3 Best Day Trips from Savannah

"Cahill's menu changes depending on what’s in season and stays within the general universe of Southern meat-and-three and diner grub, with some creative twists. Breakfast and brunch bring options like spicy chicken and waffles, fried pork chop on a biscuit, hash and eggs, and country Benedict; there’s also a long menu of sandwiches and wraps, plus lighter options like blackened grouper salad and fish tacos. Don’t want to sleep on the sides, either; they include stewed cabbage, okra and tomatoes, and pickled beets." - Sam Worley

Real Southern fare! What’s NOT to like! All the classics on the menu. A very country setting. The food was absolutely delicious complemented with very friendly service. Cahill’s Market sells wonderful farm to table foods & condiments. A family tradition that is still true today.

Food was delicious and atmosphere was perfect for a farm to table restaurant! I loved watching the butterflies and birds out of the nearly floor to ceiling windows. They have a shop with fresh produce, dairyand other items for sell. Found the pickles I usually get back home in NC. We Walked around the grounds after lunch and were able to see the chickens as well as beautiful peacocks. Definitely would come back here! Portions were large so we split at a small upcharge and it was plenty of food.

We saw this place driving into Bluffton and had to stop and give it a try! So glad we did! Food was outstanding! Portion sizes were huge! I ordered catfish with 3 sides and my wife ordered the chicken and apple salad. Everything we had was great! Looking forward towards our next visit! Highly recommended!

My husband I are staying in Bluffton on our visit to visit Hilton Head Island and Savannah. We had dinner at Cahill's and it was excellent. We had the fried chicken and vegetables plate. The corn, green beans, and black eyed peas were fresh from the garden! The weather was nice, so we sat on the porch which was the perfect atmosphere for the meal. Out server was outstanding and took great care of us. We plan to go back for breakfast before our trip is over.

Google
This a great little gem just minutes from Savannah. The market has local and unique products. Loved the selection. The wait time can be long this place is very popular. The food was absolutely amazing! The eggs benedict had a light flavorful perfect hollandaise sauce. All of the sides were packed with flavor and you tell they were fresh. The fried chicken is slap yo momma good! 1000/10 would recommend!!!

Google

Yelp
Second time was a charm. I was there for lunch with a large group of friends. We arrived around 11:30 which was in between the standard breakfast and lunch menus. This time our server was excellent. He took our orders, made sure our beverage glasses were full and was able to provide separate checks. I ordered the Chicken Cheesesteak sandwich which came out with grilled strips of chicken along with grilled peppers and onions and covered with cheese on a hoagie roll which was smaller than the food it was containing. A large heaping of cole slaw on the side which was excellent. When leaving we noticed they now have a new bar area which looked great. Not very large, but very quaint. A very large heavy slab of finished wood which was customized for their bar. It's worth checking out.

Yelp
Cahill's Market in Bluffton is an absolute gem. We walked in on a Sunday morning and were immediately seated for breakfast, with genuine Southern hospitality from the start. The service was excellent. Our server was attentive and welcoming, and Marshall (I stopped him to ask his name) one of the young men serving as well, stood out the entire time. He moved efficiently with a constant smile, making sure Cahill guests were taken care of. That kind of energy makes a difference. I started with a glass of orange juice that was incredibly refreshing and delicious. For breakfast, I ordered the chicken and waffles, and wow. The buttermilk chicken breast was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and seasoned just right for breakfast. The waffle was golden and delicious, but the real showstopper? The cheese grits. Absolutely divine, creamy, flavorful, and unforgettable. After breakfast, we walked through the market and headed out back to admire the produce growing right on the property, that's what Cahill's is all about, fresh, local, and thoughtfully done. This place is truly a Bluffton gem, and we'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Cute country breakfast place. Staff super friendly. Easy parking. The biscuits and jam are delicious. Not sure why, but they do not make omelets!! Grits were good but the portion was small. Coffee was good. They serve chicken and biscuits And waffles.

