On the Grid : Cahaba Brewing

"Cahaba Brewing craft clean, consistent, easy-on-the-palate brews, perfect for lazy days spent tubing and canoeing on their namesake, the local Cahaba River. Recently relocating to Avondale from their original, tight quarters in the Pepper Place/Lakeview district, Cahaba Brewing’s new taproom provides more than ample space for brewing, canning, cornhole pitches, Skee-Ball machines, and their sizable, loyal following. Their first and most popular offering, their American Blonde Ale, is the thing to order here — an ultra-accessible brew with a crisp, clean finish that locals sip with intense devotion." - Lewis Communications

The Best Bars in Birmingham, Alabama | Eater Atlanta

"Located in the Continental Gin industrial park, Cahaba Brewing Company is the heartbeat of Crestwood. The facility has ample indoor and outdoor space, and it’s often put to use as a space for events. Holidays and warmer weather bring “Cahabazaar” artist or night markets, the calendar here is regularly stacked with bingo, trivia, open mic comedy, and chess nights, and local food trucks make an appearance nearly every day." - Sarra Sedghi

Nice space, good beers, good food. My wife and I shared a couple of flights- 4 beers each flight and shared a BLT and a wedge salad from the food truck - which were both very tasty and we could order using my cellphone from the bar. Easy!

I cannot recommend this venue highly enough! From start to finish, Ryan and John went above and beyond to ensure our corporate Christmas party was a complete success. As a first-time user of the space, I had countless questions about layouts, food options, audio needs, and a host of other details. Ryan and John were not only incredibly responsive but also made me feel like a top priority every step of the way. Their professionalism and expertise were evident in how seamlessly everything came together. They helped me visualize and perfect every detail, ensuring that the event reflected our vision perfectly. No question or request was too small, and every email and call was met with immediate attention and a solution. On the day of the event, their presence was invaluable.Everything was set up exactly as planned, and they remained attentive throughout the evening. The venue itself was stunning and perfectly suited for our party, but what truly set the experience apart was the impeccable service provided by Ryan and John. Their dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for our success made all the difference. If you're considering hosting an event at this venue, don’t hesitate. Ryan and John are absolute gems, and you can trust that your event will be in the best hands possible. Thank you for making our holiday celebration unforgettable!

We were traveling and came here after playing golf. We came early so the food truck wasn’t set up yet so we only had a flight of beers to try their IPAs. The place was huge. The beers were great. Our favorite was the River Haze. They had beers to take home, and we took home a 6 pack of the River Haze IPA. There was plenty of parking with a great staff and the place was wide open inside with a great view of the brewery where the beer is made. It was a comfortable atmosphere with a relaxing vibe. We enjoyed our time here and would definitely return if we are ever in this area again.

We had beer and cocktails. Nice environment, clean bathrooms. Ample parking. We bring snacks and nobody bothered us. Enjoyed the evening.

Google
This space is huge! I l love the different areas and just how spacious it is. They have a great patio space that runs along the whole side of the building. Inside there are many tables and seats. They even have a couch you can hang out on around the corner by the pinball games and bathrooms. The Current is a food truck outside that was on the patio. Nice and helpful people at the food truck(along with the bartender too).

Google
The Barrel Room and Current catering are fantastic partners to host your event! We had a trivia night there recently, and we could not have been better served. It was a fun night and the John and Ryan were the best at customer service! Thanks Cahaba!

I had the opportunity to set up my photo booth at Cahaba Zarr this past Saturday, and it was such a great experience! The venue had an awesome vibe with a wide variety of local vendors, delicious food trucks, and some truly amazing live music throughout the evening. Even though the rain put a bit of a damper on things for a while, the energy stayed positive and the crowd was great. Everyone I met was super friendly and welcoming, and the event was really well put together. It’s clear a lot of heart goes into creating a space that supports small businesses and brings the community together. – Jonna KB Photo Booths

Google
I happily recommend Cahaba Brewing to anyone looking for a great venue. I booked my event from a different state having never been there and I was surprised at how much space they gave us! We booked a graduation party for about 30 people and we catered it through the Current at Cahaba. We enjoyed a fresh and delicious taco bar with plenty of food for everyone. We had leftovers! They also provided us with a table for the cake we bought and ice for our nonalcoholic soft drinks. Our party was in a designated area of the taproom where we had plenty of room to enjoy a private celebration and also engage in the fun social setting of the bar scene.

