Cajun Crawfish #1

Ordered the promo for a lunch date with a friend (Buy 5lbs Get One Free) for around $30 which isn’t too shabby considering the prices at most places. My Spicy Garlic Butter Crawfish & all the fixings came out a lot quicker than expected, flavors were pretty spot on, boiled egg was a bit overcooked and the crawfish shells were a bit hard but that doesn’t bother me too much. All in all it was a nice place to check out, it’s quaint and the staff is extremely friendly, might come back to try other menu items like the rice & catfish!

We were EXTREMELY disappointed with the Gumbo & the Garlic Noodles. Absolutely horrible. The Gumbo had zero flavor & does not taste like gumbo, whatsoever. The Garlic Noodles were disgusting, they taste JUST like brown paper towels. No exaggeration. But to add insult to injury, we weren’t even offered the gesture of goodwill, a “food comp” for these items to be taken off the bill to resolve this displeasure. We were actually denied when addressing this matter to our waitress, stating, “No Refund or Exchanges” which by the way, is NO WHERE POSTED in the restaurant nor front counter. My husband & I (visiting from Michigan) took one bite each and were immediately turned off. Left both dishes on the table, virtually untouched. The boil bags HOWEVER, were EXCELLENT (the super boil was a tad over priced, for $89). But other than that, we enjoyed every bit of our boil bags. Had we been compensated for the inconveniences (or an obvious sign posted from the very beginning) I wouldn’t have had anything negative to say about this place. I wouldn’t have even mentioned the side dishes.

Came in cause of what I saw on here(Google reviews). I lived in the area as a kid and just moved back but tell me why I’ve never been to this place!!! It was so good. I had to come in for the Monday special and try it out for myself. Ooooh man the garlic butter is so good!!! The service was great, the gals there were super sweet and attentive. I wish more folks knew about this place. They hardly had folks in there while we were eating but they did have a few folks call in and place to go orders. They had a sign that they had just ran out of crawfish, but honestly I asked and their next shipment was coming in the next day but more so I came for the shrimp boil and it was amazing. We ordered a side of garlic bread and it was absolutely perfect. Oh man and the way they painted the interior is so cute.

Me and my family came here and we LOVED the crawfish!! We were a bit skeptical at first due to us having bad crawfish experiences before. But the crawfish was really good! My brother ordered a po boy and that thing was HUGE and they were NOT stingy with the toppings! We will definitely be coming back for their Tuesday special.

I have been eating here for about 8 years, and it is my go-to spot for boiled seafood. I get the 15 shrimp with corn and potato for $12. They are always huge shrimp and the seasoning is always on point. I like traditional Cajun extra spicy. The people could noy be nicer. I come here so much, they start getting my order ready as I walk in the door! We have also tried the fried shrimp as part of their daily Tuesday deal, and those were great, too. They also make a reasonably priced seafood gumbo with a nice, dark roux. They also have reasonably priced beers or canned cocktails if you'd like a drink with your seafood. It may be a hole in the wall, but it's definitely one of my all-time favorite places to be. Thank you all for the great service over the years!

This is one of my fave Asian-style crawfish places. It’s small, but it has a comforting family type vibe to it. The staff are friendly people and there’s a lot of options on the menu. You can customize your flavor and heat, as well. One of my fam’s Sunday spots to eat lunch at. Definitely recommend.

The food was excellent, our server Tam was prompt and extremely nice and friendly, she has an awesome bright smile. She was nice enough to cater our request for specific music to be played as we dined. I would encourage anyone to enjoy your favorite seafood at this location.

This is a great chill spot for viet style Cajun crawfish. They had a deal on Sunday of buy 5 pounds get 1 free. The flavor was good. We also shared mozzarella sticks, Cajun fries, and the garlic noodles which were also all great. The service was friendly and I loved the playlist they had on.

This was my first time going here. We wanted shrimp and crabs and this place was on the way. I ordered online and waited while the food was made. Quick service and the food was good. The shrimp were a good size and although you could not see any spices, it was spicy like we like it. The crab and shrimp had big pieces of garlic and were really tasty. I like the sausage but ordered 3 half pieces and should have ordered more and more potatoes.

Recommended! This place is good. We have ordered crawfish, shrimp, sausages, crawfish fried rice. The food was fresh, excellently marinated, and cooked. The crawfish size were large. The restaurant was spacious and good service. We would be back when we return to Houston.

