monster portions- but the ambiance is so charming and inspiring. Absolutely love coming here. Customer service is personable and friendly.

Yelp
Caffe Torino is so good! The staff was kind and although it was a Saturday and service was a bit slow, the food was delicious. I tried the Monte Cristo crepe and a cannoli. It was sooo good. I will be back!

Yelp
Ok so if you are in a hurry and want fast you may want to try Starbucks. But for cute cozy and great atmosphere this is your place. We walked in and were greeted immediately by one of the owners. The employees behind the counter were helpful and friendly. There was no pressure to hurry and order. This is something I appreciate at a new place I am trying. My wife got a vanilla latte and I got a Americano with cream. Both were good and hot. They had a gentleman playing live music in the corner it was not loud and made for a great background. We were there to catch up with a niece and I am afraid we monopolized a table for a few hours, but at no time did we feel pressure to leave. After awhile my wife ordered the Gawdawful Savory Crepe. Eggs Ham hashbrowns cheese and bacon in a crepe smothered in chili It was amazing. And large enough to feed all three of us. I definitely recommend the cute cafe.
google avatar

Todd G.

Yelp
We went there today at 1:35, knowing they close at 2 PM but assuming we would be served. We were greeted with " just to let you know we turn off our grill at 1:00". When asked why they didn't turn off the grill at 2 since they are open until 2 they didn't have a response but said we could get coffee. WE DIDNT WANT COFFEE. WE WANTED S CREPE!! That was our 1st and last time here.

Yelp
My cousin brought me here for brunch this past Sunday. It's a super cute & cozy little cafe off of Main St. The staff was friendly, decor super cute & festive & they had outdoor seating which was nice. I ordered a Milan crepe, white chocolate mocha & 2 cronuts (apple/chocolate) My cousin had the monte cristo sandwich, a taro smoothie & cronut. I was hoping the food would be great - it just was a little underwhelming for me. The cronuts were kinda blah & my crepe was a bit dry. No sauce. Would like to try again later but this time, I wasn't impressed.

Yelp
Nice little coffee shop offering panini's & pastries. It gets a little busy but worth a visit. A hidden gem.
google avatar

Christene H.

Yelp
Absolutely in love with this cute little spot! The interior is adorable but the outdoor seating area is a true gem. You would never guess it from walking up but there was a gentleman beautifully playing guitar in the back. We ordered the Monte Cristo and the Gawdaful crepes and devoured them both both! So happy we stopped in!
google avatar

Yelp
Caprese Panini and Breakfast Sandwich are our go-to menu items. They also have a wide coffee selection and great Italian sodas!
google avatar

Herbal T.

Yelp
Cute lil café spot near Farmington mall. The coffee is amazing and the ambiance is awesome! They have outdoor and indoor sitting. I didn't get to try their food, but I will be back to give it a try! The service is also amazing.
google avatar

Scott T.

Yelp
Love this coffee shop. Amazing selection of pastries and breakfast sandwiches and crepes. The coffee is also great, but be prepared to wait...like, for a really long time. Service is slow and often impersonal or even short. We've been snapped at a couple times. But if you have time for a slow breakfast or brunch this is a good spot. Try the Gawdawful crepe based on a classic from Big Ed's!

Ariana T.

Yelp
Great service even on a snowy day! Food was amazing and coffee was perfect! 100% recommend!

Casey H.

Yelp
Absolutely the SLOWEST place to get food!! We waited 45 minutes for our food and it was ok at best. Super bummed because this is only a few minutes from our home and hoped it would be somewhere we wanted to visit often. Won't be going back anytime soon. I hate leaving one star reviews but that's all I can give for the service we were given.

Brandon K.

Yelp
I went there earlier today. It was a pretty neat place. I got my order nice and quick and the staff was friendly. I only had an iced coffee but their crepes looked great. My only small gripe is the hours. I wish they were open past 2pm but that's just a personal thing as it limits when I can go there.

Taylor J.

Yelp
We did not like the manager's note on the door which said the cafe is closed on Wednesdays because they "can not find a dependable employee". There is no reason to publicly badmouth a former employee. It sets a bad tone for what should be a pleasant outing for their guests. We would not have dined there if we didn't have time pressure to finish breakfast. Furthermore, their Ti Amo crepe listed prosciutto as an ingredient but was served with a different type of ham.
google avatar

Christine T.

Yelp
I really, really wanted to like this place. The setting is so cute, and I love a good cup of coffee. But everything I ordered was bad. Like really bad. The crepe was rubbery and the meat seemed to be just rolled up lunch meat. I didn't even end up eating it. There were 3 of us and orders were filled about 20 minutes apart. That's right, we ate in stages. All 3 of us agreed the food and the coffee was bad (never mind the service). I am also appalled at the owner's responses to negative reviews. Calling out customers and giving them 1 stars for complaining. Saying it was their own fault or accusing them of leaving multiple reviews. Where is the professionalism? If I had seen those responses sooner I wouldn't have even tried this place. Hard pass for me. Too many great options out there to put up with this nonsense.
google avatar

Yelp
The cronuts are disgustingly cold and dense. Not airy or like a croissant at all. Very hard and almost stale. The apricot Brie crepe was amazing The house was cute.