Yelp
Good vibe. Bar tender was friendly. They were having a dog adoption! That alone is worth 5 stars. We did not eat, beer only. Beer was good. Pretty good selection. Merch was pricey.

Yelp
SO we went to the Tall Bike Jousting event held at Cahaba Brewing... That was an experience! The brewery is a nice place... Huge nice place actually. I'm not going to be able to describe the wait on a normal day, but with the huge crowds, the wait for a couple of brews was not bad at all. They were pretty efficient at serving the crowd. I had a Peach Royal Sour that was based on a Berliner Weisse and was an excellent beer... I have tried many of their other options since I spend some time in Birmingham and a lot of places around there carry Cahaba beers. I particularly like the Blood Orange Blonde. Food looked good, but I can't say since we had food from a food truck parked on the brewery property. It was good... Try the place out.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, family and pet friendly and so much space inside and out. The beers and cocktails were all great and so was the food from the food truck.

Yelp
Hey there, brew enthusiasts! Let's chat about my recent hangout at Cahaba Brewery, where the vibes were as cool as the brews. Now, let's talk grub from The Current food truck. Starting off, the Pretzel with beer cheese was a crispy delight - that fried texture adds a perfect crunch without the grease. And that beer cheese? Spot on, though not too heavy on the beer flavor. Next up, the Onion Rings - that beer batter was everything, giving them a satisfying crispiness. Onto the mains, the Melt was a hit, but let's talk about the Smash Burger - an absolute favorite of mine. Juicy and flavorful, it's a must-try. And can we discuss the Reuben? The sour kraut and beef mixture was a taste sensation. Now, let's raise a glass to the drinks! Cahaba always delivers with a stellar variety of brews. I'm a fan of classics like Blonde and Pale Ale, but the specials like the Imperial Blonde and Rye Barrel Aged Stout really stole the show this time. Kudos to the staff, especially Ryan, for always making us feel welcome. And let's not forget the spacious ambience - Cahaba's warehouse setup with ample indoor and covered outdoor space is a real winner. As a local, Cahaba Brewery is a no-brainer for me. With great food, brews, and vibes, I'll definitely be back for more chill hangouts. Cheers to that!

Yelp
Always a good time at Cahaba! They have not only beer but also cocktails for non beer drinkers like me. They have lots of events here too.

Yelp
Was looking to order a seltzer but they don't offer any. The bartender offered to make me something similar and it tasted really good. I came on a Thursday night - the ambiance was chill and very clean!

Yelp
There's always something fun going on at Cahaba Brewery! I stopped by for lunch with a group that of friends one Saturday and had a great time. They have plenty of outdoor seating, which I love, and the taproom is spacious as well. I tried a burger from the food truck and it was delish! I also tried the boozy lemonade since I'm not really a beer fan. Great place to spend a game day or night out with friends.
google avatar

Yelp
Good selection of beers and food is close by if the on-site food truck isn't open. Would recommend for group get together.

Yelp
Great place. Very spacious and great selection of beers. Pet friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating. Food truck outside. Lots of parking. Friendly staff.

Yelp
I've been here for a special event before and recently came to try the food truck. While waiting for the food we decided to get cocktails to enjoy with it. I chose the Blackberry Breeze (Blackberry basil syrup, Lime juice, Fizz) and my son went with the Flip Flop Fashioned. I thought my drink was good but will probably try something else next time. My son did enjoy his old fashioned which has become his go to cocktail. I am not a beer drinker so it was nice that they have added some cocktails since my last visit. My son also will regularly stop by to get a growler of some of the seasonal brews. We sat near one of the (maybe only) working patio heaters at an outdoor table since all the indoor tables were taken or reserved. Apparently there is not a designated smoking area on the patio. It would be nice not to have to walk through or be surrounded by customers and employees taking a break while trying to enjoy drinks and food. Based on this experience, I would be disappointed if I return and outdoor seating is the only available option. The special event I attended had catered food from an outside group, The event space was nice and accommodated the speakers and video well.

