We were recommended here by my sister in law who had eaten here the previous week and has a friend who is local who initially recommended it. On a Thursday at around 3pm, I ordered the special of pan fried hake with parsley chili lemon butter with mash and vegetables at €19.95 and a glass of pinot grigio €6.95. My husband ordered the special of Camos homemade Cambodian Amok chicken curry chips and rice at €17.50 and a jug of Miwadi to share. We ordered a Ham and cheese toastie €6.50 and chips to share between the kids. Little did we know a 40 minute wait ensued from when we ordered 2 specials and a toastie. After 35 minutes, I asked was there any sign of our food and was informed that there was only one chef working today and apologies were made and enquiries to the kitchen occurred. 5 minutes later our food arrived again noting the delay. Whilst we are on holidays and luxuriating at a slower pace of life, this wait was unacceptable with two kids under the age of 5 post beach and ravenous. Wait aside, the food was very good and very decent portions. We also appreciated the waitress giving our kids a biscuit each after the meal though. Full of locals but be aware you may have a wait.

Whenever you're in the surrounding of Cahersiveen, it's worth your while to pay a visit at Camo's. Named after the grandfather of the current chef Rory McCarthy, this lovely bistro/café is run by very friendly people. Due to the absence of a cook we couldn't enjoy the fried fish of the day, but the wraps, sandwiches and Bombay chicken salad were very tasty and fresh. We enjoyed our lunch and can recommend a stop at this place. Even if you just want a simple cup of tea or a full Irish breakfast, the staff will go all the way to help the customers out. The homemade relishes (especially the mixed pepper and onion) and the dressings are yummy and you can buy them at the till.

OMG food is absolutely beautiful! Dined here Sunday the 6th and only found it by using Google reviews so knew straight away we were in for a treat. Chicken wings are beautiful and crispy, soup was beautiful and the brown bread was absolutely delicious, Had the Fish and Chips which was beautiful also. Two beautiful ladies served us who were so nice and welcoming. Looking forward to visiting here again some time in the future.

Camo is a small café & restaurant that we had breakfast in yesterday. The "Liberator breakfast" was the best Irish breakfast I have ever had & I've had many being Irish !! Plus it includes your tea or coffee !! No hidden extras here. Wonderful staff service too - no wonder they have won so many awards. This is a little gem in Cahersiveen on the main street opposite the Catholic church. Superb !!

Stopped in here on our drive around the Ring of Kerry. My wife and I both had the fish & chips. We were both very happy as the fish had a great tasting batter, homemade tarter sauce, and great chips. The staff was very friendly and attentive and even answered some of my questions about spots along the drive. Would definitely recommend if you're in this area looking for a meal.

The grandma's recipe fried chicken is so amazing! Add to that friendly and fast customer service. Could not fault this place.

Fish and chips are best in area, just melting in a mouth. Service is very lively and nice, big respect for employees.

Google
Fab food!! Lovely fresh fish dishes such as Hake, haddock or pan-fried Cod. Try the “South Kerry fried chicken” if you’re not a fish lover. Curries, stews, steaks… it’s all good. Delish!

Yelp
Stopped here in the off season and had an amazing steak sandwich and some of the best fried chicken (very different than in America - closer to chicken strips and very moist) that had an amazing sweet chili sauce (reminiscent of a sweet and sour sauce, but tastier). Highly recommended!

Yelp
Window view of old church with modern decor. Friendly waiters & many regulars. Hubby was very impressed w his breakfast tasty with lots of meat. I looved my sweet chili cheesy chicken pineapple wrap. Kudos to the chef!

Yelp
Excellent fish and chips. Best fish I have had so far in Ireland and I have been east lot of fish and chips - well at least the fish part! So good. Great atmosphere too.

Yelp
Quick and friendly service, delicious and fresh food! What a little gem! We had the soup of the day, the roast chicken sandwich (the relish is amazing!), and the fish and chips (fish was perfect!). All were wonderful and the staff was very nice. Prices were very reasonable as well.

Yelp
The food was great, the atmosphere was nice and the people were very friendly. The chef brought us out a new dish that he was working on and it was incredible. In the event that we get to make it back to Ireland I would love to visit again!

