Well-Known Bakery Cake Monkey Closes in Westlake Village After One Year - Eater LA

"Cake Monkey will close its Westlake Village location today after just one year. The popular Southland bakery is choosing instead to refocus on its original location along Beverly Boulevard while pushing further into wholesaling its products. “It has been a fantastic journey,” says ownership over email, “which would not have been possible without our customers’ support.”" - Farley Elliott

Avocado toast is so good! All of their treats are delicious. Everything I’ve tried has been exceedingly amazing! I recommend going for brunch.

Mind you that I'm only basing this review on their cookies and their monkey bread. I left my cookie in the car for about 2 hours and when I got to it it was so delicious it was nice and warm just fabulous. So I guess warm things up for a few seconds to a minute. They do a diffrent take on the monkey bread but still a great buy.

Everything I've tried here has been fantastic. Everything is beautifully presented. Everyone on the staff us very nice and helpful. I work at the farmers market and almost always stop in for at least a coffee. I love their mochas! I also always point people here when they're looking for coffee. Joi cafe across the street doesn't have normal espresso drinks, is wildly expensive and also doesn't accept cash.

My mistake, the lack of good customer service made it worse! Cake Monkey is my sister's favorite bakery. When I entered the bakery the staff wasn't friendly. There was a gentleman in the shop upset waiting for a sandwich. They had one cake in the case, I asked if they could write on it. They said no because it has sprinkles on top. ok, I bought it anyway with a mini cake. 10 minutes later when I arrived at the party. My sister wanted mini cakes for each guest. She called the bakery to ask if we could return it, exchange it. They said ok, when we arrived the manager of the shop said no because of health department reasons. I can understand if there is a department of health policie on returning baked goods, it doesn't justify the terrible service experience I had at the shop.

So much variety in one pastry case! I wanted to get one of everything....it all looked so amazing! We opted for Inside out S'mores, cakewiches, and other cookie varieties. Can't go wrong here!