Great experience here! First time customer; the service was excellent (and fast!), food was great, portions were generous. And we were checked on very regularly. Very laid-back family friendly atmosphere with really great selection of menu items. My family ordered the crawfish fried rice, crawfish/shrimp boil with Citrus twist, and popcorn shrimp. Did not disappoint! Will be back again.

Everything tasted great and was very flavorful! It definitely seems like the most reasonably priced seafood boil around. Great value! Like others have said, the crawfish were kind of small, but the shrimp were good size and tasted delicious. It's kind of a small place so the service was Very good! Definitely worth going to!

I really enjoyed this hole in the wall place. Not a difficult place to find either, as its in a strip mall. I ordered the Boiled Crawfish which at this time is $6.99/lb with an order minimum of two pounds. I ordered them with one piece of corn, cajun AND garlic butter seasoning with spice level Spicy. I WARN YOU NOW!!! SPICY IS VERY VERY VERY VERY SPICY!!! NO JOKE!!! They have any spice levels and I didn't expect it to be face burning. I devoured all two pounds in one sitting, but if I had been more sensitive to spice, it would've been way too hot. If you are sensitive, please don't order anything with the spice.

Food was fresh, ordered po boys for the office. Everyone enjoyed the food. Staff were friendly.

Service was great. I like coming when it's slow on weekdays cause weekends are too busy. They never miss the quality and the taste of the food. Only bad thing I can say is this is the second time I've been here and I could not get a New Orleans lemonade or other drinks because they didn't have a few simple ingredients. Go to the store already.

I was looking for a new place to try for my fried fish and came across here. Their combo options is what really got me to try here. But on my first order they did have me waiting a long time there due to a mix up. I order double catfish with a combo but you can't double on combos which I assume the person taking the order over the phone wasn't aware of. This caused the women there to not find my order and me waiting awhile. When I finally got home it was good and the wings that I added to try were also pretty solid. It hasn't replaced my go to spot for fried fish but as a close alternative they are there for my switch up days. And I had some people there recommend their cajun fried rice so I'll likely try that sometime.

Cajun fried rice here is GOOD. Don't mistake it for the crawfish fried rice. The fish and fries got the job done. The place here gives a very clean feel and the service was nice. They had hand washing stations instead of going in the restroom, which is a GAME CHANGER.

Came early in the season so I knew the crawfish would be small, but it was so flavorful! The crab was big and the food came out fast. Service was also good, I will definitely be coming back.

A friend introduced this great Cajun food place. We had the Cajun Popular Boil with medium heat, garlic butter with roasted onions. So delicious! It is amazing meal. I urge you to come and find out the awesome goodness. Bon appetite!

I only had the cajun fried rice, three orders as an add on for a party. It was the only dish not devoured. It was mehhh to me but its hard to find crawfish fried rice so..... I'd order it again if I had a craving. Service was fast and pricing is very reasonable.

You know the restaurant is the real deal when they have the most generic name possible :)) The food really speaks for itself, and this is easily one of the best spots in town for crawfish! The location is a little far from downtown, but I was totally blown away by the quality. Our party of 4 ordered 8 pounds of Cajun garlic butter crawfish along with corns, sausages and potatoes. Now I have tried a lot of crawfish places in town but I have to say this restaurant completely nailed the flavor! The crawfish was richly seasoned with the right amount of saltiness and kick (we ordered Medium spicy level). They also gave us this lime infused butter sauce that I thought compliments the seafood flavor amazingly! I have to say though that since I didn't come at peak crawfish season (middle February), the crawfish was kinda small. Let's talk prices. At 8.99 per pound, this is easily one of the cheapest spot in town for crawfish! They even have a crawfish combo at around $40 for 4 pounds of crawfish with 2 corns, 2 sausages, and 2 potatoes. What's more, for every 5 pounds you order, the next pound is free! So we basically ordered the combo with 4 extra pounds of crawfish, one of which was free (because we exceeded 5 pounds). When we came, there was only one front person with no waiters, but she was very helpful and attends to our needs very quickly! All in all, this is an awesome awesome place to come with a large group to get really quality crawfish at cheap prices!

