Once Again, Goa’s Taverns Are the Place to Be | Eater

"Originally opened in Arpora in 1970, this family-run taverna was restarted in late 2021 by the owner’s wife and children and reopened as a compact, no-frills spot that quickly filled up with neighbors; the space is furnished with reused items like crates, old baskets, and stacked tires, and instead of fancy cocktails they adopted a self-service model so customers can mix their own drinks. Filu’s homey Goan cooking has won praise—signatures include aad maas (pork on the bone), tongue roast, choris pao, and beef croquettes—and the place is often packed with regulars, with conversation, music, carrom games, and pets all part of the atmosphere (reservations recommended)." - Joanna Lobo

I had the most delicious pork ribs here – tender, juicy, and full of flavor! Honestly, the best food I’ve tried in the Baga area so far. My hotel owner recommended this spot, and now I know why. Great taste, warm atmosphere, and friendly staff. Definitely worth visiting! Cajy Bar turned out to be a hidden gem for anyone looking to unwind without burning a hole in their wallet. This place nails the essentials of a good bar experience—great drinks, amazing food, budget-friendly pricing, and a welcoming atmosphere. The music was on point throughout the night, setting the right vibe without being overbearing. One of the biggest highlights here was the staff. The waiters were genuinely courteous and attentive, making sure everyone had what they needed without being intrusive. There’s a laid-back charm to the place that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy your evening. I would recommend the beef croquettes, chicken pakodas and the garlic bread as these were all yummy! That said, the washrooms could use a bit of work. While they weren’t outright terrible, there was a noticeable stink, and the lack of basic amenities like dustbins or tissues makes it feel a bit neglected in that department. A little effort there would easily push this place closer to a perfect 5-star score. Overall, Cajy Bar is a fantastic local watering hole—chilled, affordable, and run by people who know how to treat their patrons right. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a no-frills good time in Goa.

Cajy's has been constant on most of my trips to Goa, a nice nostalgic place in a small tucked away corner with amazing music and best of Goan snacks and drinks. Simple and warm . Sufficient parking space. But book your tables especially on weekends. After 9pm first come first seat policy. The owners are warm and service is swift.

I was with my friend at this bar last night. This is really amazing place to hangout. It had a great vibe and also the girls we met who took our reservations both were very sweet and friendly towards us. The bartender guy helped me as my phone was dead and he gave me his power bank. I’m thankful to him as my phone was nearly dead but he saved me for sure. I don’t know his name but a great thank you to him !!! The chicken lollipop was bang on like the taste was immensely delicious and drinks were also really nice. Would love to visit again because of their great hospitality and great behaviour towards.

This bar is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience Goa’s rich history and vibrant drinking culture. As one of the oldest bars in the region, it carries a unique charm that sets it apart from modern establishments. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great place to relax and unwind. One of the highlights of our visit was the incredible hospitality. The people here are not just friendly but also eager to share stories and recommendations, adding a personal touch to the experience. Whether you’re a solo traveler or visiting with friends, you’ll feel right at home. Of course, no visit would be complete without trying Goa’s famous Feni. This locally distilled spirit, made from cashew or coconut, has a distinct taste and a strong kick. It’s an essential part of Goan culture, and tasting it in such an authentic setting made the experience even more special. Beyond the drinks, the bar’s history and ambiance make it worth a visit. The rustic interiors, old-world charm, and laid-back vibe create the perfect setting to enjoy a drink and soak in the essence of Goa. Overall, it’s a fantastic place for a memorable evening.

Cajy Bar is an absolute must-visit if you're in North Goa. Tucked away in the charming town of Arpora, this cozy bar is perfect for those looking for good vibes, great company, and delicious drinks. Eli, the owner, is an amazing host who makes sure every guest feels right at home. If you're planning to visit Cajy Bar, make sure you arrive early. Tables fill up quickly, and it's not uncommon to see a line of people waiting to get in after 9 pm. But trust me, it's worth the wait. The prices are extremely reasonable, and you'll find some of the most pocket-friendly drinks in all of Goa. Although there's no table service, the bar more than makes up for it with its lively atmosphere. The bartenders are fun and always happy to make recommendations for drinks. The limited menu may seem like a drawback, but the food is absolutely delicious. You'll find some great appetizers and snacks that are perfect for sharing with friends. One of the things I loved about Cajy Bar is that it's an underrated gem. It's not as well-known as some of the other drinking places in Goa, but that's what makes it so special. It's a place where you can really connect with people and have a great time. Overall, Cajy Bar is a must-visit if you're in North Goa. It's the perfect place to grab a few drinks and meet new people. Don't miss out on this gem of a bar!

Have visited the place a few times earlier as well and can never get tired of it. This is one fine bar in North Goa in Arpora. It's a must try if you're around the area. Run by a Goan family, it's such a cozy place that you wouldn't want to leave. They have plenty of food options, and the prices are really low. Do try the drinks here, especially cocktail 🍸 and at times, there is fresh brewed beer as well. The service is fine too, despite the fact that there are just one or two people to serve food, but everything is so well managed. The pork ribs are delicious here and so is the cutlet. You can stay here till late I guess the bar is open around 1 or something, depending on the season. Had visited around September and then in January. The crowd comes in after 9-10ish. Also, they play amazing music, too.