Yelp
I have been here a couple of times. The first few they didn't have any mixed drinks... this time they did!!! Came here with friends as they were having some sort of festival with food trucks. I was exited to go so I could try the food truck they always have there... but alas, they did not have their regular menu with burgers... so I waited until later. The atmosphere here is always casual with a lot of friendly people. The bar tenders on staff have always treated me very well.. now that they serve their own vodka I had to buy a bottle.... As the cahababerry lemonade was spot on!!!! Great job! Now that they do serve mixed drinks we will be back more often!! Great place to hang out with friends and easy enough to make new ones here!! This is a must stop on a Saturday afternoon especially on a sunny day..

Yelp
One of stops on our Birmingham Brewery Crawl. We took an Uber air we didn't have to worry about parking. Did not appear to be a lot of spaces. Also, it's kinda tucked down from the road so our driver missed it on the first pass. But, make sure to find it!! Great spot. A huge covered front porch? Patio? Not sure what to define it as because it is so massive. The food truck sits at the far end. We sat inside to start. They had a music game going on with a DJ of some sort. But thank goodness, it was not too loud. I have been to many places where they do music bingo but they play the music so loud it rattles the fillings in your teeth. :-) The area inside is wide open as well. I had the Peanut Porter beer and it was fantastic!! I highly recommend this place. The food truck was awesome as well.

Yelp
Influencer Davida's Diary invited me to her H&R Block Event at the Brewery! I had a marvelous time! The vibes and drinks were awesome! The beer selections were pretty amazing. I tried one before I left. They have Skeet Ball Games, lounge sections and you can see the Brewery!!!

Yelp
CHEERS TO A HOPPY LIFE! Thanks to a fellow Yelp Elite friend of mine, Daphne, Courtney and I were invited to a BBQ contest today at Cahaba Brewing Company. I had not been to this brewery yet, but it has been on my list for a while. I'm now realizing how much I love to check out these breweries and other businesses when there are events and happening occurring. This way you not only get to experience the business, but also get to experience how the staff handles events and happenings. Located in one of the many small suburbs of Birmingham, Avondale. Cahaba Brewing is hidden away, if you are not looking for it you might not be able to find it. This brewery definitely has stood out above others in my opinion. I know everyone always raves about Avondale Brewing, another one I need to check out one of these days, but Cahaba, really impressed me. It is a HUGE warehouse. The inside is vast and there is a lot of seating. High top tables and low ones too. You get a barn yard feel to this place. I am not sure it that was just me or not. There are activities for children as well as for adults. So you are free to bring the kiddos with you if you plan on stopping in. Lots of board games and skee ball too. Their menu has a little bit for every type of drinker. Lights, lagers, sours, stouts and more. I am much more of a light beer/sour gal myself. Today the only sour on the menu was their South Beach Sour. It was delicious. Light and earthy, just the way I like it. The main reason I say that this brewery stands tall above the rest is because not only do they have activities for adults and children, they also take care of their female customers in a way that no other breweries in town do. I had to go to the bathroom while here today. When I walked into the stall I saw a cup holder for my beer. This simple addition is an amazing sight to see. In this day of age, you can never be too careful. I hear way too many stories about women being followed home, or drugged at bars. But by adding a cup holder into the bathroom, now women can bring their cups with them and not have to fear someone dropping something into their cup when they get up to use the bathroom. Instead they can bring their drink with them. I am so happy there are breweries the bars out there that really do care about their customers safety. So for any women who might be reading this review right now and pondering if going out for a night on the town with the girls, Cahaba Brewing will definitely be a safe place for you to go. Overall, the warehouse is kept very clean. The people are very kind and helpful. The beer and other beverages are good and you can also have the option of bringing the party home with you as they have a great to go cooler near the front of the brewery. If I could give this establishment more than five stars I totally would. Bravo!