False advertisement! Hours are completely wrong. And the open sign stays on after "closing " Worse of all we called ahead of time to verify the location had crawfish and the time the store would close just to be told to drive 30 minutes back home. Owner get your employees trained to turn the open sign off at least.

In not a fan of giving low ratings but today was definitely a two star experience and it's directly related to the food. The wings were such low quality! You can tel when a restaurant pays good money for good quality chicken and cajun crawfish is absolutely not doing that here. Their chicken wings are very low quality! Good quality chicken is really white and doesn't look like the chicken being served up here. The rice was very average. It's yellow and just alright. I couldn't imagine spending an extra four dollars for their cajun style yellow rice. Just not a fan. The real winner here was the catfish. The catfish was excellent! I could almost give them three stars for the fish because it's really good! But with the rice and wings lacking so much two stars it is! Also the food is not worth 15.00! I could have went to much better places with better quality. Maybe step up the quality of chicken and redo the rice. Fish is on point. ** the people are extremely nice though!*** great client service.

We ordered 20 lbs of cajun crawfish combo. Everything is was flavorful and juicy. I will definitely come back.

I won't be able to forgive myself if I didn't visit the origin of the vietCajun phenomenon while I'm here in Houston. The flavor and cook were fantastic. Everything in the combo was juicy. This combo feeds about 2-3people. Our server was very friendly. Just great spot. Chill and lowkey but dang good food.

This is my to go place for Cajun food. I personally love the crawfish with garlic butter three times spicy.

Hubby and I went there for late lunch on a weekday. Proprietor was friendly, other customers seemed to be really enjoying their food. We ordered the boiled shrimp medium spicy and felt it was a good value. 15 shrimp for $12.99 included a corn and a potato. If I had to be picky, the shrimp were just a tad bit overcooked but not where it would stop us from going back!

I am a die hard, loyal fan of Hank's Crawfish (Fry Rd location), and before that, the location in Bear Creek (Hwy 6 N). In the past twenty years, I've only tried two other spots, and I've always gone back to Hank's. Well I was going to Hank's this past Saturday, but all indications said the Fry Rd. location was closed, and there was no answer when I called. I wasn't really feeling the Hwy 6 location, so after reaching out on FB for some recommendation, and doing a Google search, I came across this place. It's funny bc I only focus on what comes up on the first page of my Google search and this spot was actually on the second page. AND, it was an hour away from my house, so please believe me, I had high expectations. Well Cajun Crawfish did not disappoint! My Hubby got the wings (fish sauce & lemon pepper); he loved them. I started with 2lbs of the "stir fry spicy", and the flavor was yummy, but it wasn't spicy enough for me. The green onions & regular onion slices were an okay addition, but I would've appreciated bulbed onions more (or baby onions if that's a thing). Either way, the flavor was good enough for me to take some food to go. So I grabbed the Cajun Super Boil, w/ garlic butter, 2x's extra spicy, and the heat WAS PERFECT!! I like spicy so be warned, it has one hell of a kick. The service was awesome, and be warned they don't have (free) refillable fountain sodas, but they have tea. Thanks Cajun Crawfish...y'all have officially replaced Hank's for me.

My wife and I both ordered the Cajun Crawler. Mine was a mix of both cajun and garlic butter spices with the "spicy" level of heat and I ordered an additional two pounds of crawfish. Food: The actual spice level about a medium compared to most other places. The food was cooked properly and the crawfish were mostly large and medium in size. The spices are lacking flavor and tasted more of butter than anything else which is disappointing. Maybe too much butter? We both had Iced Tea which are served in styrofoam cups with a lid. This made it awkward to open when asking for a refill since my hands were dripping with the spices and butter from the food at the time. Perhaps no lids or reusable glasses when dining in would be a better choice. When I did open the cup, I noticed that there was a small bug inside. I could not tell if it was a small roach or some type of small beetle. Hoping for the latter. The waitress gave me a new cup. Service: The service was good but there was a mistake on one of the orders that we caught after my wife had already started eating. She had only ordered the Cajun Crawler and not two additional pounds of crawfish as well. The waitress first said they would just remove it from the bill and we can keep the additional crawfish. A few minutes later she asked if she could take the plate to the back to remove the additional crawfish. We told her no we'll just pay for it then. We thought that was a bit weird but they did remove the two extra pounds when we got the check. Ambiance: The restaurant is small but looked clean. They seemed to be very busy with dine in and take out orders so that's good. Final thoughts: There are just too many other restaurants nearby that sell the same type of food to say that I would return here again after finding a bug inside my cup.

