We’ve been coming here for years. Tried other spots but this is home. Ant (Anthony?) and Jonny and Jenny and all the other baristas are top-notch for quality and chat. You’re not just a paying customer here, you quickly feel like a friend. I wish the food options changed with the seasons bc it gets a bit boring, but the coffee and conviviality are always great. We see a ton of regulars here every day, so it must be good!

I love the place its have big space, and so many choices for coffee and dessert. Also, they have sandwiches if you want to eat.

One of the best coffees in Portland, hands down. Today I was greeted by a very cheery man with a ponytail who provided me with exceptional service and was very genuine - Portland coffee shop rarity 🤣🤣 I loved my drink so much and wanted to order a second LOL, I went back up and he greeted me, helped me decide on a drink but when he went to ring it in, he realized he wasn’t because he was now on lunch! I never would have known because he was sooo helpful and accommodating, way more helpful than most baristas are WHILE they’re actually on their shift haha 😹🤣 another lady (much less charismatic and fun than him lol) rang in my drink and it was also delicious. Thanks ponytail guy! Actually, I believe it was a bun now in hindsight.

Google
I visited this coffee shop to grab a coffee and meet with a new business colleague, and it was an excellent choice. The space was clean, quiet, and comfortable—perfect for conversation. I was greeted with a soft smile and served promptly. My mocha was flavorful and beautifully presented with an artistic touch. Street parking was easy to find right outside. I highly recommend this spot for its customer-oriented service and welcoming atmosphere. Great for both casual visits and professional meetups.

Google
They get my (very simple) orders wrong as often as they get it right. The servers are aloof and disinterested. Nice place. Superior espresso. Pedestrian food/snacks at best. I keep coming back, but the customer service is McDonalds level. Don't expect more in that area: Just enjoy the really great espresso.

Google
Busy coffee spot in Portland in the Pearl District, part of a coffee chain. They had a tasty pepper coffee that kind of tastes like a hint of egg nog that was quite enjoyable for the holiday season. Outside of ordering and making your coffee, everything else is self serve, like putting cups and dishes away. Coffee is decent, they also give you some dark chocolate squares with your order. They also have some decent pastries, but they’re not made in house.

Google
I loved their coffee. It was actually my favorite coffee that I had in Portland in a fee days of my visit

Yelp
Cute coffee shop with yummy food and a great atmosphere! I love how open this cafe is. There is plenty of seating, but each table is spaced decently far from the others, so it doesn't get loud even when the place is rather crowded. The baristas were all super nice, and they recommended food/drinks to me.

Yelp
Wonderful service at this coffee shop. The barista helped us and went through a little of the menu with us. Relatively traditional brew options, which I love instead of all the add-ins/customized drinks that are everywhere. Ordered 2 cortados with oat milk. The espresso has very good flavor and the oat milk made it rich. Would be a good place to work or study.

Yelp
WHEN: Fri @1:30pm Wanted somewhere to work for a bit and this spot has all the basic necessities: seatings, outlets, beverages, pastries, and some savory foods. No wifi but they open late everyday (6pm). They even serve affogato! But all I had was: COLD BREW - $5.25 Served in a tall glass and comes with a cute little chocolate piece! I'm no coffee person, I just needed to buy something since I was hanging out here. It's not a fancy or well decorated cafe, but it was a convenient spot that has seating available but indoors and outdoors. Not too shabby!

Yelp
I love this cafe I go to school right around the corner and it's most of the students go to cafe. I really like the staff they are always so friendly, patient and helpful. The cookies are amazing.

Yelp
Solid coffee spot with a nice selection of light bites and pastries. The baristas were lovely, and the space is great--perfect for getting some work done, catching up with friends, or just grabbing a drink to go. ENJOY!

Hayley An A.

Yelp
I come here once in a while spending two to three hours working, depending on who the barista is, sometimes you can bump into someone who's rude and unfriendly. Sometimes, there are nice and friendly baristas. But the coffee and pastries here just mid. Only good thing is they are close to where I live and have work friendly tables and hours are okay too.