Yelp
It's farm fresh, to table. The quality, quantity, and service can't be beat. This is my go to place, every time I visit Bluffton. They never miss! My favorite is the big road meal. $12.99. Chicken fried steak, over a biscuit, smothered in sausage gravy. I substitute potatoes for grits. It's the BEST breakfast in SC. They have some GREAT to go specials. My suggestion is the Dozen Chicken Tenders, with 2 Large sides, for $30,99. Wish we had Cahill's in Vegas. Enjoy!!!
google avatar

Joan M.

Yelp
I was craving good old fashioned fried chicken and man did this place hit the mark and satisfy! Outstanding food and service. We even got fresh eggs an our Christmas tree for only 45 bucks!!!!!

Yelp
10/14/25 - 5:50pm - party of 2 Two vegetarians heading home from HHI and craving burgers. Yelp pointed us to Cahill's Market, on scenic route along the backside of Bluffton. We sat on the patio surrounded by vines, plants and trees. Lucas was our server and he was charming, energetic and very helpful. We chose the Spicy Black Bean burgers and icy cold Heart & Arrow Hazy IPA's. The black bean burgers will well seasoned and served with provolone cheese and generous slices of tomatoes, thick sweet onions, half an avocado and lettuce. Large pickle spear, fries and some very delicious and very spicy chunky salsa were included. The burgers are huge and so darn good! The meal really hit the spot! Looking forward to returning for another burger soon.

Yelp
We were recommended Cahill by a local family and we're not disappointed. We waited about an hour for our table and they did not seem to be a good area to do so. The food took a while to get, but once we got the food, it was all over! For a family restaurant that freshly prepares much of its food, this place was next level. We all loved everything we tried.
google avatar

Julia M.

Yelp
This is the first time we have made it to Cahill's for lunch. We arrived at around 1 or 1:15 on Saturday and were seated immediately with no wait. (Previously when we tried to come it was at least an hour or more wait.) Of course, I wanted to try the famous fried chicken with homemade sides and it did not disappoint! I opted for mac & cheese, butter beans and creamed corn. And it came with a cornbread muffin, which was a little on the sweet side, which I personally like. (I know this is controversial because a lot of people hate sweet cornbread. I came from a family where one side did sweet and the other side did not, so I like both.) In any case, everything tasted just like my Grandmother's cooking!! Everything was super delicious, seasoned and prepared perfectly! My daughter was in the mood for a vegetarian option, so she got the black bean burger with fries. I didn't try hers but it looked good! We didn't save room for dessert, but I would have liked to try the banana pudding, as I am sure they do that right too. The portion sizes were big enough that we each got 2 meals out of our orders. Service was great and we were thrilled with our food. Definitely will be going back! Loved looking around the little market too after lunch and we got 3 bags of boiled peanuts to take home for later. The peanuts were a little on the small side, but again, they were perfectly seasoned & cooked, just like my grandparents used to make. If you love authentic Southern home-style cooking, you will love Cahill's.

Renee W.

Yelp
I want to give this Southern Gem 5 stars, but we waited over an hour to get seated. They don't take reservations and don't tell you how long the wait will be. Be prepared to wait. The food is exceptional and our wait staff was kind, friendly and nice as can be. Order the sweet corn, as it is amazing. The mashed potatoes, fried chicken, chicken and waffles all terrific!

Yelp
I have been here a handful of times now and absolutely love it. After parking, you enter a little store before you go into the dining room. The store has lots of goods from local areas, as well as other areas in the Lowcountry. Our group of six was immediately sat on a busy Saturday morning. The environment is casual, and the food is delicious! One of the favorites from our group is the grits! Everyone raved about it. The fish and grits especially was a delicious meal. Several people in our group had waffles and loved them as well. This is a must stop if you are in the old town Bluffton area.

Wendee M.