Yelp
I've been going to Caffe Torino on occasion for the last year or so. Unfortunately every time I've been there they seem understaffed and the food and drinks always take a long time to come out. Luckily, the café has a very relaxed and comfortable environment that I enjoy spending time at. They have tons of seating outside both in front and behind the restaurant. There is also two small rooms with seating inside. The building is a cute historic home conversion that provides the perfect neighborhood café vibe. Although the service is slow, everything is always delicious when it does finally arrive. We have tried a good variety of menu items but our favorites are the Strawberries and Cream Crepe and the Prosciutto Panino. The coffees I've ordered are pretty good. The espresso alone is only ok. I expected a great espresso from an Italian café. Especially since "Caffe" means coffee in Italian. I love this place and go every chance I get. It's the perfect spot for a nice slow morning with a delicious breakfast.

Yelp
Coffee was good placing order easy the wait time for coffee was terrible it took over 15 mins and then my husbands wasn't even that hot. We had cannoli it was ok filling needed a little something
google avatar

Samantha R.

Yelp
I have now given this place a good faith effort for lattes. Today I ordered a white chocolate mocha and it tasted like there was no espresso added to it. I paid almost $4 for hot milk and white chocolate. My last visit we waited forever and the drinks were terrible as well.

Yelp
Love this place especially when I can bring my dog and sit outside!! Food is amazing and coffee is divine. Live music is always a bonus!

Yelp
Adorable little mom and pop cafe tucked away in a house in bountiful! The atmosphere there is so cute and quaint! I sat right next to the window and hung out for hours eating sweets, drinking cappuccinos and chatting! It's an adorable little hang out spot with great food and amazing service. The only employee did a fabulous job with the mid day rush! Love it and can't wait to return!

Matt D.

Yelp
You know. I keep looking for great restaurants that are truly unique gems. And boy have I found one. I have come past his place almost daily for 4 months. And never stopped in. And now I'm just mad I havnt known for longer about it. It is amazing. Unique. Quaint. Friendly. And man are they delicious. Truly 10/10. Had a sweet crape and a savory one. Both delicious. Couldn't recommend any higher.
google avatar

Yelp
+3 stars for good food -2 stars for unbelievably inefficient service This place is good, don't get me wrong, but they have no concept of prioritizing. They just take each ticket and go in that order, which means that when you have an hour between meetings and think it's worth going to a slower but local/independent coffee shop instead of Stbx, you may have to leave, without your order, to get back to that meeting because your coffee and cronut order were unfortunately behind, I'm guessing, roughly 17 crepe orders. ‍ Caffe Torino needs to have someone making drinks while someone makes food. It's really frustrating to have a simple order like cold brew and a cronut get put in line behind a ton of food orders and end up waiting over half an hour. And when someone orders the kind of drink you can just pour straight out from a jug or carafe, do it. Don't make them wait behind a million food orders for a simple cup of coffee. The young person behind the counter was doing the best they could with a handful of customers, but Caffe Torino really needs to make sure there is more than one person working.

Yelp
Loved this cute house turned cafe! We were pleasantly surprised by how delicious both the savory and sweet crepes were. We got and shared the Gawdawful crepe (sooo good) and the Biscoff Banana crepe (equally good). OH we also got an apple cronut (cross between donut and croissant) that I could have eaten 10 more of. The staff were friendly and the space was clean. Lost a star because the wait was a bit long.

Michelle H.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food! We enjoyed the Monte Cristo and the Gawdawful Crepes as well as 2 Cronuts. We were very impressed by the family-type atmosphere and personal service. We can't wait to return and try more menu items.

Yelp
I've heard much about this quaint little place on Main Street in Farmington. When I arrived this morning the Doors were locked but was quickly met by an employee who said whoever was set to open didn't make it in. She asked me if I had time so she could open up and get my order. She was very nice and really wanted to make sure I was taken care of, it is difficult to find employees these days who show up when they are supposed to, she covered her coworkers lack of commitment well. The coffee is very good, I had a Americano and settled into what was probably the living room of this close to century old home that was converted into a cafe. It is well decorated with many tables and chairs to choose from and a few tables and chairs for outside seating. I look forward to trying those delicious looking pastries and crapes someday.

Amber B.