Yelp
Caffe Umbria is the perfect spot to grab coffee and a bite when you're on the go. The food is good, and fresh and their coffee might hands down be my favorite in the Portland Area. I've always received good service when I've came in, and the location is very convenient. As someone who likes to people watch, I always opt to cozy up and sit outside. This is a cute little spot to check out if you're in the area!

Yelp
One of my favorite coffee shops. Good coffee friendly service. The logo is nice shows a touch of Italy. I remember speaking with Rafael many years back. This is his creation as I remember. Great place in the Pearl. Nice windows to watch the rain. Each coffee comes with a piece of chocolate. Nice treats in the case and some lunch items. Today a jewelry stand someone was selling their wares. I had an americano. Nice a bit nutty flavor, crisp and clean. I was given a number and they bring your order to your table. Nice touch. Nice attention to detail, presentation of your order. Good mix of clients working on their laptops or meeting with friends. A couple of doors so you will see people come from different sides which adds to the flow and decor. I brought my laptop...creating the review here this evening. Oh no a downpour outside and I parked a couple of blocks away. I will stay a bit longer and wait for a break in the rain.

Yelp
Stopped in for a break from the heat. Quick efficient service with a smile. We enjoyed sitting outside and people watching. We loved our drinks so much we visited again two days later.

Yelp
Stop by during a coffee crawl in Portland! Inside it's a really nice little spot to enjoy coffee, chat with friends or do work! I love how big and open the coffee bar was so you watch them make coffee! Everyone was super friendly and helpful! I got the honey oat latte and it was delicious! If you like coffee and for it to be sweet definitely try it! I really enjoyed how it wasn't overly sweet and overwhelming.
google avatar

Yelp
Very nice coffee shop they will bring your coffee out to you. I had the cappuccino which was really smooth. No fancy latte art however very delicious. Just what I needed to get my morning started. Oh and as a plus you have a little chocolate on the side, just like the cherry on top.
google avatar

Yelp
Espresso and coffee makes the day for lots of peeps in The Pearl District. This is a bustling coffee shop to hang out inside or outside sidewallk table in the shade of trees. Cool vibe. I am really enjoying my cappuccino with a complementary chocolate. Also, serving up a spot of tea, cold drinks, yummy pastries and some sandwiches.
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
Great coffee shop for a quality brew! I love that they give you little chocolates with your drink. Just so you know, the espresso spritz was tasty, but just a bit too sweet for my taste.
google avatar

Joan F.

Yelp
Lovely coffee shop tucked inside Zupans grocery store. The Americano is my favorite drink here, and when I take the time, sitting outside with hot coffee in a classic porcelain cup feels exactly right. Service is always friendly and on point. Plus, it's only steps away from Zupans inspired floral arrangements and potted gardens. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Corner coffee shop in downtown. They have vegetarian breakfast sandwiches and ones available with meat! Lots of bakery items and standard drink menus! Very busy inside, very clean and almost every table was taken! I didn't wait long for my sandwich to be warmed up. The barista was nice and had et me know I could sit and they will bring my Togo order to me. Overall, great place for meetings or quick coffee and bite!
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful coffee shop in downtown PDX adjacent to a boutique hotel with lots of treat to choose from.

Yelp
I stopped by this cafe and the staff was very welcoming. I ordered a latte and quiche which were both very good.

Yelp
Caffe Umbria is a local staple, especially in NW. Offering consistently great coffee, espresso (this should be your reason for coming in), and a few ideal alcoholic drinks, you're bound to enjoy the experience here. Though I often spend time here during the morning or before evening festivities with a quick cortado, I had not previously come here for more than 20-30 minutes. Recently, the fantastic team informed me that between 11 am and close, Umbria offers one of the best deals for espresso martinis in the Pearl. They were right - espresso martini can be yours for $10-$12! A friend and I enjoyed these stunning drinks for a reasonable amount of time paired with their minimal charcuterie board, and anyone can enjoy a pre-party here. I'd recommend bringing a good book for a cozy afternoon on the patio and coming here anytime in the evening for a decent pick-me-up. I look forward to seeing what more Umbria does after their renovations. The new Friday music nights have been an ideal addition to the area.