Yelp
The best! Fresh vegetables, eggs. And meat. Love the service. Love the Market and the premade sauces/soup!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday at noon and it was packed! For good reason; it's a funky, cool no frills old barn with lots of tables scattered about, exposed ceiling beams and ducting, some colorful kitschy decor and huge portions of all the Southern classics. Outside it's a working farm with chickens and crops planted in neat rows -- Definitely nothing fancy. The fried chicken is the main attraction here and the Chicken Wagon my wife ordered looks like good bet, since it comes with two pieces of bird and three sides! Although my bro said his fried grouper sando was likewise dynamite. Service was outstanding and the food was delish, and walking around outside was super cool. There's a market selling food and pantry items inside as well. Cool slice of local life -- though there were definitely tourists here too ( like me).

Fred M.

Yelp
Literally , everything is awesome. Staff is super polite. The portions are more then enough. Good down home atmosphere
google avatar

Laurie P.

Yelp
Great down home restaurant, with friendly staff and good tasting food! Loved the decor, the gardens complete with chickens

E P.

Yelp
Excellent food and service--excited to return! This is the food I live for. A real fried baloney sandwich, on great white bread with mustard, mayo, ketchup and American cheese. Heaven.
google avatar

Terry A.

Yelp
This is a must when in Hilton Head or Blufton. Quant county farm to table restaurant with fresh quality home cooked style meals. The portions are plenty and everything is prepared well. Great friendly service. Little shopping area in the front with fresh bread and produce.
google avatar

Gina B.

Yelp
Always enjoy this true farm to table restaurant. Atmosphere, service and menu is always great. Have been enjoying this restaurant for over 10 years and experienced their upgrades and constant growth. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
The first time I visited was about two years ago and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. It hasn't changed in quality since. We waited about 15 mins for our table on a Wednesday during lunch. We walked around and looked the chickens and peacock! Being from out of town, I don't have things like fresh fried chicken and fried okra! My mom got the hot honey chicken sandwich which was really good but wasn't spicy enough, good thing they provide hot sauce on the side. The fried okra is my FAVORITE food on the planet, this is the single appetizer and three big eaters almost fill up on this before the entrees come out. It's huge so beware! It is so crispy and not oily and just perfect. My dad got the fried shrimp platter with sweet potato soufflé, Mac and cheese, and black bean salad. Overall everything rocked and I would recommend Cahill's to anyone, such a fun and tasty place.
google avatar

Jan S.

Yelp
Make a stop here! Their fried chicken is amazing. We got collard greens, grits and Mac n cheese with it and everything was delicious. Also got a BLT with crinkly fries as a side and it was also good although the tomatoes were cut a little bit too thick for my liking. Prices seemed fair. There is a parking lot. They also sell fresh veg/fruit inside that looked delicious! Get a T-shirt or a hat while you are there.

William M.

Yelp
Friendly, prompt service. Delicious Southern home cooking. Fresh ingredients, some grown on property. You enter through a market that is a throwback to the 1950's or 60's with fresh produce and other canned goods, jams, jellies, pickles, organic milk, etc. Very casual dining room is attached on one side and an outdoor patio is also available for dining. Consistently good every time we've visited. What more can you ask?

Patrick P.

Yelp
Outstanding Sunday brunch. Had an excellent time: delicious breakfast and excellent service.

Beth M.

Yelp
SO glad I tried this place. Went with my mom and siblings for lunch and it's a definite keeper. Sat outside at picnic tables with such great service. The food was really good and the cocktails were perfect. Highly recommended and will be back soon...

Yelp
Absolute must if you are in the bluffton/hilton head area and want some good southern, farm fresh food! Its a super casual place that is very welcoming with awesome food. The serving sizes are generous and you literally cannot have a bad meal here. Highly recommend getting the fried chicken plate if its your first time to really experience that perfectly crispy and juicy, hot fried chicken - choice of dark or white meat. The mac and cheese is incredible and the broccoli casserole was excellent. Not to mention that sweet tea! Oh, and those cornbread muffins with honey butter. They have chickens on the farm and grow a lot fresh ingredients there. There is a cute little market shop inside as well. Great customer service. Was too excited to dig in so I didnt get any pictures..but take my word for it, and go check it out! Hint, if you go towards the end of the day at closing, they are extremely generous with the serving sizes ha! Go now.
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Servers were great too. We had fried chicken platters with these sides... green beans, black eyed peas, tomato/cucumber salad, broccoli casserole & sweet potato casserole. Everything was awesome!! Definitely going back!
google avatar

Alison L.