Yelp
Great atmosphere for a social joint. Also, a lot of space to move around and options to sit and chat with your party or significant other. If beer is not your thing per SE, fruitier options are available. The night I went, there was an awesome food trailer with plenty of options. I got a Greek chicken wrap that was amazing. I would recommend the Cahaba Brewery day in and day out. It was a great experience.

Yelp
Looks like a really nice place to hang out when the weather is nice. They have spaced out patio seating and food trucks in the parking lot. Lots of room to social distance. I really like the arcade games in the back by the bathrooms and they have ski ball. So old times! I LOVE the wood barn doors throughout.

Yelp
This brewery is Amazing!! It's family and kids friendly and they have the best beer and cocktails in town!! You will not regret spending your money and time on this place! The staff is super friendly and they will always bring the best recommendations for your type of taste. Don't miss the opportunity to check them out!

Yelp
I've been here many times. One of the first times was for their Game of Thrones watch parties. My husband and I had such a good time nerding out with all the other GOT fans. Since the pandemic started, I've been a few times. The size of this place really makes it easy to social distance. There are multiple seating areas indoors and outdoors that are spread out far enough to make me feel safe. The employees have always been friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable. The normally have food trucks on location so you can have food with your beverage. I definitely recommend this place!
google avatar

Yelp
I can't believe I've never visited here since they make my go to beer but we popped in for a quick visit. Staff was friendly and everything was really clean.

Yelp
I wish I could give 10 stars! We came on a Saturday around 1. They were not super busy and had plenty of tables and parking. We walked in and immediately, we were impressed by the old skee ball machines that you can play at no charge. The interior had a cool industrial feel and I loved the big glass wall displaying the brewing equipment. They offer food from their food truck outside, but we didn't make out way there on this visit. They had an extensive menu and the staff is super knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming! They are kid friendly too! We are planning to get a keg for am upcoming party so we asked about that and they do infact sell/rent them for parties. Go here and have a beverage..you won't regret it!
google avatar

Yelp
Cahaba is a mainstay for me with their canned products around the state, so it was a real treat to be able to visit their taproom. Luckily, their in-person experience doesn't disappoint! The facility is huge, with high ceilings and lots of room to spread out. There are some games available to play in less restricted times, a few big screens to watch TV, and other things to bide the time with friends. They have the option for flights, with awesome wooden boards to boot! Lots of merch available as well. The beers were varied and tasted great. Can't really go wrong here!

Yelp
Five stars then ...five stars now! CBC is one of my fav breweries in Birmingham! I love coming here - great atmosphere and great beers/cocktails. The layout of the brewery is very spacious. There's live music , food trucks and you can even rent out a space for an event. What's not to love about CBC?! The staff is always super friendly as well has helpful!

Yelp
Went on the 4th of July. The staff were friendly. But several beers were sold out (not their fault for being popular). But after an 8 beer flight, none of the beers wowed me.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
Cahaba is a huge venue which offers enlightening are to have multiple events going on at the same time. Very kid friendly and offers cocktails. Staff was very nice. I would recommend Octoberfest when available.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
A great brewery with great beer. The staff are great and the taproom is definitely dog friendly. This is a phenomenal choice to come hang out and satisfy a thirst both physical and a thirst of the soul. Breweries are popping up everywhere and it is only a matter of time until the market is oversaturated, it will be breweries like this that will survive.
google avatar

Dj D.

Yelp
Chill spot to hang out with friends and/or family. There is a beer for every type of beer drinker. My favorite is the strawberry blonde. They host a variety of events that draw a diverse crowd. Trivia night is a favorite.
google avatar

Will B.