Yelp
Loved my Americano from this place. Super deep flavor with low acidity! Also an extremely friendly staff :)

Jon F.

Yelp
Ordered an iced tea and a croissant sandwich, warmed up. Sat down next to someone else who had ordered food as well. 45 minutes later, neither the person I sat next to, nor myself, had received our food. Guess the staff had higher priorities than delivering the things we paid for.

M C.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick coffee and was pleasantly surprised. The barista was friendly and knowledgeable and my cortado was perfect. Coffees also come with a small chocolate. 5 out of 5 stars!

Yelp
The coffee was strong and flavorful for the Honey Oat Latte. Relaxed environment and friendly staff. I highly recommend this coffee spot!

Yelp
Nice spot to while away a couple of hours sitting outside and people watching in downtown Portland. Staff is very nice. I ordered a cold brew and it came in a lovely glass and with a small but delicious dark chocolate. I enjoyed the coffee drink thoroughly and shared my tiny chocolate with my companion.

Yelp
The best coffee in Portland, hands down! The intoxicating scent hits you the moment you enter the coffee shop and immediately warms all of my senses. All of their drinks are stellar; the cappuccino has the perfect amount of foam; the mocha is well balanced with hints of chocolate that don't overwhelm; and my regular, the Americano is rich and smooth. If I lived in this neighborhood, I'd be here all of the time! While you can't sit inside during these Covid days, there are several sets of tables and chairs outside to park yourself while you enjoy your tasty beverage over conversation and great people watching. We stopped in the other day opting for coffee and a pastry rather than a proper lunch. Sounds reasonable, right? My Americano and pecan bun were the perfect combo! And sitting outside with a friend the most welcomed sense of normalcy in these isolating times. Baristas are friendly, always serving with a smile that you can see even though they are wearing masks. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Spoke with Tasha she is the site manager great person to interact with would recommend this location

Yelp
Umbria has some of the best brewed coffee in town! Always a joy to stop in for a quick coffee or place to work. Ambiance is very relaxed!

Yelp
Why did it take the bean so long to do its homework? Because it was procaffeinating. And Procaffeniate you should when the Coffee is this good ! Caffè Umbria`s roasting go back to the 1940's, when Ornello Bizzarri built his roastery in Perugia, Italy and I know this tid-bit only because I genuinely love their coffee and feel that this place gives an authentic Italian experience with their espresso based drinks . Located in the heart of the Pearl District, this is an ideal spot to spend some time people watching , just sitting by a book or hanging out with a friend or two. The café is spacious ,well-lit and has lots of seating both indoor and outdoors. I am a fan of the Gusto Crema and Bizzarri blend , as they make for really good drip as well espresso drinks(Cappuccino ,macchiato, caffè latte) . They also have a lot of pastries ,sandwiches ,pasta ,soups and other baked goods , along with wine and beer . Service is friendly and fast .

Yelp
This place had no chill. Both baristas were rude and acted like they had a stick up their bootyholes. Coffee was mediocore, but honestly, it probably didn't taste good because of the bad vibes my friend and I dealt with from the moment we walked in.
google avatar

Liann A.

Yelp
Located in Downtown Portland, I believe in the Pearl District right on a corner street. Cute little spot for a coffee, to study, or meet up with friends. I walked by on a Sunday morning and grabbed a caramel macchiato. They had food options both dining and take out. Huge windows to people watch and some outdoor seating areas. Service was quick, looked like there were plenty of spots to for plugs and amongst all of the coffee places in Portland, more local that you could just pick something up without waiting a while.

