Restaurante Cais da Villa

We had lunch here today and chose the Executive Menu, which is the specials they offer for lunch. You have 4-5 starters you can choose from and then 4 main dish choices. Also one drink, which can be a glass of wine and then coffee at the end. The food was very nicely presented, but it could have used a few more spices. That seems to be a common theme throughout Portugal. The service and atmosphere made up for that minor hiccup. Definitely worth a visit for lunch or dinner.

We had an outstanding meal here at an unbeatable price; they have a special tapas menu where you get portion sizes that will honestly fill up the hungriest eater. Started with a lovely port cocktail and had 4 courses of tapas including the famous franeszhina. Service was outstanding and lovely. Highly recommended!

The executive lunch (which seems to be seasonal) was phenomenal, and impossible to beat at just €20/person. If you’re driving from Porto to the Douro Valley, this is a perfect spot to stop for lunch! The easy parking was a nice surprise.

We were lucky enough to be around when the low cost menu was available to have such a delightful experience. There's an offer of 15€ menu that includes starter, main dish, dessert and drink, which is only available during the first week of every month. There were a few options for every type of a meal and a main dish could have meat, fish or be vegetarian. First of all, I would like to point out perfect service, staff is friendly, but calm, quiet and attentive at the same time. The presentation of dishes was pleasing to the eye especially for someone who's more used to simple traditional portuguese dishes. All of the meals were delicious and rather light than filling and although the dishes looked traditional, all had an interesting twist to them. The atmosphere inside is also a big plus, spacious and elegantly decorated, but still simple design. The only downside for me was a slightly uncomfortable proximity to other visitors while dining.

Tasty food, although some dishes miss a crunchy or an acidic element. The staff did not know what they were serving and laughed when asked about it. Very disappointed coming from such a restaurant.

Very pleased with the service, ambiance is also nice. Taste vise I found the duck rice to be too oily for my liking.

It's difficult to describe the emotions after visiting this restaurant... It's truly a high-end dining experience, where you get pleasure from both admiring and tasting the dishes. To say that it was simply delicious or beautifully presented would not do it justice. It's like discovering new sensations and flavors that you never knew existed before.