Yelp
We had breakfast there for the first time last week. I've lived here my entire life and never tried Cahill's! So glad we did. Portions were huge! Food was so fresh. Even our 7 year old who is super picky was so impressed he ate all of his chicken and waffles! My friend had the Bloody Mary. She said it was the best one she's ever had! The server was very friendly and sociable. She had a great personality. The restaurant is nicely decorated inside and out. Lots of interesting things to look at! Can't wait to go back for dinner.
google avatar

Bill J.

Yelp
This is a farm to table restaurant. Everything is sourced locally, and it's all fresh. The menu is printed on one sheet of paper back to back with lots of options listed in small print. Our server was friendly and efficient. I chose the fried chicken dinner that comes with three sides. It was a lot to eat, so come here with a big appetite! My wife and her sister both ordered the Chicken and waffles. We all enjoyed our meals, and there was plenty leftover, so we each took a doggie bag home. Before you leave, take a look at all the items offered in the store, and the flowers outside.

Vivian R.

Yelp
absolutely loved, the juice is soooo good, i love how different and organic the environment is, the food is really fresh and delicious, i recommend!
google avatar

Melissa F.

Yelp
Loved the market and the restaurant! Very relaxing atmosphere, service was fast and food was good! Husband said the gravy was a little salty. Was not thrilled that coffee was $4.50 and a small orange juice was $3.50.
google avatar

Frank F.

Yelp
Good experience as always. The chicken a little small but still very good. You get a lot of salad on the veggie plate wife order/Cabbage Stir fried. Don't need to be long winded but if you have not tried the place you should.
google avatar

Edward A.

Yelp
On point as usual. We have made breakfast here an annual event. No frills, just down home friendly service and farm to table food - with the farm on the premises. They also have a little store that sells jellies, sauces, along with produce and some refrigerated items as well. We've seen many of the breakfast dishes and it's all just really good. I think this is a hidden gem that people forget or sometimes overlook. There have been times we have arrived and there can be a wait so IYKYK.
google avatar

Lindsay B.

Yelp
Best chicken in the area. I have only been once but I may update my review down the road after trying some more of their menu. The restaurant is at a farm and there is a farm store in the same building as the restaurant. The vibe is casual, peaceful, quaint and inviting. I kept it simple today with a grilled chicken sandwich which they topped with thick cut perfectly crunchy bacon which was a good quality bacon with nice flavor. It was served on a nice toasted brioche bun, with crunchy lettuce, a generous amount of pickles, a nice thick cut tomato and ranch. I got the cucumber and tomato salad as a side instead of fries. It was so good I ate the whole thing. My husband did the fried chicken sandwich and fries. The fried chicken has a beautiful crunch and was seasoned very nicely with the same toppings. The fries were awesome as well. Our server was attentive and personable and we saw 3 butterflies floating around their zinnias as we ate on the patio. You could faintly hear the chickens in the background which added to the peaceful energy there. Look forward to returning.

Yelp
If you are visiting palmetto bluff you have to come here! Great family southern experience. We came for breakfast and it was delicious. Fried okra was our families favorite.

Meredith J.

Yelp
Cahill's market is amazing. The chicken is incredible, especially the breakfast menu. Must go place if you are visiting the Hilton head area.
google avatar

Sarah-Grace H.

Yelp
MY FAVORITE LOW COUNTRY BREAKFAST. Does not get fresher! ON THE FARM. Pretty good with allergies, the menu is SO HUGE and service is always great. When i travel away from home I get homesick for this meal.
google avatar

Phil T.