Yelp
I went to Caffe Umbria to kill some time, and only chose it based off the proximity to another store. I'd rate this place a 3.5, rather than 4 stars. I think our order came out pretty quickly. We got an iced tea, matcha latte, and an almond croissant. The iced tea was mostly a cup of ice. I think it would have been fine on a hot day since the ice would melt, but on a rainy day, not so much. This may also be a Portland thing, but it seems like most if not all matcha lattes here are pre-sweetened. I think pre-sweetened matcha is an abomination, but I'm not letting that affect my rating because it seems like the norm here. It wasn't bad, but my first sip was one of those moments where you expect to have something not sweet, and your taste buds get hit with sweetness. I would have asked to see if they had an unsweetened version, but didn't think to ask. The almond croissant was the stand out here, and I really enjoyed it. There was nothing really wrong about the place, and I'd be willing to go back, I'd just choose different drinks.

Yelp
Cute modern place with large windows, friendly staff and few choices of sandwiches, pastries, cookies and if course coffee. Modern European look. Quiche was particularly good, side salad was all right. Coffee was good, and Nutella cookie was the best. Trendy customers!
google avatar

Angela C.

Yelp
This location is centrally located in the Pearl district, on a corner perfect for people watching. I ordered a lavender latte from here and it was delicious, a great balance of espresso and lavender flavor. I loved the ambiance here, very relaxed and chill. It seems like the perfect place to sit and catch up with friends. They also have food here, pastries and paninis, if you're craving something to eat with your drink.
google avatar

Kekua M.

Yelp
One of the best cups of coffee I've had in a long while. With a warm and friendly ambiance, it feels like I'm back in Europe.
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
Mocha: Good. Nothing special. Marionberry scone: Also decent. Yogurt parfait: Really enjoyed it! 3.5 stars. Overall this place has a nice atmosphere. Open and bright environment with lots of windows! Decent food and coffee but nothing extraordinary.
google avatar

Paul M.

Yelp
This place is really good. It is right next to my barber so I always stop and get an americano when I am in the area. The baristas are polite and the space is clean. I recommend this place if you are in the area and want some coffee.
google avatar

Alan B.

Yelp
Horrible service. Only one person at the counter to take orders and he's busy with a wholesale customer buying a 5lb bag of beans. He finishes with that customer to help me but can't focus long enough to take my order but decides instead to help another clerk. So he later has forgotten what I wanted and is confused even counting out change. One customer at a time, please... a quick and easy lesson for anyone in retail. Oh, and please have someone to bus the tables now and then so I don't have to clean one off before taking a seat. :-) But this overall shop is convenient and pleasant with a good "vibe". Their lighter roast coffee is pretty tasty, the food fresh, and there's lots of space for meeting friends or relaxing on your own. The few times I've been here, the only issue has been the service. Fix that, and this place easily gets another star or two.
google avatar

Patrick T.

Yelp
Fantastic soy latte. Great service. Charming Indoor and outdoor seating. I love how you get a little dark chocolate with your coffee! I was only in Portland a few days but i think i drank four coffees from here!! And I have been thinking bout the coffee since I left!! Yum yum!
google avatar

Mehrnaz H.

Yelp
This is a modern, large and beautiful coffee shop in heart of Pearl district. I had purchased the Umbria beans but did not know they are from Seattle nor that they own coffee shops. Seems that they own 3 so far and expanding. Had a great latte (latte art could have been nicer), great tasting, and the setting is nice and relaxing. Unfortunately they were out of their gluten free baked goods and I didn't try any food with my drink. My gal pals each had a sweet baked piece with their coffee and loved what they ordered. A good place to hang out specially when it start raining in the green city of Portland
google avatar

Max K.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic little coffee shop! It felt very high end and the coffee itself is really delicious. It seemed like a nice place to hang out and get some work done. Personally I like it just a tad more than Stumptown! The presentation is better than the majority of coffee shops I have been to as well! The latte art is beautiful!
google avatar

Yelp
My boyfriend & I stopped in after visiting the Oregon Historical Society right around the corner. I ordered a medium cappuccino (pictured) & my boyfriend ordered a medium iced americano. The espresso used in both is amazing, smooth & has a great acidity balance. Not to mention the foam in the cap is spot on with great micro foam. Stop in for a good cup of coffee and catch a vibe! P.S. The complementary chocolate made me so happy. Visit was at 11:40AM, 9/24/2020.
google avatar

Charlie T.

