When I heard that the Brasa/Alma folks were opening a fried chicken spot, I knew I had to get over there and give it a try. We got a couple of tenders and bones in chicken. Both chicken options were awesome. The chicken was tender and moist, the coating was light and seasoned perfectly. I've been trying a lot of "hot" chicken options around town lately and Caja chicken, by far was the most satisfying. It didn't overwhelm with thick batter, grease, or that salt-bomb sensation, and sans bright red artificial coloring that other places seem to have.
After we were done with our original order, we had to go get a few more tenders because they were so good! Is it possible to have a light feeling after eating fried chicken?! Yes, yes it is!
It is also great that the restaurant is very intentional about where and from whom they source their meat/ ingredients and are allergy-friendly!!!!
I didn't know how parking would go, but I easily snagged a street spot right outside of Graze on a Saturday at noon. Graze is cool too, I will keep it in mind for the summer. I liked how they had the self-serve water stations and the free pac man arcade game 🤪