Yelp
I'm a traveler in Ireland and appreciated the staff letting me hook up my laptop and connect to their free wifi. The wait staff is fast and friendly and won't hesitate to change orders on the fly or work with your taste to find something you'll love. The portion sizes are huge here, more than enough to stuff a hungry traveler like myself. I had bangers and mash, which came with three large sausages and a large pedestal of mashed potatoes, surrounded by a moat of sweet and warm gravy that had marinated for quite some time in fresh herbs. I asked my waitress where the ingredients were from and she told me they are all locally sourced-- my sausages were from the butcher just down the street and specially made for the restaurant. My friend got the roasted vegetable Mediterranean panini with a side of fries and salad with house dressing, which is actually the best dressing I've ever had. It tastes like a kicked up honey mustard and vinegar, way better than the bottled stuff. I can't speak for the panini myself since my friend gobbled it up before I got a chance to try it, but it was "$&*#%ing delicious! And the smoked cheese really brought out the richness of the roasted veggies." This is a great option for vegetarians for sure, but there are several options for vegetarians here. I hear they have some really awesome fish and chips here... Any of your typical "Irish" foods are readily available! Come here breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Rory (the head chef and owner) will warmly welcome you.

Yelp
We had a great brunch here today! They were very flexible with adaptations of our meals. The food was very fresh and absolutely delicious. Despite it being very busy our server and the other staff (Rebecca and Gearoid) were very efficient, polite, helpful, and went above and beyond to give us a great meal. Overall it was a great experience, would recommend :)

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch after climbing around the nearby castle and stone forts. We asked a meter maid on the street for a recommendation and she directed us here. I'm glad she did. The cafe is centrally located on the main street, clean and has free WiFi. The food was very good and the service was reasonably quick. Good lunch spot in Cahersiveen!

Yelp
A laid back bistro with the best soups. I was disappointed they had run out my last visit. My youngest had chicken and chips, he really recommended the chips. I had a salad. My husband ordered the full breakfast. Everyone enjoyed the visit, company, and food.

Yelp
10 days into our trip, and this is still the best meal we've had in Ireland. I know all we had are paninis and soup...but this carrot/ginger soup was incredible. My boyfriend and I literally couldn't stop eating it...despite being full... If I could swim in it...I would. And both paninis were incredible...he can Cajun chicken with peppers, I had some sort of ham/brie/cranberry type. Both perfectly made, and really tasted gourmet. The name on the card says "Chef Rory McCarthy", so thank you Chef! Oh, and the location is great after the ridiculously exhausting Ring of Kerry (we went clockwise)...with a very cozy atmosphere and friendly staff.

Yelp
Camo's, another great eating house in Cahersiveen. I had the Salmon, which was nice. It wasn't as tasty as the wild salmon that QCs serve, but it was way way cheaper and there was more of it. It came with bacon and green beans in a parsley cream sauce. My partner had a Cambodian fish type curry and thought it was very nice too. We shared a Lemon Meringue, which was nice also. Decor is excellent and toilets immaculate - always a good sign in a restaurant. The window seats are great for people watching. Although watching cars ignore the pedestrian crossing had my heart in my mouth a few times! Highly recommended, Camo's.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch. We got the sandwich/soup combo (7 euros). You can choose 3 fillings for sandwich. Soup of the day was tomato basil. Toasted sandwich and super hot soup in a big bowl were both tasty and filling.

Yelp
Just had a lovely dinner here. The staff was friendly and the food was good. The toilets are clean. It is small cosy place along the ring of Kerry. Worth a stop.

Yelp
Nice quirky, clean little place, very taste menu! Staff are pleasant. Currently doing an evening dinner menu as well. Prices are very reasonable. On the main street beside some crafty shops with some lively bits!

Yelp
Great restaurant, the atmosphere is really pleasant, the food was really tasty. Fresh catch of the day was worth the price which was cheap. Their hot chocolate was pretty good too. Overall the experience and the great and would recommend to everyone looking for a great place to eat.

Yelp
My daughter and I went in for lunch. I had a spicy thai chicken salad that was amazing. Very spicy. I could have the sauce on almost anything. (I used my daughters chips to sop up some of the sauce.) I was disappointed the children's chicken and chips was formed chicken nuggets, not real. But, the staff very polite and welcoming.