Yelp
The place normally opens til 7pm... so you can get your late coffee fix or some tasty macaroons. Both the macaroon and chocolate were tasty and had good flavors. The chocolate was not too sweet, but had like a soft hazelnut taste to it. The place is pretty spacious and had many small tables for people to relax and chat.
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
Best espresso outside of Italy. My almond cap has the lightest foam and very enjoyable. Dog friendly! They give you a piece of chocolate with your drink! Highly recommended!
google avatar

Blake S.

Yelp
The coffee, tea, and food are delicious of course. The one thing that stands out is the customer service. Today we had the pleasure of being assisted by the incredibly-caring and welcoming Rebecca, who truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I can't recommend this place enough!
google avatar

Brian W.

Yelp
Excellent coffee and an authentic European styled coffee house experience. Great place to people watch and both indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is friendly and fast. Excellent spot for a meeting or paper reading. One improvement would be better snack selection. Maybe I'm just late in the day for that?
google avatar

Yelp
Delightful coffee shop in the Pearl. Fresh gourmet coffees with energetic professional staff. Fabulous pastries . Many regular customers.

Yelp
Get the heck outta here with that stumptown stuff, this place isn't a typical PNW coffee shop this has an Italian feeling flair to it. Food was good for this kinda place I got a bagel... pretty good bagel. I got a expresso shot bc it seemed to go well with the shop feel (that might be a dub reason but whatever) The expresso was good, right amount of flavor to bitterness ratio, if you like expresso this is good, they also give you a bite of chocolate with it. Would recommend!

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
My go to coffee shop because I live really close by but even if I didn't I would come out of my way for here. They have great coffee and vegan breakfast sandwiches! Also you get a lil chocolate with your coffee. It's nice

Yelp
I found this place on Yelp after I searched for "quiche" while finding a coffeeshop to have breakfast at. I actually planned on stopping by here anyway based on initial Yelp/Tripadvisor reviews, but at the last minute decided I wanted a quiche for breakfast. Anyway, when you walk in, you notice how spacious everything is. There is ample seating throughout the cafe - which is a plus. I hate cafes where space is limited or tight. I looked at the pastry display and to my dismay did not see any quiche. The clerk that greeted me was friendly and I asked her if there was a quiche dish. She told me they normally have it out for lunch, but "let me see what I can do." A moment later she returned with the chef who told me they just finished it. How nice of her to check rather than just tell me "nope, don't have it." I wouldn't have known better since I'm not from the area. I also ordered the Espresso Fredo which was delicious. It's pretty much espresso and milk froth over ice. Very rich, very smooth. Came with a piece of dark chocolate too. The quiche came with a small salad, but the quiche itself had a creamy rich filling with fragrant mushroom pieces. The crust was buttery and tasty. Will definitely try to stop by this place one more time before I head home to pick up another slice of quiche. Cafe has other offerings as well including gelato - but I already have a favorite stop nearby for that (Cool Moon). What's interesting is how some of these reviews claim the place is snobby/pretentious. I never felt that coming here. Of course I didn't really pay attention to the patrons - but the staff was friendly, efficient and attentive.

Yelp
First off, I just moved to the pearl and wanted to try a good coffee spot ! Staff was very quite and not friendly ! No social distancing was going on with customers! Not only that there was a dog inside as well ! I love dogs however not when I'm ordering something inline and they keep barking. I ordered the punkin spice latte that was not good at all tasted like hot cream and water . When I let them know that they had a very bad attitude !!! I just left ! Never again !!!