Yelp
An ad came across my reels of an ad for this restaurant. The pictures looked amazing. So I thought I'd run down and try this little place out. Service was extremely slow. They brought my order out a sandwich at a time. Each time I told them it was to go. They apologized. I even had to ask for a bag to carry it all in. Didn't even say thanks for coming in. When I got home this is what my "paninis" looked like. No turkey. No nothing. My caprese panini had 1/2 in of mozzarella cheese...couldn't find the tomato. Had it been good food they would have a customer for life. Now. I would never even think of going back let alone bringing any friends with me. Totally awful. Have NEVER had a worse experience.

Yelp
This cafe used to be at Station Park but they moved to a historic home on Main Street in Farmington. They've expanded the menu with gelato and more pastries. The raspberry cronut a a dream that's not too sweet. It's so charming inside! There are a few tables outside and two rooms inside. You can see the gorgeous tree lined Main Street that shades the cafe. I'll be back for an Italian soda, a crepe and hopefully I'll be here when they have lasagna. This is an indulgence. Bring your friend and talk about the latest novel you just finished... it's the perfect spot to enjoy with a love it friend. I used to live closer and the restaurants in this area were a lot of chains and not much to choose from (Farmington Station greatly improved the food scene) so I'm happy to see a locally owned restaurant expanding. They found their home and I hope they're here to stay. I'm here on a Friday morning about 9:30 and there are around 8 people here. One sounds like a business brunch. There's jazz playing and no one is in a hurry to leave.
google avatar

Danielle A.

Yelp
Should really change hours or post if they're gonna be closed on a normal business day. Drove out to Farmington just to get crepes and cronuts for lunch and they were closed.
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
This place is amazing! It's so cute and homey. The staff are super friendly and the service is great! I'll definitely be coming back. Food is delicious.
google avatar

Travis H.

Yelp
Really good coffee and crepe selections. It's a tiny cafe so there is a short staff which makes the wait times longer but always worth it.

Tamasyn B.

Yelp
My mother and I had a lovely brunch yesterday afternoon at this charming cafe. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the shady outdoor seating. The service was kind and attentive, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience!
google avatar

Stacy E.

Yelp
I was surprised to show up at 9:15am and the place was closed. No post announcing that they would be closed. We waited about 5 minutes and at least 8 other customers showed up. They lost a lot of business this morning. I've eaten there before and the food was good. That's the only reason they got 2 stars. So disappointing.
google avatar

Chad R.

Yelp
Great crounuts! Great service. Great atmosphere and out door seating. My daughters love the Italian sodas.
google avatar

Morgan T.

Yelp
Very small but cute home. The food was good but not worth the hour wait. I would recommend going for the drinks which doesn't take as long. We even got forgotten and they had to start our order over. :( They were really nice though and did offer a free macaroon.
google avatar

David A.

Yelp
Food and ambience were great. Service was very lacking. Kind of wish I could readjust my pre-paid tip!

Ann H.

Yelp
Amazing Crepes! So many flavors! Great place! Small but ambiance was fun! We had sweet crepes and savory and would do it again! We will be back

Yelp
Lately, I only leave a review if they meet the three strike rule. An establishment doesn't meet customer service/efficiency, order, and quality of food. I get, they're busy. But, waited 40 minutes in receiving my order without given an estimated time of completion. Secondly, they were too busy to confirm if the order was correct. I ordered two crepes. A Venezia which includes Nutella, strawberry and bananas. The crepe was dry and failed to include the whip cream on top. They also gave me the wrong crepe. I ordered the steak and portobello crepe. When I got home (ordered carry out) began eating my crepe, noticed It had sausage and not the steak portobello crepe. I don't eat pork, so crepe went to waste since I was not planning to wait another 40 minutes in addition to the 10 minute drive to the establishment. The container used was downgraded to a pizza "to-go" box that didn't look appetizing. Crepe had soaked thru the box. Overall experience was a one star. Included pictures, not appetizing!

Yelp
I have been looking forward to trying caffé Torino for about 4-5 months now. I see a chiropractor nearby and always hope to stop in here to try the drinks and pastry's after since I live a bit farther away. Today was the 3rd time in 4 months I've stopped by during posted open hours and they don't appear to be open. Sign on the door says closed and I call each time with no answer. It looks very adorable and vibey but it's a bummer I haven't been able to catch them while they are open to give them a solid try. Hopefully I'll get lucky next attempt!

Lauri A.

Yelp
I was looking forward to eating at this caffe. We ordered 3 sandwiches which all came out at least 10 min. Apart. The dessert crepes took more than 30 min. To be served. The food was really good the service were very bad. Service would not even be a 1 star.

Sophie F.

Yelp
BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. the workers were extremely high strung and inconsiderate. they did not ask how the food was the whole time. very unsanitary. the workers were not wearing gloves and we found ~4 hairs and a piece of plastic~ in our food . The food was very plain and there was no wow factor. The cafe was absolutely freezing my toes were numb.