Yelp
I know that I do this all the time. I apologize for how often it happens. As an avid Yelper, I am embarrassed when there is such a phenomenal local biz that I haven't reviewed. I will admit that I don't frequent breweries as much as I used to. But I am pretty the first time I came here, there is no way that a review wasn't written. I specifically remember writing about the really cool space with a long history. Old freight elevators and exposed bricks are always cool for a space. But let's talk about SPACE. There is so much room here. They even have a huge private event space. Awesome arcade space, fantastic display of their brewing facility and now added in spirits. The staff is always awesome and I can't see why this would be anything less than five stars. Not only a great local brewery, but a great brewery all around
google avatar

Pat G.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Family, animal friendly . Liza the pig was a hit. We ended up staying for over an hour and 2 beers . Enjoyed all the pooches. Food truck parked outside , that you can purchase food and bring into the brewing company. Great time had by all.

Yelp
I've been to most of the breweries in Birmingham. I don't know how I had never been to this one before. This one was different from the others. It's like it had no soul. It didn't have a vibe, or a feel. It was 5pm when I was there. The sun was up. They were blasting the music you would hear at 2am at nanafunks. It was so loud you couldn't carry a conversation. The atmosphere was just so far off from. Even sitting out side, it was so loud you couldn't hear. Birmingham has some world class breweries. Each and everyone of them has a different vibe and different feel. No matter how many times you visit there, it has the same homey feel but Cahaba doesn't have that. I had 4 beers there. A blonde, an IPA, a stout, and something else I can't remember. They all were just not good. As a Birminghamian I wanted to love them. I just couldn't. To add to them not being that good, they weren't filled anywhere near the top. I get not filling to the brim to reduce spillage. But these were far from the top. I felt like a little kid at Pizza Hut.
google avatar

Jenny S.

Yelp
We stopped in to attend a beer and boozy cupcake tasting. This place was amazing! It has a super chill vibe. The place is HUGE both inside and out so there is plenty of room to spread out and social distance if that is a concern. The beers are all excellent and very well crafted. The brewers take extreme pride in their beer and took time to tell us about them and answer questions. A must stop when coming to Birmingham.
google avatar

Marcia N.

Yelp
I had a great time at Cahaba Brewing Company! I actually love that there were kids there playing games and it was nice to have cute dogs around. The beer choice was awesome and the guys behind the bar were laid-back. It was neat that you could see the brewing Equipment and there was a lot of space. The chairs were comfortable and the tables were nice, wood. It seems like everybody was having a good time. It rubs off on you!
google avatar

Paul C.

Yelp
There are some nice beers brewing at Cahaba Brewery. This place is big and open, and a great place to get lit.
google avatar

Lexi K.

Yelp
One of my fave breweries in town! Plus I'm a huge fan of their Cahaba Blonde so it's nice to get it off the tap. They have different games you can play and plenty of space to chill. I really like how the interior is set up too!
google avatar

Katie M.

Yelp
Great beer! Fun conversation with the bartender. He was really kind and helpful. They had a limited edition Mexican Coffee Batch 1000, Imperial Stout. My husband said that was the best tasting stout he'd ever had! I really liked the Irish stout. Smooth, like Guinness, but more flavor. Would have bought a 6-pk of that to take home if we lived closer. Definitely plan to return next time we're in Birmingham!
google avatar

Yelp
I recently moved to Alabama, and have seen the canned Cahaba brand in stores. My brother and I stopped in to meet up with a few people (we chose to go here bc we heard they had games). Facility was very spacious and clean. It was fairly cold inside, so I recommend if it's cold out, bundle up. I tried the Cinematic Sour. We bought a 6 pack afterward. We left just as the musicians were setting up. I would have liked to play the games they had but bc of COVID Precautions, they had them turned off. Bummer.