They have take-out or table service. It's not fancy, but the people are nice and the food is genuinely delicious. My favorite dish: popcorn crawfish with Cajun fries. They take ApplePay!

The crawfish was not as good as described, wasn't even cleaned properly or seasoned. Service was ok, the lady over the phone sounded lost like she didn't want to be there or forgot where she was. Ambiance was all right, not somewhere we'd come back to unless there's change in management.

The crawfish (garlic butter, regular spicy) was flavorful (and not as pricy as some other places). It tasted good even though the crawfish was frozen. The service was impressive too. Will come back to have some fresh shrimp if we happen to be around the area.

Stopped by here on the way to sugarland. It was super yummy. Great spice on the seafood and quick! Feels like a hole in the wall but the flavor is awesome and the service is fast! Would love to come back if I lived closer.

As a frequent crawfish connoisseur, I was looking for something that tickled the right taste buds. With the high ratings of this place I really had expectations of everything and more. Me and my boyfriend went on a Saturday night, they were real nice and everything. We did a pick up order of 5 lbs of crawfish, some crab legs and potatoes. The 5 lbs of crawfish was a mistake to say the least. The crawfish was gray and the shell was soft upon touch. Most disgusting thing I have ever seen in my life. The sauce could NOT even mask the dead fishy scent of the crawfish. We attempted to get a refund, in which they didn't specify a partial refund. But upon going there to get a refund they said they would only reimburse for the DEAD crawfish. Not the crab legs or potatoes. I understand from a business standpoint but at the same time, please try to encourage repeat customers. I have reached out to the manager and I have not gotten a call. If a call was missed, no voicemail was ever left. As a crawfish lover, I have eaten TONS of crawfish, NONE HAVE EVER GAVE ME THE RUNS LIKE THIS ONE. Me and my boyfriend were RUNNING to the restroom and after, the restroom stunk of dead seafood. No seafood has ever made my stomach churn like this place. Please save yourself some money, headache, and pain, literally go anywhere else.

I got the Cajun fried rice, and a bowl of gumbo. It was pretty good. It had shrimp and crawfish in it. I've read reviews prior and it said the fried rice was very very good, I thought it was just OK. If you're in the area stop by and give me a try.

Crawfish was good a bit crowded with no tables available service was fast will definitely be back and try other dishes.

We got quite a bit of crawfish (garlic butter spicy) shrimp with sausage and corn Cajun style spicy. I could go another notch up on spicy level next time. I prefer the butter garlic. As this was ranked #1 crawfish place I was excited to try. We are South Houston area originally and our go to crawfish spot was Cajun Craven on Beamer. I do prefer there spicy butter garlic sauce that crawfish is in but this is next best for north-side.

The crawfish with the sautéed onions is delicious. Lots of garlic too. Will be back. Especially with the buy 5 lbs get 1 lb free promotion.

Came back to a good spot, they mist be doing well because they updated the inside. Now its cute with crawfish walls haha. Good as I remember, although the medium heat didnt seem the same. And service started out attentive. But then she was paying more attention to her phone then her table near the end..

If you are looking for good seafood in Houston this is it. Perfectly cooked with a good selection of spices and at an affordable price. The customer service was great.

The.Best.Crawfish.I.Have.Ever.Had!!! Hands down! We arrived pretty soon after they opened and the phone was already ringing constantly for takeout orders. We ordered the Cajun Favorite Combo & 1 snow crab cluster all in spicy garlic butter. My mouth is watering as I'm typing the last sentence :) The shrimps and crawfishes were all fresh and juicy. The spicy garlic butter was sooo good I wish they would bottle and sell it. We didn't care too much for the crab cluster but the rest was on point! This is officially my place for crawfish and shrimp whenever we're in town from now on. Please give them lots of support so that Houston can keep this crawfish joint forever! We will definitely be back soon!

Love this place! The best crawfish you can find in Houston. Everyone that works here is so friendly and the food is always so fresh. Their crawfish are huge and the flavor is on point! This place is so good it has ruined any other crawfish place around for me. Definitely a must try! And the Cajun fries are the best fries that I have had. Perfect fluffy and crunch, I crave them on the daily!