Yelp
Some of the best Breakfast Food I've had in a long time. Plenty of fresh options to choose from. The atmosphere was like eating a grandma's house. The staff were very nice and helpful. The country store attached to the restaurant was very nice and had a nice selection of items to purchase. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
google avatar

Dom R.

Yelp
While Ive only done take out twice and haven't gotten the chance to sit in I will say the food is pretty good. My mother in law and son go here all the time for brunch. My son always says it is his top breakfast spot. The employees are very friendly. They sell the best tasting strawberries I have ever had.

Dawn W.

Yelp
No wait surprisingly just after noon. Quick service with waitstaff and cook steady flow of customers too. Food was great. A must try in town.

Allison B.

Yelp
Amazing food- everything was delicious! We went for a late lunch and were seated right away. Our server was very helpful and friendly. I will definitely be back again.

Jan M.

Yelp
We were in bluffton for a family wedding. We went to Cahill's for breakfast on the 1st morning and decided to go there every morning. The food was fresh and fabulous! Farm fresh eggs done perfectly, bacon that was also perfect. The service was so friendly it truly made our breakfasts a highlight of our trip I'd go back any time
google avatar

Doug V.

Yelp
Cahill's Market is one of our regular places to eat breakfast or lunch. The breakfast menu is extensive. The lunch menu is not quite as long but the choice are good. I had the hot honey fried chicken sandwich. It was delicious. My partner had the fried chicken sandwich. So big she took half home. Service was attentive and good.
google avatar

Derrick T.

Yelp
Good service and good food. Loved the country cooking with a nice vibe. Go check it out.
google avatar

Terry R.

Yelp
Yummy down home food! Chicken fingers are exceptional. Sides are plentiful with lots of variety.
google avatar

Meg C.

Yelp
It's a bit dark inside both the restaurant and the store but the service and food made up for it! The breakfast burrito was amazing. So much flavor and you could tell it had fresh ingredients. I loved the whole area with fields and chickens just down the hill. Our waiter was wonderful and attentive despite being slammed! Easy parking all around the lot. I highly recommend coming here if only for their jams and store!
google avatar

Griffin B.

Yelp
Cute spot off the side of the road, outstanding vibe and ambiance, old school feel. Beautiful aromatic flowerbeds, classic old timey tableclothes. We had a cheeseburger and some friend chicken with a wide selection of sides. Service was fast and friendly, a MUST GO. GO NOW! Bring your grandma, and your uncles too.
google avatar

Molly G.

Yelp
Fresh food, amazing hospitality, a true southern gem! This is a perfect spot to grab a "meat and three" all their vegetable sides are fresh from the garden & you can TASTE IT! Their market is so fun to walk around in before or after you eat to grab some farm free groceries! Everyone makes you feel like family, it's truly a gem of the south!

Pr R.

Yelp
Terrible service. I have never walked out of a restaurant before so this was the first time in my 55 years of going to restaurants. Table was right in front by hostess where people walked in and out right past us. One man's hand touched my water glass as he walked by. We asked to be moved and were told there was a waitlist. There were 2 tables of two open and the hostess not 5 mins later sat another couple in one of the open tables. She looked at me and said nothing. The other table remained open so we left as it was obvious that they were not going to be customer focused and honor our request. Sadly, if this disappointing service is any indication of the quality of food, it's a good thing we quickly realized how little staff cares for the comfort and satisfaction of customers. Highly suggest that management provide remedial training to staff on how to treat customers in a professional, courteous manner.
google avatar

Yelp
Great find in Bluffton! While visiting Savannah, we wanted to spend a partial day in nearby Hilton Head. This place got great reviews and it's easy to see why. Great food and great service! They seem to be known for their chicken and waffles so I ordered that and hubby got chicken with biscuits and gravy. I've had chicken and waffles from a lot of places and this definitely ranks in the top. The chicken was excellent! They have the chicken coops on property And everything tastes local and fresh. We also didn't have Bluffton on our radar before this stop and got some great recommendations from the server. This is a very cute town we hope to explore more the next time we are in the area.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. If you have not tried Cahill's, do yourself a favor and head over for lunch.