Yelp
This place is a common place where people in my school go to hangout. It was even here where I first met about half of my classmates, and we've gathered several times since for fellowship after weeks of studying. I have never seen it slow, as there is usually a great crowd in the wide-open taproom. Service is usually quick and efficient and there is plenty to do with the ski ball machines, golf simulator, pinball machines, dartboards and covered patio to host whoever comes. This is not the place to go if you aren't a fan of dogs, as many bring their pooches, but this adds to the fun of watching the crowd. I'm very satisfied with their beer offerings. I usually like stouts and IPAs, and they don't disappoint on the taste! Their Oka Uba IPA is very good, with a bold flavor that is well crafted. The Ryezome stout is strong with the right amount of coffee and chocolate hints to keep you sipping. The American blonde ale is good too and is the most widely available at local stores. Of course, you can buy 6 packs of all these in the taproom to enjoy wherever. They have a rotation of food trucks for everyday and they post their schedules online. I've never come on an empty stomach, but I can imagine how well the food pairs with the brews. Also, keep an eye out for bands that perform here and various events throughout the year. Even if you don't drink, Cahaba is a great place to hang with friends!
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
Sweet spot. Ample space for small and large groups of people and their pets. Fun board games and skee ball. Good times with good beer and company. Relaxing to enjoy a beer outside or inside.
google avatar

Alex R.

Yelp
This is the fourth brewing company to open its doors in Birmingham. They started in humble beginnings and have moved and grown into a top notch brewery. The building they are in is spacious clean and airy. They have a porch (old loading docks) that run the length of the building with tables an seats. outside there are two dartboards for fun. Inside they have games from pinball to skee ball most are free. The beer they brew has come a long way. They began with only couple of beers and have increased their variety and number. Two of my favorites are the Irish stout and Cahaba blonde. These are not over the top beers that are not too hoppy but full of malt flavour. Every now and then they have a special batch like an imerial porter, which so far I have enjoyed. They sometimes have bands playing but that's not always a good thing. The place can get exceedingly loud when busy. A good time to hang out on the front porch. Food is provided on certain days with food trucks. Check with Cahaba on schedules.
google avatar

Larissa B.

Yelp
There is a mini bar on the backside that serves wine and a smaller selection of Cahaba craft brews. Head there immediately if there's a line. Get your warm up brew then wait in line to try something else. Cahaba Brewing was the first social we attended during a conference in Birmingham. We hopped on a conference bus from the Sheraton Birmingham to Cahaba. We had food trucks! Not sure if that's a regular occurrence, but it was a huge perk for us. Full disclosure. I was so full from dinner I was only able to enjoy one beer. Sad right! In hindsight, what I should have done, order a flight. Then you get to sample a little bit of a everything. Versus one tasty thing. So my review is more about the total experience, not just what was on tap. We grabbed our drink of choice and headed to the gaming area. We saw board games, rock em sock em robots, giant jenga, jumbo connect 4, and skee ball! Our first choice was connect 4 but we couldn't locate the discs. So we quickly moved on to Skee Ball. It doesn't keep score, but you can! We did. I Ummmm they have classic pinball! So bring your small bills or quarters. A great spot to grab a drink and catch up with friends.

Yelp
While the atmosphere and location are awesome, the beer varieties at Cahaba are lacking in my book. If you want something light (for the summer) try their Kiwi Kolsh. It is pretty outstanding! Everyone rants and rages about their blonde, but it's not my favorite. It's a little too watery for my taste. A lot of people also like their okauba (I most likely botched the spelling) which has a high ABV. I do love how Cahaba has taken residence in an old factory. It's got that perfect balance of new and restored industrial swag. They have several locations for you to either sit with friends, play a few games standing up like pin ball and ski ball or a casual setting picnic style outside. I also noticed that they have a large area people can use for events such as weddings, etc. Cahaba is making it big here in Birmingham! If they continue to bring out more varieties of beer, I'm sure to find more I like where I'd come more for the beer rather than atmosphere and friends.

