Looking for a quality cup of coffee while bumming around the Dallas airport? Skip the Seattle-based corporate chain and hit up the Cake Bar stand for some Counter Culture. It's a much better cup of coffee. Plus the chocolates are oh so twee.

There was nothing wrong with the food I purchased, but the customer service was extremely disappointing. The man who attended to me was very rude for no reason. I was polite when I asked a question, but he responded with an attitude. To make matters worse, he was sitting down and talking on the phone (at least, that’s what I presume) when I approached. He didn’t even acknowledge me at first. When he finally did, he pointed his phone in my direction—as if to show the person on the other end who was standing there. It was a very uncomfortable and unprofessional experience. The whole exchange felt strange and left a bad impression. Please address this issue—this kind of behavior is not acceptable.

Gentleman working here today was super friendly and helpful! He was great to chat with and give suggestions. Cake was delicious with great flavor but it did taste a little dried out.

Great stop to indulge yourself before a long flight. We had a slice of red velvet and hummingbird for a inflight snack

The cake was meh. It was moist as I prefer but had a very almondy taste for vanilla. The icing tasted a little more like shortening than icing. For $11 I expected a better/bigger slice. The chocolate chip cookie was great. Staff was friendly and helpful.

This review is intended for the owner of this business. I purchased slices of your cakes originally from one of your brick and mortar store fronts and was very satisfied with the product and services. However, my experience at your airport location pales incomparison. The 1 star rating is due to the terrible attitude and customer service received from your airport staff member (Black man darker complexion with a medium sized afro) staff like him can affect your brand negatively. 1. Issue- Lack knowledge of Product. When I asked the cashier/sales person what flavor were the whole cakes in the display case. The response " I don't know you tell me" 2. Issue rude and dismissive - When I stated I wanted to purchase a particular slice of cake instead of coming to assist or see what I wanted. The response "orders are placed over here at the register sarcastically. 3. Issue I just don't care attitude - Asked which was a favorite among customers. The response "All of them.

Initial disclaimer: Cake Bar in Trinity Groves is awesome so glad they are expanding. But I got one piece of cake here at the airport and it tasted like cleaning supplies. Strongly. Like you could smell it when you opened the container. Something was very wrong. Hopefully you guys can find out what happened.

It’s wouldn’t be the best coffee in any large city, but certainly the best in this airport.

Yelp
I ordered the mini red velvet cake for a birthday surprise and she absolutely loved it. She ate the whole cake within the course of 3 days. I will totally order again

Yelp
Their cakes never disappoint and are worth every penny. They even have my favorite cake in the world: Hummingbird Cake (try it if you haven't heard of it)

Yelp
We love the cakes, but, they've gotten smaller and more expensive. This year we just bought one for a birthday and while it was tasty, it was disappointing as well. Very little cake, very little. May lose a customer Cake Bar, $22 for a 5 inch cake is expensive!

Yelp
This is a review for a dated refrigerated congealed piece of German Chocolate Cake. I was so hungry having encountered many delays and gate changes along my travel journey before jumping on another flight. Modest slices for $10. I give a pity extra star bc the frosting was really tasty, i can only imagine how delicious this may have been when it was fresh. Y'all shouldn't do ppl like that bout their cake.

Yelp
Counter Culture Coffee (this place is more than cake!) - has everything I was looking for! A nice long walk between flights, a great alliteration name (not that I looking but who doesn't love a good alliteration) and fair trade certified coffee... not your standard Starbucks. Affordable, socially responsible and absolutely delicious coffee. Even the associate serving me was pleasant. 5-star all the way

Yelp
Cute little cake bar wayyyyyy out in the D concourse in DFW airport (gates d2-d4-ish). The cake slices are pretty big but they also come with a hefty price tag at $8 a slice. For being a unique airport option though, it's kind of expected. We tried the strawberry and hummingbird cake. The cakes were moist and the cream cheese frosting is delicious. The strawberry cake was out of season so instead of fresh strawberries it was more of a strawberry jam but they note that on the description so it came as no shock. On this day they were also offering carrot cake, devils food chocolate, red velvet and German chocolate cake slices. They also offer large cookies just under $3 as well as a variety of truffles and a coffee bar. If you're in need of a sweet treat this is a great place to stop.

Yelp
Breakfast sandwich was still frozen most of the way through. Nauseating and salty. Eat-zi's is just down the way a little bit. Worth the walk.

Yelp
First, if I could, I would rate the service "0" stars . On 9/2/24, my husband and I were flying home to New Orleans on a 7:05 p.m. flight. American Airlines changed our gate 5 times. When we got to gate D3, the only thing available to eat was at The Cake Bar. I wanted to check to be sure we were at the right place before ordering anything to eat. I put my phone down on a table and before I could even sit, the employee came out and rudely said the tables were for customers only. I started to explain that I wanted to be sure we were in the right place, but he cut me off and said , "for customers only." He didn't even wait for me to say I was planning on getting something. He was so rude, I was shocked. I've never been treated that way since my policy is to always be polite first. You just don't know what the person you're talking to is going through. Maybe there's a reason they're grumpy. I was left shaken and angry, but I walked away. This man was not wearing a name tag, so I can't report him by name. I can say that an employee who treats people so rudely and aggressively should be fired. I'm sorry that I didn't call security because I definitely felt verbally assaulted. If I ever find myself in the unfortunate situation of having no choice for getting something to eat but that cake shop, I'll definitely go hungry. If you're white and elderly, and there's a Black man wearing mirrored sunglasses working at the counter, move on.

Yelp
Had the strawberry cake sooo good! I told myself I'd only eat a bit but ended up eating the whole slice. And a slice is big. Amanda's Customer service was very pleasant. Glad i tried it !

Yelp
I purchased a piece a cake here at Cake Bar DFW, German Chocolate to be exact. I opened it on the plane. The cake was spoiled. I smelled it as soon as I opened the container. The slice of cake was $10. Kind of pricey not to be up to par. The cake bar dfw doesn't have a number attached. I called cake bar trinity grove and they told me they had nothing to do with that. The cake went in the trash and money down the drain.

Yelp
While in DFW airport Terminal D Cake Bar is open early and has many coffees, breakfast options and cake! How can one resist a whole cake to take to friends or a pre cut and boxed slice of cake with a vanilla latte. Great way to start our next adventure.

Yelp
Aesthetically pleasing, $$$, sysco-quality cake. If you are hungry for a photo prop over a tasty dessert, this is your spot.

Yelp
Remember the "Soup Nazi" episode from Seinfeld? The soup was pretty good, but getting it meant you had to endure a borderline abusive customer experience. That's similar to Cake Bar. Every time I go, the employees are unapologetically rude. It's uncanny, and doesn't matter how nice you are, or how much you tip. I ordered a $50 wedding cake this week, it was super dry. I called to resolve. They offer no refunds, exchanges, or empathy.

Yelp
Wow. Quick review, but good service and great tasting coffee. Regular drips are very nice--syrups available, and cinnamon too. Good creamer options! Nice because D4 is a long way away from other services.

Yelp
20 dollars for a 6 Oz coffee and a cake, totally not worth it. The coffee doesn't have the best taste either
