Out of the 3 wineries we visited today, Cairdeas was our favorite! The service and ambiance was very down to earth, our server was extremely friendly, and best of all, the wines were delicious. We made a reservation online to sit outside, but there were still plenty of tables available since it's March, and the transparent canopy walls allowed us to enjoy the view but stay cozy with the heaters.
The winery is about 13 years old, Cairdeas is gaelic for friendship, goodwill, and alliance. The $15 tasting we shared included a syrah, counoise, caislean an papa, consonance, and port-style petite sirah since they were out of whites. While the syrah was my favorite, I was extremely surprised by the dessert wine since it only had 3% sugar and the syrupy, chocolate-y finish was tasty without being overwhelmingly sweet. Bottles ranged from mid $40-$75, with the tasting fee waived with a 2 bottle purchased. 5% off 6 bottles and 10% off 12+ bottles, but they also ship for free if you purchase 6+ bottles! There's also snacks and merchandise for purchase, either as packs or ala carte, so we got some crackers and salame. Fun, no-frills spot, definitely recommend!