Yelp
I actually don't drink so this review is solely for their facilities, employees, and events. The facilities are great with a range of things to do even if you don't drink. Shuffleboard, skee ball, giant jenga, whatever it is you want to do, they have it and it's free! The employees are always very nice to me. It's always a fun time when bartenders laugh along and joke that they can't serve me anymore as I run up my tab of sprites. We've planned a couple events here and they are super easy to work with. They reserve how ever many tables we need and also provide us extra tables for food we catered as needed. Lovely place to chill at! Easy to work with!

Yelp
What a cool place! We had a "canoe flight" it was a blast. The beers were very good and the indoor/outdoor seating was very nice. Lots of dogs hanging around including ours. As soon as we walked up to the counter the sweet lady handed us a hand full of dog treats! Such a thoughtful addition. We are sad we were in a little bit of a hurry to head out. Would def recommend.

Tracie P.

Yelp
Cahaba is one of the larger breweries in Birmingham. They have an extremely large space with both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area often hosts festivals and vendors (there was a craft fair with food trucks when we were there on a Saturday). While it can get quite crowded, there's still enough space to distance. They do small pours as options, so you can sample a few beers on a single visit. The beers I enjoyed most were the stout and the Doodah Days gose (the latter benefits a local animal rescue). We had a great time here and will make a return on our next visit to Birmingham!

Yelp
This is one of the slickest looking breweries I've ever been to. I love Avondale's outdoor area but its not that "cool" looking. Good People is cool looking but lacking a sweet outdoor area. The fix? Cahaba Brewing! Its large inside, modern and cool and and has a large area to sit and drink and talk. It's like the best of both worlds! Im looking forward to the next visit!

Yelp
Very well-maintained pinball machines. The Cinematic sour tasted just like creature comfort's " Paradiso" and the Porter was kind of mediocre. A really really big place with very very few people inside - maybe it's really fun on other nights. Bartender was very polite but not friendly. I get that not everybody has to be friendly every single night that they work, but as a visitor it was a little disappointing.

Yelp
Some good beers, however the staff has a lot to be desired. They all need an education in customer service; going back to Birmingham District Brewing Co. Guess when you get this big you care less about the clientele.

Yelp
I prefer non IPA's so I like their blonde. This time I got the Octoberfest and it was good too! If you know how to find them you are in for a treat because they have a fun atmosphere. But, the location is a bit hard to find. They have ski ball and other games for entertainment too. A great addition to Avondale!

Yelp
We were in town for the weekend from Atlanta checking out the craft beer scene in Birmingham. We had a blast at many of the breweries, the beer-tenders were really helpful. A lot of the customers at the local breweries told us to make sure we hit Cahaba. It's a fun brewery. So we put it on the list. Went to Avondale that afternoon then Cahaba. The brewery is really nice, great space for entertaining. Lots of TOYs and a very clean restrooms. I don't have anything bad to say about the establishment. I just had a really bad experience with the only beer-tender I came in contact with. I didn't get her name, she was shorter in height than the other workers, maybe somewhat older. She was just really not nice to me when I ordered. I asked about the Cinema Sour. Hey, how is that Cinema Sour? Well do you like Sours? Yes!!! "well it's SOUR".. That's all I got, just really dry like do you want it or not? She just seemed like she didn't like her job or didn't want to work that day or just really didn't want to talk to me about the products. I don't know. It was just not a good bar experience at all. I heard one of the other beer-tenders having great conversation with their customer, explaining the beers on tap and helping with the decisions. I just felt so shorted with this worker's customer service. We ended up having the Pale ale and that sour, then leaving. She just left me feeling so unwanted in the establishment. We ended up going back to Ghost Train.

Yelp
We were looking for a brewery with a food truck for dinner with some out of town friends. Cahaba Brewing did not disappoint. The place was hopping and we got GREAT food from The Current food truck. I loved that we ordered from our phone, then they texted us when it was ready. The nachos were wonderful...the chips were really light and the tacos were yummy!! We also got some other stuff - wings and onion rings....all really good. The night we were there, they were setting up for a BBQ fundraiser for the next day. We came back for the fundraiser...and glad we did. Our friends were still talking about The Current food truck on Sunday!!
